Let it Snow!

Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends who visit me in cyberspace!!  Today's card is snowy, but one of the things I'm thankful for is that we DON'T have snow for Thanksgiving!  I can remember some wintry Thanksgivings when we had to drive 40 minutes to my Aunt's house for our turkey dinner!!

But, this little guy is pretty happy to have snow!  He is called SNOWBALL BOY and is from Whimsy and Stars Studio!  I {{heart}} him VERY much!!  You can buy him HERE if you like him too!  He's a digital image by Mabelle R. O.  She is so sweet and talented!  Take a look around when you visit her etsy store!
I colored him in BG10, BG72 and BG18.  Hair and boots are various Es, not written down.  Face and hands are E000, R30 and E11.
The snowflake is a new(to me) EK success punch from JoAnn's. If I see a new snowflake punch I can't seem to resisit it!  I sewed around my card, but wish now that I had also sewn across the felt snow.  I added MS crystal glitter wherever I could!  Also put Stardust stickles on his clothes!  Though I've never seen a little boys' snow suit with sparkles, I couldn't resist!
I just have to make one small thing for today because my sister-in-law is a great cook and we are traveling a whole mile to their house today!
If you're traveling, please be careful and safe!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING and if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving today, Have a great day!!

Wrapped and Unwrapped Magnolia-licious Blog Hop!

Good morning!  It's time for the Magnolia-licious monthly Blog Hop and I'm so glad you're here!!  This time we are trying to wow you with holiday projects that are not cards AND that include Tilda Wrapped and Tilda Unwrapped!!  If you've come here from the wowzer Suzanne Dean's Blog then you are in the right place. If not, you may want to start there so you don't miss a project!

You have to use both images in your projects, but check out the STORE LINK!  Diana has them bundled for 8.99!! A real deal!  AND you could win a Kindle e reader (I heart mine and am getting a new Fire for Christmas!!)  2nd prize is 5 Magnolia mini stamps and third prize is  3 magnolia mini stamps!  With so many to choose from this is a fabulous prize!!

And did you notice a snowflake anywhere?? If so, keep your count handy as we all have some!!  It's a Snowflake count contest too!! Send your total to sjdean@smartneighborhood.net to be entered for a prize of 3 Magnolia stamps!!  Details for this contest are also on the Mag Highlites blog linked above!
This is the opposite side of my little box!  I have it filled with cream colored paper strips and ready for a gift!  I thought I had a cellophane bag I could put it all in but, nope, can't find even one! I've also used the Christmas tree from a year or two ago, but in stock in Diana's wonderful store!
This adorable little box is made from Spellbinder's Grand Labels (4, I think!).  The directions and a beautiful Blue and White sample were in the most recent Cardmaker Magazine (November2011) Page 60-61.  Super fun and easy!  I wanted to make more!  I may have to because I've bought some sets of cultured pearl stretchy bracelets for Christmas gifts and they will work perfectly in these little boxes!
I have some close up pics, but didn't want to bog down the  post with too many!  Please click to get a larger picture!
Now, off you go to the amazningly creative Sharon Caudle to see what sort of project she's made with these stamps!  thanks for stopping here and please, enjoy the rest of the hop!  Consider joining in on the challenge with us!  We'd love, love to see what you make!!

A Letter for Me

Hi!  I have a new card today (finally!).  This time I used a new image from Whimsy designed by Sylvia Zet and available at I Brake for Stamps! This one is called A Letter for Me.  I think it would be cute to leave a note for Santa in this card!

I used Bordering blue for my card base, then Night of Navy and then some dp from Magnolia.
I have some Spellbinders snowflake medallion dies that I don't think I've ever used so the large snowflake behind was a must!  I colored the image with my copics, of course.  Blues were B91, 95 ank 97, I think.

We'd love to have you join us in our current challenge at I Brake for Stamps-Four Seasons.  You don't need to use IBFS images, but if you have them we'd love to see them!  You have 10 days to play along and won't you let a friend in on the challenge!?  Rules are all on the blog link above!
Lots to do as I am finally changing my clothes in closets and drawers over to winter things!  A big job!  Hope to get some decorations on the front porch as the weather is not too bad.
Hope YOU are having a great day!

