Too cute to spook!!

Happy Halloween!
I've always loved October and Halloween! Not the trouble making, too scary kind of Halloween, but the fun, candy, and DRESSING UP!! So fun! We had a wonderful Halloween party and parade at school yesterday. Before I put all my Halloween papers and images away this year (sniff, sniff!) I wanted (had!) to ink up this little witch Tilda and her owl. What better paper for a quick card this morning than Basic Grey's Eerie! The card is 4.25x 6" to accommodate the design of the bg paper.
Tilda's purple dress (which is more of a dusty purple IRL) is V91, V93 and v95 in case you are interested. They are wonderful shades together and because I was in a hurry I just looked at my printout of the colors that Papertrey Ink recommends for their papers. It is a great "go to" for color choices. You can see it here: Papertrey INK. Just click on download chart.
Of course, my images came from MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS
Diana has the best prices around and if you don't belong, already, please join our Yahoo group for a discount!
Well, I have got to get busy in my craft room. DH and I are trading rooms (my craft room for his dressing room) Dressing room is a nice way to say the extra room that has his closet because I take all the space in the other two closets in the house! Small house, remember!? Anyway, I will have more room for my STUFF! I'm searching for storage cabinets, but for now just want to get settled in there with the hodge podge of cheap storage that I already own!

Can you tell I'm excited?! Back tomorrow with a card for the Copic Creations Challenge-I'll finish it today, hopefully before the trick or treaters come! TV date with DH later-no exciting evening here-we're homebodies!
Have a great day and thanks for coming to see me!

I Dunno...

This is an image from Mos' Digital Pencil entitle "I Dunno". I computer generated the sentiment (in a hurry) this morning. On the inside I will put "how I missed your birthday. Hope it was happy". I use belated birthday cards s lot!

Bella and Bronte are colored with my copics and this image didn't take long to do at all. It's printed quite small at about 3 inches tall so she fit well in the nestabilities and on this 5" square Gate fold card. I think I will add some sparkle to her skirt before mailing. It's tacked closed with one of those great little magnets. You can hide them under the dp and it works great!

This is a reminder that Mo's challenge team has posted their weekly challenge which is to make a
FANCY FOLD CARD. If you've been here before you know that I don't do really fancy stuff. I love the simple with the focus on coloring and paper. But they want you to know it only has to be a different fold from the traditional or you can get as fancy as you want!
Here's the link : Mo's Challenge Blog
Have a Bootiful day and thanks for all the great comments yesterday and always!

Who is that wrapped man??

It's Edwin, of course! My So Spooky collection is in the house!! They are Magnolia-licious!! I had to ink one up right away and he was so EASY to color! Diana has reported that she just got more beautiful Magnolias for her store and that most images are in stock for you! Here's the Magnolia-licious store
in case you want to go look right now! I think my card is also Clean and Simple so you can also head over to Magnolia-licious Highlites to check on our challenge to create your own CAS card to win a stamp from Diana!
I used E42 and E43 to color Edwin's wraps and various shades of yellow and orange (Ys and YRs) for the pumpkin. The sentiment is from a hostess set by SU! the dp is Cosmo Cricket from last year called Nevermore.
I think this card will be for our terrific nephew who was a Halloween baby-28 years ago!! Hi, AJ!! My sister and brother-in-law raised a great kid!!
Thanks for stopping by. Mo's challenge team has a new challenge up for the week-to make a fancy fold card-that's anything except the traditional fold in half card. You can get the details
HERE. If it's not there yet, I hope you can check back later.
Have a great day! The weekend is almost here!

A Little Yummy for Diana!

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I finished this card on Sunday so I was able to get some decent (I hope!) outside photos! It's getting dark so early, isn't it?! This card was a pleasure to make for Diana. She asked each of us on her DT to make something for her in Red, Black and White. I may be the last to post mine! It's made with three images from the Yummy for your Tummy collection: Kitchen Tilda (coming soon to the store), the sentiment (in stock) and the apple which came only in the kit (sorry!)
Anyway, I used paper from October Afternoon and from Graphic 45 as well as a sketch from one of the Magnolia sketch challenges. (I can't remember which one!) The paper right behind Tilda is from the Basic Grey Nook and Pantry pad. I love it because it allowed me to have a little more white. Most of my white is cream. this card is 6 x 6 inches.
I'm rambling horribly as I type this so why don't I just jot the colors down for you now?
E000, E01 and E93-skin
E42 for beige
Y21, E33 for her hair
Reds are R17, R29, R37 and R39
Spoon E31, E33, E25 and E37

Thanks very much for stopping by today! I hope you've enjoyed this card! I sure enjoyed making it!

