Merry Christmas!

Good morning! Well, it's back to work day, but it's the holiday season so it's all good! I got some things done yesterday as I was feeling better. Thanks again for the kind wishes! This is one Christmas card I was able to finish. I used Bundled Up Snowman from I Brake for Stamps. Please use code SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% off your whole order at IBFS! He colored up quite quickly after I'd chosen papers from my Basic Grey Jovial pad to work with. The sketch is from a sketch challenge, but I'm sorry that I can't give credit. I save them in a word document and I make them quite small. Now I can't read whose sketch this is!
Sorry!
I used copics to color my image. The colors are as follows:
BG10, BG72, BG75
Y21, YR24
R05, R08, R24 and R11 for cheeks
E42 for all tans

I DO need to pick a winner for the Star Tilda Mini from the comments in THIS POST.
Random.org picked comment number 17 of 36 comments. That's Nady! Since Nady's comment is in French, I think she is in France or Montreal, maybe! Please email me at drowley6@stny.rr.com and I will send your Star Tilda mini right out! Thanks for all the great comments!
Check Diana's Store for the Mini Collection. They will be here soon!
AND until Tuesday you can leave a link with our friend Jacque to win a 25.00 gift certificate for two stamps in stock at Magnolia-licious!! It's the Sunday Sensations drawing! Don't miss your chance! There is no requirement other than a link or comment!

That's it for today! Must get ready for work! Thanks for visiting!!

JUGS challenge #61

Hi! It has been such an honor and pleasure to design with the JUGS team this month as their Guest Designer! They are a bunch of talented ladies!! My final challenge with them is to use a 3D embellishment on your project! Easy, right? Hope you will create something and add it to the JUGS challenge BLOG!
I need just a small box for a bracelet gift soon and I think this will work perfectly! I used a template that Lauren Meader created for Papertrey Ink. This one is the Around Town Tote.

My little box features another of the Mini Tildas! They color up so quickly and work perfectly on small projects!
JUGS will be back with another challenge next Saturday and I'll be there. How about you?
I'm up at 5:00 am to get this posted because this cold has really taken ahold of me! My head feels like it weighs 50 pounds and I ache all over! So please excuse the late post.
thank you to those who left me messages with well wishes yesterday! I'm sure I'll feel better by the time I have to go back to work on Monday!
I appreciate that you took the time to visit today! Thank you!

3D Poinsettia

Hello! Have you been out shopping today? Not me! I am at home where it's warm and quiet! However, I have caught a cold so my energy is at a low level! Awww! I have had this I Brake for Stamps image colored for awhile, and just had to get it made into a card. I have the whole poinsettia page linked. My image is B712. I stamped it a second time and cut out some of the petals to raise up with silicone gel. I love how it looks and I found so many papers I could use it with. Decisions, decisions! I settled on some Basic Grey (Olivia) and My Mind's Eye. Blushing Bride and Basic Grey are my card stock colors. Of course, I added sparkle to the flowers with my favorite Stickles, Stardust.
My card is 5" square. I used R81, R83, R85 and R87 for my pinks. I'm not sure about the greens, but I'm sure I used G40 and others in the G family.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, by US friends!
And to everyone, a great day today!
Cheryl
You can use my code at I Brake for Stamps-SAVE10CHERYL for 10% off your whole order!

Angel mini

Greetings! Today is the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group Christmas All Year Long blog hop! You can read all about it at the blog HERE!
If you've come here from Carole's Blog, you're right on track and if not, you can start at the blog or just travel from here.

For my card I used one of the new Minis that will soon be available at Magnolia-licious! I have a couple and cannot wait to get my hands on more! I hope I'm not cheating too much on the card theme as this is a GIFT CARD. I'll need quite a few of those! I used a Spellbinder's die to cut a folded piece of cream card stock. If you leave the die a bit above the fold you get a folded shape card. From there I layered the next size die in blue, then a soft blue snowflake and then the oval with my image. I think you can see I added sparkle and spica wherever I could!
Once I added the ribbon I realized it could also be hung in a tree-hmmmmm...maybe a project for next year-to make lots of these!
Oh, yeah, I do have TWO of the Tilda Mini Angel with the wand! I think I'd like to send it to someone, so please leave a comment if you'd like and I'll pick a winner from the comments on Sunday, November 28! Please only comment if you plan on coming back to see if you've won. I'll ship anywhere!

