I'm not Lion!!

Hi! This is a late birthday card for a friend of ours. He is the guy who introduced DH and me and he was best man at our wedding. Wouldn't you think I could get a card out on time to someone that important?! Nope! The lion is from Magnolia-licious #492.
The vine behind is Magnolia, but I don't think Diane is carrying it. I probably got it in an order from Sweden.
The papers are all from My Mind's Eye-the Ooh La La collection, For Him. I love the colors and decided to match the darkest color with Always Artichoke (SU!). It would also match grey very well. The paper edges are sponged with Artichoke ink.
The sentiment is one I just picked up Saturday when I was with my Stampin' Friends Lisa (lakind) and Tracy (LodiChick) at the Stamp and Scrap Tour show at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. We had so much fun! It (the sentiment) is by Inky Antics.
I colored htis last night when the lighting wasn't so good and I wasn't real crazy about it this morning. I did not do very much blending. But, I decided to go with it-needed a post and a card for our friend, after all!
The card is 5"x 5". Seems I've gone to more square ones lately, but A2s are still my first love!
I also tilted my papers behind the lion. I've seen sketches like this and beautiful cards done this way. I found out that it is VERY hard for me to do this! I like straight, even edges!

I guess that's it for today! Trying to get some things done, it's back to work tomorrow!

Please return tomorrow though, there will be another Copic creations Challenge post!

Thanks so much for stopping by! YOU'RE THE GREATEST, AND I'M NOT LION!!

Apple Bucket by Magnolia

Hi! No it's not the same card as the other day! I was kind of liking how THIS CARD
came out so I decided to pull out an old favorite and make a companion card! I used the same layout but flipped it and the colors are still from CC233 on SCS the other day. This Apple Bucket stamp looks like it will be available soon at Diana's store. You can go there now and see another card I made with it. In fact if you click on the key words at the bottom of the post you should see more (just pardon my photography, please).
I used exactly the same colors as I used on the strawberry card that I link at the beginning of my post!
I want to say a public Thank You to Judi of Angel's Landing and "Judi's Angels" design team for the last three months of inspiration! It has been great working with all of you!
LASTLY, I AM STILL LOOKING FOR HELEN FROM TOPEKA WHO HAS WON MY HALLOWEEN BLOG HOP PRIZE OF A MYSTERY CARD AND STAMP BY MAGNOLIA! PLEASE CONTACT ME, HELEN!
Thanks so very much for stopping by today! I really do appreciate your visits!

Angels' Landing Friendship!

Hi again! Wow! so soon after last night's post I have another for today! Summer is ending and my posts may become more sporadic again!
Well, here is a box I made with cards inside using Judi's Angel's Landing Toys With Wheels

(PLEASE SCROLL TO NEXT POST FOR WINNER OF THE HALLOWEEN BLOG HOP CONTEST-IT WAS PSOTED LAST NIGHT)
It's such a great set of digital downloads! You not only get six animals on wheels, you get them in different sizes AND sentiment to go with them! Can you say cute!
AAs I made this I thought it would be a perfect little gift for the mom to be. She would have some notes ready for Thank yous to send as baby gifts come in. Particularly when she is so busy after baby is born. This could be enclosed with your baby shower gift. I used Lauren Meader' s Captured Card case from Papertrey Ink and my cards are 4-1/4x 4-1/4. The box would hold lots more cards. I kept them very simple and let my dp by Imaginisce (baby Powder) carry the color scheme. I'm sure you can see they could be fancied up more than what I did.

Afterwards the box could be used to hold precious first pictures of baby or keepsakes like a hospital bracelet or first booties. I'll end now so you can see close ups of all the cards!

Please watch Angel's Landing and the Angel's Landing Blog for her fall team of fabulous designers and new digital sets coming soon as well!
Have a great day! I'm off to go shopping with my older sister today and having lunch out! Yeah!!

CC233 and my winner!!

