Sweet Plum Polar Bear!

Hi there!  I've used my day after Thanksgiving to get some crafting done! I'm not a big fan of heading out to shop for Black Friday! I wish I could say that I decorated for the next holiday, but that didn't happen! I did household chores and I did get the few autumn decorations that were out put away, so I'm ready to decorate. But then, I colored!!
This terrific Polar Bear image is from Whipper Snapper designs! He is so fun to color! His name is BearGeorge and you can find him HERE!
He's holding a hot cup from a little set made by Papertrey Ink (and it has a die, too!!) You can find the $5.00 set HERE!
The die is 3.00!
I colored Bear George with copic markers trying to match SUs colors Sweet Sugarplum and Rick Razzleberry.  They look sooooo GREAT together! I used SUs cable knit embossing folder again! CAn't get enough of it-It may show up on every winter card I make! The snowflakes and snowhills are from My Favorite Things. Lots of sponging and Stardust Stickles for sparkle, too!

I'm still struggling with photos, editing and this darn computer, but trying to learn to make it a smooth process! I hope some of these photos show this card's colors, dimension and sparkle. I'm pretty happy with it!
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy and be grateful!

One cool cat...umm...bear!

Hello and Happy Friday! I don't mean to wish time away, but I'm so glad it's the weekend again! I want to show you the card I made for the Copic Creations Challenge. The challenge is to use your cool copic markers! I know, they're all pretty cool, but we mean the cool colors! You can find details and lots of inspiration on the Copic Creations Blog!
You can play along (until Feb. 14) for a chance to win 25 pounds from Lili of the Valley!! That's a great prize!
I have loved Lili of the Valley for awhile now, since a friend (Michele) told me about them. I just had to have a couple of James the Bear! I know everyone is so 'over' making winter cards, but I just had to ink him up!

My cool colors are BG10, BG15 and BG49 for his scarf and hat.
This will be my last post as a member of the Copic Creations Team. I just love all the girls and Mary G is a great leader. I just seem to have trouble keeping up! A big MWAH to the whole team and thanks for everything! Love ya!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs, Cheryl
Oh, one more thing, you have one more day to comment on THIS POST for a chance to win a card (made by me) and a Magnolia stamp. It's my mini blog candy, just for fun!

Tag Card-Inside and Out!

Hello! A quick post today with the inside of the Tag Card I posted the other day! I used more patterns in the Making Memories Together line for the inside panels. The dotted one matches the front as you can see below! I {{love}} the plaid pattern! It was the original inspiration for my main image on the front! Here's the original post for the Inspiration and links to make a tag card!
Here's a reminder of what the front looks like. You kind of bend the top back a bit to release the front and it opens down.
I found my paper with the colors. They are:
BG10 and BG72. E000, E11, E00 and R30
R30, R21, R22 cheeks and snowman nose
Y21, YR21, YR24, E99 broom
YG91, 93 and 95
E42, E31, E35, E25 and E29
Please remember to enter your name over at Jacque's Joie de Vivre for the Sunday Sensations Prize!! This week it's 25.00 for two in stock stamps ~one Edwin and one Tilda! AND rumor has it that the new collection is in stock and selling like crazy!! You have until Tuesday at midnight to enter your name on Jacques' blog! There are lots of new MINIs in stock too!
Tomorrow I will have an easel card made with one of the minis that is very familiar to you! Please return if you can!
Thanks for visiting today!
Nancy asked me a question about coloring and I will get that answered too!

Snowy Hug Tag card

Hi friends! I know, I know everyone is working on valentines, but can you believe I had stamped this image and not colored it?! True! I HAD to use it on a card~I think it's my favorite image! (#3071 SNOWY HUG)

Then I had to use my favorite winter (and summer!) color~aqua! I better get to some links before going further! The amazing, wonderful Claudia Rosa made a tag card that was my inspiration. She was in turn inspired by this crafter Tiets, Sugar Bowl. I wanted to make my card fit into an A2 envelope so I started with card stock that measured 10" x 4" and scored it at 4.5". Then cut the corners on the back at an angle to make the back of the card. There is a nestability oval tucked under the plaid paper to hold the card close. To open, you just lift the edge with the short strings.

My plan to fit in an A2 envelope fell apart when I decided to add the wide grosgrain ribbon to the top! I didn't have room on the card front for ribbon or flowers (since my card is smaller) so I wanted a fancier top! I used my craft knife to cut a slot and put the ribbon through. It's tied with a little piece of string and the bow is separate and adhered with Scor-tape. Please see Claudia's photos for how it opens! I still have to decorate the inside of mine!

