Turquoise!

Well, it's STILL snowing in Western New York! I'm okay with it because I finished TWO cards this morning and I want to show you both of them! This is an image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I'm so sorry I can't find it in her store. It was one of the freebies on Paper Craft Planet when she reached a milestone in memberships. I'm not sure what number, but you may be able to find it there for FREE! I love the paper on this card. I saw them first on Paulabella's blog.
My touch was to add the homemade chipboard buttons. I used the Sizzix button die that I got from SU, cut them from Cool Caribbean and cardboard then glued them together and sponged the edges with Teal. After that I tied yellow embroidery floss through them. Neat!
Mo's wonderful illustration is colored with copics-I think this kid's mom owns Geranimals! Even his sneakers match!! And the dog collar!
(I'm lovin' Cool Caribbean with Teal and Kiwi green! More to come with this combo!! You betcha!

This quickie card is one I made to mail to a friend of ours who fell and broke his hip. They have two new Golden puppies so I made the dog all yellow.
Wishing him a speedy recovery!
Thanks so much for coming by! Coming soon will be the Copic Creations challenge AND the Magnolia-licious March monthly challenge which is a fab sketch by our Jacque!
Enjoy your day! I'm off to dig the car out for a trip to the Post office-blog candy to get in the mail!

Christmas in Feburary Blog Hop!

So glad you came by today! It's alreaday the 25th again and time for Julie's Christmas card challenge! If you happened here first you can start the hop at Julie's blog so you don't miss anything!
My card has a burgunday card base, then a layer of mellow moss. After that is some dotted paper from the scrap bin and the green is another scrap paper (Graphic 45). I just didn't know what to use so I decided that was a good reason to use up a couple of scraps! I just got this garden trellis (Martha Stewart) punch and though I know it will be great on spring and summer cards I just couldn't wait to use it! (This is sort of like a bride-something old, something new!)

Tilda is colored with my copics.
Colors used are Eooo, Eo1 and R20 for skin
E33, E99, E15 and E29 for hair
YG93, YG95 and YG97 for the tree and dress
R29, R46 and R59 for her blouse
E42 for her apron.
E31, E25 and E15 for her boots.
YR21 and Y35 for her halo and sparkle
W00, W1 and W2 for surround

so sorry for the early post!!
Your next stop is over to Playing with color to see what Deb has for you!
Enjoy the hop and the day!

LLWWC27 is a SKETCH!

I love sketch challenges! They force me to make a card that looks a little different than the same old thing! This is Whiskers Sleeping . I hope you'll go to the blog to see the sketch and play along!
Here's the link to Lala Land Crafts Blog. Our sketch was created by Kathy!
My card base is chocolate, then a layer of Yellow. The dps are from Basic Grey, Origins collection.
My copics marker colrs are Y21, Y24 and a little E08 for Whiskers.
The chick is Y21 and Y16
The pillow is YG01 and YG25 with E33 and E25, E29 for the chocolate stripes.
I think this little chick thinks Whiskers is its' mother!!
I used some primas and chocolate pearls for embellishments and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

This is my final post as a Guest Designer for Irina at Lala Land Crafts! I have really enjoyed my two months working with Irina and her great team! Thank you ALL so much!!

Please, if you have time, head over to the blog, grab the sketch and see what you can come up with then enter the link with Mr. Linky on the blog!! We'd love to have you use Lala Land Stamps, but it's not a requirement.

Before I go, I want to say that the CB folder on the bunny card below is called VICTORIA.
A Nasty Rag is one you use to put Copic blender solution on and dab onto a copic colored picture for fur or other texture. I used it on my last Copic Creation Challenge project-egg basket. Thanks for asking!
Have a great day!

What's Cookin'? (And a winner!)

Happy Monday, dear friends!! Well, it's back to work for me today after a week of Winter break and I'm trying to convince myself it's a happy Monday!

I had a great weekend-got to shop with my friend Lisa, had time to stamp, nap and had two cards listed in the Favorites gallery on SCS on Sunday and Sunday dinner with some of my family. Can it get any better? Nope!

I hope the weekend also held good things for you and I thank you for visiting today!

I adore this cupboard and Tilda and this is the first time they've been inked!
They are both available at Magnolia-licious! Chef Tilda is #391 and the Kitchen is #628.

I didn't save my colors, but I know Tilda's chef suit is E42 and the reds are R24, R46

The browns are E33, E25 and E59 mainly. I'm going to add some Crystal Effects on the glass pieces which are colored with BG000.