Well, it's evening here, but I finished today's SCS color challenge so I decided to post!
The challenge is for Kraft, Chocolate and Red! I knew I could do that with many of my stamps, but I picked this one that I picked up in July at my LSS. It's made by Magenta (Canada) I had a Verve card that I had printed out and I used that as my sketch so I think it is a Mojo Monday design. They are always great sketches. I used my Scor-Bug to perforate the Bo Bunny paper to make the fauz stitches. It was so easy! Just placed my paper on the Scor-Pal and zipped the Bug across it for quick holes! Then used my black pen for the stitches.

Of course the berries are colored with my copics. The red bled into the blossom so I went with it being pink but used some white Inkssentials pen on it.
Copic colors used are:
R24, R29 and R59, Y15, Y17, Y18, Y0000, E43, E55, E25, E29, YG06, G29, W1, W2, W5, W7
I was blown away by all the terrific comments about the Halloween blog hop and my project! Thank you so very much! There were more comments than when I gave away about 70.00 worth of stamping stuff a couple of weeks ago! THANK YOU to all!!
I've used Random.org to choose a winner for a mystery card that I'll make and a Magnolia stamp.
The winner is: comment #31-HELEN
(Helen is from Topeka, Kansas) Thanks for your nice comment, Helen! Please contact me at drowley01@earthlink.net with your address and I'll get to work on your card!
Have a great evening! Please return tomorrow for my final Angel's Landing project post as a Guest Designer.

Somebirdy Special!

Hi all!
Well, I didn't finish in time to post yesterday, but I made it today!
This 5x5 card features Tilda with Birdcage and I used the Friday Sketchers sketch to guide my layout! What a great sketch!!

(LINK TO THE CROCHETED FLOWER (BY Nichole Heady) IS AT THE END OF THE POST!)

Tilda's apron is paper pieced with the same Basic Grey paper that I used on the background pieces, from the Oh Baby Girl collection (Lilly and Sarah are the names)

She is colored with copic markers;
E000, E01 and E93
Y21, Y32, YR24, E25, YR15, YR31
BV31, V02, BV13, BV17 and greays C3, C5, C7 and C9 (shoes). I used SU's Lovely Lilac and Barely Banana for my solid cardstock.
As most of my Tilda's do, she has sparkle added with Stardust stickles and the flowers are by Prima.
The Tilda stamps and the sentiment inside are both available from Diana Crick at
Magnolia-licious.
TODAY is her birthday so please head on over and send her a birthday wish!

A close up of this adorable little girl!

One of my non fancy insides ready to be signed and sent!
Here, finally, is the link to the post in which Nichole Heady gives her directions for the crocheted flower that I have used on some of my cards (not this one though!)
ETA: the link works now! Thanks Sharon and Susan for letting me know! (It wasn't you, Susan, it was ME!)
It was the design team challenge that she gave in May on her blog.
I will chose a winner later today (And post it tomorrow) for the mystery candy as stated in Friday's Halloween blog hop post.
Hope your Monday is a blast!

Inside of card!

Hi all! I thought I might have some visitors return today so thought I'd show you the inside of yesterday's Halloween card.
If you didn't have the chance to join in on our blog hop I hope you will today! The Magnificient Magnolia designers have some really awesome projects showcased for you! And giveaways, too!! I do decorate the inside of my cards (well, usually!), but I just don't have the time to do anything fancy. The My Mind's Eye paper made the inside a breeze! I had already colored extra jack o' lanterns (in fact, I placed one next to Tilda on the front last night! Will show that tomorrow.) So I stuck him on and added my sentiment stamped on Bo Bunny paper to match the front, cut it with an oval nestability and called it done!

I read all your wonderful comments yesterday as I worked with DH to paint the living room! It is beautiful! I don't want to hang anything on the walls now!
Thank you so very much!
I will get a card done to post tomorrow, but for now I'm off to do some work at my parents' house. They are both gone and the sale is almost complete. It's very sad and I try not to think about it too much.

