Dressy Tilda

Hi! I've been working on this one a couple of days! Do you ever do that? I chose the paper and colored her and the layout just didn't seem like "enough". I finally decided to quit messing with it and leave it alone. This is a standard A2 card which is my favorite to do because I don't like to do too many embellishments! It could be mailed for regular postage :) I like that!

I'm getting this ready Monday night to post on Tuesday so I will add copic colors in the morning. I didn keep them and was very happy to the match on this Creative Imaginations paper.
Suzanne just emailed that there is something special going on Saturday for World Card Making day. There will be challenge on Splitcoast and Diana (Magnolia-licious) is hosting one!
There are more details on the Magnolia Highlites Blog.
Sounds like fun!

Edited to add:
copics used:
BV0000, BV02, BV13
V12, V0000 (socks)
BG10, BG0000, G12, G82, G0000
Hair Y21, YR24, E27
shoes E43, E27
Thanks so much for visiting!!
Have a great day!

Papertrey Pumpkins!

I just love the vintage picnic set from Papertrey and now is the perfect time to use the pumpkins in the basket! Must be a huge basket! My card base is So Saffron stamped in Mustard with the Paisley background from SU. The edges are sponged with Soft Suede. The sp is from Autumn Leaves by Papertrey Ink and the other card stock colors are pumpkin pie and Soft Suede.

I colored the image with my copics and used the following colors.
Pumpkins: Y17, YR15, YR16, YR18 and E08, blended with YR0000
Leaves YG91, YG93, YG97
Basket: E33, E35, E37 and blended with E0000
Today is Totally Stampalicious Monday and the challenge is to make a manly card! Mine isn't done, but hopefully will be tonight for posting soon!
Here are the details straight from Totally Stampalicious.
Thanks so much for visiting! I've been working on coloring, but don't seem able to complete the cards! Have to get my saved sketches out to give me the necessary push!
More posts this week! I hope!
Anyway, thanks for checking in!

Happy birthday, Dave!

Hi, I made this card for my DH, Dave whose birthday was Tuesday! Dave loves planes so this Snoopy Flying High was a perfect choice! AND it had never seen ink before! I used an old SU background stamp on my Bermuda Bay card stock which I LOVE!! It's so great with this MME paper! I found the apron punch recently so used that as well.

Snoopy is colored with my copics in pumpkin shades (again!)
I want to watercolor again, it was my first love. Ahhh, when time permits.....
Have a great day and THANKS YOU so much for coming by my Cottage!

Totally Stampalicious!

Hi! A totally new stamp company hit the scene on September 15! Joycelyn and Rebecca asked if I would be one of their guest designers for the kickoff of their new company, Totally Stampalicious and they released FOUR sets on that day! Meet Old Brawd! She comes with a larger cake and Five great (touching AND funny!) sentiments! As you can see she is large enough to fill the front of my A2 sized card but if you check out the Stampalicious Blog you will see how she also works if you cut out a portion of her!
Great card, Joyce! And while you're there please read the details on the Monday challenge! You can participate and have the chance to win a 25.00 gift certificate to Totally Stampalicious!
I usually do the "cute" cards and these sets offer a fun change for me and a chance to get some adult cards made up, 'cuz I have a lot of Old Brawd friends! I can call them that since I'm one too! (Though I think I've heard that 50 is the new 40!)
Please check out the other designers and their fabulous work with Hawt dog, Old Brawd, Road Hawg and Rockin' Frog!
Do you want me to list the copics I used? I have them jotted down and can edit later if you want them. Paper is from October Afternoon, Weathervane collection, ribbon from All that Scraps and buttons from Papertrey Ink.
Have a Stampalicious Day!

It's Your Day!

Hi and Happy Sunday! It's Tankgirl's day on SCS. She is the featured stamper. I am so "in the mood" to color pumpkins, but I have a lot of birthday cards to get done so this orange card is my personal compromise!! I love orange!!

I used Basic Grey Paper (Ambrosia) with grey and Apricot card stock. The sentiment is an oldie, but goodie by Savvy stamps.
Copics I used are:
YR0000, YR17, YR19, YR04, YR15 Y19, YR18, BG10, E93
and co0l greys, c1, c3, c5, c7 and c9.
This is a card for a man so the only sparkle is a little spica glitter pen on the stripe and chrome.

Thanks for visiting! I love reading the great comments I get!

Vampire Edwin

Good Saturday morning! Yeah, no work today!! Isn't if frustrating when we get these views of new Magnolias, but know it will be awihle before we can get them?! It is to me!
But, we can't forget the Tilda and Edwin's that haven't seen much use because we got them late last year!
I'm pleased with this card IRL and sorry by photography doesn't show off the deep rich Basic Grey paper colors that I tried to match in my coloring. I used a piece of the BG Eerie (6x6) paper to cut my background for behind Edwin.

I hope you like it! We're off to the LSS (1 hr away!) today and this is for the owner!
Have a great, autumn Saturday whatever you do!
Hugs to you all!

My Friend in Kansas!

