Stand up for Nicole!

Hi! I made this card for the Featured Stamper on SCS today, my friend Nicole, Butterflyears!
Love her work! This was a TLC on SCS in July and I never got around to making one.
Today was the day! I've used a digital image that Mo had on Paper Craft Planet for FREE! She does that once in a while as she reaches new milestones in membership! Generous!
I seem unable to end my love affair with Kraft card stock! I was going to use white for this card, but the 12 x12 white I have is so flimsy! Back to my Kraft!
There may be a lot of pink appearing this week too! I just love this Bo bunny double dots paper! It's stored in a different place in my craft room so sometimes I forget about it! When I come upon it again I go crazy!
Speaking of craft rooms-I have taken some pictures while it was clean and will work on a post tonight! I also have a Magnolia card for tomorrow!

Colors for this image are as follows:
face E000, E01 and R20
Hair E31, E99, E25, E59
pinks: R0000, R20, R22, R24
other, BG0000, E40, E43,C1, C3, C5

Well, have a great Sunday! Hope you can visit tomorrow and thanks so much for coming by today!

In Love with Maynard!

Hi everyone! This is my valentine for my DH and it's finished early! Yeah! I decided to use unconventional valentine colors with this great little dragon! Michelle sent me a few images of him to work with! Thanks, Michelle! I want to color him in every color and hope to own this image soon! My papers are Basic Grey Sugar Rush-the green is a 12 x 12 sheet and the orange is from the pad. I also used Kraft cs and Pumpkin Pie card stock. I did some more sewing! Of course, he is colored with my copics and stickles added!
I'm so sorry-I've misplaced the list of colors that I just had an hour ago! If I find it I'll post my colors.
Really glad today is Friday-ready for the weekend. It's cold and snowy-why not stay home and papercraft!? That's my plan!
Have a great day!

Huggable Henry!

I just love these Henry images! He is so cute, huggin' his heart! I didn't use nearly all of the Christmas ones they made! I wish there wasn't holly on all of them so they could be used for winter cards.
Sorry, that's a bit off topic!

Another love is Cosmo Cricket papers! And my new love-SEWING on cards! It's so fun to see the results! Mine isn't always straight, but it makes me happy!

Henry is colored with my copic markers, of course in W1, W3, W5 and W7 and then a little E31. The heart is R14, R24, R46.

I emboss my nestability and while still in the die I use a 1" stencil brush to swirl color on lightly. The colors I used on this one are Aqua mist and then some Distress Vintage Photo to dull the Aqua.

I was really stuck for embellishments-no good match in the flowers that I had and there was no good match in card stock so back to the Cosmo line I went and cut hearts from my nestabilities and cardboard to make my own chipboard embellishments! The red one is raised on dimensionals.

That's about it for this one! Thanks so much for stopping by today and for your comments! Another valentine tomorrow! Have a great day!

Elizabeth Taylor Eyes for LLWWC23!

Hello to you! Well, the lavender eyes may be a bit much, but I couldn't resist since I had so much purple going on here! As some of us say often-this is so much better in person!Kim brought us our challenge this Wednesday which was to make a gift card holder. She must have been reading my mind because I had just bought this purse template after seeing it on SCS! Couldn't wait to try it and didn't have to! Thanks, Kim!
Here's the link to the La La Land Craft Blog for more details and a PRIZE
I've used Razzberry Fizz dp from SU on my white bag. I am having such a time printing on card stock with my printer! I CAN print on Neenah Classic Solar White though and that's what I did.

My close up of Lala and below is the inside. I love, love, love that included in the template is the pattern for this little pocket to hold your gift card! Then you could also add a couple of pieces of candy in the purse.
Thanks to Humma on SCS I found this site for the template, just in case you're interested too!

Guess I'll call it a night! Had book club last night so am SLEEPY!
thanks so very much for visiting!
See you tomorrow (yes, I DO have a card done!)

Christmas Blog Hop!