MINI TILDA WINE TAG AND BLOG CANDY WINNER!

Hello friends!!  Well, another weekend almost gone!! So sad!! Oh well, I guess I'd better get my school work done that I brought home....as soon as I finish my post!
I made a tag today!  When I want to make something with one of my Magnolia images that is quick I pull out the minis!  they color up so quickly and they are ca...ute!!
I've used #3048 MINI SITTING TILDA WITH TEDDY BEAR, and #448 MINI SANTA Bench, Please check out the best store on the planet for all things Magnolia!!  Diana is now carrying Marianne and other dies!  She also has some great little stamp bundles which will save you $$$!
My tag started out as a manilla packing tag-so fun to work with!  I stamped the white snowflakes in Adirondack Snow Cap, let it dry, and then used the Tim Holtz ink applicator to color my tag with DI Tumbled Glass and then some vintage photo and Walnut Stain!  This is the 'ghosting' technique and is the current challenge at Just Us Girls (JUGS) challenge blog! fun to do!  And brought to you by my friend, Lisa Kind!  Thanks, Lisa!
I used my new Spellbinder's die called Oval Window, cut from black.  the other ovals nest inside the scroll edges. I left it in the die after embossing and used the white ink on the embossed spots.  then I added Martha's Crystal Coarse glitter on those designs.  Of course, I also added some stickles to my image!

Some ribbon and an oval tag (with SU! oval punches, as is the sentiment) and my wine bottle tag was finished.
Copics are: e000, E30, R11
R81, R83 , R21 AND R22
GREENS G40.82, 03 AND 28
E31, 33, 55, 25 AND 29 (also used on teddy ear with some 42 and 55.
Thanks for visiting today!! I am also posting this for today Featured stamper on Splitcoast -ITSAPASSION (Anne) and for the JUGS challenge I mentioned above.

Oh, and the winner of a 6x6 Simple Stories pad and a stamp or two is comment 31-chosen by Random.org.-MICHELLE of Long Sault, Ontario, Canada.
Michelle, will you email please, with your address.  drowley6@stny.rr.com
Thanks so much!! Cheryl

We wish you a Merry Christmas

Hello!  I have another Christmas card I want to show you today!  I'm so happy with how this turned out!  How will I ever send it?!  At least I get to look at it for a few weeks first!  The image is #3101 TILDA WITH SNOW HEART from Magnolia-licous!  It's a great store for all things Magnolia, great customer service and a frequent buyer program!!  I's sorry she's not in stock right now, but the mini image is!

I used a card base of PTI's burgundy, then a layer of River Rock (SU!), then a layer of True Thyme (SU! retired-love that color!) and some gorgeous Simple Stories Papers called Generations,  see below for blog candy!!.  I don't think the papers are intended as Christmas, but that's what I saw in the muted darker colors with a pink rose in some of them.
And all that seam binding?  It's actually a bow and 'pull' for the tag that goes behind the image. I've seen this on a number of blogs and love the idea.  Haven't done one for awhile. TIP: If you raise the side of your image on dimensionals the tag slides behind more easily! Just be careful not to glue/tape where you want the tag to go!
My image is colored with copics alone!  The face is E000, R30 and E11.  The 'yellows' are Y21, YR12, YR21 and YR24.  I added some E99 to her boots to make them a touch darker.  The 'reds' are R22. R05. R37 and R89.  Of course, there are stickles added to the snow and to her sweet outfit!!
I used flowers from my stash which definitely needs to be replenished soon!  And the Martha Stewart fern punch because it looks a bit like pine boughs!
BLOG CANDY ALERT!!
I hope you like my entry today!  I bought some extra packs of Simple Stories Generations( 6X 6 pad) and would love to give one away and maybe a stamp or two!  Please leave me a comment to be entered and I will choose a winner with Random.org on Friday, November 11 in celebration of Veteran's Day as we appreciate all those who have served this great country!! Will ship anywhere!!  If you'd card to become a follower (and you aren't already) I'd love that too, but it's not required!  Just remember to check back in on Saturday to see if you've won, please!

