IC169 Room Service

Good morning! I've been at this card for while and it's almost noon here! I think I should have quit on it sooner as the flowers are sort of overkill! It seems I am incapable of just using one flower or of using flowers without Martha Stewart leaves! My focus was intended to be this beautiful Tilda and my new found love, stickpins. So I should have stuck to a smaller embellishment in the upper right. Anyway, this Tilda is from the Love Collection, but I think she looks like she is in her Easter outfit. Remember getting a new Easter dress and hat for church? We always did. I only wish I looked this good in a hat! Never could wear them! My Tilda came from Magnolia-licious!
She is available there right now on EZ mount ready to stick on an acrylic block. I just love her!
Here is my close up. And for the first time, I've taken a picture of my markers. The Ciao that you can't see are E00, E02, RV000, and R85. I forgot to photo the browns which are E33, E35 and E37 with a darker brown then used for touches.

Upon posting this I'm going to go in and edit my Lilac Tilda post with the copics used. It was the post on Thursday, Feb. 26, in case you are interested!
Thanks for taking a look. I think I'll do another card with this girl and ditch the flowers! I think she needs a little shimmerz on her hat ribbon, too! Wow, can I spend a long time on a card!
Have a great Saturday! Cheryl
(Thanks for all the lovely comments here and at The Greeting Farm yesterday!)

Guest Designer for.....

The Greeting Farm! Marie's collection of stamp designs has really grown and I am proud to have made some cards for her! Thanks for this honor, Marie! Here is Marie's great store: The Greeting Farm!
And she also has some terrific ideas on her blog, also named The Greeting Farm!
Head over for a visit when you get the chance!
My card uses her cupcake stamp set colored with copic markers in some of my favorite colors, aqua and green.
She is going to post FIVE of the cards I sent her on her blog today using Cupcakes and Cup of Stuff (love the cute mice!) as well as my answers to some interesting interview questions she asked me!

Marie, thanks again for this honor to work with your images and thanks to YOU, my visitors for visiting once or everyday!

Tilda with Lilacs

Good Thursday morning! I wanted to do a scene card with this "older" Tilda stamp, but didn't have the time so this is what I came up with! Actually, I kind of like it. The focus is on Tilda and it's a great stamp that I had never inked up before last night! Can you believe it?! The Tilda with Lilacs and the sentiment as well as the bench came from Magnolia-licious.

I stamped Tilda with Memento Tuxxedo black on Papertrey white Card stock and colored her with my copic markers.
I've found yet another compulsion which is quite popular now-BUTTONS! The are a terrific embellishment for the center of flowers or alone like on this card. Now I need embroidery floss in every color just in case I don't want to use a neutral color. Oh no!
Copic colors: I'm so sorry-I cannot find the paper on which I jotted the colors! I should always keep my notebook nearby, but don't. It will turn up, I'm sure and I'll edit to add them in.
Thanks for taking a look at my little blog! I have some great readers out there!
Cheryl
Edited to add: found my paper! copics used are; YG91, YG03, E31, E35, E25, Y06, V12, V04, V15, V06, V09, C1, c3, C5

Retro Roses

Good morning! Well, back to work wasn't so bad, but was I tired last night!! This is a card I made over the weekend (when I had energy!).
This is actually a Magnolia stamp called Retro Roses. It is from the Summer 2008 Shabby Chic collection. This one is stamped on Hot Press water color paper and water colored. I'm not sure what black ink I used, but it was the WRONG one because I got some running when I used my reinkers to water color. Oh well, I like it anyway and maybe it's not too noticeable!
The paper is more of the new Graphic 45, Fashionista. I made a lot of shabby black cards this weekend. I decided to use Kiwi Kiss with this one for a different look.
I love the look when you leave the shape in the nestability and sponge. You get that nice, clean edge. Have you tried it yet?
Well, I have to get some photos emailed. I have had the privilege of designing for another company! The news will be out in a few days!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a good Tuesday!

FS107 Sittin' on a Cloud!

Hi! Here's my entry for today's featured stamper on SCS-Jami AKA Sgtstamper. She has a terrific gallery!
My Tilda card showcases my favorite in the Valentines 2009 collection. I've been wanted to use her to make a card that was NOT for Valentine's Day, so I went to blue and yellow. My tilda is stamped on hot press watercolor paper and her face and hands are colored with copics. Her hair and clothes are water colored with SU reinkers in banana, apricot appeal, caramel and bashful blue. I used my cloud template for the area behind her. the ink is Adirondack's Cloudy Blue, fitting I think! Maybe the clouds should have been a little darker?
The yellow paper is from last year's Easter paper from Scenic route and the dotted is from Bo Bunny. Love that stuff! It comes in so many colors! I want them all!

Here's the close up of the water coloring. Thanks for coming by today! Back to work tomorrow so I don't know if I can post every day. I do have some cards made up ahead, so we'll see.
Anyway, thanks for visiting!

CC206 More Rosey Kiwis!