Owl be There!

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! (Well, uck, the weekend is over, but what are ya gonna do?
Before you ask-Yes, I definitely CASEd my friend, Suzanne on this one (scroll down her post to see her cards). My sister's birthday was the 24th. I needed a card, and QUICK! My sister collects owls (I immedialtey purchased this digi set from Pink Cat Studio) and I have the same paper Suzanne used so I was in business!
So, I used the same MME paper, but paired it with Taken with Teal and Bermuda Bay ribbon.
My colors are as follows:
BG0000, BG10., BG15
R0000, R20, R81 and R83
G20, G82, and G24
E43, and E50
We had a family "steak fry" for her birthday and I thin she had a good day!
Hope to see you soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Tilda and Edwin AND CAS

Hi and welcome to the Blog Hop where the Magnolia-licious design team is showcasing our efforts at Clean and Simple Cards. It's a litttle hard to get your mind around, but once you get going it's kind of fun!
The hop started at Kerry's excellent blog-Three Clovers Designs, so you may want to start there to be certain you see all the samples. Youwould have arrived here fromthe fabulous Becca at Amazing Paper Grace
I CASEd Kerry for this one. She showed us a similar layout witht he ribbon tags and I used it! Thanks, Kerry! I think I've said before how much I love this Tilda-she is a three season gal! I had her colored up ahile ago when I made another card (I'll check for the post when I get a chance-colors may be listed there!) Many of the new Tildas have bigger eyes. I like that look so when I finished this (older) Tilda I used my black copic pen to enlarge and darken her eyes. It can add a real pop to them. I darkened Edwin's below because they just didn't stamp as dark as I like them. Try it!

I actually made this Edwin card before the Tilda. I think it shows you CAN use dp on a CAS card. I just kept the layers and "scenery" to a minimum. You know I love my dp.
For Edwin I used copics:
E000, E01, E93
BG10. BG72, BG0000.
YG01, YG25
E43, E25
Y17, YR15, YR16, YR18 ( I TRIED to keep the number of colors to a minimum, too!)
thanks for visiting! Your next stop on your travels will be the wonderful
SHARON!! When you're finished, please head to the Magnolia-licious highlites blog for the details on winning a Magnolia stamp! If you make your own CAS card that's what you could win!
I know you'll love what she has to show you!
Have a great day!

Patience? Not me!

It was tough to be patience when Mo drew this image "Patience"! I couldn't wait to get it printed and colored up! (My picture doesn't do it justice!) Can you stand it? Look at that cat's face! Look at the little girl! Oh my goodness!

Well, I love aqua and orange and hadn't used any of this Bo Bunny kitchen spice paper. It was my inspiration for the colors of copics I used.
It's getting late (9:00 pm-probably makes some of you laugh, but DH and i are up around 4:00 am every day!) and I've got to get Friday's Magnolia-licious post entered. We're doing Clean and Simple card with our Magnolia images. Hope you'll come back!
I'll post the colors for this card on Saturday and get it added to SCS and PCP. The link to Mo's store is on my side bar!
thanks for visiting! Really!

Art Gone Wild!

Whew! Monday is over and we are already to Tuesday!

I don't know how wild this card is, but the image is made by Art Gone Wild and isn't it cute? I'm a sucker for cute animals! This Autumn image was colored with my copics awhile back and I'm sorry but I don't have the colors written down.
The card base is Kraft, then a layer of Ripe Avocado and then that GREAT plaid from my DCWV pad from Joann's.
I cut the oak leaves from a spellbinders die then emboassed them through the machine. Before removing the die I sponged tonal colors on the leaves. I think I used pumpkjn, really rust and burgundy. The leaves are made from card stock in ruby red, saffron and mustard.

I'm pre posting because I have book club tonight so I'll keep it short!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Cheryl

More blue for you, and a Winner, too!!

