It's been a LOOOONG time!

Good morning!! I was on a long and unintended hiatus from my beloved blog and followers!!  I hope this post finds you well!  I have been making cards all along, but without a design team I was a real slacker! But, I'm back!

 Here are a couple of my recent cards.  The top one uses images from SU with a chalk and marker technique of coloring on Kraft cardstock.

And, this is a card using MFT stamps and dies that I made for my sister to give a friend of hers this summer.  I have other pics of the inside and fancy envelope, but I am so rusty at uploading that even these two took me awhile!!

BRR....Bundled up Tilda!

 

Hello!! I finished a card during the week!  I think it's because I was so happy to color this Tilda!  I love, love, love her!  She is from the Christmas Story 2012 collection at Magnolia-licious.  I think she's great for winter cards!!  She is officially called TILDA IN THE MOUNTAINS.

My Tilda is colored with copics.  Her ski pants and mittens are RV14, 17 and 19.  I used BG10 and 72 on her shirt, vest and hat.  Her hair started with Y21 and then Es were added (sorry, I'm not sure which ones!).  I used greys from the W collection (W00, W1, W3 and W5) for her boots, skis, goggles and poles.  I used glossy accents on her goggles and, of course, glitter and stickles on her hat and puffy vest.  The snowflakes are punched with MS punches and then sparkled with some MS coarse glitter.  The dp is some of the 'wood' from My Mind's Eye.  Card base is grey with a layer of Baja Breeze.   Besides Tilda, my favorite part of the card is the wood grained paper-I think it looks like the ski lodge she is headed to to warm up!!

LOOOOVE BLOG HOP!!

 Soooo, I made a box with one of Lauren's templates (My Time Made Easy!  It's an adorable box, but I couldn't decide how to use an image on it so I created a card for my Tilda image-#308 TILDA BLOWING HEARTS!  Diana must have sold her out once, but she is on preorder so is sure to be in the store again soon!  Diana has cash back on every order, great prices and selection and THE BEST customer service around.  There's also Sunday Sensations over at Jacque's blog, the Challenge Team blog AND our January challenge has another week left over at Magnolia-licious Highlites!  Many chances to win!!  Please come on and play today!

 I colored Tilda with my copics- her bigs are BG10 and BG72. Pinks used are R81, 83 and 85.  They are the best for seamless blending!  Her hair is Y21, E31 and E33.  Same on the shoes, but darker E27 added, then blended.  Of course. stickles and glitter were added for some sparkle!

 I added texture to the heart on the box with the same sizzix foler that I used on the card, but then the detail was lost a bit in the sparkle of the stickles dry glitter in diamond.  Oh well, I do love my sparkle!!

 And, inside are some perfectly matching caramel Hershey kisses! The box holds a lot of them!!

FINALLY!! It's love!

 

 

Hello!! I've been trying to post this card since yesterday! Why, oh why, does Blogger have to make things more difficult!! Okay, I'll quit complaining!

I've used #3045 TILDA WITH DOT BOW to make a small valentine.  The spellbinders label is cut on the fold of Kraft cardstock.  Then a layer of poppy red and aqua dp.
The lace edge is from Impression Obsession.  Of course, I added sparkle with stardust stickles.
You may be wondering about the copic color choices!
My plan was to create a Tilda in shades of grey (the great monotone look). I already had the image stamped AND the face colored, so I proceded with the W shades of copics (odd numbers after W00).  I wanted to add a pop of red on the image with my grays so I added some R21, R24 and R29 for the heart, the dots and the cuffs.  When finished, I thought I probably should have just colored her hair in traditional hair colors.
So, I know the card has a bit of a different look to it.  Hopefully, you enjoy seeing different things done with our beloved Maggies!!

HELP!!

LAYERS OF LOVE!! (NEW CHALLENGE FOR JANUARY!!)

Hello!!! I don't know where December went, but WELCOME to January and 2013!!!  A big thank you to you for visiting here today, too!!  The MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS design team has a new challenge for you for today (and for the whole month!!).  Since maybe a break from the holiday crunch is in order you can use your Magnolia-licious stamps to create ANYTHING YOU WANT! We would LOVE to see what you come up with!  For further inspiration, here is the link to the MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS CHALLENGE!  I hope you like my title-6 layers on the card AND a layer cake!

 

  My card features something old and something new!  I've used #3068 TILDA WITH HEART SOCKS from the new LOVE COLLECTION 2013 and #435 SUMMER CAKE from an older collection. BOTH are available at the links above and at GREAT prices!!  AND credit back for the dollars you spend!

 I stamped each of my images on Xpress it Blending Cardstock and colored them with my copics.  So that the images would fit better together I trimmed off the bottom edge of the cake image.  I think it still looks GREAT!  I used colors to match my new Basic Grey Lucille 6x6 pad.  To accommodate my new taller image I made my card 4.25" by 7" tall.  I will have to look for or create it's own envelope but I think it's worth it!   I hadn't used my sewing machine in a while so I added that it.  My little corners are from Spellbinders Persian Motifs.  I cut the smallest medallion from expresso brown and then quartered it.  I glued those pieces behind my layer of expresso.

I used copics in the following colors:
skin E000, E11, R30
hair E50, Y21, E33 and E97
blues BG10, BG11, BG72 and BG49
reds R30, YR09 andR05 (after the reds I toned it down a bit with E42)

We Wish YOU a Merry Christmas! (Blog Candy winner, too!)

Hello!! After too long an absence I am back with a card (On 12/12/12)! I only finished this one because I had the day off for a doctor's appointment!  When I'm working there is just no energy left at the end of the day!  Anyway, I recently colored this little Tilda and didn't have a layout decided upon.  I sort of 'dreamed' this card this morning just before I had to get up! I came out just as I had dreamed!

I don't know what it means when you dream about cards, but I'm glad I have this one to show you!  Here is an angled view so I hope you can see some of the dimension. I recently received this awesome die from Memory Box. It's called French Doors, but I used it as a double casement window. I used tips from Kittie to cut the opening in my card for my window. Since Tilda is standing inside I placed my lace curtain on the front of the card and created a curtain rod with a slim piece of expresso and a circle from a hole punch on each end.  The poinsettias are an older stamp from Magnolia.  You can certainly ask Diana at Magnolia-licious about getting it, if you're interested.  Here's the link to the amazing Magnolia-licious store!  Diana carries dies too, and scor-tape and mini images and has great customer service and a frequent buyer program, too!! My card is 5.5" square.

Can you see the pine boughs outside Tilda's window?  I also cut a very simple flower pot for her potted poinsettia on the floor. 

 Here's the inside that you see when you look through the window. I cut three brances from the Impression Obsession pine branch die. They are arranged, glued and then glued up with some flower soft snow and glitter glass added!  A gingham bow completes the look.  A small holiday sentiment will fit in the lower right corner without being noticeable when the card is closed.

 This is the inside left of the card.  I probably should have covered it as well, but I like how cutting another window nicely covers the hole for the window.  I added another poinsettia to cover the back of the Tilda image.
