Loads of Love Harvest

Hi there!  I hate when the weekend comes to a close!  I've been putting off some school work I have to do to create this card for the Featured Stamper this week on SCS.  Sometimes ya just gotta create!

I'm so sorry for the poor photo!!
I used the hill die cuts from Papertrey Ink as well as their cloud die.  I stamped the truck from Loads of Love (SU retired) onto orange polka dot paper and cut it out.  I cut away all parts I didn't want to be orange (bumpers, windows).  I stamped another truck on white and cut it out as well. I cut part of the truck cab off to create a half open window.  I left the orange tires on and just colored the tires in with black marker.  I colored the window and bumpers with BG10 and shaded the truck with YR27 and just a little E08.  I added some sparkle with a spica silver pen-to the bumpers, door handle and tires.  It doesn't show in my photos.

The truck and clouds are raised on dimensionals.  The scene piece is mounted on soft suede and then onto kraft cardstock.  Edges of pieces are shaded with the next darker shade for a little dimension.  When I finished the card I wished I had at least sewn on the edges.  It has the look of a quilt to me.

Thanks for visiting!! Cheryl

JUGS challenge #209

Hello and thanks for stopping by!!  This week JUGS has a sketch challenge for you!  We sure hope you'll play along.  You can find details RIGHT HERE.  Check it out!! The whole design team has some fabulous samples to inspire you!  I'm fairly literal so I followed the sketch pretty closely!  I also think it's World Cardmaking Day so it's the perfect day to create a card with our sketch!

AND, there's a prize this week too!!  A 15.00 gift certificate from A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE..

They have so many great craft and paper crafting supplies and great prices too!

I've used my (old) SU paisley background stamp for the card base.  It's stamped in dusty durango and sponged with really rust and lovely lilac.  The purple piece is stamped with the SU cheesecloth bg stamp on Wisteria Wonder with Lovely Lilac.  My spiders are from the SU Booglie Eye stamp set and colored with copics. The sentiment is from American Art.  All pieces are raised on dimensionals and I've added stardust stickles to the spiders!

Please check out our blog (JUGS Challenge)  You have until 9:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 10 to add your entry with Mr. Linky on the blog.  Chic of the Week will be announced on Friday.
Again, my thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day and weekend!! Go create!

I have NEWS!!

Hello again!  Thank you so much for the nice comments you left when I last posted.  I am humbled and grateful that you gave your time to make me feel good.
The news is from JUGS (Just Us Girls Stamping)!  They have asked me to be on their very talented Design Team.  Please see THIS POST because they have also added three other stampers!

JUGS posts a new challenge every Saturday at midnight and we all hope you'll join us this week!! One thing I love about this challenge is that you can use ANY stamps/products that you want. I think it's a great chance to get going with something new in your collection!
That's what I've done here!  THIS POST has last Saturday's Inspiration photo-a beautiful fall photograph.  I let it inspire me to use my new VERVE pumpkin set to make this card. I love fall, orange and, of course, pumpkins!!  Pretty simple (I got it made before work this morning!!)  If I can do it, YOU CAN, too!  The challenge closes tonight (Thurs. Oct. 3) at 9:00 pm.  I also used a challenge sketch over at the Clean and Simple Blog HERE.

The whole JUGSs team would love to have you join us in the current challenge, AND look for the new challenge on the BLOG on Saturday, Oct. 5.
My deep appreciation to you for visiting my little blog today!
Have a great fall day!!

It's been a LOOOONG time!

Good morning!! I was on a long and unintended hiatus from my beloved blog and followers!!  I hope this post finds you well!  I have been making cards all along, but without a design team I was a real slacker! But, I'm back!
Here are a couple of my recent cards.  The top one uses images from SU with a chalk and marker technique of coloring on Kraft cardstock.
And, this is a card using MFT stamps and dies that I made for my sister to give a friend of hers this summer.  I have other pics of the inside and fancy envelope, but I am so rusty at uploading that even these two took me awhile!!

Anyway, welcome back.  It is my plan to post again this week with a giveaway.  Thank you so very much for visiting!! It's good to be back!
Hugs, Cheryl

BRR....Bundled up Tilda!