Okay, gotta go!
Enjoy this beautiful day!
cheryl

p.s. I WILL also post the link to Nichole's crocheted flower directions tomorrow! I promise!

Halloween Blog Hop!!

Welcome!
This is the day we are having our Halloween Blog Hop for Magnolia-licious! This assignment was perfect for me! Is there anything better than fall colors like orange, black, purple, and yellow! I love them all! And the supplies, oh my! I have paper galore in beautiful patterns and punches and, of course, Magnolia stamps! AND, yes, Suzanne, those ARE Reese's Pieces inside! They are my favorite too and I have no idea how I'm going to keep from eating the rest of the bag!

Now, if you want more details, please go to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. You can keep reading here if you like, because I am the start of the blog hop. Next you will visit the talented Becca Feeken so she can show you what she's been up to (besides those fabulous Christmas ornaments she's been making!)!

We were to use the Halloween theme to make a treat box from a tutorial on the Scor-Pal site.
The tutorial I chose is by Lauren Meader (the great one!) and is called the Make a Wish Window box.
Did you know there are MANY free patterns on the Scor-Pal site? Just go to projects and you will see all the categories. There are about 10 patterns, instructions for each category!

I made my treat box first following Lauren's terrific directions. The box is held together with the fabulous Scor-Tape available at the Scor-Pal website. The spider on the top flap is part of the My Mind's Eye paper called Fright Night. The box itself is made from paper by Creative Imaginations called melange. The card has double dotted paper by Bo Bunny and the damask paper is from Graphic 45, the Communique Collection, Pen in Hand. The neat web netting came from my LSS last year.

The stamps used are as follows: 292, Tilda with spider web, 448, Large spider web (stamped on window!), 552 wrought iron fence and 442, pumpkins. Please visit Magnolia-licious to see these images and email Diana if you don't see one. She'll help you out!

I am just crazy about the Martha Stewart punches with make the web border AND corner!
I used my beloved copics to color in the images.
Colors used are;
E000, E01, E93, E33, E55, E25, E47 (skin and browns)
Hair is Y21, E08 and E25
Yg01, YG13, Yg17 for the pumpkin leaves
Y18, YR16 abd YR18 for the pumpkins then a touch of E08
V0000, V04, V06 and V09 for her outfit.
When you're done hopping please consider joining in this challenge and posting to our blog! One person will win a gift Certificate to Diana's Magnolia-licious store! You have until August 31st to enter.
This was BEFORE I added the Reese's Pieces! I have NOT eaten them (YET!!)!

Thanks for taking a look at my projects for this blog hop and challenge!
(The inside of the card has a sentiment that says, "Witchie, witchie, screamie, screamie, Happy, Happy, Halloweenie!"
Love that!
have a BOO-tiful day!
Cheryl

Okay, things are being given away right and left on this blog hop so I will too!
I would like to send a mystery card (made by me) and a Magnolia stamp to one person who comments here by Monday morning, August 24!
( I really do love all of you who visit!)

Rich Razzleberry flowers and Tilda!

I've seen this Tilda posed in all sorts of ways and this one was my favorite. I wish I could remember who to credit! I'm completely in love with SU's Rich Razzleberry!! I chose it as my main color and used some of the Designer Series paper from SU as well.
There has been some discussion in our Magnolia-licious Yahoo group on the difficulty of matching copic purples! This one was tough as I don't (yet!) have the copic that is the color match for RR!
I used various shades from the Violet and Red Violet families and it's not great, but okay. I also matched with Pale Plum paper and another favorite for card bases, Kraft.

(I did clean up the blob of stickles by her head before it dried!) I frequently cut my Tildas out and mount them on dimensionals and that is what I've done here.

