Pumpkin Treats

Hello! Well, Blogger is acting weird again-wouldn't let me type above my picture! So, I'll just type here!~
I've done some fall cards, but now want to work in earnest on Halloween cards! I just love making them, because I love color!
Here's my beautiful (and favorite) new background stamp. It's Impressions Obsession's Cover a Card gingham. I want to stamp it tone on tone in every color!! But, this time I used Cayenne on Pumpkin Pie again. The yellow piece was laying around from another project so I grabbed that for more color. Then I cut my Marianne die from black-makes it look like iron! Was going to use ribbon, but then pulled out my Halloween punches and pulled out the spider web ~ That's it!
The focal image is from High Hopes. Mine came from Stamp and Create. Blogger won't let me link right now, but I'll put the link in later! Sorry!
I used Yrs for my pumpkin-YR20, 21, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18. then I used some E35 on the left (shadow) side. The hat is Cs-the odds. I used Y18 on the star and moon then some YR14.
Guess that's it! It's a busy day-Dave's brother is coming for lunch then a friend's son's Eagle Scout ceremony! Not much more crafting time today, but I'm trying!
Have a great day yourself!!

Grateful!

I have a lot to be grateful for, but tonight I am not grateful for Blogger! this is the second time I've typed this post! Blogger wouldn't save, and, of course my great words all disappeared! Grrr!!!! I am on my way out the door this evening, too! Back to school for Open House! Long day for teachers!

Okay, on to the cardd! I loooove this IBFS image called Pumpkin and vine border. There is a challenge on the I Brake for Challenges blog starting today! You have two weeks to enter your card in the FALL theme with us! You don't have to use an IBFS image, but if you have any we'd love to see your creations with them!

This would be a great image and card for teaching a card class, me thinks!

I also used my Impression Obsession Gingham cover a card bg stamp in Cayenne on Pumpkin Pie and on Kraft with Expresso.

The pumpkin and vine are colored with copics, which I think you already knew!
I used YR20 and 21, YR12, 15, 18 and a little Y18 for more yellow.
I used YG93, 95,97 and a bit of YG99 for the leaves.
Well, I must be off, but before I go I want to say thank you so much for coming by today! I love when you visit and comments are just icing on the cake, 'cuz I know how busy everyone is!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

MINI MAGNOLIA BINDER BLOG HOP!

Hello dear friends! I am the starting designer for our monthly blog hop! If you get lost along the way, please see the post on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog for the complete order! Our mission was to design the cover of our Mini Binder from Magnolia-licious! A daunting task (for me!) indeed! Can you see the theme I settled on? If you said "A girl for all seasons" you are correct! The difficult part was to choose an image representing each of the seasons! There are so many great stamps in the Mini collection from Diana's wonderful store-the BEST source for these babies AND for the binder!

I decided to cover my whole binder (like we used to cover our books in highschool! Remember?) I used a roll of brown paper to do that. It is perfect because I love working with the 'kraft' color so much! Then I chose my images and colors. I was sort of going for a family photo album look for my cover, so wanted the imagmes to loook framed.

So sorry about the pictures! It was a bright sunny day, but photographing a larger piece was a challenge for me! I finally took it outside and tried there, but then I got shadows. I hope you can see well enough in my close ups.

I used#363 TILDA AND HER BUNNY, #365 SWIMMNING TILDA, # 3071 SNOWY HUG, AND #298 SCARECROW TILDA for my images.

If you would like to see any of these in the store just put in the item and/or the stamp number and it will pop up-in its regular and mini size. Now here is the cool inside! Each page has a slot for a card and your mini image. You stamp the image on the card and fill in the number, name and collection and you can always see what you have! There are 5 insert pages that altogether will hold at least 90 stamps neatly and safely!

Cool beans! And please be aware, it's not the binder that's mini-it's a good size of almost 12" square!

Thanks for dropping in to look! Now off you go to PJS Designs to see what the talented Patti Jo has done with her binder!

