Spring Bunny Pot

Hello!  Easter break kept me busier than I'd expected!  It was sure nice to have some time off work. I spent some time with friends and family, too.  Even more time was spent coloring images to make into cards in the upcoming days.  But, then I seemed to lost my mojo! Now with just evenings to craft I'm trying to get it back.
Here is a card I took to make with friends one day last week.  I think they liked it.  We colored our images with reinkers (SU!) after stamping this cute Spring Bunny Pot (Whipper Snapper Designs) onto watercolor paper and cutting it with the MFT cross stitch rectangle die. I parted with some of my beloved Apricot Appeal cardstock (sadly retired SU-what is WRONG with them!?!) which had been embossed with a circles and dots folder from Sizzix. The panel of (also beloved) Lawn Fawn plaid designer paper  was added to the side for additional color. The card base is Bashful Blue (another retired SU color).

Guess that's it for tonight-I've got some 7th grade essays to grade! Take care and I'll see you soon!

Puddle Duck gift card

Hello!! I'm so glad Monday is over for the week!! On to Tuesday!  But, first, a bridal shower card.  I made this for a good friend whose son is getting married in May.  The shower was on Saturday and had an Asian theme.  I think Basic Grey's Kioshi fits the bill!
The image is Puddle Duck from Whipper Snapper Designs. You can find it HERE, if you like it!
I followed directions at Splitcoast (Resources section) for Pop up gift card holder. Very easy and fun to make!!
I didn't have a gift card envelope so I made my own from the Cat's Pajamas die. I put it together and cut the flap off, just like in the directions.

Well, gotta go!! Take care, thanks for visiting and have a terrific Tuesday!

MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS DT MONTHLY CHALLENGE!!

Hello friends and welcome to March!!  Hard to believe, isn't it?  We all now spring is coming soon so we are celebrating that flowers will be "popping up" very soon!! Our dear Sharon has challenged us to have something that moves on our cards!  You can check out our whole collection of DT work at the Mag Highlites Blog today!  And you can find out how you can enter for a chance to win stamps!!
I used directions on Splitcoast stampers (in the resources section) to make a 'surprise pop up card'.  You pull up on the string attached to a tag on the tops and the image panel comes up revealing a hidden area!  I love, love this kind of card!  I have made them several times~they are not hard and you get a really nice card!  This time I made my card square (5" x 5").  I started by cutting my card base that size and then made decisions on how large I wanted my image and secret compartment to be.  I used my Fiskars little cutter to make my cuts in the panel.
Here's where you can see the tag that pulls up.  You can also put a sentiment or image on this piece.  I didn't because I don't know what I want there!
I love how there are flowers next to Tilda and her bunny and when the card is 'closed' the flowers combine into one arrangement. This was a little tricky, but I managed!  the fence is a Papertrey Ink die. then I used some Martha Stewart punches for the flowers and leaves on the fence.  I also used an MS grass punch. My paper is from Echo park (dotted) and (once again) from My Mind's Eye-howdy doody. I used pool party and baja breeze cardstock.  tilda is colored with my copics.  My blues are the usual BG10, 72 and blender.  My reds are R20, 22 and 24 for a coral color.
Well, I hope you like what I had to show you today! I loved making it!!
Have an excellent day and month!!
Hugs, Cheryl

Tilda in Spring Rain

Hello, friends! It's Thursday already! Yeah! I have a card with a Magnolia mini to share with you today! Right now, we would love a little spring rain! We had 6" of snow yesterday! My poor daffodils! Anyway, this is #3014 TILDA IN SPRING RAIN from the Magnolia-licious store. I love her in full size and she is quick to color up and put on a card in the mini size! I used the Mojo Sketch for this week to design my card-sketches are so helpful when you have your image and papers, aren't they? Here's the link for the SKETCH
I'm sure you're not surprised to hear she's colored with copics! I used the usual skin colors. Lately I've been starting my hair with Y23 and then using my Es (31, 33,99, 25 and29) to finish.
I'm always looking for green combinations to match my papers and this might be an unusual one:
G20, YG03 and YG93, but it worked! Of course it's BG10 and BG72 for the 'rain' and puddle. The tan that I added around the oval is Distress Ink in Antique Linen.
The large plaid is an older paper from Piggy Tales called the Frog Prince, but the other two are from new Prima 6x6 pads called Botanical and Madeline.
Thank you so much for all the nice comments on my Screen Door card! I hear your requests and talked to Sharon the other day. She began by hand cutting her doors after getting inspiration from a crafting magazine. Since she wanted to teach it for a class, she had a company make her a die to cut the doors. AND she is willing to mail out her little door kits to customers! She would love to have you call her at the store for payment and mailing information (she does not have online ordering, but there is a Buffalo Stamps site)
Please contact her at 716-834-3540 and she will be happy to help you!

