FS121 Rox rocks!

Beth is honoring the Queen of the sketch on SCS, Rox, as featured stamper this week! I HAD to play!
This is a stamp by Whipper Snapper called Sophie! She is so darn cute! I bought the wood stamp at my LSS (Buffalo Stamps N Stuff) and tried to color her the way she is colored on the stamp itself. Then came the challenge of dp to use with Rox's great layout. I had this paper by Imaginisce on the couch by me and it seemed to be just fine. The rest was easy peasy!
I colored her with my copis, of course! I didn't write colors down for this one, but I used a technique on the "sidewalk" that we learned at our copic training with Marianne. I colored the area under her feet and wheels with gray and brown, then used the chisel end of my blender pen to pick up color. It has to be held in the area for a few seconds depending on the strength of your blender pen. Neato!
There is lots coming this week! Tomorrow I will have a card for a Challenge team that I am on now-no announcement yet! Wednesday will be the Angel's Landing Summer designers debut!
Friday is something special from Magnolia-licious! Who knows what else will be coming_I'm having a tough time keeping it all straight!
I'm so grateful to be on these teams.
So glad I got to play today on SCS!
Hope you're having a great Sunday!

A card and an Announcement!

Good morning! Back to work today! Of course I didn't finish the HUGE to do list that I had going, but that's the way it goes! When I colored the Tilda with watering can that I made into a card a couple of posts down, i also colored this one. Last night I got it made into a card for an upcoming birthday. The dp is Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday and Bo Bunny double dot. I'm sorry, I didn't write the copic colors down on this one.
This card is my favorite size, A2 or 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
Now for my ANNOUNCEMENT!
I've been included in Judi's design team for Angels Landing!
Judi has a wonderful line of digi stamps! Some cute animal images, flowers, and design elements! She also has a great blog! Yesterday she announce her summer design team.
Until I can get them linked on my sidebar, you can get to the links from her blog HERE!

Thanks so much for this opportunity, Judi! I'm looking forward to working with your designs!

Memorial Day 2009

I thought today was a good day to post the Edwin card that I finished. It's Memorial Day in the U.S. and we have so many Service men and women to thank for the sacrifices they made for our country. I colored Edwin with my copic markers and used Kraft, Night of Navy and Papertrey Poppy Red for the card. My dp is from Basic Grey-the Boxer Collection. It's beautifu Reds and Blues gave the perfect touch to the card. The cross piece reminds me of semifore flags I've seen used. This card is 4 1/2 x 5/12.
I have such a long learning curve! I have finally figured out a little bit about editing my photos so hopefully they will look somewhat better. There is so much to learn!

Here's the coloring close up and the colors are listed below! Thanks for coming by today.
God Bless America!

Markers used: B41, B21, B34, B36, Y21, E31, E33, E35, E37, R05, R35, R17, R46, R39

Diana's Journal

Good Saturday morning! I don't like to go without posting on a Saturday, but I'm itching to get outside! I made this journal for Diana Crick a short while back. Diana said she is going to keep her "to do" lists in it! I use a similar one to keep Stampin' friends addresses and birth dates . That being said, it doesn't always mean they get a card on time! LOL! If it looks familiar to you, THANK YOU! That means you are a regular visitor here! I made a similar journal for our WNY Springfest gathering as my gift exchange gift. Diana's is the taller thinner journal from Michael's and I added one of those great Sizzix daisies to hers.

I hope you like my brief post. I'll try to get a more patriotic card done later. Edwin with his oar is so anxious to be inked up and colored with America's beautiful colors!
God Bless America!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Tilda the Early Bird gardener!

Good Thursday morning! This card came about by happy circumstances! I had colored her face and hair awhile ago and set her aside. Inspiration can take time! I've been working with these Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers on some other cards and decided to put some of the scraps together for a card bg. Then I set that aside. The other night I wanted to color something and didn't they just fit together, so I went through my copics and did my best to match the paper colors. Now here she is! The ribbon and buttons are from Papertrey. The nestiblility ovals are from the petite collection so they are long and more narrow. I used my "airbrush" method of a juicy ink pad PTI aqua mist, in this case) and a 1 inch stencil brush. Tilda is cut out and raised on dimensionals. Stickles were added so this garden angel sparkles in the sun as she is working in her garden! I wish I was doing that today!
Here she is in her close up shot! Thanks so much for looking!
Copics used are as follows:
FAce R20, Eooo, Eo1
Hair and boots-sorry, I'm not sure.
Pants, Bg10 and Bg72
Can YG91, YG21, YG25, YG95, G99 (I had some trouble getting it to look the way I wanted!)
Pant cuffs YG21, Y06, touch of E13
Jacket YR68, R46, R17, R37, R39
Tilda with her watering can is available at Magnolia-licious right now!
I do appreciate that you visited today and thanks so much for the lovely comments on the Spring rain card!
Have a great day!

