Warm Hugs!

Hi! Please read below for the winner of my blog candy!
I made this card today when I should have been doing other things! I was really struck by a card I saw in the Featured Stamper's gallery at Splitcoast and HAD to CASE!
This is Starry Snowman from Whipper Snapper. I used copics to color- BG000, BG10 and BG72
I used R11, R21 and R05 for the pinks/reds. The snowflake on the background is from the SU snowflake set from last year and is stamped in Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink)
And the winner of the shaker windows, some paper and a stamp or two is COMMENT #26 as chosen by www.random.org on Friday night.
The commenter is lynn
lynn, please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com as soon as you get a chance so I can mail your package! Thanks!
Well, I want to try to finish a card to post tomorrow and have other things to do to prepare for the work week!
Have a great evening!

Tilda in Spring Rain

Hello stampin' friends! I hope you are having a good day and weekend! This is the end of our spring break and we've gone from SUN to rainy and dreary today! Very fitting for going back to work! So sorry for those getting the terrible rain and storms! As I mentioned the other day, I have a lot to finish for our Third Stamp Fest on May 1st. So I made this card a quick one for the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast today-Gloria. I was also inspired by a card that Sharon made at our LSS! She colors beautifully as does one of her "helpers" Debbie whom I got to meet!
Anyway, what I started to say was-I really do like these simple cards that are all about the colors and coloring with few embellishments! I hope you like it too!
My stamp came from Diana at Magnolia-licious.
She really has the best prices and a huge stock of images! Here's a close up and my colors:
Skin E000, E11 and R20
Shadow W2 and W00
Hair Y21, E33, E25 and E29 (same Es on umbrella handle)
Rain/puddle B21
Berry colors are R30,R32, R35
Greens YG11, YG13, YG17
zipper y17
Thanks for coming by today! See you soon, I hope!

FS165-LATE

I just love this little bunny that Mo drew for us! He is sad because he is Late. Wouldn't this make a cute belated birthday card? I've said before that I can always use them. The sketch is the JUGS27 sketch and it is excellent! I used the PTI scallop border to cut the bottom of my card. Then I went to Bermuda Bay paper and the wonderful Graphic 45 paper called On the Boardwalk. It has fabulous turquoise and rust vintage colors. It's yummy! I almost don's want to cut it!
The ribbon is PTI's new Hawaiin Shores. I love the paper color and the ribbon lots! I wouldn't recommend the ink because it does not match the paper and ribbon! Oh well!
Here are my copic colors:
BG and Floor E33, E25 E99 then T0, W00 and W2
Bunny E30, E42 , E50 and R20
Shirt E33, E97, E99, E08 and E15
Vest BG10, BG13, BG15, BG18 and BG49
Thanks for hopping by and I wish all of you a Happy Easter!

Fabulous FS on SCS!!

I just love playing in the Featured Stamper challenge on Sunday! Here is my card for today! I took a break from coloring to make this and it came together very quickly! Sometimes it's fun to make a card that is easy to mass produce and I think I could make quite a few of these with different colors! I can just see it in Raspberry Fizz!
It's pretty self explanatory so I'll say so long for now and I hope your day is a FABULOUS one!

Ps. sorry my blog is not easy to read right now-back to the design blog to look for a white background (hopefully, later today!)

FS159 CAS CASE AND a WINNER!!

Hello!! I just had to join in on the Featured Stamper challenge today! She had this terrific clean and simple card that shouted out to me!

My great stampin' friend, Lisa and I were just at our LSS on Friday. I had this stamped picked up to purchase AGAIN!! Yep, I remembered in time that I (thought) I had it at home already. Lisa agreed and I was so pleased to find it quickly when I got home! This bunny is so cute, but I don't need TWO!!

Now I had a whopping 269 comments on my card for Mo's Celebration Blog hop (post HERE) last Tuesday so here is my winner of this image:

# 105 It's Jilli of Jilli's Paiges!
Jilli would you please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com
so I can get your address!? Congratulations!!

I also have a Magnolia-licious prize to give away! See this post:

Stand up for Nicole!