One commenter also asked about the dp inside-it's also My Mind's Eye and is in the 6" pack called Hattie (front papers from same pack)

Okay, that's it! Sorry for the long post! Have a great day!

Tilda, her bunny and Just Magnolia challenge

Hi! It's really crunch time, but I love the Just Magnolia sketch for the week so I'm risking being late for work! Here's Tilda and her bunny which is up for preorder and expected VERY SOON inm the Magnolia-lcious store!
Also present are those wonderful 'tropical colors' that I told Nancy Parker would be appearing in cards. They are helped along by the awesome MME Mable papers!
I hope you have this paper because then you can get a better idea of the colors! They photographed so differently! The paper is SU Apricot Appeal, not orange! It is sponged with pumpkin to give it depth.
#363 TILDA AND HER BUNNY!

A close up of my rose, which I am quite happy with. I used the flower die from ZMy Favorite Things and PTI felt. But then I sponged it with pumpkin too to give it a peachy color! I heart it! The leaves are also cut from felt using a Magnolia-licious doo hickey die.
I know I can dress this card up a bit more with a ribbon and/or sentiment int he top left corner, but I hope you like it as it is!
I WILL post colors, but I really have to link to the sketch site and get to work! Thanks for coming by!

Contest Kick -Off!!

Have you seen the new out there? Diana is having an Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest with REALLY BIG prizes!! You have lots of time to create up to THREE projects for entry to win! Please visit the link above on our Design Team blog for all the details!Despite the fact that we could get up to 6 inches of snow today I am SO into spring papercrafting projects! ETA: I don't mean to whine about a little snow. I'm so sorry for the people in Japan and am hoping and praying for those in Hawaii and in the Pacific. I've used an image from the few images that were released in the Butterfly Dreams collection. This is #252 TILDA WITH HANGING RABBIT. I do love bunnies and have for many, many years! I have a stuffed one that I got for Easter as a child. The more realistic looking ones are my favorites! I like the white ones but am more partial to the brown or multicolored ones so I had to color Tilda's bunny!
I just wish I'd finished my card in time to enter! This week looks like another great sketch!
My paper is from Stampin' Up-Springtime from the current mini catalog. I love that it has a 'kraft' color to it, called Crumb cake by SU. My die cut pieces are from some February releases by Papertrey Ink.
I'm pretty happy with this card except for her hair. I just could not get it the way I wanted! Anybody else have trouble with get the hair consistently right? I think I need to go back to my basic colors and retrain myself!
Anyway, thanks for visiting! I'm so glad you did and don't forget to check out Diana's contest!! You'll be glad you did!
Have a wonderful day!!

Finally Framed!

Hello and happy, happy Saturday! I have my Monthly Magnolia-licious card done! The excellent Janiel has given us the challenge for March! It is to include a frame somehow in your project and use the rest of the recipe she gives us as well. (bling or pearls, ribbon or trim, flowers, and, of course a Maggie image! You can read complete details on the blog HERE! For my card I used #275 TILDA WITH LACE JEANS from the new Butterfly Dreams collection. I think she looks like she's leaning over to look at the flowers coming out of the ground or at some small creature on the ground. My flowers are #427 LAZY SUMMER FLOWERS and a small ladybug which is probably from one of the kits from Sweden. I looked and looked for my snail and had all kinds of images out to try in my scene before settling on these two. The possibilities are nearly endless!