I think I'll have to make one of these with a mini image!!
Thanks for coming by today! The weekend is almost here!! Yeah! Have a terrific ThursdaY!
Hugs, Cheryl

Crystal Cold Snowflake!

Hello and THANK YOU so much for all the nice comments on the August calendar page! You're so kind!

Here is another of the images in the I Brake for Stamps Holiday Squares set.
I just love this snowflake and don't think it has to be just for holiday cards! I used only BG10, BG72 and BG78 to color it.
Then I used Stardust Stickles around the snowflake and Glitter Glass on the snowflake image. This snowflake has got sparkle to spare!
I decided on black as my accent color so the rest of the card came together speedy quick! If you order from IBFS please use the code SAVE10CHERYL for 10% off your order!

Thanks for swinging by today! Hope you know how grateful I am! Soooo grateful!

Happy Holiday!

Okay, I'm sorry, I know the holidays are yesterday's news, but (and I've always wanted to say this!) I'm working on projects for CHA!! Yep, me~ Pinch me!
I'M not going, but my projects are! Diana asked the DT to make some things for her display! My package goes out to her today!
In the mean time, may I show you a card I made for my friend, Lisa Kind.
She's an awesome stamper, member of several design teams and, YES, she is very kind! She is also an animal lover and I knew she would like this Snowman and his dog buddy!
I colored the image with copics, and used some Basic Grey paper (from Curio, which I loooove!) for my color scheme. The Snowflakes embossing folder was used on the card base on PTI's linen.
I used more dp to stamp the sentiment on.

I'd better be going for now! Will try to have a card for tomorrow!
Wishing you a Super Saturday!!
Thanks so much for visiting!

Baby, it's Cold Outside!

Hi friends! Over the holdays we had a break in our wintry weather and as I write this we having a return of winter! I actually like fresh snow to cover up the old, dirty snow! I bought this sentiment at my LSS to use with the Little Mittens from I Brake for Stamps. Aren't they cute?! And only 3.00! Feel free to use my code SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% off your entire order!
I chose my paper and laid it next to my copic chart and picked markers to match. The mittens colored up very quickly. I stamped the sentiment on white and cut it with a Spellbinders tag, but it needed something. I cut a larger tag with slots on each end from eggplant card stock. Then I added the ribbon and pearls to the ends. A pretty quick card to make!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see what I've been up to! I appreciate each and every visit!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Oh, deer!

Hello! Well, it's back to work Monday for me and all of us who work in school! Are we ready? YES, we are!! I really got to spend a lot of time creating over the break. I had this image colored and made it into a card yesterday when I saw the gallery of the Featured Stamper on SCS. Have I mentioned that it's my favorite challenge!? It is! The image is one I bought when the Stamp and Scrap Art tour was in Buffalo-it's from Art Gone Wild and is called Small standing Deer. I think you could find it in their store online too.
I colored the deer with copics, but didn't keep the colors. Of course, you can tell they are Es-probably E42 and 43, 25 and 29. The aqua around the image is some copic (BG10) and then the prismas gamsol technique that I don't use often enough!
I told you that you would be seeing more of this paper! I love, love, love it! It is called Merry January from We R Memory Keepers. It matches Baja Breeze, Not quite navy, River rock, Soft Suede, and from Papertrey-Linen.
The Doo hickey leaf die is from Magnolia and mine came from Diana Crick's Magnolia-licious Store.
It comes with a wonderful swirl die. I'm sorry, but I don't see it in stock right now, but there is another set of leaf dies on page 2 of the link above. If you want this one, please email Diana to find out when you can order it!
Well, must finish getting ready for work! Have a great day whatever you are up to!
Thanks for visiting and thanks to all my followers~former and NEW! I {{heart}} you!

Simple snowflake cards

Hello! Do you need to send out thank yous? I do! After a busy holiday season I wanted to make something simple (but elegant) to send out. This first card is a square (4.25"). I used the SNOWFLAKE from I Brake for Stamps as my focal image. I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it with white filigree embossing powder. Then I used my aqua stencil brush and Adirondack ink (Stream) to swirl color around the snowflake. I wiped the embossed part off with a tissue. I cut and dry embossed the square with my spellbinders and mounted it on 'Taken with Teal card stock. My card base is Shimmer from Papertrey Ink. I added Ice Stickles and the pearl in the center to finish it off. I made a set of these and packaged them in a clear box as a hostess gift for a holiday party we were invited to.
Yesterday, I decided to try the idea in another color- Adirondack Butterscotch and Cranberry. It matched Berry Sorbet from PTI.