And, when you're finished with the hop, we hope you'll look around your craft area and alter something (using Magnoias) to show us! You can WIN one of these binders and 2 mini stamps of your own! GREAT PRIZE!!

Have a Marvelous Monday!!

Golf Tilda -Part two

Hollah and welcome to Friday! Yippee! I finished the easel card up last night, as promised and here it is! I even did some stitching on the base part! My sentiment was off center so I made the error into opportunity to balance it with embellishments!

for the greens on Tilda I used:yg21, yg 23 yg25 yg 67 and then dulled it down with some E42

Her pants are E42 and 43. then I deepened it with E37 Love these browns!

Her skin is my usual E000, E11, R30

Her hair is a mixture cuz I keep getting stuck on hair these days! Don't know why, but I think I need more practice!

there is Y21, E33, 35 and e37
Okay, off to work! Have a great one!

GOLF TILDA

Good morning! I have to make this a quick post as I have tons to do at school and need to get there earlier every day it seems!
BUT.... was determined to finish the Just Magnolia sketch this week BEFORE the deadline! It's a great sketch! I also need a birthday card for a friend tomorrow! This is the card front, actually because I'm going to make it into an easel card tonight. Then that can be tomorrow's post along with the copics I used to color our gal, Tilda! Hope you'll come back and see me then!
In the meantime, this is #397 Golf Tilda from Magnolia-licious, just the b est store for Maggies and lots of other things-including scor-tape and scor-pal-tools I use on every card!
\Thanks for swinging by today and for all the sweet and supportive comments you leave!
Have a great day yourself!

Autumn Pumpkins!

Hello and welcome to hump day! Hope you're having a good week! Thanks for coming by to spend a minute or two!
Mabelle (Whimsy and Stars Studio) asked us to design a card with one of her fall images for a Designer Showcase.
Here's her blog where you can read about it! Whimsy and Stars Blog .
I post pretty early so if it's not there yet ( post date of Sept. 14) I hope you will check back.

I colored Blessed Harves from the shop with my copics. I used YR12, 14, 15 and 18 for my pumpkins-leaving out the yellow this time for a different look.
The greens are YG93, 95 and 97.
Browns are E42, 33, 37, 99,
Around the images I used W00, 2 and 5
I think this will be a Thanksgiving card that I send out!
With appreciation to YOU!

Boy and Treehouse

Hello! It's Sunday night as I write this, and the weekend is over! I hate Mondays and as we start a new year everything is challenging-the schedule, the routine (lack of), some of the children. I don't care what anybody says, teachin' ain't easy! Sorry, you didn't come for that! I bought this stamp from Rubber Cottage. They come to the nearby Stamp and Scrap Art tour in August. As soon as I saw this I thought of my brothers-all three of them! They were always building the greatest treehouses in the trees around our farm! My oldest brother, Buz has a birthday this week so I wanted to get the stamp inked up for his card.
As you can see, I kept the rest pretty simple.
I used E31, 33, 37 and 29 for the tree. I wanted the treehouse to be different browns so after starting it in E31 I used YR24 and blended again with E31.
The ladder is just E31. The blues are B21, B95 and B37. The reds are R08, 29 and 46. His skin is E000 and E11.
That's about it-this colored up quite quickly and most of the shading was done right in the stamp! I love that!
Well, I appreciate so much that you took the time to come by! Thanks and I hope you have a great start to your week!

Get Well Soon!