Hi! I meant to post earlier, but I wanted to finish a card to post!

Random.org picked comment 61 and by my count that is Lisa Foster! Here is Lisa's comment:

Congratulations to Lisa and I thank all of you for your lovely comments! Each and every one is appreciated more than I can say!

Lisa's winnings will include some Basic Grey paper, some DCWV, a Whiff of Joy Henry stamp (ordered two the same in my excitement!) and TWO Magnolias; A Tilda and an Edwin. Oh, yes, and a card made by me! Contact me, if you would Lisa: drowley01@earthlink.net
My card uses a confetti white card base and Bordering Blue cardstock, which I found to be the perfect match for the Magnolia paper that I got from Diana at Magnolia-licious!
I don't see this image right now, but the paper is available. The buttons and ribbon are from Papertrey ink.
I used a lot of grays and some blues in my coloring today. Here are the colors:

CCC challenge (Oct. 15) Color Something Black

Mary gave us free reign to choose an image that we could showcase how we color black. I think if you check out the blogs, you'll find that most of us use grays to make black~ Who would want to cover up the detail of all the wonderful images out there! Mine is no exception. My gray and black striped cat is made of of the Warm Grey copics. W00, W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7 AND C9 (for the darkest). In case you haven't read it before, you really don't NEED all of the gray shades. Getting every other one will serve you fine whether it's the cool or warm grays. I don't have many Neutrals or any Toners so I can't speak about them, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same with them.

It's no secret that I love my Tilda and Edwins! Really, I do! Magnolia also makes some great "Accessory stamps" and Diana (Magnolia-licious)
carrries lots of them! This Hanging Cat and Tag are BOTH in stock now. If you are in our Magnolia-licious group and mention that in the comment section you can get 10% off! (check details at the store, please)
I used my new cosmo Cricket Nutmeg paper (found it at Croppin' Paradise). I love the dep, earthy tones. This card is only 4 1/4x4 1/4 so it could be used as a gift tag, but can also be mailed in an A2 envelope. I think I could also have put a small "Merry Christmas" in the tag space and made it a holiday card. Endless possibilities! I will also be putting the walking cat inside and will color that one like our orange cat, Charlie.

You can still enter my blog candy by checking THIS POST and leaving a comment before Sunday, 10/18 at 9: oo am.
thanks for visiting! I'll be back Sunday with my winner!
Have a great day and WEEKEND! Be sure to check the CCC blog for the other designers Fabulous work! the post may be delayed a day or two so I hope you don't give up! It'll be worth the wait!

Mo's Project of the Month! (And Blog Hop!)

Hi all! So glad you're here! Mos' Digital Pencil Dream Team has been challenged by fellow member Lori to create a card with our favorite "Mo" image and color. If you came here first, you may want to go back and start at Lori's blog. She is the beginning. If you came here from Lori's blog, you're right on time! Add Image I used my favorite image at the moment! Mos' Snowman is terrific! You can click on the Digital Pencil store link to the right to see all her great works of art! We paper crafters seem to all love color and it can be hard to pick a favorite, don't you think? Well, I reach for aqua shades a lot! I think it is so versatile. In the summer it is great for a water card (and is super with kraft paper) and in the winter it makes the perfect backdrop for snowmen! It goes well with neutrals and is also super with colors, like pink and green and even red!

As usual, my photos don't do the image justice, but you can see her great line work in the close up! He is so fun to color and could be colored to match with any paper!

well, enough babbling.

You may want to get on your way! Your next stop is Jak's blog, Crafter's Kitchen.

Enjoy your trip. I know you'll find inspiration along the way! And for more inspiration, the Challenge Team for Mo has their second challenge starting today!

I've had some wonderful comments on this POST for my blogoversary candy! Thank you so much!

It is open until Sunday, 'cuz DH and I are taking off on a little trip! If this post schedules correctly (fingers crossed!) I'll get another card posted for Friday-the Copic Creations challenge.

Have a great day!

It's a Blog Hop for Angel's Landing!