My paper is from My Mind's Eye (I've mentioned how much I love the new Stella and Rose patterns!). I made a frame with directions from Linda Duke when she previewed some of the new Spellbinder's dies we are all waiting for! The link is on my laptop which my 'computer guy' (my nephew A.J.) has right now. I'll link the directions when I can get to them again. I believe I linked them before on my blog when I used this idea on a card. One of my favorite parts is the little scrap strips I found on my table and added! They are the reverse side of the flowered paper! My card is 5.5" square.
Tilda is again raised with gel glue so there is quite a bit of dimension to the card.
Okay, please consider playing along with us! You have all month to do so!
Thanks so much for looking!

Spring Hop-Mini Style!

Hello! The Magnolia-licious team is happy to be back with our monthly blog Hop! Welcome! You are hopping through Spring projects made with Magnolia Minis! If you've come from the blog of the fabulous Barb Hardeman, you are doin'great! You can also go to the Mag Highlites blog for all the details!

This fun little box is a gable box made with an 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock! here is the link to the directions on SPLITCOAST
I always use my Scor-Pal and Scor-tape to score and adhere boxes! The new Scor-Pal has 1/4" score grooves!

Here is the LINK to the whole collection of Mini magnolias but I used the following stamps:
#3027 CHICKEN TILDA, #399 BUNNY TILDA, #517 MINI BENCH, #657 SPRING TREE

My project bases are Pale Plum from SU. To create the scene, I stamped the spring tree on xpress it card stock. On another piece I stamped bunny tilda. Then I masked her and stamped the bench. I cut the bunny and bench out as one piece and adhered it to my tree scene. I used a craft knife to cut the 'holes' in the bench and then my Cutterbee scissors as usual to cut the image out.

I took a lot of pics because I just couldn't seem to get a good one!
And now, dear friends, please hop along to the very talented Suzanne Dean's blog!
I know she has something wonderful to show you!
Huge appreciation that you came by today!

Tilda in Spring Rain

Hello stampin' friends! I hope you are having a good day and weekend! This is the end of our spring break and we've gone from SUN to rainy and dreary today! Very fitting for going back to work! So sorry for those getting the terrible rain and storms! As I mentioned the other day, I have a lot to finish for our Third Stamp Fest on May 1st. So I made this card a quick one for the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast today-Gloria. I was also inspired by a card that Sharon made at our LSS! She colors beautifully as does one of her "helpers" Debbie whom I got to meet!
Anyway, what I started to say was-I really do like these simple cards that are all about the colors and coloring with few embellishments! I hope you like it too!
My stamp came from Diana at Magnolia-licious.
She really has the best prices and a huge stock of images! Here's a close up and my colors:
Skin E000, E11 and R20
Shadow W2 and W00
Hair Y21, E33, E25 and E29 (same Es on umbrella handle)
Rain/puddle B21

Dotty tree birds!

Hi! I love having time off from work! I got to make a card using the Splitcoast sketch today!
AND, I used a new image I just bought yesterday at Buffalo Stamps! I went shopping and to lunch with the greatest girls around! Lisa (lakind on SCS and Kind Creations) and Tracy (lodichick on SCS and Inky Doodles) We had the best day!
I stamped my tree in Soft Suede ink. I wasn't sure if I could color with my copics or not, but it worked perfectly! Pretty fast coloring, too!
Okay, Tracy, you bought ths Memory Box stamp too! Let's see what you do with it!
Now I must get out to my flower beds and stop the weeds from taking over just when my flowers are getting started!
Wishing you a sunshiny day!

Two tulips again!

Hi! Thanks for visiting and thanks for all the visits and comments yesterday as we had our Magnolia-licious Blog Hop~
I said I could imagine the Two Tulips card that I did in turquoise last week in other colors. Well, here it is in peach!
I used Apricot Appeal card stock and ink for the card base. I colored the tulips in the same greens; G20, G40, G24 and the peaches are YR21, YR12 and YR15.
Here's the link to the other card if you want to read a few more details:
Next up Red? Yellow? who knows!
I'm off to have some fun with the girls today-shopping at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff! Yeah!
This card is to give Lisa-she had a birthday yesterday and turned a nice round number!
Have a great day! Cheryl

Welcome Puddle Jumpers!

