"Re-covery" card

Hello!! I'm so happy to have new followers!  I don't want to disappoint any of you.  I've been struggling through the week with a rotten cold (are there any other kind?) and sleeping through most evenings after work so I can get through the next day!  I did get this card made, but not for me!  It's for a friend who had a knee replacement recently.

I used yellow and aqua blue which I think are such happy colors! Like sunshine and blue sky!  The card features elements from Papertrey Ink's On My Couch set and the Additions set.

But, I must fly and get ready for work! So glad it's Friday!! And it's payday, so I had to put in a preorder for some new CHA papers!! I love getting new things in the mail!

You still have a chance to get some new things for free by entering our contests at MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS!!  We have TWO contests going on!! One is Anything Goes and the other is a Sweet Crazy Love challenge!! Please check them out!!
AND, at I Brake for Challenges, you can also enter your project for out IBFCC17! It's anything with a fun or fancy fold!
AND, ONE MORE THING, next week, Wednesday starts a new month so there will be new inspiration from the Magnolia-licious team for our February challenge!  I plan to get some creating done this weekend as I start to feel better. I hope you have time for some too!!!
Have a great day!

WILD TILDA and a WINNER!!!

Good Saturday morning!! So happy to be home today!! I love work, but this was a week from which I needed a break!! AND I want to announce my blog candy winner, too!  Random.org generated comment number 49!!  That commenter is Rosalie, and it looks like I'm sending a package to this new follower in BRAZIL!! CONGRATULATIONS, ROSALIE!! Would you please email me at drowley@stny.rr.com with your address?
My card today features my first choice stamp from the Sweet Crazy Love collection when they arrived in Diana's amazing store, MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS!  I had to have it ASAP!! I'm sorry that it seems to be out of stock, but I've linked the mini! HERE! I wanted to color it for Valentine's Day so I went with C (cool grays) and RV markers.  I love, love the results!!  Then to find a sketch to use!! I used the elements of the currect SWEET SUNDAY SKETCH and the recently posted JUST MAGNOLIA challenge to use a window.  A Card was born!!
A close up of SWEET WILD TILDA!
And, another, so you can see the valentine tree!! It was created with another Magnolia-stamp! My dps are from MME Blush (6x6 pad) and from Lilybee design Head over Heels (6x6).
Thanks so much for visiting today!! I hope you find some inspiration when you do and that you will have some time to CREATE today!
Can't wait to hear from Rosalie!!  Think I'll have some breakfast and put the things together for her package!!

Winter Winds or....

Bearly Winter!  Hope you like my titles!  I am so challenged when I go to write them!!  We have only had winter weather since AFTER Christmas and I'm so over it already!! But, this card (and all winter cards) are fun to make!
Here's the scoop on why I made this card!

These Rick St. Dennis Exclusive stamps are now available in the I Brake For Stamps store!   Please go HERE to see the others! You'll want them all! You can use the code SAVE10CHERYL for 10% off!)
If you haven’t started the hop from the I Brake For Stamps blog, you’re going to want to do so. We are offering a $15 IBFS Gift Certificate to a random hopper. In order to qualify, you must leave a comment on each designer’s blog including the IBFS blog. Tell us which bear is your favorite AND anything else that might make our crafty hearts smile J
You’ll also have your chance at winning a bear of your choice when you participate in the current challenge over on the IBFS Challenge Blog.    Our current challenge is Fancy Fold cards. Please see the Challenge Blog for all of the details.
Now to a bit about my card, in case you're interested.  I used a Pink Pirouette card base, then a layer of navy.  The frame layer is PTI's card stock with a glimmer to it.  The bear is stamped on xpress it blending card and colored with copics. YOu're not surprised at that, are you?
I used pool party and baja breeze with a stencil brush to give the snow and sky color around my bear. Bordering blue and an old SU snowflake stamp is how I did the sparkly snowflakes around him.
My bear is colored in E42, E33, 35 and then some darker E ( I don't remember!)
The pinks are once again R81, 83 and 85. The blues are B23,45,26 and 37.
The swirl die is from Cheery Lynn designs (fanciful flourish).  I cut the leaves off and placed punched snowflakes on top and around the.  It's the swirls that remind me of the winter winds!  I didn't add stickles to the snowflakes (are you shocked?) because they are also punched from shimmer paper.  I thought the pink gems were a nice touch to the centers!  The frame is raised on dimensionals, as you can probably see.
I'm going to also enter this is the Pretty Palette color challenge for the week-Navy, pink and white!  They are so great together!!
Thanks for coming by my cottage!  If you'd like the chance to win some 'blog candy' you can check out (and leave a comment) on the post I made on Monday, Jan 16 below.  Picking a winner on Saturday morning!
And , please leave a comment here for a chance to win from I Brake for Stamps!
Now, please continue hopping to see what else has been created with these exclusive Rick St. Dennis winter bears!!  Head over to wonderful Chrissy's Blog  and see her beautiful work of heart!
Have a fun Friday and great weekend, but remember I'll be back tomorrow!