I'm entering my card in the Just Magnolia challenge-Anything goes with the option of pearls and lace! (I got the lace in!)
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!! Make it a great day!
Hugs, Cheryl

Gingerbread Boy-

This new blogger is driving me crazy, but happy Sasturday anyway!!  I'll not dwell on what I dislike about trying to post!!
Another holiday card, FINISHED!  This one features an image just made for the baker in your family (or mine!) .  This Gingerbread Boy is from Whimsy and Stars!  You can get the digi image for 3.00, delivered immediately!

I colored it with my copics, but forgot to keep the colors separate!  I used some older Basic Grey (Fruitcake) papers on my card.  And, I used a sketch from the Splitcoast Featured Stamper. The little guys poor head got a little crinkled when I glued it down after raising his body on dimensionals, but otherwise I'm happy with the card!
Two close ups?  Yep, and did I mention that I have
issues with the new Blogger method!!?!

Have a wonderful Saturday!  We are expected sunshine and 50-60 degrees for two days!  Yippee, not winter yet!  We are also expecting another Buffalo Bills win! Go Bills!!
Hugs, Cheryl

NOVEMBER CHALLENGE-Angie's Inspiration!

Hello and Happy Thursday! Only one more day until Friday!!  Though I can't believe it's already November, I say, "bring it on!"  We, the DT at Magnolia-licious have the November challenge ready for you!! It's a couple of inspiration photos for you to choose from by the most talented, Angie!  You can see them both on the Magnolia-lcious Highlites Blog!  You have all month to play, so come on and join in!!

My image is one of the adorable new ones from the Sweet Christmas Dreams collection! I gotta have them All!!  This one is #3093 WINTER TILDA ! I'm so sorry that she's not in stock, but she is on reorder!  I also used the older images Winter trees (sorry, I don't have the number!)  and #571 Winter fence.  AND, I masked the fence and trees and then cut them out as one piece.
The snowy background that Tilda is standing in front of is ALSO FROM MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS!!  iT IS GORGEOUS!!   You get green, red, blue and white in this pattern!
I don't know about you, but I love the change of seasons!  Onc of the most beautiful sights is when it snows and the snow is so white that it looks blue!  That's what Angie's picture reminded me of.  We haven't had that this year, but it may be in the near future, methinks!
I used tips on colors from my friends, Barb Hardeman and Suzanne Dean. these tips came from their blogs when they colored blue images and listed the copics they used!  Thanks, girls!! You're the best!  Both blogs are on my sidebar.  I'm kinda tired, but I will edit to add the colors from these artists that I used! Promise-I'm much more alert in the morning!
I added lots of stickles for that special sparkle that snow has in the sun and, of course, Tilda needed some too!
Okay, bedtime soon, for me, so thanks for visiting today!! Swing by again soon!
Hugs, Cheryl

Rudolph White Out!

Hi!!  We have another I Brake for Challenges challenge for you today!  The theme for this two weeks is White out!  that means no white card stock.  BTW, mine is cream and I hope it's allowed!!

I love this cute RUDOLPH image from I Brake for Stamps!  They have such a variety and Della releases new images all the time!!  AND, you can use my code SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% off your order.  Prices and shipping are reasonable too!! For examplet, this Rudolph in deeply etched red rubber is only 4.25!!  Check out the NEW SECTION for what's new in the store.  They also carry Wild Orchid Flowers!
For my card, I stamped the image on Kraft paper from PTI and colored with Prismas and gamsol.  I've seen cards done like this and love them!  It was much easier than I thought!!  I can't wait to do a snowman now!  Of course, I added stickles for sparkle to this fairly simple card.  the lacy die is from Marianne D (Bunny Zoe crafts, I think!) and there is a red Nestability behind for more color.  The plaid is once again, my Impression Obsession gingham Cover-a-Card background.  It's stamped in New Leaf on New leaf Cardstock (both from PTI)  I added some faux stitching with a black pen.
for dimension, I used my trick of 'curling' the image a bit and then putting dimensional pieces down the center.  I add quick dry adhesive (Scotch) to the edges so they are stuck down.  this is difficult to do unless you've curled the image first.
And, that's it!
Please check out the other samples fromt he Design Team at the I Brake for Challenge Blog!! It'll be posted soon!  You don't have to use an IBFS image, but if you have some we'd love to see them!!  Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your time!!
Have a great day!! Cheryl