Hello and happy, happy Friday! It's been a quick and crazy busy week with the start of school! I am one TIRED teacher! Oh, my how will I get through a five day week? Once the routine is set it will get better! I'm determined that it will! Right now I should be doing the school work I brought home, but I'd rather jot a note to you!
Now, on to another job! Nursing! My sister is a nurse and I think I will be changing the sentiment and sending her this as an "I'm proud of you" card! She will love it, I think! This is #307 Nurse Tilda.
She is so darn cute with her sparkly medicine! She is available in both sizes at Diana's wonderful store Magnolia-licious AND Dr. Edwin can be preordered! I colored her with copics and put her on this great Grand Nestability. I'm not so good at the bouquets, but I gave it my all on this one. Maybe the leaves and ferns are not the best green for the card? Oh well! The small sentiment is one I bought at a recent stamp show near Buffalo. Very handy for card fronts. I was too nervous to sew all these curves so I went with marker stitching instead. The beautiful paper is from My Mind's Eye's Lost and found collection (Blush-sweet bouquet and Breeze Dream) These are both from 12x12 sheets, but there is also a 6x6 pad! Gotta love that!

I also plan to enter this card in to the following challenges:

and

Cute Card Thursday -something you find in an office (mine is a Doctor's office!)

Wishing you a lovely weekend! (Especially on the eastern part of our state of NY!)

IBFS tag

Hello! It's Wednesday and time for another I Brake for Stamps challenge. The challenge for the next two weeks is to make a project with a background stamp. You can read the details over on the I Brake for Challenges Blog. I'm not sure my tag counts as using a background stamp, but it's what I was inspired to make! (It's early here in NY-the challenge will be up in a bit) this is the IBFS Snowflake collage. There are many new stamps in the store and Della also sells Wild Orchid flowers! Use my code SAVE10CHERYL for 10% off your order!
I stamped the image in Memento tuxedo blac and colored the blue sections with BG10 and then darkened some areas with BG72 and a touch of BG75. Then I used E42 and a blender to darken the tan areas that I wanted. I used BG78 around the edge of the tag and some E37 around the stamped image.
Of course I wanted soime sparkle so I added distress stickles (sugar candy) with my finger and dried it with my heat gun. Then I added stardust stickles to other areas for a different sparkle.
A ribbon in the top and my tag was done!
(The "for You" sentiment is a stamp from an old SU set) You could also handwrite the recipients name in the box.
I love that you visited today! Please consider joining our background stamp challenge. You don't have to use an IBFS image, but if you do that'd be great!
Enjoy your day!
Hope mine is better than yesterday!

Whimsy and Stars Release day!

Hello and welcome! Today is release day for new digital images from Whimsy and Stars Studio. Here is the one I chose to use to show you today! This is Alex with pumpkin. I colored him with copics. My favorite part is how his 'jeans' came out. They have that worn in the knees look that little boys' jeans get! I used B21 and B95 for the jeans with the colorless blender. His shirt is YG21, YG93, 95 and a little 97. I can't remember the oranges for the pumpkins-I just kept grabbing them and then they got mixed up!
If you would like to see what's new please head over to the Whimsy and Stars Studio Etsy store.
Mabelle (owner and artist) also has a blog post showing work from her other designers, so I hope you will get a chance to visit THERE! And, if you search her out on Facebook, on occasion she gives FREE digi images!
In the meantime, thanks for coming here!
See you soon!
Back to school today for me! Have a great day!

Apples for Sale!

Hello friends! I've had to accept that it is fall and am enjoying working with my fav fall colors.! I bought this Impression Obsession stamp (Apples) about a year ago and hadn't inked it up. It was so fun to color once I got going! The artist does the important shading so it's not as difficult as it might look. I just love how he hides the cat in the image, too! I used a soft suede card base, then a layer of pumpkin pie and then a textured layer of not quite navy. the image has a white border and is mounted on black. (don't mind that I spelled my own name wrong on the watermark! I'm an awful typist!)

That great plaid ribbon is from Joann's, but I couldn't find it in my Joann's stores. My friend, the talented and generous Mary Giemza sent me some about a year ago. I've been hoarding it fer sure! Thanks, Mary!

My desk was covered with markers on this one! I hope you like it!

For the layout I CASed a card on Splitcoast Stampers. I loooove the Featured Stamper challenge every Sunday!