Hi! I've got a friend in Kansas! No, it's not Dorothy, it's Helen! I don't know if you remember this Post?
It was for our Halloween Blog Hop for Magnolia-licious!
I promised one commenter that I would make them a card and send them a Magnolia stamp! My winner was Helen and she has received her package so I can post this now! Helen's request was for a Christmas card so I took this Stylish Tilda (actually from a fall collection, I think!) and put her in her Christmas outfit! Love those green wool shorts! This Tilda is not only Stylish, but she is Sooooo versatile. I could also put her in Autumn or Spring colors. Sometimes I cut the wings off for a different look.

I THINK I have the colors (of copics used) written somewhere so I will edit and post them later. The swirls are a punch, flowers are primas, paper is Basic Grey.
I also think that Helen likes her card! I also sent her the Sitting Winter Tilda! I may give another prize like this is the near future! My blogoversary is coming up SOON!
Wishing you a Magnolia-licious day!

Copic Creations Challenge-Mixed media

Wow! This was a "I didn't know you could do THAT!" for me! We were to use our copics and prisma/gamsol together!!
It was so fun to see the result and you will want to check out the amazing creations on the Copic Creations Blog. We're being sponsored this time by Stamps Happen and that's where I got this wonderful Red Clover Flower Fairy stamp.
I think this technique is perfect for those who don't have many copic markers. I used one pink, two greens on the grassy areas and one green on the leaves. After coloring an area solidly in copic marker I shaded with a darker pencil and used my gamsol and stump to blend! Really fun!
There are some links from the great Marianne Walker that I think Mary will link to the CCC blog.

I took another picture of the Tilda witch card because the ones this morning were so blurry. I hope this one is a little better.

Thanks for stopping by. Please be sure to check out the other artwork on the Copic Creations Blog. You'll be glad you did!

A promise kept-Tilda!

Hi! I'm running late but you're worth it! I said I would post a Tilda card I made using the blender pen to remove color as I did on the pumpkin below. Here it is! I removed color from Tilda's apron. With the spider theme and some great paper the rest of the card came together pretty quickly-despite a rotten headache yesterday!

Thanks for visiting!
Very quickly, I'm also looking for blog assistance. I've added Feedburner for email subscriptions, but what I really wanted was Feedblitz. Does anyone know if/how you can get Feedblitz for free. Everything I came across was to be paid for! No way, I say! thanks, in advance for any advice!
Have a great day!

Playing with Copics!!

Hi!! I've spent so much of my energy on my schoolwork that my creative Mojo has taken a vacation! I decided to play with my copics Ala Nichole Heady to see if I could spark that creative spirit! I've used Papertrey sets Boo to You and Fancy Flourishes, Kraft card stock, Spring Moss card stock, some dp (?), and SU striped grosgrain wide ribbon. (lucious stuff!)

The fun was in creating the pumpkin! The outline was stamped in Tuxedo black, then I colored it with copic markers Y35, YR12, YR16 and YR18 , keeping the lighter colors to the right and darker to the left. Then I took my (juicy) blender pen and began to "lift" or "move" the color away leaving light colored dots! So fun to experiment with!
I stamped the black face on last and then added black stickles to the features. I really love this simple card and think I will complete a set because I also tried the other patterns which Nichole did on more of the pumpkins!
(In a recent post she applied the same technique to some holiday images. Please check her recent blog entries for those)
I know on the close up you can see my errors, but they don't show up so much IRL.

And for the Magnolia lovers in the group, I've started on a Tilda using some of this same technique!! She'll be posted later today or tomorrow!! Please come back for that

Until next time, thanks so very much!

Peaceful Stampin' Up!

Well, it seems things are anything but peaceful at Stampin' Up! This card is a tribute to all my friends who are loyal SU demonstrators and must choose between SU and their other papercraft designing opportunities. I feel badly for them in that this choice has been forced upon them. No more editorializing! I love SU products and have always been a good customer to my demonstrators! Sometimes a VERY good customer, if you know what I mean!? LOL!!

This card is all Su and is a CASE of a framed project I saw online awhile ago. I'm sorry that I don't know to whom I should give credit!

Wishing these Desigining Demonstrators all the best!
Have a great day everyone!
Cheryl

P.S. I was asked about the colors on the project below. They are as follows:
E53, E31
Y17, Y35, Y38, YR15, Yr16, Yr18, R59
V06 and V09

Papertrey leaves

Hi! How are you? Hope your day is going well wherever in the world you are!
I'm beginning my second day back at work (with kids). Wow! Was I ever tired last night! On evenings like that I sit with my stamped images and markers and think about coloring, but never get any done! I made this box for a friend who is a second grade teacher. She is terrific! I love this box template by Lauren Meader for Papertrey Ink and have had it printed on Razzberry for awhile. When I wanted to enclose a small gift for Trish I decided to get it done! I KNEW I should stamp the box base but I was pinched for time and afraid I would ruin it because I already had the scores folded. So I left it plan and just let the medallion piece stand on its own. She liked it.

