Relax!

Hello, friends! I have a Whipper Snapper card today that I want to show you! This awesome image is Relax to the Max from Whipper Snapper designs. I loooove it! My friend, Lisa and I each bought when last time we were at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff! I will link her card when I get a chance, because she used some really great 3D techniques on hers. I just had time to color the one image, but I did curve it and use some dimension gel glue behind it.
I just love this chair!
I want someone to draw just a similar chair for some of my Tildas!

Anyway, I did keep the colors for a change and here they are:
chair BG10, Bg72 and BG11
Dog Y21, E30, E97, E99 and just a little of E15
Nose is E33, E25 and E29

I am madly in love with the new My Mind's Eye paper and this one (hands down!) is my favorite-Mabel! I've already bought 3 pads of it! I haven't seen this plaid in the 12" size thought :(

Okay, gotta run! Hope you've had a great week! The weekend is here again already!!
Thanks!! Cheryl

Happy Birthday Gift!

Hi! Here's another simple card for today! I think this one would be fine for a guy! I used some krat card stock that I had dry embossed and sponged to look like wood as the background to my giftie! I knew when I finished that I should have stitched the layers for added interest, but it was tooo late!
I used the Medium sized gift from I Brake for Stamps! This great image comes in three sizes so I linked the page for you to compare sizes.
I you choose to order from I Brake for Stamps, please feel free to use my code SAVE10CHERYL for 10% off your whole order.

Spring Hop-Mini Style!

Hello! The Magnolia-licious team is happy to be back with our monthly blog Hop! Welcome! You are hopping through Spring projects made with Magnolia Minis! If you've come from the blog of the fabulous Barb Hardeman, you are doin'great! You can also go to the Mag Highlites blog for all the details!

This fun little box is a gable box made with an 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock! here is the link to the directions on SPLITCOAST
I always use my Scor-Pal and Scor-tape to score and adhere boxes! The new Scor-Pal has 1/4" score grooves!

Here is the LINK to the whole collection of Mini magnolias but I used the following stamps:
#3027 CHICKEN TILDA, #399 BUNNY TILDA, #517 MINI BENCH, #657 SPRING TREE

My project bases are Pale Plum from SU. To create the scene, I stamped the spring tree on xpress it card stock. On another piece I stamped bunny tilda. Then I masked her and stamped the bench. I cut the bunny and bench out as one piece and adhered it to my tree scene. I used a craft knife to cut the 'holes' in the bench and then my Cutterbee scissors as usual to cut the image out.

I took a lot of pics because I just couldn't seem to get a good one!
And now, dear friends, please hop along to the very talented Suzanne Dean's blog!
I know she has something wonderful to show you!
Huge appreciation that you came by today!

Simple but effective~I hope!

Hello! Hope your weekend is going nicely!
I know your probably came to see what I've colored, but sometimes a girl just has to make a few simple cards to have on hand or so she's not late with birthday wishes! Here are two I've made recently. This one uses an SU background plaid stamp that I have always loved. The flower is a Spellbinders nestability. The embossed background is a Sizzix folder (sorry, I don't know the name) More details below!

I cased Dawn McVey, one of Papertrey Inks designers. The flower center is a freebie (with 11 other circle images) for their recent anniversary celebration. It took some looking to find it so I want to link it up HERE for you if you are interested. Scroll down the post until you see Free download.
I used a white card base, some PTI Hawaiin Shores and SU dotted paper from the Regals collection. The script stamp for the blue is an old one from SU. Wonderful ribbon from S"U finished off the flower.
Thanks for coming by today-I hope you aren't too disappointed-I really love all kinds of 'stamping' and papercrafting. Hope you do too!
Hugs, Cheryl

Love you bear!

This bear has a big heart!! This is the valentine that we sent to one of our great nephews. I thought I'd better post it before the week is over! Acually since I stayed away from heart paper I think it could be used as a 'love ya' card anytime! The card base is a soft yellow, then a layer of kraft and the dp is from a 6 x 6 pack from Making Memories. The stamp is from Whipper Snapper. Whipper Snapper designs are certainly among my favorites to color!
I used E markers for the bear, of course- I start light and just keep going darker in the shadows until I have the color I want. I started with E31 and ended with E29
The reds are R22, R24 and R29.

Thanks for stopping by to look! I really appreciate it!
Wishing you a wonderful day and WEEKEND!!

Celebrate

Hi! As promised, here is my next Magnolia-licious card! I adore the stamps in the You are So Special collection! They are Awesoooome! I've used two for my card~ #294 TILDA WITH BALLOON AND #594 BALLOON BACKGROUND. I'm sorry the balloon background does not seem to be available right now in the store. Just check with Diana~she seems to get "mail" from Sweden almost everyday! In fact she ALREADY has 8 of the new Butterfly Collection IN STOCK for shipment!