Singin' in the Rain!

Well, I'm singin' in the sun, BUT you DON'T want to hear me sing! I just got my Tilda with umbrella stamp and I love her!! She is so cute in her striped slicker and I couldn't wait to ink her up! I just finished this card and I'm so sorry my photos aren't very good. Still working on the light box because the cats destroyed the first one!
ETA:
This Tilda is available now at Magnolia-licious-#348 Tilda in spring Rain! Great price, too Link is on my sidebar! I colored Tilda with my copic markers. As soon as I saw her I knew I wanted to use shades of blue and green to color her clothing! I added Crystal Effects to her boots and white gel pen around the image. I also used a spica silver pen on the zipper. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket and is called Early Bird.
I will also say that I was somewhat concerned because I couldn't cut her out and keep the puddle and the raindrops which are perfectly drawn. Also, the angles on the image had me concerned about stamping her straight. Well, fear not! She stamped beautifully! I kept her leg straight and the angled boot balances the angle of the umbrella. Perfect! When stamped she has these neat edges at the top right and bottom left to work with. Excellent for a sentiment button or the ribbon and flower that I used. Hope this makes sense and isn't just weird ramblings!

Here she is close up!
And here are my colors:
Hair Y21, E08 and E37
Skin: E000, E01, R20
Blues BG10, Bg72 and Bg18
Greens TG21, YG91, YG17, YG95
others: YR31, E53 and Yo6
Thanks so much for coming back! I will try to make it a shorter time between posts!
Have a splendid day!

Birthday Bouquet!

Good morning to ya and happy midweek!! Thought I'd show you a card I made for our Western New York Spring Fest gathering. That smart Tracy had a birthday card contest with all cards being donated to her church's sunshine group! Now wasn't that smart! I happily participated!
The contest was won by the FABULOUSLY TALENTED Michele Ghent! Her card was spectacular and everyone loved it! It is the one I voted for! Anyway here is Tilda fromt he Butterfly collection with her basket of sparkly flowers to wish someone a Happy Birthday! Diana has MANY of these stamps available NOW and at the best prices! Please feel free to leave here and visit Magnolia-licious! I used Mellow Moss and Pretty in Pink with Basic Grey's Porcelain papers. I made one of my favorite new things-a stickpin for embellishment! This is a favorite layout of mine! You get to see lots of the dp but it accomodates a larger image too. I think this card was 5x5 inches square.
Here she is in her close up shot!

And the inside with this OLD, but well used sentiment and more Porcelain paper!
Thanks for visiting! My count is ever growing and so is my gratitude to those of you who visit and comment! THANK YOU!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

FS118 Hoppy birthday!

If you came to see yesterday's Tilda, please scroll down.

Hi everyone and welcome!
This card was made for the SCS Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast yesterday!
I used Anna Wight's wonderful Frog made by Whipper Snapper and colored it with my copics.
The dp is from Prima Marketing and is just full of bright colors. I love green and orange together! Reminds me of popsicles in the summertime!
Well, I know this is short (maybe that's a good thing!), but I'm already late for work!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!

Good afternoon! I thought I would get this finished and posted this morning, but you know how things can go! This Tilda is from the Chasing Butterflies collection and isn't she cute! I used the sketch challenge from SCS this week which worked nicely, I think. I just got the SU eyelet edge punch and love it! The dp is from Basic Grey's Wisteria collection and is even more beautiful IRL!

Here's the close up for you! She was stamped on white (Papertrey Ink's) with tuxedo black and then colored with copics. After that she was painstakingly cut out. It's impossible to cut out around all the roses so I did what I could then filled in color with a lavender grey marker. I glued her onto a piece of dp from my 6x6 pack. No dimensionals this time-the image was too fragile!
Mother's Day isn't too different from other days for me anymore. I miss my mom each and every day of every year since she passed on January 8, 2005. I love you, Mom.
My husband treats me special, though, even though I am mom to fur babies, currently, Charlie and Violet, our two cats.
I hope YOU'VE been treated special today by those who love you and whom you love!

Saturday!!

