Celebrate!

Hello fellow stampers! Mo (of Mo's Digital Pencil) had a birthday just over a week ago and she drew this image to celebrate her day! Neat, huh? Her birthday and WE got the present! The image is called Bella Carrying the Cake and is available in digital format at the store HERE. I decided it would be fun to use less traditional colors and was inspired by my Max and Whiskers 6X6 inch pad.

Thanks for coming by to look today! I'm anxious to get outside because it is another beautiful day! Sunny and mid 70's! Perfect!
Before you go, you have until tomorrow (Sunday, Aug. 1) at 9:00 AM EST to comment on my MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS POST for Blog Candy from me!

Let's go Camping!

Hi everyone! Thanks for coming by today! I'm so happy to be designing now for I Brake for Stamps! They have over 3,000 images and great prices! I was like a kid in a candy store!
Della (the kind and generous owner) said that the Humorous Seniors line is very popular. I can see why! I started with the The Great Outdoors (I'll tell you why below~ keep reading, please!) The difficult part was trying not to cover up this perfectly matched paper from Imaginisce. Can you see the campers? The dog cracks me up!
Here's my brief story. My parents raised six children. We all get along well, which, I think, is not all that common. There were no fights over "things" or money when we lost our parents. But, we all have our own lives and my biggest fear was that we wouldn't all get together now that there was no "homestead". Sooo, when some of us were together for a family birthday we devised a camping plan! I carried through and found a central family camping resort and put down the deposit. So we are all going camping for a weekend in the fall! I think there will be 16 of us in two lodges! There are still four little children (fun!). Our 'in between' children are in their 20s so some of them can't make it. I'm really excited! I'm going to use these stamps in a family letter to let everyone in on all the details.
I think it would be a great retirement card as well.
I used BG000, BG10, BG72, R05, R08, R14 ,R17, YG91, YG93, YG95 and E33, E35 and E29
Now, Della like to share the love, so if you order from I Brake for Stamps you can use the code
SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% of your order!
Okay, one more thing, don't forget you can win blog candy if you comment on Monday's post by Sunday, Aug 1.
Thanks for coming by! Look for more soon from I Brake for Stamps!
Have a terrific Thursday!

Summer flowers!

Hello friends! There is so much going on this summer, but I thought I would show you a card I made this week for a friend's wedding anniversary-I sent it almost 2 weeks late! Yikes!! I CASEd a card that Nicole Heady (Papertrey Ink) made when this set (Springtime Doodles) was released. Actually I only changed the colors and sentiment. What can I say? Her work is an inspiration!
It's really fun to make acetate cards now and then. If you haven't tried it give it a go sometime! They are a real WOW when finished!
Here is a picture of MOST of the blog candy I'm offering for the 200,000 (and counting!) visits to my blog. I have one stamp to add and, of course, the card! If you win and have any of these stamps we can discuss switching them for others. No problem!
Feel free to leave a comment on this post, but I will draw the winner from MONDAY's POST' COMMENTS (click to go to post) .
You have until Sunday morning (Aug 1 to leave a comment). I'll draw later that day. Then just check back to see if you've won.
Tomorrow I will have my FIRST card from a new company that I'm making cards for. I hope you will visit and see who it is! I'm so honored to create for this company!

By the Sea Blog Hop!

Hello and good morning to everyone! I am so pleased to be at the start of this fun, fun summer blog hop! I am soooo excited and hope you are too! You may have seen the word out there that our theme is Anything Nautical. Now there may be more details than that so I refer you to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to catch anything I've missed!
(Please look through all photos (and read my nonsense if you want)-I'm starting my giveaway!

Having just returned from the Sea to find my Summer kit waiting for me I was really inspired! I love these ocean colors of peach, sand (draft), aqua and cream and my favorite stamp is the Mermaid Tilda. Be sure to check out the whole collection (called Bon Voyage) on MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS! I was so inspired that I went for the whole gift ensemble! A rarity for me, fer sure! I loved every second of creating these things to show you. I ALWAYS use SCOR-TAPE to put projects like this together. It just holds SOOOO well!
The Trendy Tool Tote is from My Time Made Easy (and it was really EASY to make). The gift card box (yep, it's a little box) is also designed by Lauren, and is available at Papertrey Ink. It is one of three (for 5.OO!) called Cash or Charge. So worth the $! My friend LISA KIND constantly inspires me with her wonderful creations with simple templates!