Julie of our Magnolia-licious group had this great idea that we could have a blog hop including anyone in the group who wanted to join her in making a Christmas card on the 25th of each month! Fun, huh? Well, there is a great group of stampers ready to participate this month! If you are already hopping you have come here from Carole's blog Fibre Junkie. Julie is at the beginning if you want to start there! There was a suggested stamp, but I went with one I had started to color before and never finished. Her skin was colored, not all of her. I'm someone who is "in the season". I don't usually make cards too far ahead and I'm not good at getting my Christmas cards done early. This challenge is very different for me! So, I went with Tilda with her Roses and kept it quite simple.
My card is 4.5 x 5.5". The paper that is cuttlebugged is from a 6 x6 Basic Grey pad and the Burgundy card stock is from Papertrey Ink. I sort of checked out the Featured Stamper on SCS and saw a few cards with the border punch at the bottom like this and the card was done!
I'm sorry my photos aren't very good (no matter how much I tilt my computer screen!).
The colors I used are as follows:
E000, R20 and E01
R14, R46, R89 and R000
YG97 and YG99
E33, E15, E59, E25, E40, E42
YR21, Y17 W1, W3, W5
Your next stop on the hop is DEB, enjoy what she has (and take a look at her other blog entries-WOW!!) and enjoy the hop!
Now I need to choose winner of the Pretty in Pink (Edwin) card from one week ago:
Here we go:
My winner is comment # 125-JODIE FROM OZ!! Actually, I thinkshe is from Australia!
Jodie, please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com so I can get your package sent!
Thanks!
Oh, yes, THANK YOU so much for allthe great comments on my Mos' cupid treat bag-I appreciate them soooooo much!

Goodie Bag challenge!

Hi! It's time for Mo's Design Team to offer up our monthly challengeand blog hop! Welcome to ya! Our challenge is brought to us by Kerrtu! If you started here you may want to back up one so you don't miss what she's made! Mo designed this adorable little cupid for us to use, but you can get it here at Mo's Digital Pencil.
My goodie bag is the small treat bag with tin ties from Papertrey Ink. It looks like I tied my round tag to the top, but I actually left some embroidery thread on the back and taped it onto the bag.
I took the picture below so you could see the shimmer from the shimmerz (angle wings) that I painted on. Cupid is colored with my copics. E000, E01, R20 for the skin. Bg0000 and BG10 for the wings and lace.
I used E31, E33 and E25 for the hair with a little E59. For the heart I used R0000, R11, R21, R22 and R45.

the sentiment is from a PTI set with hearts from last year. It also has "Forever" on it, but I colored just the words love you with a black SU marker and stamped it.
Now, on you go to Rachel's Blog, Papercrafts by Rach.
I'm sure she's made something wonderful with this image!
Thanks for coming by-please remember you can check the post from Monday and enter a comment to win my Magnolia prize!
Have a great day!

Pretty in Pink!?

Hi and welcome to the Magnolia-licious monthly Blog Hop! We are so glad you're here! If you came by way of the very talented Jacque of Jois de Vivre, you're on the right track! If you want to start at the beginning that would be the amazing Claudia at Pretty Pressings. Our goal was to entertain you with lots of pink! Well, I just may be a little off track with mine! EDITED TO ADD: APOLOGIES! PLEASE START WITH THE FANTABULOUS KERRY OVER AT THREE CLOVERS! She's got the most romantic card and evokes memories!

My plan was to be funny and do this as my SECOND card with one sporting Tilda as my FIRST! Well, that joke was on me as DH and I finished my craft room this weekend leaving precious little time for actually MAKING cards!! I had this guy colored up from a couple of days ago so quickly got him onto a pink card!
Of course, my Edwin image came from MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS and I think he is so versatile! He's number 107 and is in stock! My dp is retired SU Raspberry Tart with a card base of Purely Pomegranate.
My pink copics are R81, R83, R85
Blues are B21, B41 and B45. His skin is E000, E01 and R20.
Thanks so much for hopping and stopping here and now your next stop is the wonderful Suzanne Dean over at ScrapBitz.
If you would like to leave a comment I would love to send this card out to you with a little pad of Basic Grey paper as a thank you for visiting! Please join in on our theme and create your own card for a chance to win a load of pink stuff, including stamps, I'm sure! You can see the prize and upload your card at our blog-Magnolia-licious Highlites!
Again, my thanks!
Big Maggie hugs,

La-La Lands Weekly challenge!