As best as I can remember here are the copics I used
Face, skin E000, E01 and E93
YG91, YG93, YG97
and V0000, RV93, V04, v06, V09 and a touch of R39

PLEASE return tomorrow as we are having a Tricks 'n Treats blog hop on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog.
We have some great projects to inspire you and PRIZES, too!
If you haven't yet joined our Yahoo group it's a great time to do so-Diana has hinted at something special in celebration of her upcoming birthday! The link is at her store,
Magnolia-licious!

Well, have a great day! I have some finishing up to do on tomorrow's project and then the photography!

Time to Hit the Books!

Well, it's nearly time to hit the books!

For this week, Judi asked us to do something connected to a school theme and I made these three bookmarks!
I wanted to showcase some of the animals from Judi's Aussie Animals set! They are really cute!
Of course, you recognize the Koala bear. In addition there are Kookaburra birds and a Sugar Glider!
There is also a Wallaby in the set.

I love leaves and branches, so I went into my stamp inventory and found three different images to work as my background.
My "background card stock is Celery from SU! It is framed in chocolate and the Ripe Avocado (PTI). Rectangles have been cut on my cuttlebug iwht the long nestability rectangle sets-the very first time I've used them!
It goes without saying that I colored the animals with my copic markers. Afterward, I added some sparkle or shine to each one-spica pen on the pine cones and needles and stickles on the balloon and flower centers. The large eyelets are from SU and I used ribbon and twine for my "tassels".
I love to give bookmarks because they are so useful and you can personalize the back so easily with the recipients initials or name!

I hope you'll travel to the Angel's Landing blog to get the connections for some great projects from the other designers!
We all hope we have "made the grade" with this assignment!

Thanks, once again, for taking the time to visit!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Embrace Life! Angel's landing winner!

Hi! Determined to post today I found this image I had colored some time ago (when I was rather new to copic markers!) and decided it should be on a card. I used a Perfect Plum base and the new Razzleberry Fizz, which I LOVE!
I kept it really simple, using a background stamp from All That Scraps and some Papertrey Moss ribbon, pearls and stickles. That's it!
I was also determined to get another room "spring" cleaned yesterday so that was my focus and I forgot (until last night) to choose my winner for the Angel's Landing Two free downloads!
Random.org chose the number 21 from my comments on the post and that is
Liz Williams! (I did not include Angel's Landing design team members in the comments)
Liz Williams said...
Love your card, but it can't hold a candle to the two live models in your fabulous pictures.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my card and on my "real life" kitties who are ONE year old today!
Today is organization day and now that I've posted I am off to get started on my embellishments! What a mess!
Hope you are well on your way to completing your goals for the day!
thank so much for visiting!

Time to water!

Hi! I made this card and used an image I had colored awhile ago when I made THIS CARD.
Sometimes I color several of an image at a time. Unfortunately, many times only one gets made into a card and the others just lay around. Don't know why I do that! Anyway, this is a better picture of the image because now I know how to edit to get some brightness into my photos :)
The copic marker colors that I used are listed in the previous post. Tilda with watering can is available at Magnolia-licious. I'm sure you can tell this is the same layout I used the other day in THIS POST -
a card which I am quite pleased with!
I just got the Sizzix die to cut the leaves from Stampin' Up! It is terrific because it is bigger than any of the leaf punches I have and for 5.00 I think it is a value! The flowers are a sort of yellow color and to add interest I sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.
Thanks for coming by to look!
Lots to do this week. On Wednesday I have a project (i.e. not a card!) for Angel's Landing and on Friday there is something big going on at Magnolia-licious Highlites! I'll try to post in between too!

Enjoy your evening!

Cheryl

Copic Creations Challenge-Pinks and Reds

Good morning and happy summer Saturday! It's going to be another hot one here in Western New York! Love it! (but, I can't BELIEVE that it's mid August already! How did that happen?) Our Copic Creations Challenge this time is to color pinks and/or reds and hearts. I used pinks, as I think you can tell! You have got to head right over to the blog to see the beautiful creations posted by our Design Team!
But wait, there's more!
Our sponsor is Susana's Custom Art and Card Design!
She has a fantastic store and she ships REALLY fast for those "gotta have it" artists!