Another friend, TRACY HARP made a 3D item the other day and printed another template to line her box! So clever that I copied her! I stamped the Apricot paper with a plaid bg stamp

The mermaid on the card.
Please send a note if you have any questions-this post is SOOOO long!

The mermaid on the box (her tail is lighter).

Pics of the gift card box, which is a genius design! The card stands up in a little slot inside! Mine closes with a Basic Grey magnet.

Well, I got a little carried away with photos so I won't jabber anymore! (Well, a little more!)
I have my blog candy gathered (forgot to photo!)
It includes FIVE MAGNOLIA STAMPS, A MARTHA STEWART EDGE PUNCH, BASIC GREY OLIVE AND OLIVIA 6X6 INCH PADS AND A MERMAID CARD.
(I'LL PHOTO IT TOMORROW AND POST SOON!) JUST LEAVE ME A COMMENT TO ENTER, SAY WHATEVER YOU LIKE, BUT BE KIND, PLEASE!

Now, on the the HOP or SWIM! Please go on over to APRIL'S ROSES to see what gorgeousness April has to show you today!!
As always, my deepest appreciation that you take the time to come here!

Christmas in July blog Hop!

Hello friends! I'm at the very start of the Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop! It's all part of the wonderful Magnolia-Licious Yahoo Group's activities and I'm glad you stopped by! the link above will take you to the blog where you can get links to all the participants if you get lost.
Once again, I've kept it simple. That's mostly due to time, but I also like to make cards, particularly for Christmas which are easily mailed as this one will be. I started with the lovely Saint Lucia image from Diana's store. I knew I wanted to use some of the Magnolia paper too so I chose this soft blue snowflake pattern. There is also a green print with mistletoe branches that I thought I could incorporate, but it was not to be. Anyway, that's what drove me to use green with the blue. The ribbon is from Papertrey-aqua mist which becomes mint green when paired with green! Neat trick! The tiny sentiment is also from PTI and is punched with a Martha Stewart punch. the whole card has been sprayed with Clear Shimmer mist.
I used copics for coloring:
Eooo, E11, and R30 skin
Hair Y21, YR24, E25
Flame and glow Y23, Yr12, Y000
and blues B60 and B91
Green G0000, G21 and G29
Thanks for hopping by! Now your next stop on the hop is Glenda at In My Craft Room.
I KNOW she has something very special because she showed a peek of it earlier in July!
Have a super day!

Back to school!

Say it ain't so!! I know a lot of teachers who hate to see the end of July! It means August is coming and we all have to get started on our rooms at school. Summer is trickling through our fingers! But, all that aside, I couldn't resist coloring one of Mo's school children digital images. This one is Trinity. Take a look at all Mo's School Kids HERE
I started out wanting to use the beautiful new Papertrey color Harvest Gold (is it like SUs new daffodil?) for my card. Once her sweater was done I decided on a cute denim skirt. Blue and yellow, perfect! I had no intention of going with primary colors, but because of the apple the red snuck in! Hey, a green apple would have been okay too, I guess. Oh, well.
I don't like how the ruler ribbon bled. I stamped the ruler from the PTI school set onto grosgrain ribbon. I'll have to work on that! It would probably be okay on an antiqued card but I'm not so sure on this one~I may have to take it apart and do a fix!

colors used are;
skin E00, E11, R30
Hair Y21, YR24, E35, E25
Red R08, R17, R27, R29
Yellow Y21, Y23
Blues (a lot to get the color I wanted)
B21, B41, B23, B95, B45, B99
Dp is Cosmo Cricket, Jillibean Soup and Bo Bunny!
I have the sketch in my saved files, but I'm sorry, I don't know whose it is.
Thanks for coming by today!
Tomorrow is the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long blog hop and Monday is the Magnolia-licious DT blog hop with a Nautical theme starting right here!
I think Monday will be a good time to get my Blog candy pulled together for all my wonderful regular visitors who take the time to come by.
Have an excellent day!

Seize the cupcake!

Hi! I inked up a Stampin' Up stamp that I had to have last year! I'm sure I paid way to much on ebay for it, but 'nuff said! LOL!I love this image and it could go with MANY of the papers that I have just by choosing different colors. I like this Clean and Simple layout and hope you do too!
I used colors that were in the bag (of copics) that I had grabbed to take on vacation because I couldn't separate from ALL of them! (Never got them out once!)
the image is colored with couple of YGs, a couple of BGs and a couple of Vs, but that's all I can tell you! Sorry!
It is a good tip, though, that if you travel and have the same problem as I do leaving your supplies behind-just pack a small bag of some simple images and a few markers you could use to color them. Also take a couple of full Blender pens with you. They can be handy to have, but not take up much space.
I have much to do today-not just cleaning some CREATING too because there are some blog hops coming up for Magnolia-licious-Sunday is Christmas All Year Long and Monday the Design team has one in the Nautical theme.
Thanks for coming by today. Wishing you an excellent day and weekend!

