Good morning! Here's my version of the distressed look that is so popular. I wanted to post it today because my dear, dear Mom would have been 81 today, March 23, and this is a card she would have enjoyed very much! How I miss you, Mom.
Mom was always creative and fostered creativity in all 6 of her children. I sucked my mom into this habit when I took her to an SU party and she enjoyed it so much-one of the many things we had in common. Her philosophy was that if she wanted something (at a stamp party) she was going to order it rather than regret not getting it. We enabled each other
at those parties!
I believe in giving credit where credit is due! I used
Suzanne Dean's free tutorial (19-23) on coloring for a distressed look. I found it a great way to know which colors to use for the lighter look. I also used Card Couture white card stock. The color stays very light because it does not absorb into the paper very much. This Tilda is on Preorder at
Magnolia-licous. Diana is ALWAYS getting orders in so it probably won't be long!
Thanks for coming by to look at my cards!
I appreciate it so much!!
Have a great day!
Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, My mom would have been 82 on the 5th. I know how you feel. My mom was an artist, musician, crafter, baker, and tried her hand at anything creative. I love that I have that part of her still with me. I make sure it passes down to my girls also. Beautiful card.
Hugs xx

Ah, yes, I remember that we have another connection! Our moms are 3 days apart! Happy Birthday to them! I know your mom would have been so proud of your accomplishments in this creative venue. I would have liked her, I know, because of her philosophy of buying when you want it instead of regretting it later! (Although it gets me into all sorts of trouble!) Lovely card, Cheryl!
