Girly, you rock!

Hey, friends! Welcome to the Monthly Magnolia-licious Blog Hop! So glad you've come! I'm the start of the hop so let's get going! Our queen, Diana, asked us to use this Right Through My Heart stamp for our project! She is currently 30% of in the store! Of course she can be used for Valentine's Day, but I decided to use her as a "You go, girl" /"Power of women" type of card. Please keep reading for prize details near the end of the post. My eggplant card base is 5.5" square. Everything else was driven by the DCWV paper "Once upon a Time" I love the sparkle and the greens and purples in it! I had other patterns to use, but I just didn't want to cover this one up! Because of that, the rest of my card is pretty simple! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I used more Eggplant and Hunter green swirls.
If you make a card with this image and send it to Diana at magnolia.us@shaw.ca you will have the chance for one of TWO randomly chosen prize winners (prize is a stamp!) OR you can win a special secret prize that Diana hasn't disclosed to any of us! It's sure to be GOOD! Details are on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog.
Now you can head on over to Angie's Blog to see what she has cleverly created with this image!

If you're still reading I expect your hoping for colors and here they are1
skin E000, E11 and R20
hair Y21, E97, E25, E33 and E29 (same for sandals except for Y21)
Quiver YG93 and YG97
Her dress BV31, BV13 and V17
around image W00 and W2
Thanks SO MUCH for coming by today! I hope you have the chance to hop around!

Amazing Acetate blog Hop!

Good morning! Welcome to the Magnolia-licious Design Team Project of the Month Blog Hop! I don't remember whose idea it was to use acetate in our card/project but it was a GREAT idea! Maybe it was Becca's idea, cuz that's where we started the hop-at Amazing Paper Grace. If you then came from our GDT member, Angie you are right on track! I was trying to take daylight photos and keep the real shades of color so I'll apologize right now for the poor photos! This Tilda with Bike is on reorder
at the store. As Diana mentioned she is one of the smaller ones from last year. Her head could almost be covered by a quarter. For me this means she fits well on a standare A2 sizd card!

I love, love, love how an acetate card looks so that's what I started with! It was so fun I decided to make a box to go with it and use an acetate window!
I used new Bo Bunny sparkly paper with SUs orchid opulance. It's not my favorite color but is the perfect match for Bo Bunny's Jazmyne paper! The box is from Lauren Meder's new store My Time Made Easy and is called Shutterfly. I cut the flowers from my Bo Bunny dp.

I'll be honest, I had started this Tilda a while back and had her hair and skin colored already! I decided to stamp another and paper piece her apron with Papertrey Ink's Easter paper. I used Y21 and YR24 for the flowers and basket and V0000, Voo, V01, V09 and V15 for the purples. The bike tires are Cool Greys and I'm not sure about the greens.

small distorted photo!

Please visit the Copic Creations Challenge Blog for our first anniversary post and challenge with a HUGE prize that is actually MANY prizes!
My post and giveaway for that challenge will be TOMORROW!
But, before you do please finish our wonderful Magnolia-licious hop by traveling first to another GDT member, Stampin Mindy
Leave me a comment today and I'll choose a winner at the end of the week and get a prize out to you! I'll be giving away a card (made by me :) and a Magnolia stamp!
So much going on this week! Hope you have a terrific day!

Magnolia-licious March Sketch!!

Jacque gave us a great sketch to work with for the March challenge! It is so great that I was inspired to make a box too! I have more pictures so I'll try to keep the chat to a minimum! This is Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling Collection (and the Winter kit). If you are interested please let Diana know. She'll give you info on when she will have more in the store. Please head to the Challenge blog to see the sketch and the other Design Team member's gorgeous creations.

My box is from Papertrey Ink template called Do Me A Favor. The sides open wide so it would hold quite a bit. I've forgotten to mention that I printed a lot of boxes because a few weeks ago I bought a new printer and I am seriously IN LOVE with it! It's a Canon with a Rear tray so it prints all these templates I've bought. I'm soooooo happy! This is one I had printed (in soft sky) and it seemed the perfect time to put it together!

I used Y21, E08 and E25 on her hair. Her shoes are E33 and E99. Her dress is BG10 and BG72 and the green is YG01 and YG25. Her skin is the usual E000, E01 and R20.

