July Magnolia-licious Challenge!!

Hello! Summer keeps getting in the way of crafting! We're still getting a handle on the gardens and purging unnecessary things on the inside of the house! But, ENOUGH of that! It's a brand new, beautiful month and Mindy Baxter of our fab design team has a sketch for us this month!! Details and the SKETCH are on the Mag Highlites Blog! It's a beauty Mindy! Thanks!

I used #3020 TILDA WITH KITE as the centerpiece of my card. She is available now in mini and in regular sizes and remember you get rewards for shopping a great service!

Her close up and I see I need to blend her face make up better! LOL!
Now, below is my first picture tutorial! I think some wanted to see the sunflower that Michelle (mitchygitchygoomy) gets FULL credit for! I copied!

Here we go.....!

These are Papertrey Ink dies. BeautifulBlooms II
When the link opens, scroll down to see the set of dies, please!

You get all three sizes. The flower I made today is the middle size-about 1.5 inches across

You need THREE of your shape. (The small ones are extra here-I wasn't sure what sizie I wanted so I cut both.)

Now you have to break down the layers of cardstock. I put all three in my crimper at once and roll back and forth 30-40 times.
I don't remove them each time-too lazy for that! Squeeze hard to hold them and turn!

Turn them the other way in the crimper and turn some more! Back and forth!

After crimping, use your fingers to break the fibers apart a bit. I hold the flower by the edge and move it back and forth so they come apart a bit. I don't really peel them apart, but you can. Then I just sort of wad the flowers up! They are quite pliable by this time!

Next, sponge them with a darker shade than your cardstock. I used summer sun (too bright!) and then More Mustard (just right!) Layer glue dots between layers and stack 'em up! alternate your petals.

Here it is!

Now curl up the center section, then the second one just a bit.

Add a center and you're done! The dotted paper from my previous posts makes it look most like a sunflower, but for this I wanted some red!

I hope you've found this helpful and not too simplistic!

Thanks for visiting!