Oh, yes and BLOG HOPPERS!! It's the Mos's Digital Pencil Design Team's monthly BLOG HOP! My blog is the beginning of the hop for the first time EVA!! So glad you are here!! Our challenge is to use BUTTONS on a project and (if possible) in a different way. Well, I had no different way so I just used LOTSA them!! My image is from Mos' Digital Pencil and this image is Spring Fairy Puddle if you want to check it out. Also here is the link to Mo's Digital Pencil BLOG where you can see the latest and greatest released images!!

Now, to the card-my base is Bermuda Bay, then some Celery, a layer of Bo Bunny Double Dots and the Paisley is an older My Mind's Eye paper. I used a Martha Stewart Edge punch0hydrangeas and some stitching in aqua thread. The flowers are cut from PTI felt and my many buttons are also from PTI. I didn't have a teal colored embroidery floss so I colored some white with BG78. It is supposed to mimic the ribbons on the Bullfrog's legs.

Now check below if you want to know the colors of copics I used. THEN BE SURE TO HEAD OVER TO PINKPUDS-MINA'S BLOG TO SEE HER WONDERFUL CREATION!
Thanks so much for joining us today!
Cheryl

copics used:
E000, E11, R20
Hair E31, E33, E25 and E29
Frog G20, G40, G24 and TG21

Magnolia-licious Two Tulips!

Hi friends! Thanks for all the very nice comments on my Clean and Simple card yesterday-here is another! Yep, this is a Magnolia stamp from Magnolia-licious and aren't the tulips pretty? They are #453 and you can see them at Magnolia-licious I can see this card done in red, in orange, in yellow, in peach, in purple, lavender and even in a lime green! What a a great card set it would make! And I'm telling you these tulips colored up QUICK!! I did draw in the grass with my markers and then a few lines of black so the grass looked like part of the stamped image. The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set. The stripes in the background are from Vintage Stripes and the leaf image on the top is another set from PTI. I stamped them in Versamark ink on the Hawaiian Shores card stock. For the text scallops I used the large scallop die (PTI) and an old book from college! I KNEW I would need them again someday!! (College was about 35 years ago!!) The book pages had aged nicely in the attic, but I did use some distress tea dye ink on the edges anyway! Dawn McVey gets credit for the book page scallops.
An idea from Nicole Heady herself is the strip of Scor-tape which is then covered with a very find iridescent glitter.

Copics used were a few of the same Blue Greens and and Greens from the card yesterday.

I hope you have something to CELEBRATE today!
Hugs, Cheryl

Magnolia meets Papertrey Ink! (AND Scor-tape!)

Good morning! By going to my craft room yesterday I did find a little Mojo to work with! Then I didn't want to stop! Now it's Monday and back to work!
This card has something I saw on a PTI designer's blog awhile back-see the ribbon pieces that Tilda is sitting on? That's it!
I took some white scrap cardstock (4.25 x 5.5 inches) and covered it with my WIDE scor-tape. It only took three strips to cover it. Then I laid peeled off the paper to reveal the sticky side and and laid my ribbon pieces onto it. I cut off a peice about 1.25 inches and layered it on Hawaiin Shores card stock. AND I have more left to work with another day! Makes me happy!
What do you think?
The rest of the card is pretty simple and this Tilda is soooo sweet! She is Tilda with 3 Flowers (#3028) available at MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS AND you can put scor-tape in the search box, see all the sizes and order that, too! GOD BLESS DIANA!
She's colored in copics:
skin E000. E11 and R20
flowers R000 and R20
Dress BG11, BG32 and BG15
Shoes and hair E30, E42, E25 and E29
stems/leaf 20, G24
Thanks for visiting today! Wishing you a productive Monday!

Magnolia-licious Sketch for April!