Thanks so much for coming by! Now off you go to Glenda's Blog. I'm sure there is something yummy to look at there!
Happy Turkey day to all Americans!

Acorn Collage

Good morning fellow stampers! Are you getting your turkey ready today? Not me-my sister's doing that part! So I have time to stamps and decorate today! Here is a final (maybe!) Autumn/Thanksgiving card for this year! I used the ACORN COLLAGE STAMP from I Brake for Stamps. Love it because I didn't have to layer the images. It was done for me! I just stamped it in Memento Black and then colored the leaves and acorns with my copics. You can use my code SAVE10CHERYL for 10% off your order. Check out the other collage images. I think I need MORE!
Even though the was stamped on Vintage Cream, the script background was a little bright so I used E43 and E43 to add age to it. I layered the main image on Kiwi. I layered that panel on dimensional pieces so that the twine could go under it without creating a bump. Then there's a layer of rust. The card base is Peach Parfait which has been sponged in pumpkin and then some vintage photo.

Thanks for stopping by today! Tomorrow is 25th which means another Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group Christmas All Year Long blog hop!
Hope you can take time from your kitchen duties to hop around with us!
Until next time, Cheryl

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello stampin' friends! Welcome! I have a card to celebrate Thanksgiving week today! I love this cute little Tilda from the Bon Voyage collection! She is #350 NATIVE AMERICAN TILDA from Magnolia-licious! It was so fun to use colors from the Basic Grey paper to make her outfit! Of course, she had to have a turquoise stone necklace!
Copics used are as follows:
Skin-E000, E00, R3o and E11
Hair- E33, E35, E25, E37 and E79
Shoes E42, 43, 55
Dress YR12, YR65, YR24
Orange YR17, YR15, YR16, YR18
Pink RV14, RV19, RV09 and B45 for her necklace
The weekend flew by. Dave and I did shop the day away in Erie, PA after a great breakfast at the Cracker Barrel on Saturday.
Now it's only a 2 day work week and I can spend some time getting Christmas decorations out and getting some projects done for Christmas.
Wish you a fabulous Monday!

JUGS color challenge! #60

Hello and happy Saturday! As I type this it's Friday early evening and I am sooooo happy the weekend is here! I had a terrible headache for a day and a half earlier this week so I was forced to go back in the archives (otherwise known as the boxes of cards I haven't sent to anyone!) and I found this one! I think it fits the JUGS color challenge of Black, Red, White and Gold (dark yellow). I made this card when I designed for Anna Wight with Whipper Snapper and the stamped images are from Posies for YOu.
It's a great set! I stamped my flowers directly on the gold dp from Cosmo Cricket (Wonderland) and did the same with the bucket. Then I colored with a brush/water and an ink pad. No copics at the time!
This card has never been on my blog~No blog either!~ so I hope you'll forgive me!
Please check out the JUGS BLOG to see the regular designers gorgeous creations! We all hope you'll consider making a project with these colors and linking it up so we can see it! You could be chosen Chic of the Week! On SCS upload with key words JUGS60.

My winner for the blog candy is comment number 51! After cutting out all the SPAM I seem to get lately the winner is Teri of Medina, Ohio! Teri, I used to live in Findlay-for college and 11 years after college! I {{heart}} Ohio! Please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com when you get a chance-add your address in the email, please! Thank you for the kind words!

Have a wonderful Saturday! DH and I may be off to do some shopping! Black Friday is not for us!

