JUGS #254-Color Challenge!

Hello!!  This week Just Us Girls has a color challenge for you, brought to you by our own Sue V.  She picked some great colors to work with-green, blue and any neutrals!  You can see loads of inspiration to get you started HERE on our Blog!  Check it out! You won't be sorry!
 An extreme close up!

Now, for my card.  I went to my friend Luanne's house this week and she had some of this apple basket stamped on watercolor paper.  Luanne is the best I know at watercoloring with ink pads, so as she colored hers, I copied her!! She decided on green apples with the blue checkerboard cloth. We each colored four and when I see her this Monday she wants to see what I created with them.  Imagine how excited I was when I checked on the JUGS challenge and saw the colors!  Happy, happy!
I used soft suede behind my little four square quilt, then Lucky Limeade. That piece was run through the SU embossing folder to make a puffy quilt. The plaid paper is Enchanted Evening from Papertrey INk (as is the solid blue). the card base is Kraft.
I made it into a hinge type card. You cut a piece of cs 4.25x11" and score at 5.5".  then open and score the inside at 1.25".  That side piece becomes a fun, little design area of its own and you tape that piece on the insede to the back of the card-Voila! The "hinge". I hope that makes sense!

A close up of my quilt squares.

You have until Thursday, August 21 at 9 pm ET to enter your card/project for this color challenge.  We certainly would love to see what you've done with these colors!
In the mean time, thanks so much for coming by!
Cheryl

Cute card. Your embossing goes really well with the gingham

Everything about this card is perfect. The colors of the apples and the gingham cloth with the BG paper. Sweet! Love the extra panel to decorate and just the touch of ribbon here is enough. It looks like a special quilt for someone special.

This is fabulous! When I first looked at it, I thought it looked like counted cross-stitch. It's really lovely!