Finally, here is another standard A2 card made into a Thank you by adding the sentiment in Taken with Teal ink. I also did the card in green with a little aqua that I'll show you on another day!
Now to get my notes written!
Please use my code to get 10% off your order at I Brake for Stamps! (This stamp is only 2.00 unmounted, but you're sure to find more in the store!)
Thanks so much for visiting!!

Snowy Hug-Mini style!

Hi stampers! I have another Christmas card made! My pile is growing yet I still don't have even one mailed! I admire people who get their Christmas cards out early! I long to be one of them! Oh well, I am enjoying the process tremendously when I have images like this to work with! I had my Snowy Hug (mini) colored and the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast this morning fit the bill to help me finish it! I love Red and Aqua as Christmas colors and decided the dark color (black) would really set off the image and the Basic Grey (Curio) paper! I also used my Magnolia lace doo hickey die and a page from an old dictionary for the border beneath the ribbon. Can you see it? Hope so! (Sorry, it doesn't seem to be available right now). This card is only 4.25" square! Love that!
Another thing I love is that I was able to keep two of the outside edges of the dp and make the other two (cut) edges match by using some walnut stain distress ink AND my black copic marker! Of course, the snowflakes were made Anna Wight style with Martha Stewart punches and glitter glass. My image is pretty sparkly with Diamond Stickles, but it didn't photograph too well.
My reds are R22, 24 and 29 and my blues are BG10 and BG72. for the tan snow I used E42 and then the 0 blender to keep it light.
Now I want to give you a link to win a GREAT PRIZE from Diana at Magnolia-licious! She has teamed with the glorious Jacque to promote Maggies by giving them away! 25.00 worth EVERY Sunday. All you have to do is leave a link on Jacque's blog! Eeeeeasy!!
Here's the link to #3071 SNOWY HUG
but while you're there please consider checking out all the other new minis! The Mini World collection is growing! LOL!
Okay, enough for today! I'm off to get my card entered in the FS gallery on Splitcoast and then on with this busy Sunday.
Hope you are enjoying this joyous season in some way today!

Big Smile!

Hi! Isn't time flying quickly by! So much to do, so little time! Here's another Christmas card I finished last week. I used the reindeer from I Brake for Stamps Holiday Squares. If you order, please use my code SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% off your order!
You get the four squares I've linked and they are big than you think! Over 2" square so they really 'make' the front of your card. I decided on this Basic Grey plaid from the Max and whiskers collection (I think). I think my dad had a flannel shirt like this so maybe Santa does too!
An angled close up so you can see some of the glitz! There's stardust stickles and glossy accents on his nose and spica pen around the antlers and, of course, sparkle on the snow.
He looks like a reindeer ready to party after a long trip!
DH and I both gave in last week and went to the doctor's! We both had infections so are on antibiotics to take care of it! Good thing, too, 'cuz I wasn't getting much accomplished! We're on the mend now!
I hope you are well and enjoying the day and season!

Tiny Treats Box!

Hello! Well, we've had snow, snow and more SNOW! Monday was terrible and we had school anyway! I think there were many unhappy parents because yesterday we found out EARLY that school was canceled for the day! (DH Dave calls me from the radio station as soon as he gets the call!) Love that guy! I didn't have quite the day I'd planned on when I heard the news but I did manage to get this box made for a friend of mine. She ordered it on Monday so I think she'll be surprised when I have it for her today! This box was created by my friend Tracy Harp for Cornish Heritage Farms. You can travel to her blog entry where she has the link to the tutorial for this cute box that holds one of the 8oz. canning jars. Those jars can hold so many goodies!
I used Papertrey Ink's 2009 Autumn tags (wreath) and Tiny Treats Christmas (snowman) for my front medallion. The paper as you probably recognize is Basic Grey Jovial (looove it!)