Love this little gal, so here's a close up!
And then a pic of the front of our house! Our "olow guy" had to pile the snow on Sunday so there is room WHEN (not IF!) we get more! Funny how you can hardly see the front door!
(I had two pics, but one disappeared on upload!

A Magnolia-licious Challenge for September!

Hi! There was no time (and no card!!) to post yesterday, but I DO have my September project ready for today! Yeah!!
Queen Diana challenged us to make this really cool file folder project! I won't go into too much detail because I am sure you have seen the wonderful projects already made by our DT! If not, here is the link to the challenge blog:
And here is the link to the DIRECTIONS
for making it! You will want to try it because you can win $25.00 from Diana's store!!
Speaking of her store the Tilda I used is Stylish Tilda. She is an "older" Tilda now, but I just love her. She does have wings, but I cut them off for this project. I don't see her in Diana's store just now but when I looked I saw about 30 others that would work perfectly! Wouldn't sunflower Tilda have been great?! Hmmmm....
STORY
Diana was once told (by the people in Sweden) that ALL the Tildas are angels, but sometimes you cannot see their wings! AND, they added, the reason there is no mouth is because angels speak with their hearts! Can I hear an AWWWWwwww!
I have never been bothered by them only having eyes for their features. Have you?

My paper is Bloom from My Mind's Eye. I had mine made and ripped it apart after going to a stationary store and buying cream colored envelopes. It just looks better to me! The brown closure looked too plain when I was finished so I stamped it in vintage cream ink with a stamp from SUs Carte Postale! Aren't we forever changing (and improving) our projects!
Okay, lots to do today! I hope to get a post ready for tomorrow and it is another beautiful day for cleaning and sorting! Wishing YOU a productive day and I thank you again for visiting me here.

Halloween Blog Hop!!

Welcome!
This is the day we are having our Halloween Blog Hop for Magnolia-licious! This assignment was perfect for me! Is there anything better than fall colors like orange, black, purple, and yellow! I love them all! And the supplies, oh my! I have paper galore in beautiful patterns and punches and, of course, Magnolia stamps! AND, yes, Suzanne, those ARE Reese's Pieces inside! They are my favorite too and I have no idea how I'm going to keep from eating the rest of the bag!

Now, if you want more details, please go to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. You can keep reading here if you like, because I am the start of the blog hop. Next you will visit the talented Becca Feeken so she can show you what she's been up to (besides those fabulous Christmas ornaments she's been making!)!

We were to use the Halloween theme to make a treat box from a tutorial on the Scor-Pal site.
The tutorial I chose is by Lauren Meader (the great one!) and is called the Make a Wish Window box.
Did you know there are MANY free patterns on the Scor-Pal site? Just go to projects and you will see all the categories. There are about 10 patterns, instructions for each category!

I made my treat box first following Lauren's terrific directions. The box is held together with the fabulous Scor-Tape available at the Scor-Pal website. The spider on the top flap is part of the My Mind's Eye paper called Fright Night. The box itself is made from paper by Creative Imaginations called melange. The card has double dotted paper by Bo Bunny and the damask paper is from Graphic 45, the Communique Collection, Pen in Hand. The neat web netting came from my LSS last year.

The stamps used are as follows: 292, Tilda with spider web, 448, Large spider web (stamped on window!), 552 wrought iron fence and 442, pumpkins. Please visit Magnolia-licious to see these images and email Diana if you don't see one. She'll help you out!

I am just crazy about the Martha Stewart punches with make the web border AND corner!
I used my beloved copics to color in the images.
Colors used are;
E000, E01, E93, E33, E55, E25, E47 (skin and browns)
Hair is Y21, E08 and E25
Yg01, YG13, Yg17 for the pumpkin leaves
Y18, YR16 abd YR18 for the pumpkins then a touch of E08
V0000, V04, V06 and V09 for her outfit.
When you're done hopping please consider joining in this challenge and posting to our blog! One person will win a gift Certificate to Diana's Magnolia-licious store! You have until August 31st to enter.
This was BEFORE I added the Reese's Pieces! I have NOT eaten them (YET!!)!