And now I have a winner of a Magnolia stamp, some other stuff and a card made by me. Random.org chose comment number #99.
This comment belongs to KYM KREATES ! KYM, please contact me with your address at drowley6@stny.rr.com so I can mail your prize! Thanks very much!

Thanks,
Cheryl

FS159 CAS CASE AND a WINNER!!

Hello!! I just had to join in on the Featured Stamper challenge today! She had this terrific clean and simple card that shouted out to me!

My great stampin' friend, Lisa and I were just at our LSS on Friday. I had this stamped picked up to purchase AGAIN!! Yep, I remembered in time that I (thought) I had it at home already. Lisa agreed and I was so pleased to find it quickly when I got home! This bunny is so cute, but I don't need TWO!!

Now I had a whopping 269 comments on my card for Mo's Celebration Blog hop (post HERE) last Tuesday so here is my winner of this image:

# 105 It's Jilli of Jilli's Paiges!
Jilli would you please contact me at drowley6@stny.rr.com
so I can get your address!? Congratulations!!

I also have a Magnolia-licious prize to give away! See this post:
HERE
I have a Magnolia card tomorrow, so that winner will be posted tomorrow!
I'm so grateful for all my new (and former) followers! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
See you tomorrow! Have a great day/evening!

Birthday Unwrapped!

Whooo Hooo, It's Friday! The weekend is here!
I'm meeting my friend, Lisa this morning to visit our LSS, which is over an hour away from where I live! The owner is just terrific so I usually make a card to take to her. This is the card I'm taking to Sharon today! I love how others have taken this Christmas image and re purposed her!
I used the following colors on her, Unwrapped Tilda available at Magnolia-licious
Hair- Y21, E97, E99, E29
Box E43, E25, E50
Pinks-R000, R81, R83, R85 and R89
Blue/Green BG0000, BG01, BG13
To distress the pinks and blues I added a little E43 and E42 on top and then blended with R000 and BG0000 respectively.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

More Mo!

ETA: I sort of remember hearing that because of the big party for Mo's Digital Stamps on Tuesday that our Blog Hop was canceled, but when I got the reminder on Yahoo yesterday I went with it! Sorry for any confusion. My links WILL NOT take you to a blog Hop!

Hello and Happy Thursday! My week off from school is flying by! book club Monday was terrific and since then I have spent time at home puttering-some cleaning, organizing and creating! However, Mina's challenge for our monthly Blog Hop escaped my memory until the reminder came tonight! Mina challenged us to use "Reds, Pinks and Hearts" If you came here from Suzanne's Blog, you are on the right track for our hop.
I quickly colored up this adorable Shy Valentine Lila in deep reds! (Not all all sure about the red socks!) I used the same reds as on the Lala card (Lotus) yesterday, R24, R46 and R59. The aqua is a touch of BG000 and her skin is E000, E01 and R20 on her cheeks. Her shoes are C3, C5, and C9. I used W00, W1 around the image. Then I sponged some Soft Sky and Baja Breeze around the image.
You know, I am most fond of the simple layouts ( I am VERY embellishment challenged!) . I really like showing cards you could make yourself! This card is very mailable too!
And now, I would love for you to travel on to Kerttu's blog to see the beauty she's created!
I'm so happy that I'm meetin' up with my stampin' buddy, Lisa, for some retail craftin' therapy and chat! The highlight of my week!
Hope your day is fabulous!

LLWWC26 is all about RED!

Hi to all of you! Well, yesterday was a busy day, but aren't they all!? Todays Lala Challenge, in honor of Chinese New Year is to use RED as the predominant color on your card. No problem, right! This is Lotus and she definitely has an exotic look to her! I'm not very good with different skin tones, but she could be used for many different looks, IMO. I used Graphic 45 paper from my stash to go with her red outfit. I used R24, R46 and R59 to color her clothes and E42 for the neutral color. I used E33, E25, E59 and E49 for her hair.

So, we would love for you to participate this week. Please use any images you would like, but if you have Lala Land Craft images we would love to see those on you card. Details are on the Lala Land Craft Blog

You can also leave a comment on each of the posts below. The prize-a Mo's digital Pencil Image (Tuesday's post) and something from Magnolia (Monday's post).
thanks for checking out the Cottage today! Hope you're having a good week!

It's the Bestest Blog Hop!