Hi!! So much to do, but I wanted to have a Saturday card for you! This is the card I sent to the 4 Magnolia-lcious members who were being rained on in April! My "rain" was a little late and I hope they forgive me!
My coloring was inspired by this fantastic cosmo Cricket paper. I love the lace and gray tones! The bg is another sheet from the same collection. It's Beau-ti-ful!
For just a pop of color I made her rose pink and added sparkle to it. The gray taffeta ribbon is from SU and the yellow cardstock that matched best was So Saffron and Sahara sand.
This is my first girl with "black" hair. I hope she doesn't look like an old lady instead!!
Off to get my Saturday work done so I can go to some greenhouses this afternoon!
Happy Birthday to my sister, Marilu!!
Hope you have a great day! Thanks for coming to my blog!!

Flower pot card

Hi everyone! A quick midweek post! I had to get into the Flower pot card craze! What a great surprise card! AND surprisingly easy! It's also versatile-any flowers will work!! I love daisies so that's what I started with. these are made with a Sizzix die (used in my Cuttlebug!). The die has three sizes. I used two each of the smaller two flowers. It's called Daisies 2. It's available at Sizzix and is also carried by SU! The center is a 1/2" punch from my My Mind's Eye paper (Grow). The "leaves" are punched with the SU five petal punch. I used Blush blossom, sponged to give it more color for the card and tag.

And here is the inside tag that pulls out. I just can't wait to do more of these!!
Here is the link for the SCS thread for TLC215. She gives a link to Stefanie's great directions!
Well, it's hump day and I'm off for work!
have a great day!

FS117 Bee Happy!

Hello there! It's another bright card today! I'm also trying out my new, homemade light "tent" which is a dressed up cardboard box. Now I think I need to work on brighter lighting. Another day! Here's Tilda with her pet bee from the Magnolia spring Kit, but also becoming available as part of the Spring butterfly collection.
I've colored Tilda with copics and used Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango (from SU!) with my Marrakech paper (Basic Grey). Behind Tilda, looking very much like a sun is a pinking circle spellbinder die cut. I don't know how much I'll use these, but with these warm yellow and oranges I thought it was perfect! I maust say to Lisa that I am liking PP and TT a little better!
My card is for the SCS challenge (FS117) today. the honored artist is Sparkle Smith! Congratulations to her! Great name, huh? I used some stickles for sparkle on Tilda's headband and on the bee's wings.
Tilda's hair is E13, 15, and 18.
Yellows and oranges are Y11, Y38, YR16, YR07, and YR18
Aquas and blues are Bg10, B41, Bg13, B24, B37 and B39
A while ago, I said I would look up Kittie's multiloop bow tutorial and the bow I tied today was a reminder to myself to do that.
Here is the link to Kittie's excellent videos on bows: http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/ribbon-tying-tutorials.html

Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments yesterday!! I treasure each one!
Stampin' hugs!

May sketch for Magnolia-licious!

Well, it is another beautiful spring day here in Western New York, made more beautiful by the fact that it's SATURDAY!! Sharon Caudle (Grandma's House of Cards) created the sketch for all to use in May. She is an excellent designer on the Magnolia-licious team! Thanks, Sharon!!
My card base is Kraft and is 5.5" square. I really prefer the traditional A2 size cards because I don't have to find a time to get to the Post Office to have it weighed! I can just pop them into the mail! I'm all about easy!! The Art Impressions dock (that I used here) is bigger than the Magnolia bridge deck so I made this bigger card in order to show off my Cosmo Cricket paper a bit! The card base is Kraft and I used Real red for my mat pieces. Tilda in her swimsuit is raised up on dimensionals. I stamped the dock and then masked it with sticky notes so that I could use my ink pads, grass stamps, stencil brush, cloud template and stencil brush for the background.
Tilda and her dock are colored with copic markers. I took several (well, a LOT!) pictures trying to get a good one. I hope you can see the detail!

I also do very simple insides. I just don't have the time to color another image for the inside. I love all the wonderful cards out there, I just don't have the time! this is about as fancy as I get.
I love my beach EK success punch!! I made more sky and clouds with ink pad and sponging. I don't like how it looks in the middle, but a sentiment will cover that! (I need one that says, "Just sittin' here thinking of you!") I mounted that on red and Kraft and then on more of the Summery Cosmo Cricket paper from the Snorkel Collection.
I realize that I, once again, grabbed a scrap paper and wrote down my copics only to misplace it. It will turn up and I'll post them in an edit.

Here's this little cutie in a close up! I tell you, I love these things! Mine came from Diana at Magnolia-licious. She has stock coming in all the time, great prices and special deals like free shipping and extra goodies.
Go to her site to check on joining our Magnolia-lcious yahoo group fro even more goodies!
Thanks for coming by today! I really appreciate it!!
Off to start some garden work before DH comes in and says, "Are you still on that computer?!"
ETA: The fabulous and friendly Claudia Rosa pointed out to me that this dock is from
Art Impressions. Thanks so much, Claudia!!