Thankful

Hi! I wanted to get another post in this week so I'll show you a Thanksgiving card I made awhile back but haven't posted. Here it is and thanks for coming by to look!
I just love the design of this Memory Box stamp that I got at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff (my LSS). I colored the "leaves" with the same colors I used for pumpkins this fall and then used a few shads of 'E' to color the owls. Done! This Basic Grey "Max and Whiskers" paper has the perfect fall colors! Then I couldn't decide which ribbon to use so I used BOTH to add some extra interest since I wasn't adding a bow.
I am thankful for you! You can still comment on my little Tilda box below for a couple of Magnolia stamps. Random.org will choose a winner tonight. AND you can still make your own Holiday decoration with a Magnolia image to win your choice of two stamps from Diana!
Details are HERE!
And don't forget about the NEW challenge blog for Magnolias! The challenge on now is to use Pink and Yellow. There will be a new challenge posted on Tuesday, Nov. 23!
Have a wonderful day!

Magnolia-licious Hearth and Home Challenge and Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I'm so glad you're here! If you are hopping along the Magnolia-licious team's monthly Blog Hop and you stopped here after visiting the talented Patti Jo then you are doing great! If you would like to start at the beginning you can visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog for the order. Our task (and yours, I hope!) is to make something for the HOME! I don't know about you, but sometimes when I see the challenge I think,"I have no idea what to make!" I've even considered bowing out for a challenge here and there! (Have never done it!) That is what happened with this challenge and then I saw THIS on Splitcoast Stampers!
My box came together very quickly using Cherry Cobbler and SU Christmas designer papers.
There are so many delicious Christmas stamps at Magnolia-licious and I love this one! She is number 3069, REINDEER TILDA.
Another challenge I took on was coloring a large area in RED copics! Reds sure aren't easy, are they? You see the result. I did my best, but sort of wish I'd tried Prismas to even the color a bit.

Then I had a tough time with photos 'cuz it's dark and I was trying to photograph RED!! I took a lot!

In the end, I LOVED naking this and I think it will find a place in our home this holiday season! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will travel on to my Fabulous Friend, Sharon! She will certainly have something awesome!

I used R21, R22, R29 and R59 for my reds!

Thanks for coming by! I will choose a winner from my comments for a little surprise of a couple of Magnolia stamps and a card made by me. I'll mail anywhere and Random.org will choose a winner on Thursday at 9:00 pm Eastern time.
Thanks again, Enjoy your day!!
Cheryl

Open the Gate to Christmas!

Hello! Happy, happy Saturday! And it's time for another challenge on the JUGS blog! This week it's Gate fold cards! They are very easy to make, especially with a Scor-pal to score the perfectly spaced lines! Please see the Jugs Blog for all the details and the Design Team's fabulous samples! I used this cute mouse with his mint candy from Art Gone Wild! I bought this stamp at a show a couple of years ago and this is the first time it's seen ink! I have no idea why I neglected it for so long! I love it! I used paper from My Mind's Eye (I Believe) and from Fancy Pants on Poppy Red card stock. I did some faux stitching ( I should have done real stitching, but was too lazy!)
My ribbon is adhered with Scor tape along the back of the card so it won't fall off when untied.
The candy wrapper is covered with Glossy Accents and there are stickles on the mouse's hat

Whatever you're up to today I hope it's a great day for you!
Thanks so much for coming by! I appreciate you taking the time!

More Christmas!

Hello and happy Thursday! Thanks to all Veteran's who served our country well. It is appreciated and you deserve this day of honor and more! Thank you! For my card today I used I Brake for Stamps Large Flower Background.
I decided it could make a card all by itself! At only 5.00 it's a real deal! You can use my code SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% off any order there!
I think I can be colored for any season or occasion. A sentiment would also look good in the corner, I think. It is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with copics.
Even small things can (and should) have highlights. It just take a little careful coloring and at least two shades of markers, sometimes three for more contrast.
I used R22, R29 and R59 for the flowers, a yellow and an orange for the centers and YG01, YG17 and YG99 for the leaves. Leave quite a bit very light and then color small portions with the darker color. Then blend a bit with the lighter color. As I'm sure many of you know, the blender is difficult to work with in small areas! I used T1 and T3 to add depth around the flowers.
Well, that's it for me today! I've got to finish (start!) my JUGS card for Saturday! Oh, and some housecleaning!
Have a wonderful day! Take care, Cheryl

Deck the Halls!