Hi! This little mite, Angelina was my choice for favorite Mo image (this week!) to enter in our blog hop celebration! If you want to be sure you don't miss a thing you can start at Jak's Blog,
I know the other designers have worked so hard to show you something special! If you've come here from Kerttu, you're right on track! I ended up rushed due to other commitments, so put my all into the coloring and the rest of the card is quite simple. The ribbon is from a little bag of candy from one of my students for Valentine's Day! I save everything! Do you?
Okay, now you need to know that my letter is S
You may want to jot that down and then head over to Lisa Cook's blogto take a look at her fab creation and be sure to get her letter!
Once you've figured out the phrase you will email it directly to Mo at
party@mosdigitalpencil.com by Midnight on Friday! There are LOTS of prizes being given away!
I'm giving away this Angelina image ! Please leave a comment by Friday at noon and I will pick my winner using Random.org
I also have blog candy from yesterday's post if you care to comment before moving on.
thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day!

Two Projects today!

I don't usually do double posts but this is a busy week! Lots to make and show so I'm glad you came by! If you started here and don't want to miss anything you may want to visit our excellent Suzanne's blog now. If you've arrived from the superior Sharon you're doing great! I'm at the end of the hop so feel free to check out the link to Diana's wonderful store on my sidebar! Our Design Team blog hop today is to feature some pop up cards we've made! So here is mine. It is called a Spring Card and the directions (easy!) are in the Resources section at SCS! I've seen so many terrific cards made with Tilda with bow and I had to get in the act with Spring colors! My lavendar colors are BV000 and BV02 with a little darker lavendar that I can't remember right now. The pinks are R81 and R83. Her sleeves are YR000 and YR21. Her hair is E33, YR21 and E25.
This second card is for the Copic Creations challenge. This time we are sponsored by DZDoodles digital images and I love my basket of eggs! I have quite a number of birdhouses, nest and eggs that I decorate with in the spring. My favorites are actually the "natural" ones so that's the look I went for. I used the nasty rag on my eggs and added some dots for the look I wanted. But, our challenge is...

to color embellishments! Yep, with our copics! I colored some PTI twill ribbon (it was cream). I also colored the blue buttons and even the twine in the white button. They are all colored with BG72 and the buttons have a mottled apearance like the egg. The sketch is a MoJo Monday one.
This card says Spring to me and it could be for Easter, too!
I will have a few more pictures of this card tomorrow with our Mo's digital Pencil blog hop! We are celebrating 1000+ members on PCP and I don't think you'll want to miss the event!
If you have any questions about these cards, please don't hesitate to ask!
Have a great day! I will-it's our Winter Break from school!
Cheryl
Forgot to add, YES, I will be giving SOMETHING away. Not sure what, but definitely a Maggie card and a Maggie stamp!
Just leave a comment! I love, love, love reading them! Maybe youi can tell me the weather where you are today! (We're weather buffs here!) THANKS!

Magnolia-licious Wiper Card

Good morning! I hope you are well this Friday morning!
I finished my wiper card on Thursday night as well as my post! Yeah! First I colored the scenery oval that I knew I wanted to use then had to figure out how to use it! I created my card base from Kraft. It is my go to color when I'm not sure what I'm doing!
I made my card front 4 3/4" tall x 5 1/2" long. Otherwise I followed the directions on the Scor-Pal site. (Waving to Diane-the author!)
I figured the placement of the oval and went through my Maggies for images to use. I came up with this Tilda from the Chasing Butterflies collection, my trusty bench and some flowers from a Magnolia kit last year. Then to my paper packs where I didn't have to look too long to find Basic Grey paper in a small print. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
I hope you like this effort. I see more possibilities for the oval scene-like on a St Paddy's card!
Listing colors of markers and some links below!
Thanks so much! Have a great weekend!

happy Heart's Day!

Hi again! This is a fun valentine that is a definite case from the fabulous Debbie Olson of Thinking Inking! I ALWAYS love her designs (and, yes, case quite a few of them!)
My stamps are Papertrey Ink and the Pink is PTI hibiscus. Lots of stickles on the hearts!
TOMORROW I will finally have my Magnolia-licious February challenge card-the windshield wiper! I've used FIVE images in my card, that is not quite put together yet! If you are looking for inspiration for yours today please check out the Magnolia challenge blog to see Jacque's, Becca's and Suzanne's (they are more "on the ball" than I am!
Thanks for coming by-see you tomorrow!

LLWWC25 is all about....