Hi! I love a day off work! It allowed me time for a nice long, early morning walk and then time to complete my April sketch card! Our sketch is my the amazingly talented and fabulous Claudia of Pretty Pressings! She kept it nice and simple so the possibilities are endless and I love that! Thank you, Claudia!
My card base is Purely Pomegranate and I used dp from Basic Grey (Green at Heart) and cosmo Cricket (Farm Fresh). They mixed beautifully, IMO. I used images from Magnolia-licious, of course- the Open Gate and Tilda with eggs in her Apron. The sentiment is from Inky Antics. For details on making and entering a card this month, please visit our Magnolia Highlites Blog!
Once again, I forgot to write colors down and in a rush to clean up my desk I put the markers away. Sorry, I'll try to do better!
The bunny is because my friend LISA of KIND CREATIONS is so good at staging her cards that I wanted to try it! I've got a lot to learn! LOL!
My new car came to me yesterday! The dealer brought it down (an hour away) because we had driven there twice this week! I love it! It is another Subaru Outback (DH would add "Motortrend's Sport Utility vehicle of the year!") I traded in my blue one for a beauty-ful green one!
My winner of the Honey Bee Tilda card that I colored for the Copic creations Challenge, Mar 15 is # 18 chosen by Random.org
Barb, an RN is Michigan, this is you! Please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com with your address when you get a chance!
Have a great day, everyone, and thanks for visiting!

Top O' the Mornin' to Ya!

And Happy St. Patrick's Day! Isn't a great day!? The kids at school will be trapping and 'almost' catching leprechaun's all day! There will be many of the little fellows seen by youngsters with great imaginations! I love all things Irish! (Though there's not a drop of Irish blood in me-I'm English and German) This is Tilda with Shamrocks from last spring and the basket of shamrocks is from Alota, but Diana carries some of their images to use with our Tildas and Edwins! The greeting came from Magnolia-licious, too! I don't see any of them in stock right now, but if you're interested you can certainly let her know! She is all about customer service!
The basket is colored with Y21, YR24 and then browns are added-I think E25 and E29. I'm sorry but I'm not sure which greens I used on the shamrocks in the basket.

I love the little gold key (that I never got around to using on a Valentine's Day card!) I used Diamond stickles on her shamrocks because they have a slight gold tint to them in the light. The basket shamrocks are covered with stardust stickles for contrast.
Okay, Tilda is mostly colored with the Adirondack distress inks I've had for awhile now! I'm not very good with them!! I colored her face with copics and the suit and hat, socks and shoes are the inks. I couldn't get the variation on the suit so I went ahead and added some copic greens too. The paper is a good quality hot press and is quite smooth and sort of creamy in color.
I'll chalk this one up to learning and try again sometime! Sure won't be retiring my copics!

I'll see you tomorrow with Mo's monthly DT blog hop, but until then...
May your troubles be less,
And your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door.

Amazing Acetate blog Hop!

Good morning! Welcome to the Magnolia-licious Design Team Project of the Month Blog Hop! I don't remember whose idea it was to use acetate in our card/project but it was a GREAT idea! Maybe it was Becca's idea, cuz that's where we started the hop-at Amazing Paper Grace. If you then came from our GDT member, Angie you are right on track! I was trying to take daylight photos and keep the real shades of color so I'll apologize right now for the poor photos! This Tilda with Bike is on reorder
at the store. As Diana mentioned she is one of the smaller ones from last year. Her head could almost be covered by a quarter. For me this means she fits well on a standare A2 sizd card!

I love, love, love how an acetate card looks so that's what I started with! It was so fun I decided to make a box to go with it and use an acetate window!
I used new Bo Bunny sparkly paper with SUs orchid opulance. It's not my favorite color but is the perfect match for Bo Bunny's Jazmyne paper! The box is from Lauren Meder's new store My Time Made Easy and is called Shutterfly. I cut the flowers from my Bo Bunny dp.

I'll be honest, I had started this Tilda a while back and had her hair and skin colored already! I decided to stamp another and paper piece her apron with Papertrey Ink's Easter paper. I used Y21 and YR24 for the flowers and basket and V0000, Voo, V01, V09 and V15 for the purples. The bike tires are Cool Greys and I'm not sure about the greens.

small distorted photo!