Hello! This is the card I planned on posting Monday, then Tuesday.... and here it is Wednesday already! Finally the card is done and photographed! Thanks for coming by!
I also wanted to take part in letting you know (if you don't already!) that there is a new challenge blog for Magnolia-licious stamps with a new Design Team! There will be TWO challenges a month that will be in addition to the challenges on the Mag Highlites blog! The very FIRST was posted today and here is the LINK to the blog with ALL the details! Hope you can get on board with this new team! They are AWESOME!
This card uses Lightning Edwin (#161) from the Merry Christmas 2010 collection over at Magnolia-licious. He was lots of fun to color! I added stickles to his lights and then Glossy Accents on top of that-so there's sparkle and shine!
For his skin I uysed E000, E00, E11 and R30
The browns are E33, E31, E25 and E37
Blue jeans are B41, B95, B45, B99
Green sweater YG11, YG13 and YG17
I kept the rest pretty simple with a little stitching, sponging and embellishments! Thanks for coming by to see what I've been up to!
Hope you have a great day!

Warm Hugs!

Hi! Please read below for the winner of my blog candy!
I made this card today when I should have been doing other things! I was really struck by a card I saw in the Featured Stamper's gallery at Splitcoast and HAD to CASE!
This is Starry Snowman from Whipper Snapper. I used copics to color- BG000, BG10 and BG72
I used R11, R21 and R05 for the pinks/reds. The snowflake on the background is from the SU snowflake set from last year and is stamped in Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink)
And the winner of the shaker windows, some paper and a stamp or two is COMMENT #26 as chosen by www.random.org on Friday night.
The commenter is lynn
lynn, please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com as soon as you get a chance so I can mail your package! Thanks!
Well, I want to try to finish a card to post tomorrow and have other things to do to prepare for the work week!
Have a great evening!

JUGS Sketch!

Hi! I'm so honored to be asked to be a guest designer for JUGS this month! Here's the first card I finished to share with you for the JUGS (Just Us Girls!) design team! They post a new challenge every Saturday and for November I get to join them! They have a VERY talented design team and some GREAT prizes!! Here's the LINK TO THE JUGS Blog!
The challenge for this first week of November is a wonderful sketch! Please see the blog above for the sketch basics. I stayed fairly true to it! You can also see what the Design Team members made with the sketch on the blog!
My card has a Whipper Snapper image called Sanders. Cute, huh? I made another orange cat like our Charlie. (Violet is more difficult to color, but she's feeling left out so I'll have to try again soon!)
My card base is Kraft. The red card stock is Pure Poppy and the designer paper is from Basic Grey's newest 6x6 pad (Jovial) . The sentiment is from an SU set and the swirl is cut from Linen card stock with a Magnolia die. I used some white glitter dots in the lower corner. My Poppy panel is cuttlebugged with a houndstooth folder and then shaded with burgundy ink.
Sanders is colored with copics, of course! I didn't keep the colors, but if you really need them, please let me know and I'll do my best to figure them out for you!

Well, it's a busy Saturday! I hope you have a good one and I thank you for taking the time to visit here!