Thanks for taking a look at my projects for this blog hop and challenge!
(The inside of the card has a sentiment that says, "Witchie, witchie, screamie, screamie, Happy, Happy, Halloweenie!"
Love that!
have a BOO-tiful day!
Cheryl

Okay, things are being given away right and left on this blog hop so I will too!
I would like to send a mystery card (made by me) and a Magnolia stamp to one person who comments here by Monday morning, August 24!
( I really do love all of you who visit!)

Edwin appears in the August sketch!

This sketch was designed by Becca and I must just say, Becca you kicked my butt with this one!
I was working with Basic Grey paper on another project and was inspired by the little piece you see on the left. I wanted to use more of it, but I thought Edwin would get lost in the pattern!
So last night I colored Edwin to match the colors of the paper and the leaves to put behind him. Both images are part of the Animal/Pet collection which are in stock now for great prices at Magnolia-licious
if you want to go take a look! Join our Magnolia-licious yahoo group for further discounts!
I thought the second picture was a fun one! Look at the shadow of Edwin's lizard's tail! Yep, it's a sunny day!
I had the card put together so I made paper punch fake brads. I put Crystal Effects on them after they were glued onto the card.
This card is 5 1/2" square which brings up something I've been meaning to mention for awhile.
It can be difficult to fit our beloved Tildas and Edwins onto a nestability shape. I OFTEN to to my Petite ovals! I have the classic (straight edge) in the large and the small. There are several choices for ovals which are larger than the regular ovals! I also have the scalloped edge ones to go with the straight edge. Most of mine came from
7 Kids College Fund. Please see link to right and go to the Spellbinders section.
I hope you can see the sparkle on the lizard! My favorite Stardust stickles.

Here is my close up and I actually wrote the colors of markers down!
Here they are:
Hair Y21, E55, E25
Skin: E000, E93 and E01
Pants: E55, E57, E59
Lizard YG91, YG93, YG97 and YG0000
Leaves YG0000, YG91, YG93, YG97, YG99
Shoes YG91, YG95, YG97
Shirt: YR07, R17, Y38, YR07, R14, R24, R29, R59, YG25
(I just kept adding color until I got what I wanted!)
I've just gone to Random.org again because I did not hear from my Blog Candy winner and it's been days!
The WINNER now is number 63!! My winner is kat9 from Minnesota! She says she visits everyday! I hope so!
Kat please contact me at drowley01@earthlink.net so I can get your address!
(Did you know a set of those petite oval nestabilites is one of the prizes!)
Well, that's it for now! Have a wonderful day!
THANKS so much for visiting!

Okay, now for my Giveaway for my Loyal, terrific, talented Blog Readers:

Here it is, or at least most of it.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Not our weather, but Jacque's sketch! Thanks, Jacque it is terrific and fun to work with! This is the Magnolia-licious sketch for July. I couldn't seem to get the sketch transferred here, but I hope you'll check it out on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog with the other designers creations!
I had to work the sketch a little bit to fit the large Magnolia row boat! And I used one instead of three embellishments in the upper right. My stamps are all from Diana at Magnolia-licious! She has great prices and special sales and surprises in your package if you belong to our Magnolia-lcious Yahoo group. The link to join is on the store site. Please use her search box to find stamps and if you have any trouble email her (or me!) and we'll help. Besides the rowboat, the sun, sentiment and, of course, the Tilda are from Diana's store.

I have written the colors down for this one and will give them below.
If you own some copics there is help out there for colors to put together. I've printed out Nicole Heady's color matches for her colors (she has them in a great format-doesn't she think of everything!?). BUT, I have not used any of her paper colors for this card. In other words, her copic matches are just great to use to match SU (or any other) colors! Thanks, Nicole!
Here's a link to what I'm talking about:
Papertrey Copic color matches. See the blue rectangle? click on that to get her chart ready for printing!
Anyway, here are the colors I used
skin E000, E01 and E93
BG10, BG11, BG18
RV10, RV04, RV17, RV19,
Y35, Y38, YR16
E55, E57 E59
W1, and W3
See what I mean? I used her colors as a starting point and changed where I needed.
My dp is Basic Grey, Lime Rickey (specifically-Shirley Temple) and my beloved Bo Bunny double dots with SU Pumpkin and Pomegranate and Black. My images are stamped on Papertrey white select. My sentiment is brushed with my 1" stencil brush in pumpkin and pomegranate.
Well, this may not be a patriotic colored card, but I am one grateful American today! God Bless America! Happy 4th of July to us all!
Have a great day!