Remember when I said there was a lot going on this week including some surprise work?
This is it! Judi of Angel's Landing asked me to participate in her new release blog hop! If you're reading this, they are available at Angel's Landing RIGHT NOW! Judi has designed some awesome penguins with and without winter attire and some gorgeous birds and birdhouses! If you've started the blog hop here, please go to the link above to start at the beginning. There are 14 participating and some giveaways, too! I couldn't resist the baby penguins! I used copics to color him. (Colors listed below) I believe that baby Emperor penguins are a grayish brown fuzz so that's why my penguin is gray. Gosh, he's cute!
My dp is Basic Grey, Eskimo Kisses and MME Stomp from the Abbey Road collection. I used retired SU Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss card stock. My snowflakes are punched from white and then "dusted" with Adirondack stream ink ( with my stencil brush). Then covered in Matte Accents for glue and dipped in Glitter Glass. (These are the snowflakes that Anna Wight created last year! Waving "Hi" to Anna!) the layout is a Mojo Monday sketch. Thanks, Julee!
I'm the end of the hop so....
If you've been around "the hop" then click head to Angel's Landing to see the whole release!
Thanks for visiting! Please scroll down to yesterday's post to enter for my Blogoversary Candy-open until Sunday, Oct. 18 @ 9:00 am ET

B is for......

Buttons, bows, blue AND BLOGOVERSARY!!

I'm so glad you stopped in today! Cottage Creations is one year old!! It was a big step for me to do this and it is thanks to Diana Crick that I made the leap! She asked me to design for her with Magnolia images that she was just beginning to sell in the states and Canada! See below for blog candy info!

I love these images so much that I wanted the opportunity to show more stampers how beautiful they are. If I've inspired you in this past year I'm so grateful and you've inspired me ten times as much with your wonderful support and comments! I thank you!!

Enough gushing! I rushed to finish this card this morning and am happy with it. It has an old fashioned appeal with the light blue and cream. Actually Tilda's dress was a "clean, light blue" and not a good match so I took E42 and dirtied it up a bit!

I used confetti cream card stock from SU for the base. The dp is from a K& Co pad called Bailey.

The rest is pretty self explanatory, I hope and the copics I used are as follows:

E0000, E01, E93 skin; Y21, E17 and E25 hair; B41, B21, B0000 and E42

I'm pulling my blog candy together. It will certainly include a Basic Grey pad, a couple of Magnolia images, and a card that I would love to make for you! And probably more...

Just leave a comment here for this card and details will follow as soon as I can get my act together. Say anything you like in your comment (keep it clean! :) or tell me what is keeping you busy these days-work, deadlines, kids, whatever!

This is Jam Tilda,

Available now at

Magnolia-licious

With deep appreciation, I must get ready for work!
Have a great Tuesday!
Huge stampin' hugs,
Cheryl

YOU Rock!

Good morning! My followers have grown to 276 and I am so grateful to you! So this one is for you!

I used Totally Stampalicious', Rockin' Frawg to make this bright card! There is always a Monday challenge which you can find HERE at the blog!
Today's is to make a shape card-different from the normal A2 size. Now I didn't know what the challenge would be when I made my card, but I can't enter anyway-YOU CAN!
My Frog is simply colored in R81 and R83 and her guitar is colored in E17 and E25 with a little YR24 for blending.
I've added a little Spica gold pen for the guitar strings. The sentiment in the set is in one line, but I used my SU black marker to make it into 3 lines to fit my punch.
Thanks for stopping by! Lots coming up this week! There will be a CCC challenge, a Mo's DT event and I get to make a surprise appearance (Wed.) for a new release from another company.
having the day off is great! I better get to my stamping!
Hope you have a great day! Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians! Happy Columbus Day to fellow Americans!

FS170 Just for fun!

Hi! I made this quick card this morning for the Featured Stamper on SCS, Glowbug.
I didn't get far into her gallery (her MOST recent card!) before being grabbed by this one:
Halloween, but not Halloween.
Well, mine is definitely Halloween! I used a base of Kraft embossed with a new Cuttlebug folder-Victoria. (Why can't cuttle bug make Emb folders larger like the Sizzix ones!?)
The other brown is Soft Suede and then I pulled out some old Vintage Violet and even used embossing powder! The tree and owl are also stamped and embossed in a "coffee" embossing powder (I was too lazy to look for the black!)
I punched a 1 1/4 inch circle from a sticky note and used it to mask where I wanted the moon. I sponged Vintage violet, eggplant and pumpkin pie. when I removed the mask I sponged summer sun and pumpkin pie to give color to the moon. It's a little more orange IRL.
The spellbinder fancy tags are terrific and I cut that from Apricot appeal. Done!
No copics! a real shocker, I know!
Thanks for coming by to look! My blogoversary is really looming now! I will be doing a giveaway, but I do have some things coming in the mail to add to it!
Have a great Sunday! More stamping this afternoon! Yeah!!