Serenity

Hello and happy Friday! One of our nephews has a Halloween birthday so I got his card to him on time and a few other Halloween cards last week.
BUT, I did not get a card out to our niece in Buffalo! I'm so ashamed! To make up for it I got this card made this week for her. I loooove how it came out!
I must give credit where credit is due-my card was completely inspired by one I saw when I bought the stamp at my LSS in Buffalo.
The stamp is by Memory Box and is called Cat and Lamp. I stamped it on Papertrey's smooth cream card stock. The cat is solid so it stamps black. Dave thought I should make it into an orange cat like our Charlie so I played around with Marigold Morning, pumpkin pie and Really Rust inks and finally got this look. I cut the cat out and popped it up on a dimension piece. I think I also shaded the left edge a bit with E08.
Oops-before I did the cat I used sticky notes to give the shade to the lamplight. I put the edge down and sponged Adirondack Butterscotch and Cranberry for the wall. When I removed the sticky note it looked too stark so I sponged a little barely banana to make the glow.
The lampshade is paperpieced with a piece of Basic Grey paper from Pyrus. The stand is colored with copics. Before I put it together I knew it would be a little plain so I decided to stitch around the edges.
(usually I decide AFTER and have to tear the card apart to do the stitching!)
The card stock is Aqua Mist, Peach parfait and dp from Cosmo Cricket.
So that's it for today. Do you think my niece will forgive me?
I've been given a special honor for the whole month of November so I will have a post for tomorrow too!
Oh, and I'll announce my winner of the shaker card windows.
Have a wonderful day!
Cheryl

ps. To Sharon in Arizona-the blue is from SU-Brilliant Blue (not sure they make it anymore, though) The double dot paper is from Bo Bunny. they make many colors!

Old Oak Tree for CCC!

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog! I made this 5.5" square card for the current Copic Creations Challenge.
The challenge is to pull out those Es and color something brown OR to make a scene card. Mine's a bit of a scene but I was mostly focused on coloring brown. Our challenge this time is sponsored by a great craft store~Make "it" Crafty and its owner Zoe! The prize is some copic markers and a few of her digital images!
My Old Oak Tree is colored in E31, E42, E35, E25, E29 and E49.
The surrounding sky is BG000, BG10, BG72
The pumpkins are from I Brake for Stamps-Pumpkin Harvest. It's a set of three connected pumpkins that I used HERE. I just colored the two smallest and cut them out and overlapped them. I used Y17, Y19, YR16, YR18 and E08 to color them.
We hope you'll have some time int he next two weeks (by Nov. 14) to show us what you can do with browns (or a scene)!
I appreciate that you took the time to stop by today!
Cheryl

You can still comment on the SHAKER CARD below to win some shaker windows, some paper and a Tilda stamp or two! You have until Thursday, Nov 4 at 9:00 pm! THANKS!!

You warm my heart!

Hello! After saying I would be posting the Magnolia-licious Sketch project today I wasn't so sure! But, it's still Monday here so I made it! Maybe you've already seen Suzanne's group post containing some fab cards by my fellow designers. Here's the LINK to her post for all the details.

Basically, that crazy Barb challenge us (and YOU!) to make a shaker card! I remember making shaker cards YEARS ago! You had to buy foam board to put between your acetate and card stock! I always got glue right on my acetate and that foam board was miserable to cut!
Well, now there are these cool little shaker pieces you can buy! They are three dimensional and self adhering! Oh, boy, was I glad! I bought 10 in a package at my LSS for a few dollars. I knew I wanted something small and the circles were sold out. Once I had them home I was glad to have the squares! I decided it would make the perfect ICE CUBE for Tilda to sit on! I also got some Martha Stewart Glitter 'chunks' to put in the shaker piece. Luckily for the ice idea I bought aqua! Serendipity!

I only wished I had used some glitter in the background. I did stamp it with snowflakes so it wouldn't be stark. My paper is from Fancy Pants-Arctic Chill by jackie eckles. Tilda is colored with the following copics.
E000, E11, E00, R30, BG10, BG72.
R81, R83 and R85 for the top, but there is also some R11 in her top to give it a little different shade. Browns are E31, 35, 25 and 29.
I have Stardust stickles here and there and spica pen on her bootlaces.
Tilda is called Cozy Tilda (#3020) in Diana's store. Cute, cute, cute!
Well, I hope you've enjoyed reading about my card and that you will consider making a shaker card of your own to enter!
I would like to send someone a few of these square shakers as well as a Tilda stamp and maybe a little paper! Please comment by Thursday evening, November 4 if you would like the chance to win. I will ship anywhere. You have all month on the challenge so you would get them in time to use!
Have a great evening and day tomorrow! Thanks for visiting!
Cheryl