Is it spring yet?

Hi friends and stampers!!  I have a card with a whole different look today (but still with pink!)!!  I made this criss cross pocket card in spring colors for the new I Brake for Challenges challenge!! Starting today you have two weeks to enter your FUN OR FANCY FOLD CARD for a chance to win a prize!!  Details are here on the I Brake for Challenges blog.
I've used TULIP from I brake for stamps on the card insert.  It comes in deeply etched red rubbah for 3.25!!  I  used copics to color these images.  I didn't keep colors, but I know the pink is R81, 83 and 85 for what that's worth.  they are my favorite pinks to work with.  They blend with almost no effort at all!

And, if you're here for the MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS DT BLOG HOP, WELCOME, and you're in the right place if you've come from the lovely and talented, Sharon Caudle's Blog!  I've made a couple of things with the wonderful, Sweet Crazy Love collection!  You can see them HERE at Magnolia-licious!  I hope when you finish the hop you will go over for a peek at the BEST store for Magnolia stamps!! Great customer service and a frequent buyer program!  And for the low down on prizes for joining in our little contest please check out the MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS HIGHLITES BLOG POST!
Well, here's my card, using the Mini of #255 Rose Scent Tilda. She's colored with copics and layered on some retired SU valentine paper, so it's pink, pink, pink!!
And, here is my coordinating box that holds a gift card and some CANDY!! Perfect for a little giftie!! On the box I used full sized Tilda with Cozy Heart (#236). I used the Martha Stewart Snowflake chain on both pieces so they would coordinate. The whole chain is covered with Star Dust Stickles for sparkle, and lots of it!  Hope you can see the rest of the sparkle too!
The inside of the box.  I probably should have done more decoration in here!

Another of the same pic, by mistake!! Oops!
And, an angled look so you can see the dimension.
I used kraft (my fav) for the box and card base. copics used are as follows:
E000, E11, R30 face and skin
RV04, RV17 and RV19 for the deep pink.
Rv10 for the light pink
Browns Or Es are what I lost track of. Really sorry!
Well, that's it for the Sweet Crazy Love projects of mine, so you are now off to see Suzanne Dean's  perfectly wonderful creation!!
BLOG CANDY-
I have some extra goodies around, including some stamps from Diana's wonderful store!! I think I'll have a giveaway. If you would like to become a follower, I would love that!!

It's a CuPIG!!

Hello, friends! Just the name of this image cracks me up!! AND, it's so cute too!! Perfect for valentines, IMHO!  It's from All that Scraps and you can find it HERE  in digital and in rubber!
.

I colored him in copics-R81, 83 and 85.  I love how these reds blend.  then I used some of the peachy Es for his snout and hoofs.  That's BG10 and d11 on his wings and arrow.  I used a Martha Stewart scroll heart punch and Purely Pomegranate top frame my image.  My card base is, (what else?) Kraft!  the dp is retired SU.
Thanks so much for taking a look at today's card!  The only other thing I have to say is, "Come on, weekend!!"
Have a great day!!