Please visit the Copic Creations Challenge Blog for our first anniversary post and challenge with a HUGE prize that is actually MANY prizes!
My post and giveaway for that challenge will be TOMORROW!
But, before you do please finish our wonderful Magnolia-licious hop by traveling first to another GDT member, Stampin Mindy
Leave me a comment today and I'll choose a winner at the end of the week and get a prize out to you! I'll be giving away a card (made by me :) and a Magnolia stamp!
So much going on this week! Hope you have a terrific day!

Quick post..Strange card!

Good morning! I am running late, but don't like to go more than a day without posting! This odd card is in honor of March which is a mixture of Winter and Spring! And it is for my friend Lorrie in Ohio whose birthday is today! Lorrie LOVES winter and spring is okay, but she DOES NOT like the heat and humidity of Ohio's summers! That explains my mixture of spring colors and flowers with a winter image and edge punch! (I HOPE!)

I also want to thank CANADA for the wonderful Winter Olympics that recently ended! I loved every minute of the hours and hours that we watched! What a beautiful setting and great country! Thank You!

Gotta go! wishing you a productive day! come again sooon!
Cheryl

New blog borders and NO SNOW coming this weekend!

Border punch on last post is Martha Stewart and is called Hydarngeas. I got mine at www.franticstamper.com Fran has them ALL!

Celebrate Your day!

It's Monday, but let's celebrate anyway! I love posting Magnolias on Monday! My Tilda came from Magnolia-licious, but she doesn't seem to be available right now-very popular I expect! You can email Diana at HER STORE to check on when she will be coming in again. This Tilda is from the Raising the Ceiling collection. I recently purchased some white card stock from Card Couture as recommended by fellow DT member Suzanne Dean at Scrap Bitz. I agree with her that the color blends nicely because it stays wet on top of the paper. A big difference, though, from the Neenah Classic Solar Crest white that I usually use is that because the color doesn't absorb into the paper you don't get as much depth and darkness to your colors.
You also have to be careful not to blend too much because the color can get muddy (her hair started to do this before I realized it). I still will use it and my Neenah Classic AND my Papertrey Ink white! Just depends what look I want.

That's the Ultra fine Flower Soft for the grass (why didn't they just make it this way in the first place!) Love it! Want more colors!
The card stock is all SU-Celery, Banana, and Lavender.
The "field" that Tilda is running in is from Kaiser Kraft Lilac Avenue (6x6 pad) Mine came from No Time to Stamp-Sharon Johnson. It has lots more great papers!
Copic marker colors are as follows:
Face skin: E000, E01 and R20
Socks Y21 and Y32
Hair Y21, E99, E25, E08 and E29
top and Pants BV31, Bv00, BV01, BV02, BV17 (top doesn't' have BV17 added)
Time to get ready for work! Thanks for coming by! Wishing you a GREAT day!

Magnolia-licious March Sketch!!

Jacque gave us a great sketch to work with for the March challenge! It is so great that I was inspired to make a box too! I have more pictures so I'll try to keep the chat to a minimum! This is Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling Collection (and the Winter kit). If you are interested please let Diana know. She'll give you info on when she will have more in the store. Please head to the Challenge blog to see the sketch and the other Design Team member's gorgeous creations.

My box is from Papertrey Ink template called Do Me A Favor. The sides open wide so it would hold quite a bit. I've forgotten to mention that I printed a lot of boxes because a few weeks ago I bought a new printer and I am seriously IN LOVE with it! It's a Canon with a Rear tray so it prints all these templates I've bought. I'm soooooo happy! This is one I had printed (in soft sky) and it seemed the perfect time to put it together!

I used Y21, E08 and E25 on her hair. Her shoes are E33 and E99. Her dress is BG10 and BG72 and the green is YG01 and YG25. Her skin is the usual E000, E01 and R20.

Love this little gal, so here's a close up!
And then a pic of the front of our house! Our "olow guy" had to pile the snow on Sunday so there is room WHEN (not IF!) we get more! Funny how you can hardly see the front door!
(I had two pics, but one disappeared on upload!