Magnolia-lcious Challenge!

The challenge is to make an easel card which turned out to be easy and fun! I think my difficulty was being torn between my wonderful Halloween images and all the terrific Winter and Holiday cards I'm seeing! I decided to forego the monochromatic part of the challenge and do a Halloween card.
Perhaps you saw the ones that Claudia (my stampin' hero!) made using the Easter window and this same paper? They are wonderful cards and I fully admit to stealing her idea! I put the window with Tilda with Kitten (available at Magnolia-licious) and also used the bat, both pumpkins and the spider!
So I've also channeled the wonderful Sharon Caudle and Jacque Beddingfield and made a scene card!
I think this little Tilda looks like a witch in training!
It is gloomy here, but I persisted in taking outdoor pictures so I've posted many hoping for a decent one!

I'll keep the rest short! Here are the colors I used:
Skin E000, E01, and E93
C1, C3, C5 and C00 for her dress
W1, W3, W%, W00 and C9 for the window as well as BG0000, Bg10, Bg72
Y21, Y17, YR65, YR16 Y0000, E99
Hair Y21, E17, E99 and E25

I guess that's it for now! I'm off to start cleaning the attic and throwing away stuff not needed!
The FABULOUS cards from the other designers can be seen by clicking on the Magnolia Highlites blog link to the right! Please take a look! They are AMAZING!!

Hope you have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for stopping by!

Mo's Perple Challenge!

I had started this image and couldn't decide on the color for her clothes-The Perple Challenge at Mo's Challenge Blog (well, I think Bella and Bronte have something to do with it!) gave me the perfect color and SUs Cottage Wall is such a great paper collection. Once the colors were chosen the card came together quickly, though I will never be one of those 15 minute card makers that I admire so much!
Of course, then I end up taking photos in a rush in the morning with no time to fuss with the lighting. The close up came out better and it's all about this adorable image!
And, nope, I didn't have perple pearls! I colored them with V09 copic!

Thanks for coming by today!
Cheryl

In Love with my die cuts Tilda!

Yes, as you can see I do love my die cuts! I've had this Tilda colored for a couple of weeks and just could not find the right layout! My plan was to make her a Fall Tilda even though she came out in the summer collection. She is available right now at Magnolia-licious! Sort of fun to give her another purpose! (Especially since we can't yet get our hands on the so Spooky collection!) I recently bought these new die cuts -the vine (it's huge!), the leaves and labels 9. So why not toss them all onto one card! I don't know if you can see that there is some sparkle added to her fall bouquet. I hope so. the orange gingham is actually one of those die cut sheets of dp. It's from Pink Paislee.
I love the effect you get when you emboss the die (using the tan mat thingy) and then sponge a deeper color onto it. It's a need surprise when you pop it out of the die. (Yes, I know, I'm easily entertained :)

I'm afraid I didn't keep a color list and that I haven't been doing very well about it lately. I've had a request from Gwen for colors on a recent card so I'm vowing (again!) to do better at that. I promise to get back to you Gwen-I'll look for the color list tonight!
Hope you have a great Tuesday!
Thanks so much for stopping by! (Blogoversary next week, so I hope you'll keep coming back!)
Hugs to you all!
Cheryl
Other news-there is so much going on this week!
Here is the Mos' Digital Pencil first ever challenge- Bella and Bronte's blog
AND Totally Stampalicious is having a huge sale which ends this evening (40%-now that's HUGE!)

FS139

Hi and happy Sunday! I don't often get the chance to particpate in SCS challenges anymore and I just love them. I've mentioned before that the Featured Stamper is my favorite. Today's FS is Lois, Clownmom and I cased an Autumn card of hers using my Papertrey ink pumpkins and this always simple but elegant layout. The picnic basket is stamped directly on Kraft cardstock, in case you were wondering.