So, I used copics to color my card in the following colors:
Skin E000, E11, R30 and E00
Dress: BG10. BG11 and BG72 (I used the BG11 to get a little more green to the color so it matched the paper more closely.
Shoes E31, 34 and 25
Balloon R81, 83 85, and 89
Balloons (green) YG21 adn YG23
Hair E50, Y21 adn E25
I'm not sure about the balance of my card-I wanted a bow in the ribbon, but ran out of pink satin ribbon! The gorgeous paper is My Mind's Eye from last year's Quite Contrary collection. I have lots, but cannot wait to get my hands on the new papers! I'm a paper fiend!!

I used the wonderful FRIDAY SKETCHERS sketch for this card AND I'm so happy to be in time to enter for the week!
Please remember it's not too late to enter for the SUNDAY SENSATIONS PRIZE on Jacque's blog! It's a 25.00 gift certificate!!
Well, I guess I've said enough for this time!
I appreciate that you came by today!

LADYBUG TILDA

Hi! I have seen so many wonderful cards with this adorable Tilda that I had to color up one myself! I used last week's Friday Sketchers challenge sketch, but I was too late when I went to post last night! Oh well, it's a great sketch! This week's is pretty interesting, too, so maybe I'll get a card done sooner! The stamp is #374 LADYBUG TILDA. I'm so sorry that she is out of stock right not. I think I got her after Valentine's day last year, but am so happy to have her this year! Keep an eye on the Magnolia-lcious store! Diana will be uploading pics of the new Butterfly collection for preorder very soon! I can't wait! The rich red designer paper is also from Magnolia-licious from the Merry Little Christmas pack. It's a great match for the Su Cherry Cobbler (my fav red!) paper
I used copic to color my image, of course! The reds are R22, R24, R27 and R29. The "black" is all fromthe Cool Grey family. I always start with my light color first so this one started with C1 and I kept adding color and reblending with C1 until I was happy with the shade. The "tummy is E30.
I wanted to put some flowers where the buttons are, but my selection of flowers is not what I wish is was and I had no time to make something. I DO have lots of buttons and I love them so I am happy with the end result. The die is Spellbinders Labels 5.
Thanks so much for coming by today! Have a great Friday! Yippee, the weekend is here!

Heart Quilt!

Hello! Calling all quilters and stitchers or those (like me) who just LOVE quilts! Isn't this a great stamp?! This is HEART QUILT from I Brake for Stamps. I've linked to the whole page because there are MORE! My card base is black, then a layer of white, blushing bride and then the main image which is stamped on XPress it.
A close up of the quilt. The hearts are R24, R27 and R29. The quilt was colored in solid with R22 and then I used a little orange (don't remember which one~maybe YR16) and blended with the R22. I think you can tell how the orange is laid into the corners of the blocks.
You know I like making simple A2 cards, so I just tied some white satin around my image and added the layers mentioned above.
The image has lots of possibilities! Can't you just see it in red, white and blue! Or in spring colors? There are also so many places for you to add sparkle!
If you go to I Brake for Stamps to shop you can use my code SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% off your whole order.
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on my card posted Tuesday! I still have not heard from CRICKET on the card and stamp so I may be choosing another reader soon!
Stay tuned!
Thanks much! Cheryl

Here's my Heart Tilda and a winner!

Hello! Thanks for all the nice comments yesterday! Today's card is a Magnolia-licious image from the You Are So Special collection! It has such awesome stamps! This one is #3008 TILDA WITH HEART. I'm a little stuck on pink lately, so pink it was! The cutting, background and card style were all inspired by the Featured Stamper on SCS. I started with a white card base and cut the edge with my Magnolia Doo hickey cutting die.

I used some paper from a K & Co pad I picked up at Michaels and matched it to some Bo Bunny double dot paper. Since I was using a simple layout I decided some stitching was in order. I stitched around the inside panel as well. The pink edge shows when the card is closed. Look, I even stitched the oval!

It's fun sometimes to cut and leave a tiny bit of white around the edge.
Besides the Splitcoast Stamper challenge my card fits some other challenges out there this week.

Here they are:
Just Magnolia week 92 ribbon
AND, NOW, FINALLY~ a WINNER! Out of 54 entries, Random.org chose number SIX!!
That would be CRICKET! Cricket, please contact me at the following email address with your snail mail address and THANKS!! Cricket has won a card and a Magnolia-licious stamp because she left a comment on this post-Token of Love
If I don't hear from Cricket by Friday at noon, I'll be choosing someone else.
I very much appreciate that you stopped by today! Thank you so much and have a GREAT day!

The Thing sWe Love~ Blog Hop!