No DP! Lisa has given us (and YOU!) the challenge of making a card using no DP! You, know the "old fashioned" way!
Remember when we all used to stamp a background with a large stamp or repeated small ones? That's fun to do sometimes, but I opted for the Cuttlebug folder, Snowflakes. I certainly was not one of the first to have a CB. I kept reading about it and wondering what in the heck it was! Once I took the plunge I have never looked back! I still love it and it fits on the stand where I work. No Big Shot or Wizard for me, at least not YET!
Anyway, I used Winter Lala for my card and some of the great SU Bermuda Bay with Kraft and white card stock. Please check out the Lala Land Blog for the designers gorgeous projects! You can also find the details for how you can join in with us!
Have fun!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Papertrey meets Rich Razzleberry and it's LOVE!

Hi friends! I'll make this a quick post and then it's off to work!
I used Papertrey Ink's Heart prints and the Hearts design from this year with PTI paper and with SU's Rich Razzleberry card stock and ink to create this card.

It is actually a case of the Featured Stamper from Sunday that I made a couple of weeks ago. I love the cleanness of this and that it could be reproduced in so many colors and for any occasion!
Hope you like it, too!

There is lots going on this week!
Today:
Take a look at this free digi from Motivet! Such a cute kitten for FREE!!
Tomorrow:
The Lala Land Weekly Wednesday challenge is up!
Coming up soon: A celebration for Mo's digital pencil! Mos has reached 1000+ members on PaperCraft Planet! There is a new free digi to celebrate this awesome number! AND there will be a party next week! With prizes! Details coming soon! Link to Mo's store is on my sidebar. You can then travel to PCP or to her blog to check out what's going on! Cupid Tilda-Sweet or Siren?

Good Monday morning! Where DID the weekend go? I had lots of time to create, but the time does fly!! Here's the Mag card I finished yesterday. I'm not sure if she's a sweetie or a siren in these hot colors! The heart frame is from AlotaRubber stamps. Diana carries some of their images and they go perfectly with the Magnolia images. I don't see this one (which comes in a set) right now, but feel free to check with her on it! She always goes the extra mile for anyone! The link to Magnolia-licious is HERE! Tilda and the hearts are colored in the same copic reds; R20, R21, R22, R32 and R24. Her skin is E000, E01 and R20 is on her cheeks. Her hair and pitchfork are E31, E33, E25, E99 and E59
I'm sure you can see that I added stickles on the hearts and on her wings. The paper is last year's Valentine paper from Cosmo Cricket. I sponged the heart oval with Distress Tea Dye because it was just too bright!
Hope you have a great day and week! I appreciate your visit!

Chocolate Chip Cupcake!

I love today! I love that without the inspiration of Barbara (FS157 on SCS today!) this card would NEVER have been created! I love that it is another bright and chilly day here in WNY! I love that thought the pictures aren't the sharpest I could take them in natural light! Oh, yes, and like Bar I LOVE Papertrey Ink and especially the Button bits stamps! What I don't love-that I goof up on my stitching! I keep hoping practice will make me better, but in the meantime you have to look at my trials! I don't love that this is the last button I can tie with my terrific string that is like darning thread, I guess. It's perfect, I tell ya! It doesn't separate like embroidery floss and isn't stiff like twine. I string it on a needle and "sew" the button. BUT, one of the cats must have taken off with my little ball and I cannot find it ANYWHERE!!
The copic colors for my copics are Y21, YR32 and YR24 for the "paper" and BG000, BG10 and BG72 for the "frosting". The leaves are YG21, YG95 and a touch of YG97. The sprinkles are glitter class-they look like sugar! Love that, too!
Thanks (as always!) for visiting the Cottage today! Off to work on a Magnolia card for tomorrow! (And a Mo Manning for one day this week and Lala for the Weekly Wednesday Challenge! Busy! How about you?

Chilly Love!

Hello friends! I've made this winter card, but can you see the spring colors sneaking in? I'm so getting ready for soft yellow, pinks and blues! How about you? I saw this image (Motivet) first when Claudia (Pretty Pressings) made a nearly all white card with it! It was frosty and beautiful!
Well, I ordered it and colored it up pretty quickly then couldn't decide on papers! These MME papers came a couple of weeks ago and when I flipped to the back side the colors were perfect!
A couple of fresh snowflakes with my Spellbinders dies and a card was born!!
We have a beautiful, sunny, but chilly day here in snow country while to the east it is snowing like crazy! Sorry, but I'll take the weather in Western New York! We aren't "out of the woods" yet though, there's more winter to come!
I'm sure the copics are in the Cool family and the aqua is BG 10 and BG72, but I'm not sure about the reds and yellows. Sorry!
Going back to color a little more in my bright room!
Thanks for stopping and have a super day and evening!