Hi! Just want to let you know that La-La Land Crafts has a challenge up to make a shape card for their Weekly Wednesday Challenge. Here's mine! There are some great cards posted at the blog by Irina's fab design team! When you go to La-La Land Crafts Blog
you'll want to take a look at the top post! La-La Land's new release stamps arrived earlier than planned so they are in the store RIGHT NOW! And that's not all! Irina is also having a special-BUY THREE GET ONE FREE! You buy three and you get your choice of a free one! Wow!
I hope you can go check them out!

My card is quite simple. I love to make shape cards with my Nestabilities and Window Lala is the center of this chocolate brown flower! This type of card is also a nice small card to put on a gift as a tag. I colored her with my copics and cut her out so I could raise her on dimensionals. The dp is by cosmo cricket.

I used copics E000, E01 and R20 for her skin and lips. Her eyes are E33 and E25. Her hair is Y21, E33 and E25 and the blue is BG0000, and BG72. the front piece of her dress is E40 and 41.

Comfortable!

What's more comfortable than a good book, a great chair and a cozy quilt! Not much, I tell ya!

Glad you're here! You've come upon another Copic Creations Challenge since it's the 15th of the month! This fortnight our challenge is to color Ethnic Skin Tones. I used E31, E33 and R20 to color this little cutie's skin. Our images today are from

Phindy's Place

She has an Etsy store where you can buy her digital images-remember Mo started this way!

My image is called Reading Chair, but if you visit I hope you'll have a look around at the other images too. The Copic Creation Challenge blog has all the information you'll need to participate in the challenge. Use whatever images you have to play along! I think there's a prize!

To answer a couple of questions:

I use dimension squares by EK Success called 3d dots. They are 1/8" thick and I pick them up when I'm at Michael's.

A Janome is just a brand name for a small sewing machine. Mine came from Hancock Fabrics, I think. They run from 40.00-60.00. Just easy to get out and work with.
The Edwin on the heart is from the Magnolia Winter kit. Hopefully they will release it as an individual stamp and then I know Diana will carry it at Magnolia-licious. The heart is from the Valentine collection last year.
I guess that better be it as my post is getting a little long. I'll be back this weekend with a La-La Land shape card for the weekly challenge. See link at side.
AND on Monday is the Monthly Magnolia-licious Blog Hop which is all about PINK!
Come on back when you can and thanks for all the wonderful comments!

Edwin's Thinking of You!

Hi! Here's the card I said I'm not too sure about. I colored up Edwin and the Heart on Sunday and then couldn't find paper or a layout ! Happens to me far too often! Finally, on Monday night I found this small heart paper on the back of another design and it looked better than the ones I'd been trying. The card base is 4.5" x 5.5"
Here he is close up!
Thanks for the great comments on all of our snow! I loved reading about the weather in other parts of the world and read them all to my DH!
Some of you are sweet enough to suggest that I do a tutorial. I'm sorry, but I really don't know how to do one. When I color I just blend like crazy with the blender or with a lighter color and keep a light area somewhere on the piece.
The colors on this card are:
E000, E01 and R20
Hair-I'm sorry, I didn't keep track.
Jeans B41,
Pinks R81, R83, R85, R89
Shirt, socks and arrow point E41, E43, E25
Around heart W00. W3
Stencil brush surrounding Aqua Mist.

Birthday Snowman!