She is donating a great prize, too! A collection of the 12 new colors of Copic Sketch Markers!! Wowzie! (I have them and really do use them a lot in blending to keep my highlighted areas.) I really recommend you play this challenge with us, they are worth $60.00!
This card is already in Susana's hands 'cuz today is her birthday!! Happy birthday, Susana!
I'll mention that my sister has taught me to make these crocheted flowers! I have not tried it with embroidery floss yet because the fibers separate so much. But I've made several with crochet thread and I love them! You really can whip one up in under 10 minutes! It takes me that long (or longer) to look through my flowers to choose one! LOL! If you want the directions, please leave a comment and I'll look them up on Nichole Heady's blog again and post it for you.
The copic colors I used are as follows:
R0000, R20, RV32, RV34, R37
E000, E01 and E93
E55, E57, E59
B41, B45, B37,
Y21, E55, E37
YG01, YG06, W00, W1
You can still enter to win TWO digital downloads (of your choice) from Angel's Landing! Please see this POST

Thanks for visiting! YOur comments mean so much to me!

Angel's Landing Blog hop-Cats and Kittens

Good morning and thanks for stopping by! If you came here first, you may want to start at the beginning, which is Judi's blog for Angel's Landing. She'll have the complete line up!
First a picture of our cats, still kittens really! Please meet Charlie (on the left) and Violet (on the right)! They will be one year old next week. Yep, they are brother and sister and love each other very much! They have never been apart! Pretty high on the "Cute" scale, huh?

And now for the new release from Angel's Landing: Cats and Kittens. There are different poses and sizes of these cuties and some great circular sentiments to go with them.
Have a lo0k:
Angels Landing
Edited to add this picture, which is better! (Ignore the one below, please!)
I attempted to color Judi's great images like our two babies. I used copic colors Y21, YR24 and Yr14 for Charlie. violet is W00, W1, W2, W3 and W7. cheeks and ears are E93. I didn't attempt to get the gold brown in Violet. I didn't want to ruin her!

Okay, it is a blog hop, so from here please visit Sweet Designs to see what Cheryl (great name!) has created for today. I happen to know she also used the Sketch challenge on SCS today! Way to go, Cheryl!

don't leave yet, there's a little more below-

Judi has given me permission to offer a prize of TWO free digital downloads of YOUR choice to a random winner right here on my blog!! Please leave a comment and I will choose a winner on Monday, August 17!

Yum!! Ice Cream!

Hi! I'm sorry to have been absent these last few days, you see my birthday hit on a weekend this year! That's a good thing! DH and I went away for a couple of days starting August 7, which is my birthday! We had a great time at Geneva-on-theLake (yep, that's the name of the town!), Ohio.

A quick story-We were in a winery in the middle of the afternoon on Friday. It was pretty empty with one other group having lunch at a table. We went to the bar to taste some of their wines. A couple comes in (on a whim they told us) and said it was the man's birthday! then the waitress took cake to the table of diners because it was that gentleman's birthday, too! Now, I realize people go out to celebrate their birthday, but what are the chances! The young man was BORN in 1975, the year I graduated highschool and the older man was born in 1934! It was great!s, two close ups! I don't know how to delete so it stays!
A shout out to my friend, Michelle (Milwaukee Mommy) who inspired today's card with this CARD!
The paper pack is by K& Company. The card base is Hunter Green from SU (I don't know WHEN I last used this color! The pink is Purely Pomegranate and the pink dp is the opposite side of the green floral one. The flowers behind Tilda came in my Summer Kit from Magnolia Sweden, but the large flower is one of FOUR in a set from Diana at Magnolia-licious.
They are #407 Jungle flowers.

