Magnolia-lcious Challenge!

The challenge is to make an easel card which turned out to be easy and fun! I think my difficulty was being torn between my wonderful Halloween images and all the terrific Winter and Holiday cards I'm seeing! I decided to forego the monochromatic part of the challenge and do a Halloween card.
Perhaps you saw the ones that Claudia (my stampin' hero!) made using the Easter window and this same paper? They are wonderful cards and I fully admit to stealing her idea! I put the window with Tilda with Kitten (available at Magnolia-licious) and also used the bat, both pumpkins and the spider!
So I've also channeled the wonderful Sharon Caudle and Jacque Beddingfield and made a scene card!
I think this little Tilda looks like a witch in training!
It is gloomy here, but I persisted in taking outdoor pictures so I've posted many hoping for a decent one!

I'll keep the rest short! Here are the colors I used:

Skin E000, E01, and E93

C1, C3, C5 and C00 for her dress

W1, W3, W%, W00 and C9 for the window as well as BG0000, Bg10, Bg72

Y21, Y17, YR65, YR16 Y0000, E99

Hair Y21, E17, E99 and E25

I guess that's it for now! I'm off to start cleaning the attic and throwing away stuff not needed!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Not our weather, but Jacque's sketch! Thanks, Jacque it is terrific and fun to work with! This is the Magnolia-licious sketch for July. I couldn't seem to get the sketch transferred here, but I hope you'll check it out on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog with the other designers creations!
I had to work the sketch a little bit to fit the large Magnolia row boat! And I used one instead of three embellishments in the upper right. My stamps are all from Diana at Magnolia-licious! She has great prices and special sales and surprises in your package if you belong to our Magnolia-lcious Yahoo group. The link to join is on the store site. Please use her search box to find stamps and if you have any trouble email her (or me!) and we'll help. Besides the rowboat, the sun, sentiment and, of course, the Tilda are from Diana's store.

I have written the colors down for this one and will give them below.

If you own some copics there is help out there for colors to put together. I've printed out Nicole Heady's color matches for her colors (she has them in a great format-doesn't she think of everything!?). BUT, I have not used any of her paper colors for this card. In other words, her copic matches are just great to use to match SU (or any other) colors! Thanks, Nicole!

Anyway, here are the colors I used

See what I mean? I used her colors as a starting point and changed where I needed.

My dp is Basic Grey, Lime Rickey (specifically-Shirley Temple) and my beloved Bo Bunny double dots with SU Pumpkin and Pomegranate and Black. My images are stamped on Papertrey white select. My sentiment is brushed with my 1" stencil brush in pumpkin and pomegranate.

Well, this may not be a patriotic colored card, but I am one grateful American today! God Bless America! Happy 4th of July to us all!

Summer Notes Blog Hop!

Yeah! It's Friday and today is the day for the Magnolia-Highlites Summeer Notes Blog Hop!
Here's my project made from a design by Bridgett Owens! It's for a note pad holder and a little box to match! What a cute little gift! You can find her tutorial HERE! I used Cosmos Cricket L'il Man and My Minds Eye Bloom and Grow on mine. I just love Orange and Aqua. My box is made from Kraft, such a great neutral color. The image is Spring Tilda and the flower is also from Magnolia-licious.
I used Stampin' Up ribbon for the handle. It looks like the box is lined but it isn't. I just added a piece of dp around the edge to cover the ribbon ends for a more finished look. Images are colored with copic markers, of course!

More swaps from April 25

Good morning! Hope your day is going well! Before work I wanted to show you my 3D sway from our excellent WNY Springfest this past weekend. I covered one of those tiny legal pads. You get them at WalMart in a 3 pack for 1.47. I used my Tilda with bee colored with copics and because she needed a background I used Bo Bunny's double dot paper in my NEW nestabilities shape.

I think the project is pretty self explanatory. That didn't seem like enough to swap so I also made this tag with Lisa Rapp's flower. (I LOVE, love, love these!)

Now, while I'm here I also want to thank my friend, Diane (cookiestamper) for this award. She is a very talented designer for All That Scraps. Now she's moved into designing stamps and has several sets for sale already! I understand there is a new release this Sunday. The link to her blog is on my sidebar. Please check out her work! Tilda with Puppy

Good morning! I finished this card early this morning and wanted to get it posted before I'm off to do some outside work. Of course, you recognize Tilda with Puppy from the Love Collection. She is adorable! You may have seen this card by the talented Kelly Lunceford (atomic butterfly) yesterday:

I completely copied her use of the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper! She put these patterns together so beautifully! I think she may have started with this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

I just HAD to use these colors with Tilda!

