VINTAGE PICNIC shape card

Hello!  I love when I see shape cards while blog hopping!  It's why I bought a few of the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities! So here is one of mine!
I used a Kraft base, then a layer of cherry cobbler.  To get a close match in size, they are cut from the same nestability shape and then carefully trim off the edge.  The dotted paper (My Mind's Eye) is cut from the 2nd size nestie. I didn't want to sew the curves so I used faux stitching with a black marker.  The daisy image was stamped on cream paper (looks white here) and colored.  The picnic basket was stamped on kraft and then colored with copic markers.  I used a white pen on it too.  The disc is raised on dimensionals and then the twine is tied around the whole card.
Of course, I finished by adding stickles (in yellow) to the centers of the flowers.

Gotta run.  Please come back tomorrow~It's the first of a new month so Magnolia-licous will have a BRAND NEW challenge for you!!
Thanks for visiting!!

Fight Like a Girl!!

Good day to my stampin' friends!!  I guess posting a Maggie on Monday makes it Magnolia Monday!! I made this card on Sunday to send a friend who's been going through treatments for breast cancer.  I saw this image used the same way a while ago and HAD to have it!!  It's perfect with the sentiment, "Fight like a Girl!"  Someone should put that on a stamp!!
I used #220 BOXING TILDA from the best source for Magnolias on the planet-MAGNOLIA-LICOUS!!  I made a soft place for my Tilda to stand with Martha Stewart's branch punch and some tiny flowers-hand held 1/4" flower punch.  I used papers fromt he new My Mind's Eye collection Howdy Doody.  It's always hard to pick a favorite with MME, but I think mine is this collection (for now!)  You will see more of it later in the week!
Here is a close up! I think any girl fighting should have sparkly boxing gloves and socks!

So, I've got to get to work! Thanks for stopping by and have a Marvelous Monday!!

simple flower card

Hello!  I have a simple (no coloring) card that I made for a friend's  birthday which is today!  She loves all things purple so colors were easy to choose!  I used my new Papertrey Ink set from the Flower Fusions collection (#12)  I love plaid!!
It is very simple, I know!  I stamped the leaves right on the white and then stamped and cut the flowers.  I cut Papertrey Ink's fence and then used my Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder to give it more texture.  Sponging with vintage photo shows the grain of the wood fence.
I used pool party ink and my cloud template for the sky and a small piece of dp with my punched grass for the ground.
Guess that's it for today!! Please return this week to see some other things I've been up to!!
Thanks for coming by!!
Have a great day!

FS263, FLORAL

Hello!!  With the upcoming week off I took some time today to do what I want, figuring that the house can wait a day!  I finished this card for the featured stamper, Beccabatgirl on SCS.
I used a kraft card base and stamped in vintage cream ink.  I used a leaf image from Turning a New Leaf.  Then I built the floral arrangement using Kittie747's blog for guidance!  I guess that's about it except to say, I hope you'll return early Monday morning (ET) because Magnolia-licious has a SUPER BLOG HOP planned for you!! Just wait until you see the projects!!
For tonight though, I'll say so long and clean up the mess I made!!
Have a good night!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANGIE!

Hello!! My sincere apologies!! I don't know where the time has gone! I try to create and... NOTHING!!  No MOJO!! But...I made Angie Hunt a b-day card..finally.  I saw this card from Kittie747 and knew I had to have this Tim Holtz brick wall!
I cut it from Very Vanilla and sponged with the same colors Kittie used, Fired Brick and then Vintage photo inks. I envisioned a vine going up the lattice on the side of a brick building.  I'm not sure I achieved the effect I wanted, but when I place adorable Edwin (#117 from Magnolia-licious, the BEST store for Magnolias!!mini version is in stock) in front of it, I was happy with the results!  I hope you (and Angie) like it too!

I hope I'm remembering correctly that Angie has a little boy. I'll bet he's giving her a special Valentine today!
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!! Dave is taking me out to our favorite restaurant tonight! Yep, even though it's Tuesday! Can't wait!
But...it's of too work right now!
Hugs, cheryl

HEART QUILT

Hello!! Not much time for crafting this week, but there is a new challenge on IBFChallenges so I wanted to show you this card!  Our theme is LOVE!!
I used this great image from I Brake for Stamps and what seem to be my favorite colors lately!! The image is colored with copics.  When the color seemed too bright to go with kraft I just added a little E30 or E31 to 'dull' it down.  Without a lot of fussing I wanted it to look like a quilted wall hanging so I added the tabs and pearls at the top.
Couldn't leave out the stardust stickles, of course! In real life there is lots of sparkle!!  My papers are cosmo Cricket (the dotted) and My Mind's Eye (Blush collection of Lost and found)

Thanks for coming by for a look at what I've been up to!! So happy it's the weekend-gotta get back to my studio!!
Have a good one yourself!!  And please consided entering our LOVE challenge at I Brake for Challenges. Online galleries post with IBFCC18.  You don't have to use an IBFS image, but if you have one, please do!!  Here's the link to my HEART QUILT. FEBRUARY CHALLENGE!!

Hi!! It's February!! Hard to believe, but it's already time for another Magnolia-licious challenge!!  We are thrilled with all the entries for our January, Anything Goes challenge!! they were fabulous!!  The winner will be chosen by Random.org and posted very soon on the blog and in the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group!  Stay tuned!
Okay, on to the new challenge!! It's brought to us by our dear, Patti Jo!  The theme is perfect for our Maggies, VINTAGE/SHABBY CHIC!! There is also an option of adding a key.

I will have to post another pic because I did add a heart and key 'lock' to my notepad after I took these pics!!
My dear friend, Michele Ghent (mithcygitchygoomy on SCS) made these notepads for our Stampfest gathering last year.  I'd been meaning to CASE her fabulous work, so here is my take on it. It's the size of the notepads from Papertrey ink, 'cuz that's what's inside!  It's a 61/2 W x 81/4 L rectangle, scored at 1'. 1-1/4". 3-3/4 and 4". Below you can see the inside, where there is a hidden basic grey magnet to keep the pad closed up! Simple and genius, that's Michele!!
Here is my coordinating card, which is 4'x4".  I used some of the same elements so they would work well together, but not be matchy, matchy! KWIM?
Another shot of both. It's hard to tell in the small pics which is a better shot, so I used both!
I hope you like!! I would like to send this to one of you, so if you'd care to leave a comment, I will choose a winner on the weekend!  I'm still fighting this cold and I really appreciate you hanging in there with me between posts!!
Have a wonderful day and please check out the beautys on the MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS HIGHLITES BLOG!!  I see that the challenge is no posted just yet, so you have a little heads up on it!  I know Suzanne is at CHA, but she is so efficient that I know she will have it posted before too long! There's sure to be a great prize from our wonderful Diana!!
Have a great day!!! (See you tomorrow for my card for the I Brake for Challenges challenge #18!  The new challenge will be up at 7:00 am ET!!