You are a Peach!

Good morning! We're back at home safe and sound AND I got a card made! I did get my summer kit, but while figuring out what to start with I decided to get out an older image (that hadn't seen ink!). It is peach season here now and the ones we've had are delicious! Diana has the peach and peach branch in stock, but I don't see the Tilda right now. If you interested, be sure to contact her! The Magnolia do hicky dies are marvelous! They cut the card stock beautifully and don't get stuck in the die! Love them!
I colored Tilda in the following colors:
skin E000, E11, and R30
basket Y21, YR24 and E25
Hair E33, E25 and E29
leaves YG25 and YG17
sleeves E42 ad E43
Dress, boots, scarf and peaches Yr21, Yr12, YR65 and YR18

Today the guy is here to clean the carpets and the noise is so loud I can hardly hear myself think! Maybe these pictures will take me back to last week when we were on vacation!

These are sunrises on two different days.

Thanks so much for coming by! Have a great day!

Hi there, Alli cat!

Hi folks! It's Friday night and Dave and I have packed the car and will be starting out for home in the morning Saturday. So sad! I hate when vacation is over and it's back to reality! On the other hand I miss our pets, my gardens, my friends, etc so once we're on the road all will be well (after about an hour, anyway). This cute little cat is from Mos' Digital Pencil Too and is called Alli wants in. I used a generic Papertrey Ink sentiment in the upper window. I have so many that would fit there, it was hard to choose!
I wanted to paper piece the curtains, but this plaid from Basic Grey doesn't come in the 6X6 pad :( (Why do they DO that!) The plaid was much too large so i colored my own!
I started with a base color (BG10) then added some shading in Bg72. Then I put in the plaid lines with YG17 or 25. Then I added more shading with BG72 and BG18 (if I remember correctly!)
The rest of them image was pretty easy to color. I tried to make the birds look like orioles and the cat look like our Charlie. the card is 4" x6" to accomodate the long image I printed.

Thanks for coming by! I'm so happy to have reached 200,000 hits! Thank YOU!! Thank You!!!
Wishing you a terrific day and weekend. I'll post again as soon as I get laundry started and a chance to sit down in my "studio"
Love ya! Cheryl

Mos' Monthly Blog Hop!

Hi Friends!!! Thanks for all the love on my Magnolia card the other day AND for the couple of sweeties who gave me the title!! Much appreciated!!
Mo's (Mo's Digital Pencil) monthly Blog Hop is today and it was invented by Elaine who challenged us to use one of Mo's Digital images and be inspired by a Fairy Tale!! "Hmmmmm!", we all said, "What does she mean?" Weeelll, Mo does have some GREAT fairy tale images, but I went a different direction!
I looked through my images on the computer and decided this little mouse (Flossie) could be from the Disney version of Cinderella! Remember? They all help her get ready for the ball? Well, I think Flossie is celebrating the Wedding of the Prince and Cinderella with a fabulous cupcake!! Are you buying this? Hope so!
I think she is decked out for the party of parties! Here are the colors I used:
YG01 and yG25 for the cupcake paper
BG10 and BG15 for her dress
V000, V01, V06, V15 and V09 for the purples
I'm not sure about Flossie's fur but I think I used E42, E35 and E25
(I brought a little sticky note with colors in my suitcase all the way to Maine with me-didn't realize I was missing any! Oops!)
I used Bo bunny dp and lots of stickles to match the theme and colors.
(Alternate inspiration: There's a wonderful folktake called Flossie and the Fox which is a Red riding Hood type story. However, that's even more of a stretch because Flossie is a little girl who outsmarts a fox. The only thing she has in common with my mouse is her name!)
Okay, (as Mothermark would say), THAT'S MY STORY! Now, if it's your pleasure I hope you will head to DEBBIE'S BLOG! I just know she's done something wonderful!
Thanks so much for visiting!! I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll be back soon-like Saturday with another card.
Hugs, Cheryl

Just because....

