A Dream Come True!

Good Saturday morning! Whoo Hoooo it's a three day weekend! This means there will be time to straighten the house, work outside and RELAX before the weekend ends! Love that!
Another dream come true is to to design with Magnolia stamps from Magnolia-licious and to be part of the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group! So on to the card-I made it for the celebration (Birthday Bash) of the Yahoo group's 2nd birthday! There are eight weeks of challenges being put on by the group moderators and this is number three-a sketch challenge by Chris! (see Links below, Please!) I think this would make a great engagement card for a girl-maybe my niece one day! You can read all about it AND see Chris' sketch on the Birthday Bash Blog! My image is from Magnolia-licious
Diana has THE BEST selection of Magnolia images! I notice some at 40% off this morning! AND she is having weekend mysteries where she hides a FREE stamp among her inventory! All you have to do is find it and add it to your cart! When you check out you won't be charged for that stamp!
ETA: I guess this weekend's hunt is over. Two people already found the Spring Kits which were hidden by Diana. Sorry! Tune in next weekend!
I also used Magnolia paper that I got from Diana's store! She mentioned that the frog pattern is her favorite so I made this card for her! (I'll have to make another for my niece!) I worked a LOT of pinks (Rs and RVs to get a color that is even close to the orchid pink that is in the paper. That's one of the many reasons why I love my copics-I just keep adding colors to get what I want. Please send me a note if you have a need to know and I will try to figure it out for YOU!
The greens are
G000, G00, , G02 and a little G40. Her hair is Y21, YR24, E99, E25. When I add a darker color I go back and blend with my lightest-Y21. If you blend with a blender you can get too much bleeding in the small areas. Just a tip!
Okay, I have to get going on laundry and a little picking up (messy, messy craft room) so I can read on the deck in the pm! Fire outside tonight!
WISHING YOU A WONDERFUL DAY!

Happy Bird-day!

I {{heart}}} my Whipper Snapper images, but they don't get as much love as they deserve! I colored this one up quickly the other night for our nephew who turns 28 today! The inside sentiment says "Happy Bird-day to you!" It's from an old SU salebrations set. I colored the image with my copics, cut it with a spellbinders rectangle and left it in the die to add some Baja Breeze to the edges with my 1" stencil brush-my preferred method.
Some great Delovely paper from Cosmo Cricket and stickles and the card was done!
I had second thoughts about the bow, but it was added with a little piece of Scor-tape (the BEST adhesive!) so there was no moving it! (I think I should have put a row of three small buttons instead)
Have a great Wednesday-the best part about a Drs. appt today is that I only have to work half a day! (Hey, it's not my fault the Doc moved my appt from 4:00 to 1:30 and I had to take the half day!)

Christmas All Year Long-May 25!

It's the 25th again and time for another Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop! Now that you've arrived we can get started! I pulled out an old favorite Tilda Elf (not sure if this is her REAL name!) I don't think I've ever colored her in anything but red and green so I got out some of the Magnolia paper from Diana's store and went to work! I was (as usual) running late and it was time for Dancing with the Stars so I went with a tried and true layout!
Thanks so much for visiting on the hop! Now, to continue head off to Deb's blog
Playing With Color to see her festive creation!
And if you get lost, you can visit The Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog to see the whole list!
Thanks for all the kind comments on yesterday's sunflower card! I appreciate them all!
Have a great day!

Good morning, Sunshine!

Hello! Once again, I don't know where the weekend has gone, but it was a good one! We had quite a rainy Saturday. My sister and I traveled to a few greenhouses to get some plants. Love to do that in the rain! Well, my card has nothing to do with rain! We had a beautiful day on Sunday and between planting some of those flowers I got this made. Its Tilda with Sunflower and the little sunflowers are also made by Magnolia. (Diana has some different sunflowers in stock which are more like the one in Tilda's hand) See HERE! I used paper from October Afternoon (the gingham) and from Fancy Pants (sunflower) with Soft sky, Baja Breeze and Vintage Cream card stock.
At the end I used lots of sparkle on this 5' x5" card.
Ready for her close up!

Below is my little "redo" on the inside of my explosion box! It was just too plain compared to all of yours!