I hope you like it!
I have some work to do and then I'll get back to the couple of Magnolia cards I'm working on. I know many of you visit to see the Magnolias! I love them, too!
Hugs, Cheryl

Joyful!!

This wonderful, joyful image is one of Mo Manning's digital images from Digital Pencil Too

Her artistry is fabulous and if you haven't heard of her, you're in for a coloring treat! I bought this image awhile back and when SCS posted a color challenge for Suede, pink and white I KNEW this was the image I wanted to try it with. I was determined to put them all in brown and yet not all blend as one, three headed nun! I love how it came out and it will be difficult to give away, but I have the perfect friend to receive it!
The nuns are colored with my copics and they have a sepia look to them like an old photo. I used the pink behind them to make them glow. I used my new Gold Spica glitter pen to do their belts and rosaries (sp?). The subtle gold sparkle looks so great IRL. (Did I mention that I love how this one came out?)

This is one of the cards I used to apply for Mo's Design (Dream) Team and I'm so happy that I was one of the chosen. Great things are coming! One thing I need to do is become more active in Paper Craft Planet again!
It will have to be later because my "stay at home day" has been interrupted by an invitation from my sisters to go out for a bit. I'll give Dave the to do list and have him get started!
It is World Card Making Day and there are details of the Magnolia-licious challenge (on SCS) posted on the Magnolia Highlites blog this afternoon. -link to the side. I plan to check in, too!
Until later! Cheryl

Happy Froggin' Friday!

I'm so happy that the weekend is starting! (Well, after work today, it is!)
I made this card for a fella with a birthday coming it up and to let you know about the Totally Stampalicious challenge for the week-to make a guy card! I kept mine simple, 'cuz that's how guys are! (JK!!)

Details are at the Totally Stampalicious blog!
This guy is from the Rockin' Frawg set that is available here at Totally Stampalicious.

He was so much fun to color! I had to start with him being the traditional greens, but I already have him (her?) colored up in pinks for another card! There are lots of other stamps in the set, too!

Here are the colors I used:
YG91, 93, 95 and 97 (these are must have greens!)
YR24 and E25 for the guitar, and I just grabbed a coral color for mouth and cheeks and am not sure which one!
He colored up very quickly!
I don't have a star punch so I used my SU 5 petal flower to simulate the star! A little clever, I thought!

I'm so happy to say that Mo has accepted me to join the Digital Pencil Too design team! Whooo Hooo am I every happy about that! She has put together TWO great teams. I'll get links connected this weekend, but I just wanted to tell my good news in case you hadn't seen it. I'll have a card tomorrow made with one of her digital images.

Thanks so much for visiting! My number of followers keeps growing and I can't express how appreciative I am to YOU!! I'm getting some blogoversary candy together because that's in less than two weeks!
Have a great FRIDAY!! (Just the word makes me happy, happy, happy!)
Hugs, Cheryl

CCC-Pumpkins!

Happy first of October!! I love everything about October-the weather cools (but isn't cold!), sweaters come out, the leaves on the trees are so beautiful, crisp, sunny days, colorful mums-I love it all! This is a perfect challenge for this time-Coloring Pumpkins with copics! I HAD to do more than one pumpkin on my card!! See details at the Copic Creations Blog. (If it's not up yet, it will be soon!) You HAVE GOT to see the work done by the other designers! WOW!!

This challenge is being sponsored by Christine at All That Scraps! Thank you! I got the digital download for the pumpkin (only $2.25!). Then I just kept copying and pasting it onto my Word document until I filled the page. I changed the sizes of the TWO pumpkins in the download so I got all different pumpkins when I printed it out on my Neenah Classic cardstock! Neat, huh?

I always start with a more yellow shade to color pumpkins, rather than orange. Then I layer oranges in the shadowed areas until I get the color I want. I use my light markers (from he last release of new colors) to blend with. They're the ones with 0000 after the letters.
My card is 51/2" x 51/2" to accommodate ALL my pumpkins!
Here are the copic colors I used:
Skin E000, E01, E93
Hair E42, E43, E55, E25
Blue jeans B0000, B21, B93, B95
Greens YG91. YG93, YG95, YG0000. YG97
Pumpkins Y17, YR15, YR16, YR18, YR09. E08, YR0000
