MINI MAGNOLIA BINDER BLOG HOP!

Hello dear friends! I am the starting designer for our monthly blog hop! If you get lost along the way, please see the post on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog for the complete order! Our mission was to design the cover of our Mini Binder from Magnolia-licious! A daunting task (for me!) indeed! Can you see the theme I settled on? If you said "A girl for all seasons" you are correct! The difficult part was to choose an image representing each of the seasons! There are so many great stamps in the Mini collection from Diana's wonderful store-the BEST source for these babies AND for the binder!

I decided to cover my whole binder (like we used to cover our books in highschool! Remember?) I used a roll of brown paper to do that. It is perfect because I love working with the 'kraft' color so much! Then I chose my images and colors. I was sort of going for a family photo album look for my cover, so wanted the imagmes to loook framed.

So sorry about the pictures! It was a bright sunny day, but photographing a larger piece was a challenge for me! I finally took it outside and tried there, but then I got shadows. I hope you can see well enough in my close ups.

I used#363 TILDA AND HER BUNNY, #365 SWIMMNING TILDA, # 3071 SNOWY HUG, AND #298 SCARECROW TILDA for my images.

If you would like to see any of these in the store just put in the item and/or the stamp number and it will pop up-in its regular and mini size. Now here is the cool inside! Each page has a slot for a card and your mini image. You stamp the image on the card and fill in the number, name and collection and you can always see what you have! There are 5 insert pages that altogether will hold at least 90 stamps neatly and safely!

Cool beans! And please be aware, it's not the binder that's mini-it's a good size of almost 12" square!

Thanks for dropping in to look! Now off you go to PJS Designs to see what the talented Patti Jo has done with her binder!

And, when you're finished with the hop, we hope you'll look around your craft area and alter something (using Magnoias) to show us! You can WIN one of these binders and 2 mini stamps of your own! GREAT PRIZE!!

Have a Marvelous Monday!!

Things I Love!

I had this card done yesterday and ready to post, but it was not to be! So here's my list of Things I Love:
Saturday mornings that give me time to finish a card! Basic Grey Curio paper! Paper roses that I learned to make from a simple circle! Magnolia images-Large and mini!! Dancing-Not so much! And, of course, most importantly my DH, Dave!
I think this will be his valentine this year! (For the inside, how does. "You make me feel like dancing?" sound?
The image is #3073 MINI Tilda and Edwin dancing. It doesn't seem to be in stock so I've linked the larger one. The roses are from a card made to show the new Spellbinders dies. I'll have to look again for the link. Link now connected below!! The layout is loosely based on a recent Mojo Monday sketch.

Close up of my roses! The whole card is 4.5 x 5.5", by the way. Kim Crawford showed me how to make the Rose HERE! Scroll down and you'll come to it!

My colored image, but I'm so sorry, I forgot to keep the colors. I've had it colored for a while to go with Cosmo paper. When I chose this paper I just added some R59 to get a deeper toned red! I love that about copics!
Thanks for coming by! I love that you did! Happy Sunday to you!

Tag-you're it!

Hi! I'm feeling a little guilty for not getting more posted this week so I'll show you some pics of some of the tags I recently sent to Diana as samples for CHA~
The minis are really fun to work with! I did stamp the cuties on xpress blending card because it is my favorite for coloring. But, I anted the tags to have more structure so the images were cut out and glued onto tags cut from the card stock with the flecks of brown in it. (don't know if I used PTI or Su, but you get the idea!
Then I added shadow around the image with the toner grays in T1 and T3 for more dimension.
I didn't keep track of the colors, so I hope you'll forgive me!
I have so many more of the Minis that I want to get stamped and colored!!
You can get them all at Magnolia-licious AND while you're there you can preorder the You're So Special new collection! OMGoodness! I want them all!!
Hoping to get more done this weekend AND we have Monday off from work! Yeah!!
Also wishing a great day and weekend for YOU!!
(Tomorrow is the 15th and that makes it time for the firs Copic Creations Challenge of 2011~ come on back! (please!)