There is so much going on this week. Please visit tomorrow for the Christmas All Year Long blog hop.
Diana posted that she had a HUGE order come in so her stock is even more plentiful than usual!
She will be having another Magnolia-licious Mystery Weekend this upcoming weekend where she hides a FREE stamp in her inventory! You just have to find it and add it to your cart! It's on Saturday and Sunday, I believe. Isn't Diana GREAT!!?!
Okay, gotta get going! (Colors for Sunflower listed below!)
Thanks for coming by and have an excellent day!

Mo's DT blog hop! FLOWERS!

Hey, everyone! Thanks for hopping to my little blog! I'm the end of the line today. If you are starting here and want to be sure not to miss any Mo Magnificence you can start with Mina's blog-Pinkpuds.
Our theme today is flowers of any kind and anywhere on your card! I used Mos' image Cat's in the Bag which you can find HERE
You can also get a set with the Cat's in the Bag and Cat's out of the Bag! Cool beans!
Our cats get into any boxes or bags that come into the house. No matter what size our ornage cat, Charlie will try to squeeze his big body into it! So, here I put him into a pink gift bag. I stamped a sentiment (it's tiny) from the Papertrey Ink set , Mixed Messages. There are lots that would fit on Mo's bag.
I colored with copics (of course) and used some new, bright Cosmo Cricket paper, DeLovely for my card mount. Flowers are from Prima and Michael's.
I hope you like it! Now if you want to head to Mo's blog HERE'S THE LINK.
You can see her latest drawings AND get to her store if you're in the mood for shopping!
Again, thanks very much for hopping and stopping!

Two Simple cards

Hello and Happy Wednesday! It's hump day! I can see the weekend on the horizon!
I've had these Papertrey Ink flowers colored for awhile and am late with so many cards so I needed to do something with them. I colored up some leaves and CASEd a card that Nichole Heady posted for the May release. They are rather simple in design, but aren't those flowers great?!

I often use the copic colors that Nichole gives in her store (on the copics page) for each of her stores colors. Often they are perfect! I always check Debbie Olson's blog too. she usually shows her marker colors.
For the leaves I used my own (I think) combination.
YG21, YG91, YG93 and YG95
For the pink flower I used R30, R32 and R35
The orange flower is YR12, YR15 and YR18
You may be seeing this card again. I'm trying another and stamping the center rectangle with versamark and a bg stamp so it's not so plain. If I like the effect I'll post it!
The white lines are drawn with a ruler and and Inkssentials pen. I sponged the edges of the card with Vintage Photo distress ink.
Thanks for coming by today!

Edwin with Paddle

Pretty lame title! Sorry-it's Sunday night and I have no imagination! Edwin is in his patriotic clothes for the JUGs Challenge. It's Lisa's week to post the challenge and she decided on Red, White and Blue with the option of Kraft! Great idea!
I used my Papertrey Ink woodgrain impression template with Kraft paper. Then I sponged it with Distress inks in Vintage Photo and Walnut. Well, of course, then I didn't want to cover it up, sooo... another of my simple cards! I have a small stamp that says, "AHOY" so I will probably put that inside. (How I wish I had a little sailboat charm!)
I didn't keep track of the blues that I used or the hair.
The oar (or paddle) is Y21, E35, and E99.
His skin is E000, R20 and E11
The reds are R22, R24, R29 and R59
Guess that's it for today! Thanks so much for coming by! I wish you a great day!

Copic Creations Challenge 28

Hello and isn't it a terrific day! Today I have the card I created for CCC28-Monochrome coloring.
Our challenge this time is generously sponsored by the MULTI TALENTED Katie Cotton. She is the owner of Paper Makeup Stamps. She shared some of her images for us to work with AND she is giving a $35.00 Gift Certificate to her store! WOW, great prize! Thanks, Katie! To read all the details, please visit our Main Blog-Copic Creations Challenge.
My card uses paper from Basic Grey (archaic) and My Mind's eye (small pad from Michael's)
AND Iggy Iguanadon from Katie's store.
Iggy is colored with Warm Grey markers. I only have every other color in the grays, so I used
W00, W1, W3, W5, W7 and W9.
I chose these after view Katie's two videos on coloring monochrome-they are linked on the Copic Creations blog by our Leader, Mary. Thanks, Mary! Definitely videos worth viewing!