Hello! The "Things we Love hop is sponsored by Paper Makeup Stamps and the fabulous design team members each invited a guest to participate and to celebrate that Paper Makeup Stamps is turning TWO!! I'm happy to say I'm the guest of Lisa Kind for the blog hop! Thanks so much for asking, Lisa! If yu've come here from her blog you're right on track! The beginning is at the Paper Makeup Stamps blog where you can also find the details on the fabulous prize being given!
PAPER MAKEUP STAMPS

I love the Dinosaur images that Dustin Pike has make for Paper Makeup Stamps! All are available in digi form or red rubber! This is Bronto and while he makes a great birthday card for a child, I think he also makes a great Valentine card! I think he looks 'smitten' with someone! Maybe it's you!
I colored Bronto with my copic markers and then used the blender to remove color in the shape of hearts all over him. They didn't show up well enough for me so I outlined them with my white gel pen. He is also outlined in some sparkle and I added those champagne colored heart gems to show he has love on his mind! My dp is from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is an old one.

Here's the Misty Linky for you:

If the Misty Linky doesn't work (because I have no idea what I'm doing!) Please continue the hop at the next designer blog! I'm sure Randee has a wonderful project to show you! Randee's Rendezvous

Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!

One cool cat...umm...bear!

Hello and Happy Friday! I don't mean to wish time away, but I'm so glad it's the weekend again! I want to show you the card I made for the Copic Creations Challenge. The challenge is to use your cool copic markers! I know, they're all pretty cool, but we mean the cool colors! You can find details and lots of inspiration on the Copic Creations Blog!
You can play along (until Feb. 14) for a chance to win 25 pounds from Lili of the Valley!! That's a great prize!
I have loved Lili of the Valley for awhile now, since a friend (Michele) told me about them. I just had to have a couple of James the Bear! I know everyone is so 'over' making winter cards, but I just had to ink him up!

My cool colors are BG10, BG15 and BG49 for his scarf and hat.
This will be my last post as a member of the Copic Creations Team. I just love all the girls and Mary G is a great leader. I just seem to have trouble keeping up! A big MWAH to the whole team and thanks for everything! Love ya!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs, Cheryl
Oh, one more thing, you have one more day to comment on THIS POST for a chance to win a card (made by me) and a Magnolia stamp. It's my mini blog candy, just for fun!

Poppy Collage

Good morning! (Well, it's morning where I am, anyway!) I just love the vintage and collage style cards I see around on blogs! But, I'm not very good at making them. With this stamps from I Brake for Stamps the work was done for me!

The stamp is POPPY TILE COLLAGE. My mom and her sister (my Aunt Helen) would love this one! They were both crazy about orange and green! My mom loved when the poppies came out in June!
The whole stamp is about 4-1/2 in square (check link for exact measurements, please). Once I colored it I wanted some dimension to it. Instead of stamping and coloring another image as one would usually do, I just used my craft knife and a ruler to cut along the lines of the image. With the 'poppy box' cut out I mounted it on black and raised it on dimension pieces. With the black mounting my edges beneath don't show! Finally, because I thought it needed something else I added the small black pearl to each corner and some vintage photo distress stickles to the center of my poppy.
thanks so much for stopping by today! Please remember you can comment on the post below for a chance to win a card I've made and a Magnolia stamp.
Have a great day!

Token of Love

Hello! It's the first of the month and time for a new challenge at Magnolia-licious. Everyone is away at CHA (not me!), but Patti Jo has challenged us to use Pink, White, Hearts and Silver on our cards! No problem! And you have the whole month to enter!
There are so many great stamps in the new You Are So Special collection at Magnolia-licious! Of course, I picked one that doesn't seem to be in stock, but I'm certain it is on reorder! It is number 308 TILDA WITH MANY HEARTS.
I've tried and tried to get a clear photo for you! I need a new camera and lighting system! My apologies for the some what blurry photos!

I used Making Memories Gossamer papers. Patti Jo said we could use green as needed for leaves, but I pushed it a little and pulled the green from the papers onto my image. Just a little, okay Patti? I used the R family for my pinks-R81, 83, 85 and 89. Can you see the silver-it's a little token that Diana sent us last year and I hadn't used!

I'll link the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog though I don't see the details just yet! I know they will be there when Suzanne gets a chance to post them. I'm sure there must be a prize for playing along! I would like to give something away too! If you leave a comment I'll send you a card (by me) and a Magnolia stamp! (TBD!) I'll choose a winner on Saturday morning, Feb 5, Eastern Time. I will mail internationally!
Now, for some other business! My card also fits TWO other challenges!
Thanks for visiting today! (Snowstorm coming our way, in case you keep track of Western NY weather!)
Have a wonderful day! Cheryl