I'm alos entering in the current Impression Obsession challenge which is to make a birthday card. They are also promoting Operation Write Home this month! A very good cause!

Thanks for coming by today! If you're enjoying a day off today (and even if you're not) have a GREAT day!

Happy Birthday with High Hopes!

Hi and happy Saturday! Hope you are having a splendid weekend!
I am working on using some of my unused stamps these days. I buy so many that I love and then they sit unused-virgin rubbbah! Also trying to play in some challenges so I used the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is a GREAT sketch! It'll work for rectangle or square cards. Since mine is for a boy I kept it pretty close to the sketch. I'm also posting it for the High Hopes challenge which is to use fall colors. I think orange, purple and green count as fall colors.
I used copics to color my image and after that this simple card came together pretty quickly. Still have to do the inside though.
I used YG markers for the frog, RV for his shirt and the warm greys for his pants. If you would like to know more specifically, just let me know and I'll post them.
Thanks so much for coming by today!
Enjoy your day!

A Halloween Hi!

Hi there!

I'm so happy to say that Mabelle, owner of Whimsy and Stars Studio has asked me to be a part of her Fall/winter design team! Thank you, Mabelle! She showcased cards from her upcoming (SEPT. 6) release of new digi images on the blog yesterday. The other designers are top notch artists and the cards are stunning!

I hope you'll head over there to see them!

Here's my card using Pumpkin Kitty (available on Sept. 6). Cute, huh? And so fun to color with my copics. I decided to showcase him in an oval and picked a shape card made from my Nestabilities labels to do that. I used Linda Duke's technique for dry embossing using Impressabilities while the shape is in the die (so you get the border). It is linked HERE, if you are interested.

There's a lot to come from Whimsy and Stars on Tuesday, Sept. 6! Stay tuned!

See you soon!

IT'S SEPTEMBER'S CHALLENGE!!!

Can you hear me screaming?! It's in disbelief that it is September! But, wait, good things do happen with Magnolia-licious at the beginning of every month! The lovely and talented Sharon Caudle has brought us an easy challenge with many interpretations! Make something (with your Magnolias, of course) using a fall theme and fall colors! The Mag Highlites has the complete info on the challenge! The challenge is open to interpretations (did I already say that?) I don't normally buy into writing stories with my Magnolia cards, but I can justify what doesn't seem to be a 'fall' card at all! School is on my mind and I am a primary teacher, sooo, primary colors in the paper. My 'cover' Tilda can be the mother who must send her kids off to school.

She may be sad on the outside, but open the card ....
And she's rockin' with happiness (if she's lucky enough to be a stay at home mom!)

The jar I've added to the card is to hold M & Ms for medicinal purposes!

I found the card (Origami diamond fold) on my friend, Julia Aston's blog this week! She made a cute one with a Sweet N Sassy bear. She was kind enough to link the card's creator, Wendybell, who calls it a Funky Fold card. I've linked both girls' blogs for your entertainment. the card is so cute-takes one sheet of 11" square paper and the pointed top tucks into a pocket behind the focal image! When I mad my first one the diamond did not sit in the middle. That bugged me a bit so I changed the measurement 1/4" so that it would. Not sure if I wrote them down correctly when I watched Wendy's video, but let me know if you want the measurements I used. Hope this makes sense!

Finally, a view of both. I'm loving my new camera (which replaced the one I lost), but these were somewhat difficult to photograph. I take the blame for any problems!

Oh, the stamps are #270 ROCKING TILDA, #532 ROMANTIC WINDOW, #219 LEANING TILDA and #356 WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE. They are all from the BEST store for Magnolias on the planet-Magnolia-licious! Owned and managed by Diana and her family who all care about the customer. I'll link to the HOMEPAGE and you search stamps by name or number if you're interested!

Thanks so much for coming by!! You can see inspiration from the rest of the design team on the Mag Highlites blog! Check it out!

I'd also like to participate in the following challenges:

Have a wonderful day! Cheryl
