#238 Photo Inspiration!

Hi! It's Just Us Girls time again and this time Sue has a great Photo Inspiration challenge for us! You can see it HERE!  And, of course, we hope you'll play along and be inspired to create something of your own to share with us!  All chics of the week (in April) are in the running to be chosen as our guest designer in one of the upcoming months! Please show us what ya got!
The balloons inspired me to creaet my own!  This is the largest die in a set from Simon Says Stamp.  You can see the set HERE!  This largest one still fits in an A2 envelope.  I cut my card base (using the die) from a folded piece of 4.25 x 11" card stock.  Leave the die a bit above the fold of the card stock and you get a folded shaped card.  Then I cut a single balloon from a piece of Coastal Cabana card stock and adhered that to the top of the folded card.  This way you don't have the flat edge of your card showing on your card front.  Before adhering the balloon I ran it through in my large dotted cuttlebug folder. After that I punched a bunch of white dots using my 3/8" punch.  The placement of the embossed dots gave me the perfectly spaced placement for all my punched dots. Once they were glued on I just shaded the edge of my balloon, tied some twine to the balloon end and stamped a sentiment, which I then adhered.
And here is another inspired card-white balloon and coastal cabana dots. This one is made with the same steps as I'm sure you can tell!
Okay, that's it for me!  Now, come on and show us what you've been inspired to make!  You have until Thursday, May 1 at 9:00 pm to link up your project with our Linky Tool.  And, you don't want to miss all the inspiration on the JUGS BLOG from the team!
Thanks for coming by!

JUGS 237 Color Challenge!

Hello!  Can you believe how fast April is going!  And we (in Western New York) finally have some springlike weather!  Okay, on to business-We have a new challenge for you over at Just Us Girls!
Its a color challenge of  BLUE, ORANGE, AND YOUR CHOICE OF NEUTRAL COLOR.

I used a clear set of butterflies from Hero Arts.  My background is a new for me technique. I used a honeycomb stencil from Memory box and some texture paste for dimension.  This was really fun to do~like frosting a cake. Once it was dry I used my dye ink pads and a stencil brush . I had imagined shades of peach, but before I knew it I had a coral orange. I'm not really crazy about it, but no time for another sample. I sprayed it with some Sparkle Shimmer Spritz so it's pretty shiny. IRL, that is! Then there are also Stickles applied to the butterfly.
Please click on the link above to go to our blog and see much more inspiration!  Then we hope you will create something of your own in these colors and share it with us.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Challenge 236-Try this technique!

Hello!  What a crazy week!  I've been working on projects, but not getting any posts done! But, it's Saturday and Lisa has a technique challenge for you over at Just Us Girls! Please check it out and join us!

This is the card I made for my husband for our 22nd anniversary which was yesterday.  Inside I wrote, "After 22 years, I'd go anywhere with you!"  My image (from Art Gone Wild-Michelle Masters topiary series) is stamped on watercolor paper and colored with reinkers from SU. It was then cut with an MFT pierced recangle die. Love that stitched look! I left my image in the die and used a stencil brush on the ink pad and added the pool party to the sky and old olive for the grass.
Now, since our challenge is water color background I had to get busy with that!  I cut a piece of water color paper to fit my Coastal Cabana card base.  I wet it with a water spritzer and then used my 'splatter' stamp with Coastal Cabana ink.  My 'splatter' stamp' is from Impression Obsession. The wet paper made the ink move about a bit for the watercolor look I was going for.  I added a couple of strips of green washi tape for interest and then put my image on old olive and raised it on dimensionals.  I also added some stickles that are difficult to see, but ass some nice sparkle.
With the popularity of water color right now, we would sure love to have you join us in Lisa's challenge this week!
BTW, you can wish Lisa (and her hubby Kevin) a Happy Anniversary too!  We discovered after we met online (through stamping!) that we were married on the exact same day!! April 11, 1992.  Such a fun thing to have in common, 'cuz we both have great husbands!
Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day and weekend!

Just Us Girls #235-It's a Sketch!

Hello!  Ahhh! Another weekend! And spring is here-AND-soon it will feel like spring, I hope!
Maria, at Just Us Girls has a great sketch for us today and the team has rocked the sketch!
Please check out the fabulous inspiration on OUR BLOG!

Once again, I tweaked the challenge, just a bit! I started with the plan to use three sunflowers on my card, but I have been working on another card with this Stampin' Up chocolate bunny and it just sort of evolved into this. My bunny is stamped onto Close to Cocoa with Versamark then heat embossed with some very dark brown (and coffee scented!) embossing powder. I used dies from a mix of companies: MFT- the leaves, Papertrey In-the flowers and Impression Obsession-the grass.  I also used Versamark and embossing powder on my flower center.  The trellis punch is from Martha Stewart.
Oh, and my flower is cut from Daffodil Delight card stock  and sponged with Peach Parfait and Pumpkin Pie. The card base is kraft stamped with SUs wood grain in Soft Suede.
Please do check out the blog for some divine inspiration and join us this week in the challenge!  You have until Thursday, April 10 at 9:00 pm ET to link up your card.  And we want to see what you create!
Wishing you time to create this weekend!