AND I cannot fail to mention that my friend, Lisa, whom I've written about here is on Katie's design team! Her blog is definitely worth a visit!

Thank you for all the great comments yesterday! The blog hop explosion boxes were fabulous! I'm afraid mine was rather plain by comparison! I've taken it back to "the workshop" to do a little tweaking on the inside scene! Will post when finished!

Weather is awesome here! DH and I have already walked around the lake this beautiful morning! (After French toast for breakfast I needed to walk!)
Have a wonderful day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY....

To the BESTEST group on the web! It's our Magnolia-licious (Yahoo) group's 2nd birthday and we're celebrating!! Huge thanks to DEB for getting this off the ground 2 years ago and working with Diana to promote the sale of the images we all adore! To kick off the EIGHT WEEK celebration we are having a Blog Hop of EXPLODING card/boxes!
Fun, WOW! I get to be the start of the blog hop, but if you want to read any details you can also vist the special Birthday Blog! As I type this on Friday night I don't know the prize/prizes, but when has a prize ever been a bad prize? NEVER
Sp I used three Magnolia images-Tilda with bee, the log and the leaves (from the jungle release). I chose this image because I wanted a sitting image to sit in my 3" square box AND I wanted to use my Martha Stewart bee punch. (I didn't get the punch worked in!)

The blending on her shirt is better IRL-the camera didn't like my project tonight!
I used E000, E11 and R20 for skin.
BG10 and BG72 for her jeans.
R22, R24 and R29 for the red stripes and her socks
Y21, Y32, Y15 and Y18 for the yellow stripes
The log is Y32, E55, E25 and E29
The leaves are YG21, YG25 and YG17
I guess that's it!
Please travel to Cathia's Blog
to see what beauty she's come up with!
Have a great day! I'll be back with a post tomorrow!

Super duper girl!

Hello!!
Here is an image of Mo's called "Super Duper Girl" Do you have a Super duper girl in your family? We do! Ours is Amber, our almost 23 year old niece. She is working and going to grad school in Buffalo and just got a promotion on her job. She's kind, gentle, patient, loving and beautiful! We're so proud of her! Can you tell! The sentiment is computer generated, based on the title Mo gave the image. My close up below shows a little of the pizzazz I added. Shiny rubber boots, Stardust stickles on her emblem and I used a clear glitter pen on her crown and the blue stripe on her cape. Wish you could see it!
I'll give colors below. You can get the image here on Mo's Digital Pencil
Have a Super duper day!

Monday?... Already?

Hi, friends! I have no idea where the weekend went, but I hope all of you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Dave and I had a great weekend. Lots of time together and I got to see some of my family, too! Here's another Poppy card I finished on Sunday night. I love this layout for a square card! This one happens to be 4.5" square so I could show some of the beautiful October Afternoon paper. I think one is from Thrift shop and the other from Fly a Kite. Mix and match!
I tried something I saw at my LSS-I colored and extra 'face' and 'flower' and glued them right on top of the base image. It just gives a subtle dimension to the card. I like it. The flower is a new one from Prima-peach and orange colors. Yum!

This was the "not so good" part of our weekend. I guess I have bragged too much about our beautiful weather! We got some rain, but LOTS of wind. Saturday afternoon Dave looked our the kitchen window and said, " Our apple tree is down!" We went out and were surprised to see that it had just tipped over! Soooo sad!
Here's Dave surveying the work ahead of him to get it cut up! It will remove some of our backyard shade and a haven for many of our birds including the Baltimore Orioles who have just returned to eat grape jelly from our feeder. We'll miss this old friend.
Wishing you a great day, and as always thanks for visiting!

Poppy Friday!

Hello and thanks for popping in! After a couple of recent trips to Buffalo Stamps and Stuff I fell in love with these little Poppy Stamps! I got a couple, but then had to order to doggy online. I used copics to color my little duo here and used some great Cosmo Cricket paper from Garden Variety and some October Afternoon from Fly a Kite. I stitched like crazy in red thread and used my typical bow and button to finish it off. Just a fun card, IMO!
We have had some gorgeous spring weather here in Western New York for the last couple of weeks. The sky is clear and blue and the air is so clean. Green is emerging everywhere you look. Wonderful spring shades of green! I would give anything to sit and drink my coffee on the back deck instead of going to work! Here is what I see from my deck-one of my gardens.
We have some funky grass out back that is still brown, but once it's green it stays green into November no matter if we have a lack of rain in the summer.
Well, thanks for visiting me and our backyard today! I appreciate it so much! Will get back to our beloved Tildas this weekend!
Have a great day! Cheryl
I used E30, E31 and E25 for the dog
R24, 29 and 59 for the reds
BG11, BG13 and BG18 for the blue
E000, E11 and R20 for the skin.