PTI and Friday!

Hi! A quick post this morning because I'm not going to rush off to work! I usually get there about 7:30, but, Hey, it's Friday, right? Anyway, if this card looks familiar it's because it is a shameless case of one of Nichole Heady's cards when this set (Baby Button Bits) was released. I colored my flowers in her suggested colors for Lemon Tart, Terra Cotta Tile and Ripe Avocado. She has a color sheet you can print out with 3 colors (copics) to match her paper and ink colors. I refer to it often!
I did change her card a bit by including stitching and the apron punch at the bottom of the feature, as well as the sentiment.
These would be easy to create in numbers for gift sets.
The weekend is here so I will have more time to color images (like Magnolias!) I do love to color!
I see I have lost a couple of followers and I always feel bad when that happens. I'm sorry.
Thank you for visiting though! I do appreciate it.
Have a great day and weekend!

Lala Land has hearts for you!

Hello and welcome to another Lala land Weekly Wednesday Challenge! This is # 24, hosted by the very talented Kristine. Our challenge is to use hearts of any kind on our card!

I just couldn't resist using Lala with Heart again! She is so fun to color and this time I made her a blue eyed blond. You can see the rest of the DT cards at the Lala Land Crafts blog.
We'd love for you to join us in the challenge this week! You don't have to use Lala stamps (but if you have them we'd love to see what your create!).
The colors of copics I used are as follows:
skin E000, E01, R20

Hair Y21, YR31 and YR24
dress: R20, R22 and R24
shoes E33 and E25
Thanks so much for stopping by on this middle of the week day!

Bella Flower pots

Good morning and thanks for visiting today! I really appreciate all the great comments from yesterday's card and my craft room pictures! Thank you! Believe me it is not always that neat! Usually it's dp all over as I try to choose which one to use and don't want to forget about any!
My copic holders came from Overstock.com on the recommendations of Kerry Donovan-Casey. I love them! I'll try to find the link and post it below. I admire the Bellas of Stamping Bella ,so the coloring on this flowerpot is a CASE of Paula Tracy's at paper possibilities. I printed out her card and studied it for colors! Then I used my Papertrey polka dots to stamp in Spring Rain on Spring Rain card stock. I made a set of 6 of these for a friend for her birthday.

I just spent 10 minutes on Overstock looking for the copic storage and can't find it! Kerry, if you read my blog, can you help me out?
If you look for the cupboards at Lowe's check back in the laundry storage area.

Thanks for dropping by! Have a super day!

Tilda has a letter! (and craft room pics, finally!)

Hello and how are you? Here's more pink for this week! This time it's Summer Tilda (#370)from Magnolia-licious sitting on that lacy envelope. Again, the card is quite simple. The base is Pink Pirouette from SU! The next layer is basic grey from last year. The brown dotted is Bo Bunny double dot. The small crocheted flower was made by my friend, Sharon. She gave me about 6 and I use them sparingly! I'm sorry, I didn't keep a list of the colors on this one, but here she is close up.
And, finally, as promised here are pics of my craft room. The room is 9' x10" and have I got a lot packed into it!

This is Violet on my desk looking out the front window-one reason there needs to be a towel there! The other reason is Charlie!

The brown shelf holds my SU card stock. The white one holds embellishments.
I have this old cabinet from my mom's kitchen for my Cuttlebug. It needs to be refinished-someday! the large cupboard and open shelf hold all kinds of stuff! Drawers below have alterables and stamp sets I use frequently. Notebooks hold my beloved Magnolia stamps!

I bought the bench for storage from Penney's and it's a place to sit when hubby comes to visit me here!
I hope to be able to set my light box on it when I take photos, eventually!

My awesome 19" TV on the wall! Love it!

Another picture of my desk and you can see my black floral rug. Love it!
And back to the other cupboard with my closet door. Lots of stuff in there and once in a while a cat climbs to the top shelf!
The movie camera on top of the cupboard is my dad's Brownie. He took so many movies when we were kids! We laugh because we also have movies of his rose gardens!

And that's my tour. I love my little room. Thanks to Suzanne Dean for the tip on where the white cabinets came from when she did her room-Lowe's!
Have a good Monday! See you soon!
Hugs, Cheryl