Snowflakes and Lace

Hello!  here is sweet Tilda (mini form) dressed for Valentine's Day in her pink hat and coat.  This card front is going to CHA in a couple of weeks to be in the Magnolia-licious booth! Wish I could go attached to a card!!

Tilda is stamped on xpress it blending card and colored with copics. The pinks are again RV10, RV04, RV17 AND RV19. I am in love with these colors!  I used Hawaiin Shores card stock from PTI with SUs Purely Pomegranate.  I stamped my impression obsession gingham plaid tone on tone for two of the layers.  The floral layer is dp from Lilybee designs.
The cream die cut is one of Marianne Ds.  There are stickles on Tilda as well as the snowflake chain punched with a MS punch.
As always, thanks for looking!  I appreciate the time you took to come by and see my little creation!
Have a great day!  Hugs, Cheryl

FUN WINTER CARD!

Hello!! I have a card I made for Diana to take to CHA in January!  It is so fun to work with non Christmas colors for a bit!! Here, I've used some favorites-fuchsia pink, turquoise and chocolate brown!  Yummy!
I made the style of card i think is called a tent card.  It's a base (expresso) that is 4.25x 4.25.  I stamped #3096 MINI TILDA WITH SNOW HEART (Diana has a deal on sets of two AND new ones are coming this week!!)  on xpress it blending card and colored with my copics.  Then I cut the frame shape (spellbinders label) from PTIs Hawaiin shores.  While in the dies I attempted to stamp my gingham plaid onto it.  It doesn't show well and next time I will use a darker ink.
The frame part is mounted on SU dimensional pieces and stickles are added wherever possible!  The lacy dp is from a 6 x6 Lilybee pad called Head over Heels.  Lovely papers!
When I was shopping with Lisa on Friday I bought this MS punch around the page set. I punched my border from white and then used the tiny punch snowflakes around my frame.  They have stickles on them too!  My pink paper is Purely Pomegranate (what else :)
And, finally here is the inside with a snowflake border punch I got last year.  It's covered with stickles too!  (And I stamped the plaid in a better color for my card stock!)
Remember you have the rest of January to participate in our Magnolia-licious challenge!! It's ANYTHING GOES with the option of lace (of any kind!).
Thanks for visiting today!  It's off to work for me again, but with some snowy weather we can always hope for a snow day!
Hugs, cheryl

New year, new month, NEW CHALLENGE!!

Hi de ho, neighbors!! (Yes, too much Home Improvement on TVLand!)!  It's a new month, a new year, and a NEW CHALLENGE over at MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS HIGHLITES!  It was my turn to pose the challenge, so I went with my favorite, which is ANYTHING GOES!  You can also add the option of lace!  I added a lacy doily to my card!

I had this card every which way, but right!! I colored the image and tried it on brown, with dp, on a 5.5x5.5 card  base.  Nothing was right!  I finally kept it simple (my usual style!) and just mounted the white panel on a Purely Pomegranate base. It's all about the main image, which is cute, cute, cute!!
It's #3053 TILDA WITH PEONY TAILS!  No kidding, that's the title from Sweden-I don't know if it's a take on Pony tails, or what!  Anyway, of course, mine came from the best store for Magnolias!- MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS owned and run by Diana Crick (and family!)
Here she is in close up!  I love the huge peony she is holding!!  I colored it in RV04, RV17 and RV19 with some RV!) for color blending.  Tilda's hair and boots are E34, E55 and E47.  Her dress is RV10 and R81 and 83.  The greens are YG23, and 25 then some YG95.
I used one of the many glittery snowflakes that I bought in the ornament section of Walmart this year, (held on perfectly with wonderful SCOR-TAPE!) so I hope you can see some of the sparkle in my photos. The ribbon is from PTI as is the white 'grid' behind her.  I've seen so much white on white this year that it was a goal of mine to try it!
Thanks for coming and PLEASE join in on our ANYTHING GOES challenge!  You have all month!
And, once again, wishes for a year full of health, happiness and all good things!
Cheryl