Hi! I made this card for the Featured Stamper on SCS today, my friend Nicole, Butterflyears!
Love her work! This was a TLC on SCS in July and I never got around to making one.
Today was the day! I've used a digital image that Mo had on Paper Craft Planet for FREE! She does that once in a while as she reaches new milestones in membership! Generous!
I seem unable to end my love affair with Kraft card stock! I was going to use white for this card, but the 12 x12 white I have is so flimsy! Back to my Kraft!
There may be a lot of pink appearing this week too! I just love this Bo bunny double dots paper! It's stored in a different place in my craft room so sometimes I forget about it! When I come upon it again I go crazy!
Speaking of craft rooms-I have taken some pictures while it was clean and will work on a post tonight! I also have a Magnolia card for tomorrow!

Colors for this image are as follows:
face E000, E01 and R20
Hair E31, E99, E25, E59
pinks: R0000, R20, R22, R24
other, BG0000, E40, E43,C1, C3, C5

Well, have a great Sunday! Hope you can visit tomorrow and thanks so much for coming by today!

Cocoa Christmas!

Hi! I made this card this morning for the Featured Stamper challenge at SCS! I haven't played in awhile, but HAD to today because the FS is my friend, Michele (MitchyGitchyGoomy). She is a great person and a VERY talented artist! This is Tilda Unwrapped. I had her colored up and went through what seemed like tons of dp trying to find THE paper! Do you ever do that? Often I choose the paper first, but this time just colored the image. Well, I finally figured out that I needed to use a cocoa or chocolate to go with my red and green. Then it came together. I'm afraid my pictures are a little dark, but IRL they are deep and rich. (I really love this card!)

I carefully cut out the image even thought there are really skinny parts. You can probably see that I left some white and then just sponged it with some color. I think this works okay on those really difficult images.
The dp is is from a Creative Imaginations pad that I got at Michael's. The regular prices are sometimes ridiculous, but if you can use your coupon it's a bit better. That's what I did! I'm sure that's something all of you know!
My reds are R46 and R59.
Tilda's skin is my usual E0000, E01 and E93
The tan color is E43 and E42, lightened with a little blender and some E0000
The greens are G0000, YG11, G12, and G29
I'm off to post on SCS!
Thanks so much for visiting. If there's ever anything else you'd like to know about a card just let me know. I try to get back and answer any questions!

FS123 Edwin's out to play!

I don't give my Edwins enough chance to get out and play! Today's featured stamper on SCS is Sumtoy. I chose a card she made in April. The link is in my splitcoast gallery, but it had the angled panel and the card had motion. That's what I wanted to CASE. I don't know about you , but it is SO hard for me to angle a panel like this! I think I have a need to make everything nice and square to the card base! Anyone out there like that?
Thanks to Sumtoy for giving me a push out of my box (literally!)!

Lots to show this week! Monday is the Copic Creations Challenge and Wednesday is a Blog Hop for Angel's Landing! Hope you can stop back for a visit!

And...I'm so happy to say that I heard from Linda S. and I have a winner! I'm putting a little package together for her today which includes the Post It notepad and box.
Thanks for playing, Linda!

It is a gorgeous day here in Western New York, a perfect day, in fact and I'm headed to the deck to read for awhile!

FS121 Rox rocks!

Beth is honoring the Queen of the sketch on SCS, Rox, as featured stamper this week! I HAD to play!
This is a stamp by Whipper Snapper called Sophie! She is so darn cute! I bought the wood stamp at my LSS (Buffalo Stamps N Stuff) and tried to color her the way she is colored on the stamp itself. Then came the challenge of dp to use with Rox's great layout. I had this paper by Imaginisce on the couch by me and it seemed to be just fine. The rest was easy peasy!
I colored her with my copis, of course! I didn't write colors down for this one, but I used a technique on the "sidewalk" that we learned at our copic training with Marianne. I colored the area under her feet and wheels with gray and brown, then used the chisel end of my blender pen to pick up color. It has to be held in the area for a few seconds depending on the strength of your blender pen. Neato!
There is lots coming this week! Tomorrow I will have a card for a Challenge team that I am on now-no announcement yet! Wednesday will be the Angel's Landing Summer designers debut!
Friday is something special from Magnolia-licious! Who knows what else will be coming_I'm having a tough time keeping it all straight!
I'm so grateful to be on these teams.
So glad I got to play today on SCS!
Hope you're having a great Sunday!

