JUGS #247 Photo Inspiration!

Hi everyone! I know I've been very absent for a couple of weeks and I'm so sorry!  The end of school is very hectic and I am VERY tired! This year was a difficult one and I'm so glad it's over!  Now onto Marisa's great photo challenge!  YOu're gonna love it! Please visit the BLOG to see the gorgeous photo (I want this room!) Now on to my card~~

I started with a white card base 4.25x11", then scored and folded it.  I cut a PTI cover die (zig zag) from Aqua Mist.  I also cut one from sahara sand, and grey.  Then I had some fun just playing with laying the zig zag inserts into the die cut.  For my card I ended up just using a smoky grey one. Otherwise you just see the white card base.  Then I got out some flower and leaf dies.  I ended up using a flower from My Favorite Things (Plentiful Petals) and a leaf die from Poppy stamps (gentle leaf). What did we do before we had all these dies!!??
The flower center is part of the plentiful petals die so I used a black one and covered it with black stickles. There is some sparkle to the black leaves as well. I also cut a set of flowers from dotted dp from PTI in Aqua Mist. My leaves were glued on with Monoaqua and then the flower layers after that.
I have enough zig zag pieces and flower layers to make a whole set of cards!  These colors are great!  Thanks so much to Marisa for the photo inspiration choice!!
Please do join in with us this week in the challenge!  You have until 9:00 pm on thursday, July 3 to enter.  All of our June weekly winners are in the running to be our Guest Designer in August, too! You can find all the detials of the challenge on our JUGS BLOG (linked above and here!)

Just Us Girls-Technique challenge

Hi!  I'm here with my card for the Just Us Girls challenge #244.  Sue has a technique challenge for us today and you'll love it because it's watercolor!  Watercolor is so in right now.  I see it everywhere even though some techniques with watercolor have been around for a long time.  Like the one I used....

I colored this Penny Black flower garden with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  After that I spritzed the colored stamp with a little water.  If you do this, be sure to use a fine mist sprayer. After spraying it's stamped on watercolor paper for the best results.
I then cut my image with My Favorite Things pierced squares .  The image is left inthe die and I used a stencil brush to add in my sky with Pool Party and Baja Breeze.
The card base is white followed by a green panel in Ripe Avocado from Papertrey Ink. Stampin Up's hard wood is stamped in Ripe Avocado.  The Fishtail Flag (MFT) is cut from PTI designer paper.  Everything was adhered together and ..... done?
I think this card could be used for many occasions and would be fairly easy to 'stamp a stack".  Hope you like it too!  Thanks for visiting!
Please join us at Just Us Girls this week, won't you?  You have until Thursday, June 19 at 9 pm to enter your watercolor card or project.  You know we'd love to see what you create!
Please check out the Just Us Girls Blog for tons of inspiration!

Just Us Girls #243- SKETCH

Hi friends!  It's Saturday and that's good for all sorts of reasons!  But, one of the best reasons is that the JUGS team has a new challenge for you!  It's a sketch designed by Nancy and it's a good one!
My card base is PTI white card stock.  The rectangle layer is coastal cabana from SU.  I used Papertrey Ink's Sweet Summer (popsicle set) for my images and sentiment.  First I cut 4 squares from Spellbinders' square nestabilities.  I taped them to a piece of Sahara Sand (SU!).  This was all taped to the card base after tying a piece of hibiscus burst ribbon around the pool party piece.  Then I cut 4 more white squares from white.  I lightly taped them to a piece of scrap paper and got ready to stamp.  I stamped the first popsicle in hibiscus burst (PTI), cleaned the stamp and stamped it again in Pool Party (SU). I stamped the popsicle sticks in Summer Sun (SU) to finish off my cool treat.  I used foam tape from Ellen Hutson to raise the squares when I mounted them on top of the previous squares. This was my way of keeping everything all straight and lined up.  then I added glue to the popsicles and covered them with irridescent glitter.  After this driend I added some enamel dots to finish off the whole card. My sentiment is stamped in Versafine onyx black.
I hope you'll head right on over to the Just Us Girls blog for loads of inspiration from our team and our new guest designer!  And then to your own craft room/studio to see what you can come up with to show us!  Please join in our challenge this week!
Thanks for coming by today!  Enjoy your weekend!