Hello!! I finished a card during the week!  I think it's because I was so happy to color this Tilda!  I love, love, love her!  She is from the Christmas Story 2012 collection at Magnolia-licious.  I think she's great for winter cards!!  She is officially called TILDA IN THE MOUNTAINS.
I don't see her in the store right now, but if you like her just email Diana and see when she'll be in stock again.  There is so much going on at Magnolia-licious!  Besides regularly discounted prices and sales, you also get 2% back on EVERY order.  There are always challenges at Magnolia-licious Highlites  (right now Love challenge)and the Magnolia-licious Challenge  blog (current challenge-ALL Bundled up!).  Check them out, for sure!  AND, there's a new tell-a-friend on Facebook program.  You tell a friend and they order and YOU get 5% off your next order!  Can't go wrong with that!
My Tilda is colored with copics.  Her ski pants and mittens are RV14, 17 and 19.  I used BG10 and 72 on her shirt, vest and hat.  Her hair started with Y21 and then Es were added (sorry, I'm not sure which ones!).  I used greys from the W collection (W00, W1, W3 and W5) for her boots, skis, goggles and poles.  I used glossy accents on her goggles and, of course, glitter and stickles on her hat and puffy vest.  The snowflakes are punched with MS punches and then sparkled with some MS coarse glitter.  The dp is some of the 'wood' from My Mind's Eye.  Card base is grey with a layer of Baja Breeze.   Besides Tilda, my favorite part of the card is the wood grained paper-I think it looks like the ski lodge she is headed to to warm up!!
Well, time to do a bit of school work before bed!  Thanks for coming by!!
Remember you can comment on the previous post until Saturday morning to will some BLOG CANDY from me!!  (stamps and dies!)

LOOOOVE BLOG HOP!!

When it comes to love the ONLY stamps that come to mind are my Magnolias from Magnolia-licious!!  I never get tired of them!! Today is the Magnolia-licious DT monthly blog hop and the theme is....LOVE!  We would love to see your creations!! Prizes are always given away for our challenges! Ruby has alos challenged us to make Anything but a Card for the challenge.  If you've arrived from the blog of the AMAZING MINDY, welcome!!
Soooo, I made a box with one of Lauren's templates (My Time Made Easy!  It's an adorable box, but I couldn't decide how to use an image on it so I created a card for my Tilda image-#308 TILDA BLOWING HEARTS!  Diana must have sold her out once, but she is on preorder so is sure to be in the store again soon!  Diana has cash back on every order, great prices and selection and THE BEST customer service around.  There's also Sunday Sensations over at Jacque's blog, the Challenge Team blog AND our January challenge has another week left over at Magnolia-licious Highlites!  Many chances to win!!  Please come on and play today!
I colored Tilda with my copics- her bigs are BG10 and BG72. Pinks used are R81, 83 and 85.  They are the best for seamless blending!  Her hair is Y21, E31 and E33.  Same on the shoes, but darker E27 added, then blended.  Of course. stickles and glitter were added for some sparkle!
I added texture to the heart on the box with the same sizzix foler that I used on the card, but then the detail was lost a bit in the sparkle of the stickles dry glitter in diamond.  Oh well, I do love my sparkle!!
And, inside are some perfectly matching caramel Hershey kisses! The box holds a lot of them!!
Here's the top of the box.
And, thank you so much for visiting!! I love when you do!! I still have some 'EXTRA' things that were not claimed with my last blog candy so I would like to have a giveaway for someone who comments on this post. You have until Saturday, Jan. 26!! Please, also consider becoming a follower so you know if you win! It'll be worth it, I promise!!
Now, to continue on our LOVEly blog hop, please travel to the Wonderfully talented CABIO's to see what she has created!!  And when you finish, head to Magnolia-licious Highlites to find out all the details to participate!!  And, if you're in need of some stamps at great prices here's the link to the store-MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS.
Have a marvelous Monday!!

FINALLY!! It's love!

Hello!! I've been trying to post this card since yesterday! Why, oh why, does Blogger have to make things more difficult!! Okay, I'll quit complaining!
I've used #3045 TILDA WITH DOT BOW to make a small valentine.  The spellbinders label is cut on the fold of Kraft cardstock.  Then a layer of poppy red and aqua dp.
The lace edge is from Impression Obsession.  Of course, I added sparkle with stardust stickles.
You may be wondering about the copic color choices!
My plan was to create a Tilda in shades of grey (the great monotone look). I already had the image stamped AND the face colored, so I proceded with the W shades of copics (odd numbers after W00).  I wanted to add a pop of red on the image with my grays so I added some R21, R24 and R29 for the heart, the dots and the cuffs.  When finished, I thought I probably should have just colored her hair in traditional hair colors.
So, I know the card has a bit of a different look to it.  Hopefully, you enjoy seeing different things done with our beloved Maggies!!
Please remember we ALWAYS have challenges going on with the Magnolia-licious design teams and we love lots of inspiration from YOU!
We have ANYTHING GOES at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog until Jan. 31.
There's a GREAT WINTER COLOR CHALLENGE at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog for 4 more days!
AND, there are TERRIFIC prices ALWAYS at THE MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS STORE!  The most current collections are available at special prices and in store credit on EVERY ORDER!
Check out the above lins for SOOOOO much inspiration!!
Thanks for visiting today!!
I'll be back soon!! (Blop hop Monday!!!)