Copics used are:
E000, E01 and E93
Y21, E54 and E37
B41 and B21
YG01 and YG25
RV91, R83, RV32 and RV34

Thanks for visiting! I'll be back tomorrow with a new release from Angel's Landing and it's a Blog Hop!
Have a great day!

Edwin appears in the August sketch!

This sketch was designed by Becca and I must just say, Becca you kicked my butt with this one!
I was working with Basic Grey paper on another project and was inspired by the little piece you see on the left. I wanted to use more of it, but I thought Edwin would get lost in the pattern!
So last night I colored Edwin to match the colors of the paper and the leaves to put behind him. Both images are part of the Animal/Pet collection which are in stock now for great prices at Magnolia-licious
if you want to go take a look! Join our Magnolia-licious yahoo group for further discounts!
I thought the second picture was a fun one! Look at the shadow of Edwin's lizard's tail! Yep, it's a sunny day!
I had the card put together so I made paper punch fake brads. I put Crystal Effects on them after they were glued onto the card.
This card is 5 1/2" square which brings up something I've been meaning to mention for awhile.
It can be difficult to fit our beloved Tildas and Edwins onto a nestability shape. I OFTEN to to my Petite ovals! I have the classic (straight edge) in the large and the small. There are several choices for ovals which are larger than the regular ovals! I also have the scalloped edge ones to go with the straight edge. Most of mine came from
7 Kids College Fund. Please see link to right and go to the Spellbinders section.
I hope you can see the sparkle on the lizard! My favorite Stardust stickles.

Here is my close up and I actually wrote the colors of markers down!
Here they are:
Hair Y21, E55, E25
Skin: E000, E93 and E01
Pants: E55, E57, E59
Lizard YG91, YG93, YG97 and YG0000
Leaves YG0000, YG91, YG93, YG97, YG99
Shoes YG91, YG95, YG97
Shirt: YR07, R17, Y38, YR07, R14, R24, R29, R59, YG25
(I just kept adding color until I got what I wanted!)
I've just gone to Random.org again because I did not hear from my Blog Candy winner and it's been days!
The WINNER now is number 63!! My winner is kat9 from Minnesota! She says she visits everyday! I hope so!
Kat please contact me at drowley01@earthlink.net so I can get your address!
(Did you know a set of those petite oval nestabilites is one of the prizes!)
Well, that's it for now! Have a wonderful day!
THANKS so much for visiting!

Angel's Landing Baby Book

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been absent a couple of days! Life got in the way of my stamping time!
Today's post is a photo album or mini scrapbook if I put more time into it!
I have these photo holders that I got from a friend a few years ago.
I make a "cover" to insert in the front and one for the back insert. The remaining photo inserts can hold at least 20 photos! Or a mini scrapbook page could be made to insert into each one after the photo is added.
Here I"ve made my cover with Toys on Wheels from Angel's Landing. I used Basic Grey Lemonade paper to guide my coloring with copic markers.
Here is a picture of what the photo album looks like with my 'cover' inserted. Even the bow fits nicely, and doesn't look too mushed.
I love these because they can be carried in a purse (by a new grandma, for example) and nothing gets yucky from being in her purse.
I made a couple for a for the friend that I was a secret Santa for last year. She has one for each of her daughters. She put pictures in the little albums that the girls would enjoy looking at. Don't kids love seeing pictures of themselves when they were even smaller!
Imagine them for pictures of faraway relatives that you want your children to remember! Perfect for little hands!

Well, thanks for visiting toda. I hope you've been inspired to create something!
For more inspiration, please check out today's other ideas from the Angel's Landing design team on the blog! I know they'll be great!
Have a great day! I'm off to breakfast with some friends from school!
Oh yes, Ihaven't heard frommy Blog Candy winner so you know what that means?! I'll be choosing again later today!
Please check back!
Cheryl
