IBFS tag

Hello! It's Wednesday and time for another I Brake for Stamps challenge. The challenge for the next two weeks is to make a project with a background stamp. You can read the details over on the I Brake for Challenges Blog. I'm not sure my tag counts as using a background stamp, but it's what I was inspired to make! (It's early here in NY-the challenge will be up in a bit) this is the IBFS Snowflake collage. There are many new stamps in the store and Della also sells Wild Orchid flowers! Use my code SAVE10CHERYL for 10% off your order!
I stamped the image in Memento tuxedo blac and colored the blue sections with BG10 and then darkened some areas with BG72 and a touch of BG75. Then I used E42 and a blender to darken the tan areas that I wanted. I used BG78 around the edge of the tag and some E37 around the stamped image.
Of course I wanted soime sparkle so I added distress stickles (sugar candy) with my finger and dried it with my heat gun. Then I added stardust stickles to other areas for a different sparkle.
A ribbon in the top and my tag was done!
(The "for You" sentiment is a stamp from an old SU set) You could also handwrite the recipients name in the box.
I love that you visited today! Please consider joining our background stamp challenge. You don't have to use an IBFS image, but if you do that'd be great!
Enjoy your day!
Hope mine is better than yesterday!

Simple snowflake cards

Hello! Do you need to send out thank yous? I do! After a busy holiday season I wanted to make something simple (but elegant) to send out. This first card is a square (4.25"). I used the SNOWFLAKE from I Brake for Stamps as my focal image. I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it with white filigree embossing powder. Then I used my aqua stencil brush and Adirondack ink (Stream) to swirl color around the snowflake. I wiped the embossed part off with a tissue. I cut and dry embossed the square with my spellbinders and mounted it on 'Taken with Teal card stock. My card base is Shimmer from Papertrey Ink. I added Ice Stickles and the pearl in the center to finish it off. I made a set of these and packaged them in a clear box as a hostess gift for a holiday party we were invited to.
Yesterday, I decided to try the idea in another color- Adirondack Butterscotch and Cranberry. It matched Berry Sorbet from PTI.

Finally, here is another standard A2 card made into a Thank you by adding the sentiment in Taken with Teal ink. I also did the card in green with a little aqua that I'll show you on another day!
Now to get my notes written!
Please use my code to get 10% off your order at I Brake for Stamps! (This stamp is only 2.00 unmounted, but you're sure to find more in the store!)
Thanks so much for visiting!!

LLWWC25 is all about....

No DP! Lisa has given us (and YOU!) the challenge of making a card using no DP! You, know the "old fashioned" way!
Remember when we all used to stamp a background with a large stamp or repeated small ones? That's fun to do sometimes, but I opted for the Cuttlebug folder, Snowflakes. I certainly was not one of the first to have a CB. I kept reading about it and wondering what in the heck it was! Once I took the plunge I have never looked back! I still love it and it fits on the stand where I work. No Big Shot or Wizard for me, at least not YET!
Anyway, I used Winter Lala for my card and some of the great SU Bermuda Bay with Kraft and white card stock. Please check out the Lala Land Blog for the designers gorgeous projects! You can also find the details for how you can join in with us!
Have fun!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Second card-Snow in Blue

Good morning! Wow, thank you so much for all the great comments yesterday! Weren't all the snowman cards just terrific!
As promised, here's my second with the snow colored with blues and a similar layout. I did make this one as an easel card which is so fun and easy! I used Baja Blue and Celery to match my Wintergreen (SU paper which I have hoarded! I love it so much! I think it was made to match Sage Shadow, but it is perfect with Baja! The layour on the front of the card is a sketch by Cindy Lawrence in a past VSN on splitcoast. It's a real keeper for large center images. I used my copics to color the snow. I started very light with BG0000, then BG10 and sparingly BG72 for the darkest. I used the cool greys for his hat and YGs for the vest. Here are the YGs I used YG01, YG21, YG93 and YG95.
Remember the team wants to see how YOU color snow! You can check out the details on Copic Creations Challenge Blog. You can win 25.00 from Whipper Snapper!
Lest you think this has become a snowman blog-tomorrow I will have a Magnolia card with one of the new Maggies!
Thanks for visiting!

CCC-Let it Snow!

We are supposed to get some snow tonight so this challenge is perfect! I love coloring snowmen! You just keep it light with a little color and voila! Actually, coloring snowmen reminds me of many nights when I tole painted wood. Snowmen and Santas were favorites of mine! They still are! This challenged is sponsored by Whipper Snapper. They have so many great stamps! They are donating a 25.00 gift certificate to the winning cardmaker! I decided to make the snow "brown" on this card and go with an antique look. It was lots of fun to coordinate with this wonderful Cosmo paper called Winter Wonderland.
I used E43, E42 , E40 and E000 for the snow.
I even used distressed stickles in linen for the muted sparkle!
Anna Wight's snowflakes are favorites on cards like this and Nicole Heady's packages of buttons have buttons of the same color but different sizes which are perfect!

Now I really had fun with this and made another card using a similar layout, the same snowman, but completely different colors with a focus on BLUE snow! I hope you'll return tomorrow to see him.
Thanks for visiting! Be sure to check out the art from the other designers! Copic Creations Challenge is HERE! (If the post isn't up yet it will be soon!)
Have a great day! SIL is doing better! I am so grateful for your prayers!