This is a card I finished on Sunday using Mo's Perfect Snowman! It's for a good friend of mine at school. In fact, she was the aide in my classroom and we worked closely together for 16 years. My job was changed this year and though the new job is fine I sure miss working with Eileen! Because of Valentine's Day I've been working with lots of pink lately so I kept going with it for this. I used this older (and beloved!) Cosmo Cricket paper. To keep the vintage look I used E41 and E43 on the blues of the snow and on the pink to dull it a bit.

Santa Dave brought me a Janome and I've practiced on a card, but this is the first I've posted. I know it's not good, but stitching doesn't have to be perfect on a vintage look card. Does it?!
Well, I have a lot to learn, I know! Please don't look to harshly upon it.

I used the wonderful pink rose shades of R81, R83, R85 for the pinks
BG0000 and BG10 for the aqua. A dark brown for his mouth and buttons
and the E41, E43 and a little E25 for the browns. I added some stickles after I took the photos.

Thanks for looking! Come see a Magnolia card tomorrow, thought it's not yet done and I'm not sure I like it-I'll show you anyway!
Have a great Monday!
Hugs, Cheryl

Natural light by the window~

The Perfect Snowman's close up~
You have until tomorrow to leave a comment on this POST to win a Lala with heart stamp!

A Quick Card and some photos!

Hello, good friends! Just thought I'd show a quick card today so you know I'm thinkin' of ya!
I used the little tree stamp from the recent Magnolia collection. I like it all by itself so I made a little frame from Baja Breeze and mounted on a white card! A few stickles and Done!

Now these are photos from 12:00 on Saturday from our deck looking into the back yard! It has not stopping snowing from January 2 until today! Finally we saw a little sunshine on our beautiful snow!

I hope you've enjoyed looking a winter in Western New York!
Have a great day!

Pug Love!

I'm a sucker for a cute animal image and look at this little guy! He's one of Mo Manning's digital images called Pug Love. The link to Mo's store is on my sidebar. The image is $3.00. We also have a DT blog where you can see some other examples of Mo's recent images used on cards.I have Riding Hood Red, the regular SU Red, Real Red and Poppy Red. None of them is quite right. So I went with a Kraft card and cream borders. The scalloped circle is Real Red sponged in Walnut distress ink.
The pug is colored with copic markers and then cut from the circle nestability. I leave it in the die and use my dry stencil brush on an ink pad then brush onto the circle. This one is PTI's Aqua Mist then a touch of River Rock (SU retired) to dirty it up a bit. I swirl my stencil brush on the ink pad, then on scrap paper to remove the heaviest of the ink, then go to my project. It takes a few times because you are building the color slowly and softly.
The copics I used are:
E30, E42, E53, E33, E55, E25, E29 and E49 (The darker ones are to give his expressive eyes depth not for the dog's body.
W3, W5, W7 for the black on the face, C7 for his nose
R20 and R30 for the heart and a touch on the cheeks.
Well, it's bedtime for me!
See you soon, I hope! Thanks so much for visiting!

La-La Land Crafts New Release! (and Blog Hop!)

Welcome to the New Year with La-La Land Crafts! We would like to invite you to our New release Blog Hop where we'll be introducing NINE new images! These images will be available on Jan. 20 but you can preorder them now! AND by leaving a comment on each of the blogs you'll be entered to win the stamp that blogger is showcasing! Easy Peasy! Here's the image I got to work with! Lala with Heart! Sweet!
Hi stampin' crafters! Welcome to the La-La Land New Release Blog Hop! If you get lost along the way you can head to La-La Land for the beginning or to see the list of participants! Leave a comment on the store blog and you're entered to win the stamps of your choice!
My card base is a Vintage Cream with a layer of Real Red which has been sponged with walnut distress ink. You can see that better on the Nestability label. The paper is by Cosmo Cricket (Chemistry). I made my little heart charms! I punched two hearts from heavy watercolor paper. Then I punched four from some Cosmo Cricket with a wood grain (Earth Love) and glued one to each side of the watercolor heart, placing my thread in the middle of the sandwich. There's one heart on each end of the double thread and then it's tied around the bow. I couldn't really figure out where to put a sentiment! Inside it goes!

