Color Challenge from JUGS #250

Hi again and thanks for coming by!  Today Vicki at Just Us Girls has a great color challenge for us today!  It's turquoise, green and lime!  Super summer colors, don't ya think?
I've been in a coloring mood lately, so I stamped some Magnolia images that had never seen ink and this is one of them-Tilda with Love Cake. My Magnolias have come from Magnolia-licious here in the US.  Diana gives great customer service and gets the new collections quickly!  She also offers a couple of different discounts when  you order!
Tilda is stamped on Xpress it Blending card and colored with copics.  I use Just4FunCrafts color charts for help with color choices these days. It's quick to find a color I want and then I just grab those copics.  Here's the link to my Board on Pinterest so you can check out her site.
I love using the random pearls, but I'm so bad at placement. How is it that other crafters use just the right numbers of dots or pearls in just the right places?!  Perhaps I used too many so I kill the effect?? I also love how the MFT pierced and stitched dies look on a card.  They are great!! My dp is from Papertrey Ink-Hawaiin Shores, Simply Chartreuse, and Limeade Ice.
Please check out ALL the inspiration on the Just Us Girls Blog (you won't be sorry!) and if you have some crafting time this week we sure hope you'll try our colors and show us your creation!
Again, my appreciation for stopping by!! Cheryl

Wedding card

Hello and happy Friday!  I know everyone who works looks forward to these summer weekends. I do as well, but it's a little bitter sweet as each Friday means another week of not having to go to work has gone by! I know, you don't feel sorry for us at all!
Enough whining, it's not my style!  But this card is! We have a wedding on the 26th of the month and the bride has some teal in the wedding. That's how I chose my background color (PTI_Hawaiin Shores). I used the MFT bride and groom dies again for this card.  You can see another I made recently with gold glitter paper (for a 50th anniversary). Just check out my Splitcoast gallery to see it. I don't think I wrote a blog post for it.
There's also a bit of a hint within this card regarding the Just Us Girls color challenge which will be posted at midnight! We sure hope you'll join us this week!
I appreciate so much that you took the time to come by and see what I've been up to!  Happy Summer weekend!!
Cheryl
OH, I ALMOST FORGOT. HERE'S A PICTURE OF MY BLOG GIVEAWAY FOR THIS WEEK. I DIDN'T GET ANY COMMENTS (besides my design team) SO I'M GOING TO LEAVE IT OPEN FOR NEXT WEEK TOO. I'll use comments from this card and from the Magnolia (Tilda) that I'll have posted tomorrow - July 19) Thanks!

More woodgrain!

Hello!!  I thought I'd post another woodgrain card to inspire you to join us in this week's challenge at Just Us Girls!  We are asking you to create something new with a woodgrain on it! You know, a background stamp, designer paper or one you've created yourself!  ANY woodgrain!

For my card, I used some My Mind's Eye paper behind this new frame die from Memory Box and my stamp is Flower Garden by Penny Black.  I colored the stamp with distress markers, spritzed it just a little and then stamped it on watercolor paper.  I've also added some shine with a Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen. I'm sorry you can't see it!

Will keep my post short as it's a busy day-going with a couple of friends to a garden and home tour at Chautauqua Institution-a very famous gated community in our area.  It's puts a bit of a damper on the day that there is a 70% chance of rain and has already been raining this morning.  Oh well, we'll make the best of it and enjoy our day.

The Just us Girls blog is linked HERE. It's where you can use Mr. Linky to link up your project! Please join us! YOu have until Thursday (July 17) evening at 9:00 pm ET.
Thanks! Cheryl

And I have some Magnolia stamps to give away! Please comment on post below for a chance to win!!

Just Us Girls #248 It's a TREND!

Hello!  One of the best trends that has come along recently (well, somewhat recently) is wood and wood grain!  I'm the host for Just Us Girls this week and that's what I challenge you with-create something with wood or woodgrain on it.  Please check out loads of inspiration HERE! and then join us this week, won't you!?

I went to some of my favorite things for this challenge (besides the wood!) . I stamped this beautiful Magnolia stamp on xpress it blending card with Memento tuxedo black and then reached for my beloved (but lately unused) copics.  I had a ball coloring her and the sunflowers in pots.
I chose this  beautiful floral paper from October Afternoon (an old collection called Report Card) and set about matching the colors!  My orange wood paper is from My Mind's Eye (On the Bright Side-Two, 6x6 pad). I cut the peaks in the fence by hand and then cut new (SU) Honey paper to put behind it. The border punch below is from a Martha Stewart punch.  I also punched grass from Pistachio Pudding and sponged that with a little Crumb Cake. The three little bees are part of the Tilda Scarecrow (mini stamp is still available), so, of course I had to use those! I wish you could see that I used stickles on their wings and also used brown stickles on the sunflower centers.  The sentiment is from AMuse Artstamps.  Tilda and the sunflowers are raised on dimensionals as is the sentiment banner.

I was so privileged to be part of Diana Crick's design team for such a long time, so I have many Magnolia stamps and even a few duplicates!! I would love to send some to a good home!  Please leave a comment below before our challenge closes on Thursday, July 18 and I'll choose a winner using random.org. Entering the challenge will get you another chance to win!!
Will try to get a picture posted this weekend once I pull the 'goodie package together!  Join us and GOOD LUCK!!

JUGS #248 Bird is the word!

Yep, the word is BIRD!  Just Us Girls is changing up our challenges a bit for fun!  There will also be some surprises along the way!  Stay tuned!  For today, Maria has this great challenge-BIRD!  Please check out our blog for tons of inspiration.  It's right HERE!

And, obviously, this is my card for the challenge!  I used a favorite bird of mine from Whipper Snapper designs-drawn by the amazing Anna Wight!  The fence is from Impression Obsession and the grasses are from Memory box/Poppystamps.  The red dotted paper is from Papertrey Ink as is the yellow dotted paper.
The sentiment is from Wplus9 stamps.  I raised the fence with dimensional tape and also tucked a couple of enamel dots in the corner for balance.  Inside, I'll use my old sentiment which says 'Just chicken in to see how you've been"

That's it for me for now!  Thanks, as always for coming by!  I sure appreciate it and won't you consider joining us in the BIRD challenge this week?  You have until Thursday, July 10 at 9:00 pm ET to do so!  And we REALLY want to see what you come up with for this one!
Thanks again, Cheryl