LSC204 Basic Black

Well, Tilda isn't in Basic Black, but the card is! This is for the Limited Supply Challenge on SCS yesterday! What a great one! Black really does make the colors POP! I had to take my dew drops off and alter them by putting a white punched dot under them so their color shows. I wish I'l have thought to do this first because it did get a little messy looking! In other words, please don't look too closely!
I used Real Red sponged with distress Walnut Stain to darken it behind the Cosmo Cricket (Chemistry) paper and behind Tilda. I used my stencil brushes and Adirondack inks in Cranberry and Butterscotch to make the background behind her.
The letters on the tag are made with an Alphabet set from Papertrey Ink. Tiny little things!
Tilda is colored with copic markers and I punched the leaves from Kiwi Kiss and sponged them with Walnut too. The Hydrangeas are from Prima and the ribbon is from my stash!
The whole card is a little more striking in real life, but I'm photographically challenged!

Tilda Valentine for January sketch

Well, it's almost the end of our Christmas break so what was I to do today? Create something, of course!

I made this card to go with the Magnolia-licious January sketch (see one post down for ALL the details!

I've been very stuck on brown lately, this time I paired it with coral colors. It also includes many of My Favorite Things so I think it qualifies for today's Limited Supply challenge on SCS.

I use a Martha Stewart flower, Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket papers, my cuttlebug with embossing and Nestabilities and Magnolia stamps!

Here are the copic colors I used: Face, hands and legs E00, E02 and R20 for cheeks. Hair E31, E35, E37 and a touch of E51. Yellows Y17 and Y38. The pinks, reds, and corals are listed from light to dark. They are R11, R20, RV42, R22 R32, R35, R29, R59.

oh, yes, the Tilda is from the Pink collection and I was inspired by Claudia to use the bench on my card! Thanks, Claudia!

New Year's Tilda for FS99

Hi everyone! I had colored one of these Tildas to use on a card today. Then I saw the Featured stamper on SCS and was inspired to also make an altered tin. I didn't have anything to fill it so I lined the box in Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red cardstock. Here's the inspiration piece that I used. thanks, Barbara (stampfilleddreams)!
My card uses the wonderful new paper by Cosmo Cricket called Chemistry. Great colors and patterns, but they don't scream Valentine's Day, so you can use them for other things. the border punch is a Martha Stewart lattice work punch. To make the background behind Tilda I swirl color on my white nestability shape with a stencil brush. Adirondack inks in Cranberry and Butterscotch give this great coral color. I LOVE it!

The Tilda is colored the same way. On the the tin I also used the awesome Basic Grey paper Bittersweet and Urban Prairie. The ribbon is Berry Sorbet from Papertrey Ink.

Copic colors used are shades of brown-E31, E33, E35, E37 and E47.

Pinks and corals include Eoo and E02 for her face with R20 fro cheeks

The others are R11, R42, R32, R35 and R29.

Her hair starts with Buttercup yellow and I add a little brighter yellow and then some of my browns to it. I'm not crazy about the blond hair I make, still trying to find the right combo.

A Magnolia-licious Challenge!

Good morning! It's back to work for me today! But not before posting this card I made for Diana's Magnolia-licious challenge!

Claudia designed the sketch for the challenge. She is head of the Magnolia-licious design team and is SOOO deserving!

My card recipe:

The base is Papertrey white, then a layer of Real Red. The dp is Bo Bunny and My Mind's Eye. Behind Tilda is a white sparky paper by Doodlebug. Her medallion is real red sponged in Cranberry Crisp. This is my FIRST corner punch medallion (if you don't count the 3 practice ones in the garbage!!) It was fun to make. I used Becca's video tutorial which in linked to the TLC on SCS. Thanks, Becca! I used white gel pen dots around the edge.

I made one of Anna Wight's crystal snowflakes and used the Martha Stewart branch punch behind it. The beautiful dotted ribbon is Papertrey inks' pure poppy. There is a pearl in the center of the snowflake, colored with green copic marker.

Tilda is colored in with copic markers and the colors follow:

Face E00,E02 and R20 for cheeks

Reds R17,R29 and R59

Greens YG23, Yg17 and G05

Her hair E33, E35, E08 and E37