Here's a close up of my coloring on the pitcher of leaves. This set by Nichole has three great images to color. I've got them all colored up ready to make into cards and can't wait to have time to color more of them!
Well, thanks for stopping by! My followers have steadily increased and I am so grateful to you!
I'm looking into adding Feedblitz for email subscribers. It takes me awhile to get these things added as I am so computer illiterate. I learn as I go!
Have a great day!

Hi! So sorry I didn't get a post done yesterday!

Here is another Stylish Tilda for you to look at, but wear your sunglasses 'cuz she's bright!!

I was totally inspired by this card a couple of weeks ago what was made by Aud. Yeah, it's great!! My card also fits this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge.
My card base is Purely Pomegranate (don't know what I'll do when my stash is gone!), then a layer of Pumpkin Pie. The dps are Lucky from Basic Grey and K& Co from the Raspberry pad.
I used my Fiskars' Lattice punch that punches the corners and the sides.
I used my Scor-bug to make the perforations in the paper and then added faux stitches.
I have one more card that I have made with this Tilda to show you soon, but I will wait and do some other things first!
Here are the copic colors:
BV00 (wings)
E000, E01, E93 (skin and cheeks)
E33, E25 and E37 (hair and boots
Y38 YR16 hat and buttons
RV21, RV02, RV04, RV09, RV17 and RV19 (shorts and sweater)
I have had a couple of questions about things and I PROMISE I will get back to you! I have to find the answers!
Thanks for visiting

A Magnolia-licious Challenge for September!

Hi! There was no time (and no card!!) to post yesterday, but I DO have my September project ready for today! Yeah!!
Queen Diana challenged us to make this really cool file folder project! I won't go into too much detail because I am sure you have seen the wonderful projects already made by our DT! If not, here is the link to the challenge blog:
And here is the link to the DIRECTIONS
for making it! You will want to try it because you can win $25.00 from Diana's store!!
Speaking of her store the Tilda I used is Stylish Tilda. She is an "older" Tilda now, but I just love her. She does have wings, but I cut them off for this project. I don't see her in Diana's store just now but when I looked I saw about 30 others that would work perfectly! Wouldn't sunflower Tilda have been great?! Hmmmm....
STORY
Diana was once told (by the people in Sweden) that ALL the Tildas are angels, but sometimes you cannot see their wings! AND, they added, the reason there is no mouth is because angels speak with their hearts! Can I hear an AWWWWwwww!
I have never been bothered by them only having eyes for their features. Have you?

My paper is Bloom from My Mind's Eye. I had mine made and ripped it apart after going to a stationary store and buying cream colored envelopes. It just looks better to me! The brown closure looked too plain when I was finished so I stamped it in vintage cream ink with a stamp from SUs Carte Postale! Aren't we forever changing (and improving) our projects!
Okay, lots to do today! I hope to get a post ready for tomorrow and it is another beautiful day for cleaning and sorting! Wishing YOU a productive day and I thank you again for visiting me here.

Mo Manning #2 Bat Cat!

Here is another of Mo Manning's illustrations that I love! There really are so many and I have purchased a few!
Please see yesterday's post for the details on the Copic Creations Challenge to use your favorite colors. This uses another favorite of mine-orange
I used Y15, Y35, Y38, YR16 and YR16. When I color something orange I always start with a more yellow color and build toward the desired color.
I used a Spellbinders medallion (hearts, I think) The pieces would all stack nicely, but as I was playing with the layout I thought the off center looked neat! the yellow circle looks like a moon and the spellbinder's medallion looks like wrought iron to me.
I added stickles to the mask edge, but believe me I really wanted to sparkle the whole darn thing! I put candy dots in the corners! these are my friend, Lisa's favorite, and I remember eating the real ones off the paper too!
The deep blue is Adirondack Stream sponged on. the color is intense!
Thanks for coming here again! I can't tell you how happy your comments make me!

Have you seen Mo Manning's Art?

Well, you should check out her illustrations! They are amazing! She is the sponsor for our Copic Creations Challenge today! Her website is Digital Pencil Too Or Mos' Digital Pencil.
She is giving away a store gift certificate for $20.00!!

I chose Mummu's bike to color for the challenge. We were to use any of our favorite colors/combinations. I love aqua AND my own bike is that color! I also love soft yellow. The skirt was trickier. I love green and orange but neither seemed like they would work, so Rose pink it is. (And, I do love pink, too!)
I wanted to contrast this active granny with a vintage card otherwise so I went to my K& Company pad of paper and found the perfect pattern! The card became 6" x 8" so I could show off the wonderful roses and aqua stripes! A little lace and one of my crocheted flowers, some ivory satin ribbon and I was all set.

You have until September 14 to join in this challenge with us! Please check the details on the Copic Creations Challenge blog linked above.

Colors I used:
Yellow: Y0000, Y21, YR21, YR24
Aqua: BG0000, BG10, Bg72
Rose: E93, R30, RV42, R32, R24, E53
(The pinks were just too bright. Don't forget when you don't want a bright color you can "tone it down" with a light grey or brown.)

Thanks for checking this out! Tomorrow I have another of Mo's illustrations to show you!
I'll be at work all day-can't wait to read what you think when I get home!