Another Tag with Tilda!

Hello! Hope you are enjoying your day!
I made another tag last night. This one is more of a Christmas tag, mostly because of the Mini Christmas Tree (#443). I also used Unwrapped Tilda (#3002). Both are from Diana's Magnolia-licious store. The tag is cut from a Vintage cream card stock-the heavy one with the small flecks in it. Mine is either SU or Papertrey. I stamped the tree right on the card stock towards the left. Tilda is stamped on XPress IT card stock and, yes, she has been cut out after I colored her! I had to cut the curl (of her hair) off. :( I tried to draw it back in, but I'm no Pauline!!

Anyway, Tilda is colored as follows. Skin E000, R30, E11
Clothes and wrapping R81, R85, R87, and R59. the box is E42 and E43.
The tree is colored with G40, 21, 85 and 99. I just tried to fill the tree in with shades of color.
I wanted the tree to look different than the sparkle on the wrap and her dress so I used Diamond stickles on it and Stardust on her. The Diamond sparkles in yellow highlights like candlelight. Makes me happy! Here's the link to Magnolia-licious Mini World
I sponged the edges of the tag with Vintage Photo and then scribbled stitching on the edges.
That's it!
I'm off to begin some reorganizing-either the kitchen or studio-not sure which!
Best wishes for your day and thanks so much for the nice comments you leave!
Cheryl
p.s. You have until TUESDAY EVE to enter your name over on Jacque's blog to win a 25.00 gift certificate from Diana!! It's called the Sunday Sensation and you can enter each and every Sunday!!

The Day After!

Oh, well, I had plans to post yesterday, they just didn't work out! I finished this tag early in the morning, 'cuz I get up reeeeally early (not just Christmas, every day off!). Then I didn't get it photographed until company left just a bit ago today! These mini images are lots of fun to work with. This is #3060 SECRET TILDA from the collection. You can find her (and many others!) here at MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS.
I cut my tag using the Doohickey vintage tag die.
I cut it from some cardboard that comes with your paper so it is thin chipboard weight! We crafters don't waste a thing, do we?! You can see it's a little thick for the small holes to punch out, but I like it anyway! I stained the edges with a sponge and vintage photo ink. I stamped an old SU snowflake image around the edges in Fresh Snow ink. Then I used a black thin marker for fake stitching.
I use my Cutterbee scissors to cut out small images and that's how I cut Secret Tilda out of the Xpress card stock that she was colored on. She's colored in Blue Violet shades of copics with r81, R83 and R87 on her package.
I think she would be a great tag on a gift for a January birthday!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas day and weekend with your loved ones. It's a little sad for me when it's over. I better not dwell on it though, because with the week off I want to do some organizing at home!
Hugs, Cheryl

Angel mini

Greetings! Today is the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group Christmas All Year Long blog hop! You can read all about it at the blog HERE!
If you've come here from Carole's Blog, you're right on track and if not, you can start at the blog or just travel from here.

For my card I used one of the new Minis that will soon be available at Magnolia-licious! I have a couple and cannot wait to get my hands on more! I hope I'm not cheating too much on the card theme as this is a GIFT CARD. I'll need quite a few of those! I used a Spellbinder's die to cut a folded piece of cream card stock. If you leave the die a bit above the fold you get a folded shape card. From there I layered the next size die in blue, then a soft blue snowflake and then the oval with my image. I think you can see I added sparkle and spica wherever I could!
Once I added the ribbon I realized it could also be hung in a tree-hmmmmm...maybe a project for next year-to make lots of these!
Oh, yeah, I do have TWO of the Tilda Mini Angel with the wand! I think I'd like to send it to someone, so please leave a comment if you'd like and I'll pick a winner from the comments on Sunday, November 28! Please only comment if you plan on coming back to see if you've won. I'll ship anywhere!

Thanks so much for coming by! Now off you go to Glenda's Blog. I'm sure there is something yummy to look at there!
Happy Turkey day to all Americans!