Lala in her close up!
Now before you head off to Maureen's Blog to see her Fab creation, I must tell you that you can win this Lala! Just leave me a comment-say whatever you would like for the chance to win her!
I will choose a winner on January 12! These stamps are very high quality and will be available on January 20, BUT you can preorder yours now over at La-La Land!
Okay, you can go see Maureen now!
Thanks for all the lovely comments yesterday! So glad you liked the post!
Thanks also for coming by today! See you soon, I hope!

Take Two!

I was disappointed that in my previous post this card couldn't be enlarged (and thanks, Candy!)
so I decided to upload just the card again. I really have NO IDEA how Blogger works!
Thanks! Cheryl

Please take a look tomorrow-there is a La La Land Blog hop with new images and I get to show off a really cute one! See ya! Have a great evening!

Edwin's been Framed!

Hi stampin' Friends! I've finished my card for the Magnolia-licious monthly challenge and looking at it makes me sooooooo happy! This challenge was given to us by the very talented
Sharon Caudle.
Thanks, Sharon, this was lots of fun! When Sharon posed this challenge I chose my image right away and since I had just organized my Mags and found this wonderful Winter Fence I was ready to start! I chose my dp last and just colored Edwin in pretty typical "boy" colors. My card base is Kraft-it's my "go to" color when I don't know where I'm going with a card. It matches EVERYTHING!
I cut Edwin out and put him on dimensionals. I tried masking the image, but Edwin's "snow trail" is part of it and it just didn't look right. I think looks better standing out from the scene anyway. There is liquid applique and sparkle (stickles) on the snow.
My Edwin and fence came from Diana at MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS.
Both images are IN STOCK Now! The fence is #571 and Edwin is #147. How great is that! Just put the numbers in the search box and you'll see them.
The pine bough is also from Magnolia Sweden, but you can ask Diana to order it :) It is quite small, but I stamped it a few times.
Claudia has written an excellent tutorial for this kind of card. You can find it linked up at the Magnolia-Highlites Blog where we also hope you'll go to check out the other Fab Mag designers work and send us your own frame card!
(On SCS this type of card is called a Recessed Window and a tutorial can be found in Resources).
I've used copic markers for coloring-no surprise there!
E000, E01 and R20
YG91, YG93 (jacket) YG21, YG93, and YG97 for tree branches.
B21, B41, B45, B97 and a ittle B18
E33, E25 and E29 9fence sled and boots
BG0000, Bg10 for the snow
The sky is Ballet Blue ink (SU) which is brushed on with a dry stencil brush. Then the fence area is filled in with a little of (copic) B41 to match the sky.
Sorry, if I gave more information than you ever wanted about this card!
Have a great day!
Cheryl

Copic Challenge-Fur!

Hi there! Welcome to 2010! DH and I did nothing exciting-ate dinner out and went to a movie. I'm prposting so I'll let you know what I thought of it next time!
The Copic Creations challenge #19 is to color FUR! It's a fun challenge and after you've looked around we hope you'll enter your furry card to win the prize! Please take a look at the Copic Creations Challenge Blog for the other designers' cards and I'm sure Mary has linked something from Maryanne on coloring fur if you need any advice on how to get started!
The prize? It's sponsored by Squigglefly this time and the winner gets their choice of THREE images from the store!

Iused a bit of the "Nasty Rag" technique, but I'm afraid it doesn't show well. Maybe if you click to see him close up. Anyway, I started with my lightest brown and worked my way to the darker colors. Just before the darkest brown (E59) I wet my rag (actually a white face cloth that I use for this technique, it's not "nasty" yet) with blender solution straight from the bottle and blot the image to remove and "mottle" the color a bit. I didn't want to overdo it and remove too much. Finally, I added my darkest color.

Here are the browns I used: E34, E43, E55, E25 and D59.

You have TWO weeks to make and enter a card! We hope you'll join in-what better way to start the New Year!

Cheryl