This post is "Just because" I worked my tail off when I should have been packing. I wanted to get more cards done and preposted, but it was not to be! I'm not ever as organized as I intend to be! BUT, I did get a few cards made and loaded onto the computer and I am posting this from our motel room on the coast of beautiful Maine!
This is our 7th year to come here for one week in July and we love it! We already have taken our morning walk and set our chairs up on some precious real estate out there. We've had breakfast and DH is doing dishes. (Yep, he's that great a guy!) We are blessed to be spending another day together reading, getting wet in the ocean and with our biggest decisions being when to call the sitter and check on the cats and where to have our lobster dinnah! Life is good!

Anyway, I love how this card turned out. I uses R81, 83 and 85 for my pinks and matched it to Girls Paperie paper. I just got this glittered flower in an order from scrapbook.com and I tinted the edges with some rose red ink and a sponge. I love Tilda's hair like this and wish Pauline would draw some others with this "do"! The sentiment is from PTI and the darker paper is from My Mind's Eye because it was a better match than any of the solid colors that I have.
The only thing I wish I'd had time to do was to sew on the card. I think that would have made it perfect and I may have to make another for dear Diana complete with stitching.
I can't find this Tilda in her store right now so if anyone knows the name of it I would love to know.
Getting closer to 200,000 hits and a giveaway at the end of July-hope you can stick around!
I also hope you are enjoying your own fabulous day today!
Bye for now,
Cheryl

Vintage Pictic take two!

Decided to post this next to yesterday's post as I get everything finished and scheduled for next week. I really do love the versatility of this set from Papertrey Ink! I used a sketch from Taylored Expressions (#114) to show off papers from TheGirls' Paperie-Paper Girl collection. The card is pretty self explanatory otherwise. the card is 4.75" square.
Thanks for coming by again! Wishing you a really excellent day and weekend!

Wishing You Well!

Hello dear friends!
I hope this day finds you well, happy and enjoying another summer day! We have had 90 degrees daily for almost a week and I'm not complaining! Of course, that also has to do with not having to go to work and firing up our room airconditioners and fans in the morning! I've been walking around the lake (3 mi) every day at 6:00 AM and having outside work done by 10:00! It gets a little hot after that! DH and I did take our kayaks out in the evening a couple of nights ago. Good times! I made this card for a friend who just had surgery. It seems when I'm not stealing outright from Debbie Olson I'm channeling her! I used vintage picnic from Papertrey Ink and Cosmo Cricket paper with my beloved Kraft card stock.
I make several of this type of card at a time. I stamp the picnic basket on different papers and color them all up. since it's summer I stamped the daisies on cream (about 8 of them!) and colored them up. Then I cut my baskets out and lay them on the cream paper with the daisies. I'll have a very different card on the same idea to show you in a day or so.
I'm trying to get ahead as DH is on vacation next week! Yeah!
I'm doing great after my surgery and I see the DR. today. Thanks for all your well wishes! They are very much appreciated!
Better get some other stuff done before my appt. See you soon and thank for coming by the
Cottage!

Chef Tilda with a Gift Card!

Hi! I was inspired to make this card yesterday by the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast-cookiebaker. She had a card with a chef tucked in the pocket of the apron and it made me think of this Tilda! I had made the flower and the leaves some time ago and they were just waiting for a project! The vintage paper from Jillibean Soup seemed perfect with them to me! I don't have the colors I used to color Tilda because I must admit she has been colored up for some time too! This project came together quickly! I did some real stitching since because after all it is an apron.

It has been really hot here in Western New York for over a week (lovin' it!) so it is difficult to think of cooking! I love that there is a little pocket on the back of the apron which holds a gift card (the long way). Wouldn't a red Applebee's card in this make it the perfect gift! I think so!

If you've been inspired-here is the link for the Apron template!

Barbeque Apron Card
I played around with it by cutting the whole apron from DP, but then wanted it to be more stiff so I cut the top part of the apron from card stock then folded the pocket behind. If you have any questions, just let me know!

Hope you had a safe and happy Fourth and wishing you a great day today!

The Birds and the Bees!

Well, actually I've got the bee (and the flowers). To see the birds I hope you will check out the Copic Creations Challenge which has been posted today! But first, my card. I used Papertrey Ink's All About You Additions. I just had to have this flower garden image when the June release cam out! Debbie Olson provided me with the colors for the start when she posted a card. I used them for this card, but I will be coloring them in different combos!
Using her card as inspiration I tried to add my own touches! I hope you like!
Now here is the link to see some realistic birds colored with copic markers by the best artists around! Copic Creations Challenge Blog. check 'em out!
I've got to get more work done today than I did yesterday! So I'm off!
Have a great day yourself!