May sketch for Magnolia-licious!

Well, it is another beautiful spring day here in Western New York, made more beautiful by the fact that it's SATURDAY!! Sharon Caudle (Grandma's House of Cards) created the sketch for all to use in May. She is an excellent designer on the Magnolia-licious team! Thanks, Sharon!!
My card base is Kraft and is 5.5" square. I really prefer the traditional A2 size cards because I don't have to find a time to get to the Post Office to have it weighed! I can just pop them into the mail! I'm all about easy!! The Art Impressions dock (that I used here) is bigger than the Magnolia bridge deck so I made this bigger card in order to show off my Cosmo Cricket paper a bit! The card base is Kraft and I used Real red for my mat pieces. Tilda in her swimsuit is raised up on dimensionals. I stamped the dock and then masked it with sticky notes so that I could use my ink pads, grass stamps, stencil brush, cloud template and stencil brush for the background.
Tilda and her dock are colored with copic markers. I took several (well, a LOT!) pictures trying to get a good one. I hope you can see the detail!

I also do very simple insides. I just don't have the time to color another image for the inside. I love all the wonderful cards out there, I just don't have the time! this is about as fancy as I get.
I love my beach EK success punch!! I made more sky and clouds with ink pad and sponging. I don't like how it looks in the middle, but a sentiment will cover that! (I need one that says, "Just sittin' here thinking of you!") I mounted that on red and Kraft and then on more of the Summery Cosmo Cricket paper from the Snorkel Collection.
I realize that I, once again, grabbed a scrap paper and wrote down my copics only to misplace it. It will turn up and I'll post them in an edit.

Here's this little cutie in a close up! I tell you, I love these things! Mine came from Diana at Magnolia-licious. She has stock coming in all the time, great prices and special deals like free shipping and extra goodies.
Go to her site to check on joining our Magnolia-lcious yahoo group fro even more goodies!
Thanks for coming by today! I really appreciate it!!
Off to start some garden work before DH comes in and says, "Are you still on that computer?!"
ETA: The fabulous and friendly Claudia Rosa pointed out to me that this dock is from
Art Impressions. Thanks so much, Claudia!!

April Sketch for Magnolia-licious!

Here's my card for Diana's April sketch challenge over at the Magnolia-licious store. You can also see the creations of the rest of the design team. Suzanne and I happened to choose the same image! She created the sketch herself and it was so fun to work with! The stamps are from Diana's Magnolia store, Old Bench and Is this your Egg? I used two old SU stamps as well, the chicken wire and the sentiment. My card base is Kraft and I used PTI's Poppy red for mounting. the dp is from Graphic 45. I used both sides of one paper from the Playtimes past collection. the paper is called Hopscotch. My card is 5"x 5". I sponged like crazy with Vintage Photo distress ink. Edwin is colored with copic markers. (Did you see my new Designer logo on the sidebar? Yeah!)
I made the chicken scratches around the paper edges with my small black pen.
Here's Diana's sketch.

I don't fuss a lot with the insides of my cards, I just don't have the time! I usually try to do something to add a little interest, though. Here I used more of the papers from the front and the chicken footprints from the old SU set, Best of Cluck. I continued the prints on the top half of the inside of the card. I think I will also add my "chicken scratching" around the nestability frame before sending this.

Here are my markers. My husband and I bought the Ciao sets before the sketch became so popular (they were cheaper, and I wanted A LOT of markers!) so of course the color is not on the cap :(
Below is a list of the Ciaos I used.
E25, E31, E33, E35, E000. E01, E47, E51, E08, R20, Y21, Y17, R17, R46, B12, B24, B97
I really like how this card came out and hope you've enjoyed your visit.
Thank you so much for "Chicken in" here today!

Button, button, who's got the...

Sketch! It's Suzanne! Suzanne Dean created this sketch for Magnolia-licious and we all hope you'll play too! My card uses Tilda with Patches. She is adaptable to any colors! I must admit that I was also inspired by Claudia (Pretty Pressings) She used this image last week and by coloring the main part of her bib overalls in tans the image is not overwhelmed with any one of the dp colors. Thanks to my friend, Claudia! the sp is from SUs Washington Apple collection! Love it and it's the first time I've used it. I used some of my seldom used button brads and though I'm not crazy about the bow I love this ribbon. It's a perfect match for Bashful Blue.