The string on top is tied through a large red button which is adhered with Scor tape. And to create the box itself I couldn't be without my Scor-Pal!
(I just heard there is a new one coming out soon with 1/4" marks!!)
Congratulations to Diane Zechman (cookie stamper) who has just been named to the Scor-Pal design team!
Have a great day!
Cheryl

Snowman Quartet

Hello! I didn't mean to be absent for so long! I'm coloring all the time, but lately I'm "layout challenged" so don't seem to finish anything! I used a terrific stamp from Whipper Snapper called Snowman Quartet for this card. I love, love snowman so this is FOUR times as nice as one! The paper from Basic Grey (Olivia) seemed to have gray in it so I used that for my card base. It's hard to tell, but the next layer is Blushing Bride from SU to coordinate with my coloring. That gorgeous Grey satin ribbon came free in my last package from Ellen Hutson!
Here's a close up. I used BG10 and T3 for the 'sky'.
There's a little E42 on the faces.
The greens are G40, G24, and a little G29
The pinks are R22 and R24
Greys are T1, T3, T5 and then C1 for blending and C7 for darkening.
We're getting some of the snow today that we didn't get in the snow storm last week. This is the first year that I have to drive in it in 7 years. At about 10:15 I have to leave one school (near our house) and drive to the other elementary. Today is the first day I dread that drive. I'm trying to remember not to rush it!
I hope whatever challenges you face today that you prevail over them! Thanks for visiting!

Warm Hugs!

Hi! Please read below for the winner of my blog candy!
I made this card today when I should have been doing other things! I was really struck by a card I saw in the Featured Stamper's gallery at Splitcoast and HAD to CASE!
This is Starry Snowman from Whipper Snapper. I used copics to color- BG000, BG10 and BG72
I used R11, R21 and R05 for the pinks/reds. The snowflake on the background is from the SU snowflake set from last year and is stamped in Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink)
And the winner of the shaker windows, some paper and a stamp or two is COMMENT #26 as chosen by www.random.org on Friday night.
The commenter is lynn
lynn, please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com as soon as you get a chance so I can mail your package! Thanks!
Well, I want to try to finish a card to post tomorrow and have other things to do to prepare for the work week!

You warm my heart!

Hello! After saying I would be posting the Magnolia-licious Sketch project today I wasn't so sure! But, it's still Monday here so I made it! Maybe you've already seen Suzanne's group post containing some fab cards by my fellow designers. Here's the LINK to her post for all the details.

Basically, that crazy Barb challenge us (and YOU!) to make a shaker card! I remember making shaker cards YEARS ago! You had to buy foam board to put between your acetate and card stock! I always got glue right on my acetate and that foam board was miserable to cut!
Well, now there are these cool little shaker pieces you can buy! They are three dimensional and self adhering! Oh, boy, was I glad! I bought 10 in a package at my LSS for a few dollars. I knew I wanted something small and the circles were sold out. Once I had them home I was glad to have the squares! I decided it would make the perfect ICE CUBE for Tilda to sit on! I also got some Martha Stewart Glitter 'chunks' to put in the shaker piece. Luckily for the ice idea I bought aqua! Serendipity!

I only wished I had used some glitter in the background. I did stamp it with snowflakes so it wouldn't be stark. My paper is from Fancy Pants-Arctic Chill by jackie eckles. Tilda is colored with the following copics.
E000, E11, E00, R30, BG10, BG72.
R81, R83 and R85 for the top, but there is also some R11 in her top to give it a little different shade. Browns are E31, 35, 25 and 29.
I have Stardust stickles here and there and spica pen on her bootlaces.
Tilda is called Cozy Tilda (#3020) in Diana's store. Cute, cute, cute!
Well, I hope you've enjoyed reading about my card and that you will consider making a shaker card of your own to enter!
I would like to send someone a few of these square shakers as well as a Tilda stamp and maybe a little paper! Please comment by Thursday evening, November 4 if you would like the chance to win. I will ship anywhere. You have all month on the challenge so you would get them in time to use!
Have a great evening and day tomorrow! Thanks for visiting!

Quick post..Strange card!

Good morning! I am running late, but don't like to go more than a day without posting! This odd card is in honor of March which is a mixture of Winter and Spring! And it is for my friend Lorrie in Ohio whose birthday is today! Lorrie LOVES winter and spring is okay, but she DOES NOT like the heat and humidity of Ohio's summers! That explains my mixture of spring colors and flowers with a winter image and edge punch! (I HOPE!)

I also want to thank CANADA for the wonderful Winter Olympics that recently ended! I loved every minute of the hours and hours that we watched! What a beautiful setting and great country! Thank You!