FS118 Hoppy birthday!

If you came to see yesterday's Tilda, please scroll down.

Hi everyone and welcome!
This card was made for the SCS Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast yesterday!
I used Anna Wight's wonderful Frog made by Whipper Snapper and colored it with my copics.
The dp is from Prima Marketing and is just full of bright colors. I love green and orange together! Reminds me of popsicles in the summertime!
Well, I know this is short (maybe that's a good thing!), but I'm already late for work!
Thanks for stopping by!

FS117 Bee Happy!

Hello there! It's another bright card today! I'm also trying out my new, homemade light "tent" which is a dressed up cardboard box. Now I think I need to work on brighter lighting. Another day! Here's Tilda with her pet bee from the Magnolia spring Kit, but also becoming available as part of the Spring butterfly collection.
I've colored Tilda with copics and used Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango (from SU!) with my Marrakech paper (Basic Grey). Behind Tilda, looking very much like a sun is a pinking circle spellbinder die cut. I don't know how much I'll use these, but with these warm yellow and oranges I thought it was perfect! I maust say to Lisa that I am liking PP and TT a little better!
My card is for the SCS challenge (FS117) today. the honored artist is Sparkle Smith! Congratulations to her! Great name, huh? I used some stickles for sparkle on Tilda's headband and on the bee's wings.
Tilda's hair is E13, 15, and 18.
Yellows and oranges are Y11, Y38, YR16, YR07, and YR18
Aquas and blues are Bg10, B41, Bg13, B24, B37 and B39
A while ago, I said I would look up Kittie's multiloop bow tutorial and the bow I tied today was a reminder to myself to do that.
Here is the link to Kittie's excellent videos on bows: http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/ribbon-tying-tutorials.html

Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments yesterday!! I treasure each one!
Stampin' hugs!

FS110 Ain't She Sweet?

Good morning! It's another sunny day here!
This is the first Tilda I've colored with darker colored skin and I love her! She is so pretty in her spring pink outfit!
When I started the plan was for a pink and white card, but somehow I could not get away from this happy dotted My Mind's Eye paper. So I added some aqua to go with all the pink.
I made this card for the Featured stamper on SCS today-Twinshappy.
I suppose you're wondering about her skin color. I put a post up on the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group and got several answers from wonderful stampin' friends. Here are the links they sent to me.
My stamp is a Tilda from the Pink Collection last October and it came from Diana's Magnolia-licious store.
I used Dierdre's colors for the most part. I colored the cheeks first with RV34 (don't have E32 YET!) Then I colored the skin with E33. I shaded a bit on the edges with E35. I then tried to blend a little with E33. I found that I couldn't blend with the blender because it removes color and I couldn't keep her skin smooth and even. One of these cuties is in the scrap pile. Maybe you'll have better luck. In the end I think she came out okay.
Other colors used are:
R20, R81, R83 and RV34. Her hair colors are E08 (again, I didn't have Dierdre's color, YET!) I dotted both colors on as she suggests and then I used E33 to mix them a bit.
My background oval is cut from an oval nestability. I leave it in the die and use a 1" stencil brush to swirl on color from my PTI Aqua Mist pad.
Thanks for visiting my little creative corner of the web!

FS108

Good afternoon! Here is my card for today's featured stamper on SCS-Kelly H. I found some of her floral cards perfect for CASEing. I chose one from February of this year. The stamp is a new Penny black, stamped on water color paper and watercolored with reinkers. Then I used an oval nestibility for it's shape. I think I use Nesties on all my cards lately!
I sponged the edge of the oval in Apricot. The dp is from My Mind's Eye-Bloom collection and the card base is Ripe Avocado from PTI.
I love the tags that Anna Wight creates and this image certainly needed something across it. That's how I arrived at the button, twine and twill banner.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheryl

p.s. The March sketch has been posted in Diana's store, Magnolia-licious and you are invited to play and send her your card! The great sketch was created by Suzanne Dean. So check the link on my sidebar to see it! My card will be coming in a couple of days!