Here is Suzannes's wonderful sketch. You can go to Magnolia-licious for Tilda stamps or to get the email address to send your sketch card to Diana. She'll take care of posting it on the website.
Here's my close up. No shimmer or sparkle, but maybe I should add some?
Copic colors used are:
B91,B23, B95, YR16, E08, R29, R37, R59, E31, E33, E35, Y21, E00, E02 and R20.
Thanks for coming by my blog! I do appreciate it!

Tilda dreams of Spring!

Good morning! Here's Tilda dreaming of spring! In Western New York we are doing the same! We've had some nice temperatures (around 50) the last couple of days, but today is different! Winds up to 60 miles per hour and rain changing to snow, temperatures dropping about 30 degrees! Well, the next best thing to spring is NEW spring papers! These are from My Mind's Eye's new collection, Grow! They just arrived at my door on Tuesday and I got to use three of them on Rox's sketch this week! The aqua and oranges are wonderful!
I got the card together and didn't know what to do for embellishments (after all, it is 5:00 am here!). I just placed the PTI ribbon on quickly. I may move it and add a sentiment in the big area, but I think it looks okay and I wanted to get a post done mid week for those who come by daily (and see nothing new!).
I used the usual copic markers for hair and skin.
I used BG10 and BG 72 for the wings and tights.
My yellows/ oranges are Y15, Y38 and YR16.

Thanks for visiting Cottage Creations! Gotta get ready for school, no delay for us today, I guess!

February sketch?

Hi girls! Well, this card was intended for the Magnolia-licious sketch challenge, but I goofed up! Let's just say I used a little "Creative License", okay? I LOVE this new Basic Grey paper, Porcelain. I just got the 6x6 pad and I think I was focused on not covering up too much of the wonderful zigzag pattern. Of course, you can see that's where I got my colors for Tilda from. I almost always cut Tilda out and mount her on a background paper so this was a challenge! I couldn't mess up and color outside the lines too much! The edges of this panel are sponged with some SU Blush and Banana and then doodles with a black marker. The punch on the lace edge is an old Fiskars design. I don't use it much because it sticks except on the thinnest of papers. I think they have improved punches so much!

I realize my buttons don't quite match (No, it's not the photo!)! Everything else I had was too matchy, matchy so it didn't stand out. So I went with these peachy buttons from MME.
Copics I used are as follows:
Skin E00, E02 and R20
Greens: YG91, YG93, and YG95
Corals: R11, E93, and RV42
Yellows: YR31 and Y21
Thanks for coming by today! I truly appreciate it!

January sketch for Magnolia-licious For You!

Good morning and Happy 2009! As for me, I hope it is better than 2008. Our family went through some losses last year with lots of sadness. But we're doing better. It gets easier to remember the good things about our loved ones.

Things began to look up when Diana Crick asked me to be on her design team in October 2008 for the Magnolia stamps she was going to start selling in her store. Now here I am with my "entry" for the second sketch challenge! This one was created by the wonderfully talented Suzy Haglighi.

My card is 5x5 inches square. The card base is Kraft. I used dp by Prima Marketing called the Aurora Collection. It was a papercraft kit and had the wonderful die cut tag in green that is behind Tilda. There is a circle element to it. Can you see it behind her? Circles were cut using my cuttlebug and nestabilities. All edges were sponged with Distress ink in Vintage Photo to cover the white edges and give the pieces some depth ( I really hate those white edges!). The flowers are from Prima (dirtied up with more brown ink) and I have several sizes of white pearls so I added those. The Tilda image is "Tilda in her Christmas socks" and she is colored with copic markers. I used E00, E02 for her skin and R20 for her cheeks. Her dress is my favorite blue, BG10 (a perfect match for SUs Soft sky) and is then darkened with a little BG72 and just touches of BG09. Her hair is E31 and E35.

Please won't you consider playing along with our sketch. Just go to Magnolia-licious and e-mail Diana a photo of your card. She'll take care of the rest. While you're there check out her Perpetual Sale items. There are some good deals.
You can also check out the blogs of my design mates Claudia
Suzanne and, of course, Suzy.
Thanks for coming by my blog on this first day of the new year! Wishing you only good things!
Cheryl