Gotta go! wishing you a productive day! come again sooon!
Cheryl

New blog borders and NO SNOW coming this weekend!

Border punch on last post is Martha Stewart and is called Hydarngeas. I got mine at www.franticstamper.com Fran has them ALL!

Magnolia-licious March Sketch!!

Jacque gave us a great sketch to work with for the March challenge! It is so great that I was inspired to make a box too! I have more pictures so I'll try to keep the chat to a minimum! This is Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling Collection (and the Winter kit). If you are interested please let Diana know. She'll give you info on when she will have more in the store. Please head to the Challenge blog to see the sketch and the other Design Team member's gorgeous creations.

My box is from Papertrey Ink template called Do Me A Favor. The sides open wide so it would hold quite a bit. I've forgotten to mention that I printed a lot of boxes because a few weeks ago I bought a new printer and I am seriously IN LOVE with it! It's a Canon with a Rear tray so it prints all these templates I've bought. I'm soooooo happy! This is one I had printed (in soft sky) and it seemed the perfect time to put it together!

I used Y21, E08 and E25 on her hair. Her shoes are E33 and E99. Her dress is BG10 and BG72 and the green is YG01 and YG25. Her skin is the usual E000, E01 and R20.

Love this little gal, so here's a close up!
And then a pic of the front of our house! Our "olow guy" had to pile the snow on Sunday so there is room WHEN (not IF!) we get more! Funny how you can hardly see the front door!
(I had two pics, but one disappeared on upload!

LLWWC25 is all about....

No DP! Lisa has given us (and YOU!) the challenge of making a card using no DP! You, know the "old fashioned" way!
Remember when we all used to stamp a background with a large stamp or repeated small ones? That's fun to do sometimes, but I opted for the Cuttlebug folder, Snowflakes. I certainly was not one of the first to have a CB. I kept reading about it and wondering what in the heck it was! Once I took the plunge I have never looked back! I still love it and it fits on the stand where I work. No Big Shot or Wizard for me, at least not YET!
Anyway, I used Winter Lala for my card and some of the great SU Bermuda Bay with Kraft and white card stock. Please check out the Lala Land Blog for the designers gorgeous projects! You can also find the details for how you can join in with us!
Have fun!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Cheryl
copic colors used:
Bg11, Bg13, BG15, with a touch of B18
Browns-E31, E33, E25. Skin E000, E01 and R20

Chilly Love!

Hello friends! I've made this winter card, but can you see the spring colors sneaking in? I'm so getting ready for soft yellow, pinks and blues! How about you? I saw this image (Motivet) first when Claudia (Pretty Pressings) made a nearly all white card with it! It was frosty and beautiful!
Well, I ordered it and colored it up pretty quickly then couldn't decide on papers! These MME papers came a couple of weeks ago and when I flipped to the back side the colors were perfect!
A couple of fresh snowflakes with my Spellbinders dies and a card was born!!
We have a beautiful, sunny, but chilly day here in snow country while to the east it is snowing like crazy! Sorry, but I'll take the weather in Western New York! We aren't "out of the woods" yet though, there's more winter to come!
I'm sure the copics are in the Cool family and the aqua is BG 10 and BG72, but I'm not sure about the reds and yellows. Sorry!
Going back to color a little more in my bright room!
Thanks for stopping and have a super day and evening!

Birthday Snowman!

This is a card I finished on Sunday using Mo's Perfect Snowman! It's for a good friend of mine at school. In fact, she was the aide in my classroom and we worked closely together for 16 years. My job was changed this year and though the new job is fine I sure miss working with Eileen! Because of Valentine's Day I've been working with lots of pink lately so I kept going with it for this. I used this older (and beloved!) Cosmo Cricket paper. To keep the vintage look I used E41 and E43 on the blues of the snow and on the pink to dull it a bit.

Santa Dave brought me a Janome and I've practiced on a card, but this is the first I've posted. I know it's not good, but stitching doesn't have to be perfect on a vintage look card. Does it?!
Well, I have a lot to learn, I know! Please don't look to harshly upon it.

I used the wonderful pink rose shades of R81, R83, R85 for the pinks
BG0000 and BG10 for the aqua. A dark brown for his mouth and buttons
and the E41, E43 and a little E25 for the browns. I added some stickles after I took the photos.

Thanks for looking! Come see a Magnolia card tomorrow, thought it's not yet done and I'm not sure I like it-I'll show you anyway!
Have a great Monday!
Hugs, Cheryl