Pretty in Pink Valentine, FS104

Good morning! What a treat to see the Featured Stamper is BevR! Her work is terrific! I cased the feel and layout of one of her cards, but this is also a very similar layout to a sketch challenge coming soon on Magnolia-licious! What a coincidence!
My card uses Valentine Tilda with envelope and the decorative oval from Alota Rubber stamps. You get 5 ovals and some sentiments in the set! They're really neat for the Tildas to sit in. The dp is Whisper by Prima Marketing and I tried not to cover too much of its beautiful pattern. I used white paper from my Basic Grey Urban Prairie pad for the doily piece. These intricate punches just don't punch card stock well. The solid color back pages on BG 6x6 pads are great for these borders.
I colored Tilda in the following colors:
E00, E02 and R20 for her skin
E31 and E33 for the envelope.
Pinks used on her clothing are R00, R21 , R11, E93 and RV42
When I color (especially her clothing) I always start with the very light shades. You can always make it darker if it's too light.
Thanks for coming to my blog! I really appreciate it!
Have a good day! Cheryl

FS103 Celebrate Vicky!

Good Sunday afternoon!
This card is for today's FS over at Splitcoast, Vicky Gould! She is terrific and leaves such nice comments! I saw several chicken cards in her gallery and found her 'shroom card to get a sketch for my card.
This is a new chicken by Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper. It's really cute, IMO!
I stamped the chick on watercolor paper with Versifine ink, let it dry well and then water colored with SU reinkers. I used my Distress in in Vintage Photo for the edges of the Riding Hood Red and Cosmo cricket dp. The dotted paper is from Bo Bunny. I love to pull in the colors by layering with my Nestabilities and that's what you see here!
Water coloring was certainly my first love (before copics) and I used to use it a lot on cards. It felt really good to go back to it for this image.
Good to have you visit today!

Several photos and BLOG CANDY!

Hello, my friends! I wanted to get this Magnolia card done for this post! Doesn't Tilda look studious! I hope so because this is for my niece who returns to college next week! Her last semester of undergrad! Yeah, Amber! Tilda and the books are both from Magnolia-licious!
The books are on sale right now! The beautiful dp is from Kaisercraft. I couldn't get a picture to show the rich colors! The sun is shining and it was too bright! Believe me, we'll take it!
These are our adorable kittens. They delighted in climbing the Christmas tree and were not posed for this photo in any way! They peeked out at me when I got the camera to try to capture their antics! Charlie is on the left and Violet is on the right! They are 5 months old now and are siblings. Love them!

Here's why you came! This is some of what I'm offering as a happy prize because you helped me reach 10,000 hits in under 3 months! You rock! There are 3 pads of Basic Grey paper, a Martha Stewart punch and Magnolia stamps. You WILL get these (Farmer Tilda, snowflakes and sunflowers) AND another Tilda that I don't have yet! There may be some other additions of ribbon and paper when I start packing the box!
Just leave a comment on this post and I will use Random.org to choose a number at 8:00 p.m. on January 15th.

One more card. I posted this on SCS for today's Featured stamper JaydeKay! She has a terrific gallery and it was hard to decide on one.
Thanks for visiting today! I hope you found something you enjoyed looking at!
Thanks for your support of my efforts by stopping by and commenting! (I hope I have done all of this correctly for my giveaway!)
Have a good evening!

FS100 JulieHRR

Hello!
Just a very quick post today!
It's back to work tomorrow and I have so much I want to get done today-mostly getting cards in the mail to people who have been kind enough to send me cards! I hate always being late! Wish I could make a New Year's resolution, but I don't think it would help!
I also must get a straightening my stamp/craft room! It's awful and I think some things must GO!

Today's card is made for the Featured Stamper on SCS-JulieHRR. She has a fantastic gallery of clean and classic cards.
I used paper that she frequently uses-the dotted. I stamped on white Papertrey Select and colored with copic markers. I used my Nestability to cut the square and the tag (that's a new spellbinders die for me!) You can see it's pretty simply constructed!

For my frog I used copic markers YG03, YG23, YG25 and then YG95. I always use my colorless blender to mix the colors on a piece.

Hope you're having a good day! I know there are lots of teachers dreading tomorrow! It's going to be a LONG week! LOL!