Good Saturday to you! I finished this card yesterday, but saved it to post today. After all, it's already late because it's for the SCS color challenge on Tuesday!
I knew I wanted to do this one as soon as I saw the colors! There are so many possibilities. I decided to go with light and airy so I used this Cosmo Cricket paper from Honey Pie as my starter.
The stamps are so cute and small from SUs "A Flower for all Seasons" so I had plan how to fill the space. I decided on a hinge card. I cut card stock 4.25x 11" then score it at 5.5". After that, I score just the front of the card at 1.25" from the fold. That makes my hinge. The main panel is then 4.25" square and you also get to decorate the hinge. Then tape the inside of the hinge part together so just the square part of the card opens up. I saw this on SCS awhile ago and it always makes a card special.
My favorite part is the "Rose Red" ladybug!
thanks for stopping by to look!

WT206 Stripes

Hi all! Wow, the challenges have been great this week! This is for the Ways to use it challenge on SCS yesterday; stripes. I love stripes, especially when mixed with another pattern like this.
My striped paper is from DVWV, La Creme and the floral is new Graphic 45, Fashionista. Very international, wouldn't you say?! LOL!
The flower is from Penny Black, I think. I stamped it in Brilliance black, heat set it and colored it with copic markers. I added some Stickles in Stardust for sparkle. The ribbon is from Michael's.
I wish youi could see the rich cream and antiique brown with the black. Its just what I wanted to accomplish. I just couldn't get a very good photo.
Think I'll do the Limited supply challenge this afternoon as I enjoy my last day off work!
Hope you have time for creating today!

Tilda in her Blueberry outfit!

Good morning! While I had these Cosmo Cricket stamps on my table I decided to make a Magnolia card! I think Tilda's cherries look okay in blue! My stamps came from Diana at Magnolia-licious!
us! Tilda is stamped on Artistico White hot press watercolor paper. It has a somewhat smooth texture and is nearly white. I colored her skin with my copics. Doesn't work as well, but I didn't want to play around with the reinkers for skin.
Then I water colored the rest of her with SU reinkers in soft sky, baja breeze, not quite navy, kiwi kiss and old olive. The bench is stamped on PTI vintage cream and colored with copics. Tilda and her bench are raised on dimensionals.
Thanks for coming by to look! Special thanks to those who have time to comment!
Have a great Thursday!

Technique Lover's Box!

Hello after a few days' absence! I'm sorry I don't get to post as often as I'd like! I make plans to create and before I know it the day is gone and projects aren't done! This box is for TLC208 on SCS! Wow, was this fun! I printed the template that Lynn provided right onto my Baja breeze card stock. Then I stamped it with PTI's polka dots. Love that set!
After that I decided on some light and airy flowers from the SU set Simply Said. It was a breeze to color! Without masking (too lazy!) I sponged Barely Banana around my flowers. It needed something so I got my stencil brush and swirled on some Adirondack Cranberry ink (first swirled on scrap paper to lighten)
The medallion is on dimensionals. The MS lace edge is punched from yellow dp that was at the back of Basic Grey's 6x6 pad, Two Scoops. I also swirled a little Cranberry on that. I bought this moss yesterday at Joann's for this box-got a huge package for under $3.00! More Spring boxes to come!
I wanted 3 of these eggs in my box, but my cats have struck! I love birdhouses and have them around the house along with some nests. I bought a package of about 20 of these wonderful eggs last year (no idea where!). At one time many of them were in a pottery bowl (looking cute!). There was only one! My cats have had them out playing with them and they are GONE! I have been down on the floor looking everywhere!
Wanting to post I gave up, added more moss and this one robin's egg! I'm hoping Dave picked up the eggs and put them somewhere when we were cleaning for my Book club to meet at my house on Monday.
Thanks for checking out my box! I promise more this week!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

IC167 Duckbill Mountain Bra!

Good Saturday morning and Happy Valentine's Day! I made this card this morning for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. It's a group of 49 bras designed by Quilters. These will be sold to generate money for Breast Cancer Research. My bra is Duckbill Mountains and is on this page http://www.quiltersofsc.org/artfullbras/bras2/artfullbras2.htm
I thought my pair of Penny Black ducks perfect for this! Hope you like it too!
I used some Martha Stewart dp which was given to me by a friend the other day! thank you, Alice! The colors are wonderful! My ducks are colored with copics. For once, I did not struggle with layout, but the embellishments were tricky. There are several pieces of cut ribbon and some other things all over the floor waiting to be picked up!
My DH and I are off to do some shopping and then to dinner! We live an hour from any good shopping centers and with all the winter we've had we have literally not been anywhere since Christmas!
I can't end this post without saying that our thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost loved ones in the terrible plane crash near Buffalo on Thursday evening. Such a tragedy.

Thanks for visiting today. Hope you're spending it with someone you love!

Tilda dreams of Spring!