More Springfest projects!

Good morning! Today I want to show you the shoebox project that I took for my tablemates to make at out Springfest gathering. I used Vintage Picnic and Button Bits from Papertrey Ink with paper from Fancy Pants (
vintage Valentine) and from MME (Quite Contrary)
The card is pretty simple really, but I LIKE it! I'm making more of these for my May birthdays!
Here's another version with paper from Basic Grey (Nook and Pantry) and with stitching-can you see it?

This is the inside of the CD/DVD case that I posted a couple of days ago.

And, HERE is the beautiful felt rose pin that our Springfest Leader, TRACY made as her 3-D project. I LOVE it!! She pinned it to this great shape for a stunning presentation!
Hope you've enjoyed your visit! I'm so glad you stopped by! Thanks (in advance) for any comments you have time to leave!
Have a great day! Cheryl

Springfest gift Exchange

Hello stampers! Just wanted to drop in with a quick post! Our third Springfest Stampers gathering is in the herstory books! It will go on record as the best yet! Each year when women return we get to know them better and new ones join us! Tracy and her volunteer staff made it a day of friendhsip, fun, food, and oh, yeah, PAPERCRAFTING! At the end of the day we have a gift exchange. Tracy had us all (nearly 100 women!) stand in a circle with our gift (wrapped, boxed or bagged). She made up a story on the spot using the words right and left throughout. Whenever she said one of those words we passed our gift in that direction! Fun, fun! This is the gift that I took to give. The CD case has a notepad inside and a pocket on the left that held a brand new Magnolia stamp! (I forgot to import the inside pic, I'll do that tomorrow)
I received a decorated gift bag with a matching box of note cards AND a beaded pen inside! Lynn E made it and I love it!
Here's a close up of our Honey Bee Tilda from Magnolia-licious!
Now if you want to see some other projects you can go to Tracy's Blog INKYDOODLES
She shows a couple more today, but if you scroll down to May 2 she showed a pic of the room we worked in AND a group pic of us after dinner-yep, finally a pic of me has made the internet! SCARY!! Leave Tracy some love, please, she has a surgery scheduled for 8:00 am!
then head over to KIND CREATIONs to see what Lisa made for her shoebox
Tomorrow I'll show my shoebox project.
Have a great Monday! ( I wish I'd taken the day off!)

Heard the News?

I guess the "News" is that I finally have a blog post done! I've missed you all so much and am so thrilled to have some new followers! I've posted a few photos because I just could not get a sharp one-maybe the dark papers? I don't know. This is Love News Tilda from Magnolia-licious! I just love HER! This the first time she has seen ink.
The card is alos for TWO of my design team "assignments" for May. I had to do two at once because this has been a busy week! Saturday is the 3rd annual Spring Fest of Stampers gathering in Amherst, NY and I had to finish all my projects. So.... this is a FABULOUS sketch by our own Becca Feeken for the Magnolia-licious design team and for all of you! Please go over to OUR BLOG to see the "real" sketch-I took a little creative license with it! (sorry, Becca!)
And, it is also for the Copic Creations Challenge starting today, to color something DIFFERENT than paper with your copics. See what I did? I used my copics to color some flowers I cut on my Cuttlebug from Tim Holtz Grunge Paper. My first time and I want to do more with it! Anyway, our sponsor this time is Maryanne Walker herself, our Copic guru or is it Goddess? Please check out the CCC BLOG for details on the prize! Details will be there sometime today (Saturday May 1)

I'm sorry, but with everything going on I had to clean up my table and did not get the colors jotted down. If you really need to know email me and cherylrowley@rocketmail.com and I will do my best to come up with them!
Papers are La Romantique from Graphic 45.
Thanks so much for coming back to the Cottage~!
Have a great Saturday! I know I will!
Cheryl