Good morning! Here's Tilda dreaming of spring! In Western New York we are doing the same! We've had some nice temperatures (around 50) the last couple of days, but today is different! Winds up to 60 miles per hour and rain changing to snow, temperatures dropping about 30 degrees! Well, the next best thing to spring is NEW spring papers! These are from My Mind's Eye's new collection, Grow! They just arrived at my door on Tuesday and I got to use three of them on Rox's sketch this week! The aqua and oranges are wonderful!
I got the card together and didn't know what to do for embellishments (after all, it is 5:00 am here!). I just placed the PTI ribbon on quickly. I may move it and add a sentiment in the big area, but I think it looks okay and I wanted to get a post done mid week for those who come by daily (and see nothing new!).
I used the usual copic markers for hair and skin.
I used BG10 and BG 72 for the wings and tights.
My yellows/ oranges are Y15, Y38 and YR16.

Thanks for visiting Cottage Creations! Gotta get ready for school, no delay for us today, I guess!

Little Alf from the Forest!

I was going to call this "Forest Thief", but he's not the thief, I am! I made this card for today's featured stamper on SCS, Karen Dunbrook. Here's the card I cased. I loved the use of all the pattern papers and her beautiful flowers. I couldn't just leave my CASEing at that so I also used ideas from two friends whose work I admire. Michelle
(Mommy Time)
makes these great blooms of all kinds using different materials. I also cased Sweet Miss Daisy's Anna Wight
She has been making these twill ribbon and button thingies on her cards. See, I AM the thief!

Here's sort of the side view so you can see he is up on dimensionals. The Basic Grey paper is from last year's Archaic 6x6 pad. I used the SU set, Three Trees, to make the area behind him look like a forest.
I got my Alf stamp from Magnolia-licious.
Now I want the sitting Alva, too! I colored little Alf with copic markers. I think his little vest looks like suede! The colors follow.
Greens: Yg91, YG93, YG95, and BG96
Browns: E31, E33, E35, E37, E57 and E77. The rust color is E08.
I used my usual face colors, but added a little extra E02 on his freckles and didn't blend it out so much.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Stylish Tilda has a stickpin!

This card was inspired by the Basic Grey 6x6 pad in Porcelain, but also by Sharon (No Time to Stamp) She made a very pretty card on Feb 2 and linked up some excellent information on making stickpins from jewelry findings at JoAnn's and other stores. Then her link leads to some others who have given online sites.
Well, I'm still not feeling too well so my jewelry pieces came from Wally World (WalMart)! It's the only place besides work that I have been lately! I got the little (3") stickpins, the silver beads and some freshwater pearls. Each package was 2.00. I used my E600 glue to hold the bottom bead on the pin. You could also bend the wire around with small pliers. It's very bendy! The pin did not stick through my ribbon, I just worked it through the loop in to bow. I'm going to do more of these!
Stylish Tilda is from Magnolia-licious. She's from the fall collection, I think, but works great in many colors. I colored her with the same colors as the card just before this one. See that post for copic colors, please.
Well, as I said, this was lots of fun and I hope you enjoyed it, too! Thanks for your wonderful comments and support of my blog!
Have a good evening! Cheryl

February sketch?

Hi girls! Well, this card was intended for the Magnolia-licious sketch challenge, but I goofed up! Let's just say I used a little "Creative License", okay? I LOVE this new Basic Grey paper, Porcelain. I just got the 6x6 pad and I think I was focused on not covering up too much of the wonderful zigzag pattern. Of course, you can see that's where I got my colors for Tilda from. I almost always cut Tilda out and mount her on a background paper so this was a challenge! I couldn't mess up and color outside the lines too much! The edges of this panel are sponged with some SU Blush and Banana and then doodles with a black marker. The punch on the lace edge is an old Fiskars design. I don't use it much because it sticks except on the thinnest of papers. I think they have improved punches so much!

I realize my buttons don't quite match (No, it's not the photo!)! Everything else I had was too matchy, matchy so it didn't stand out. So I went with these peachy buttons from MME.
Copics I used are as follows:
Skin E00, E02 and R20
Greens: YG91, YG93, and YG95
Corals: R11, E93, and RV42
Yellows: YR31 and Y21
Thanks for coming by today! I truly appreciate it!

Pretty in Pink Valentine, FS104

Good morning! What a treat to see the Featured Stamper is BevR! Her work is terrific! I cased the feel and layout of one of her cards, but this is also a very similar layout to a sketch challenge coming soon on Magnolia-licious! What a coincidence!
My card uses Valentine Tilda with envelope and the decorative oval from Alota Rubber stamps. You get 5 ovals and some sentiments in the set! They're really neat for the Tildas to sit in. The dp is Whisper by Prima Marketing and I tried not to cover too much of its beautiful pattern. I used white paper from my Basic Grey Urban Prairie pad for the doily piece. These intricate punches just don't punch card stock well. The solid color back pages on BG 6x6 pads are great for these borders.
I colored Tilda in the following colors:
E00, E02 and R20 for her skin
E31 and E33 for the envelope.
Pinks used on her clothing are R00, R21 , R11, E93 and RV42
When I color (especially her clothing) I always start with the very light shades. You can always make it darker if it's too light.
Thanks for coming to my blog! I really appreciate it!
Have a good day! Cheryl
