IBFS-Christmas in July!

Hey there! Thanks so much for dropping by! After a day of cleaning (2 more rooms done!) I get to spend time papercrafting tonight! Since I may finish a card to show you tomorrow I'd better get this one posted now as supper is cooking! The challenge for the next two weeks at I Brake for Challenges is to create a Christmas card! We'll all need to get started on them, right!? I used this fun to color Holly Spray from I Brake for Stamps as my focal image.
I used copics in the following colors:
R14, 44 and 59
G03, 09 and 19
E35 and 29
That's it except to say that we hope you'll consider joining us in the challenge! Please check the blog link out above for other inspiration. All you have to do is link your card up and mention the challenge on your blog (if you have one). You don't have to use IBFS stamps, but if you have some we hope you will.
I hope you've had a productive day and have time to play!
Hugs, Cheryl

Gracious Vases-round two

Hello and happy Monday! We are fully back from vacation, unpacked and laundry is done! Dave is back at work and I need to get going on house cleaning again. How I wish I was one of those people who love to clean! They are my heroes! Here are the other three cards I made using Papertrey Ink's Gracious Vases and Debbie Olsen as my inspiration. I love how all of the cards came out and only have a couple left! (Hence, the poor photos-can't retake!)

Here is the link to my previous post . It also has the link to Debbie's colors:

this last one is my favorite-I love working with multiple buttons!

Thanks for stopping by today! And now to work!

Hugs and wishes for a spectacular Monday for YOU!

Birthday Wishes

Hi! We are homeward bound from our vacation today! So sad it's over, but ready to get back home and see my fam, friends and the cats! I had meant to get this card posted all week! I made it before we left to add to my very small stash of ready to go cards! Do you have one of those? If you visit here, you already know I often make regular sized cards with my Tildas, especially the mini ones! They are perfect for this reason! Here I have used #3011 TILDA WITH STRAW HAT from my favorite store, Magnolia-licious! Diana has soooo many in stock and ships orders out quickly!
I think my papers are older Bo Bunny ones in soft blue and yellow. ONce, again, I used a kraft card base (my favorite!) and then my colored layer. The yellow is from Papertrey ink and the blue is Sus Bashful Blue. I used a Mojo Monday layout from a week (almost two weeks) ago and a Martha Stewart punch that had never been used!
I thought this blue was a nice change from the aqua that I seem to have on every card!
Hope you like it too! Wishing you a great weekend!
Thanks for coming by!

I Brake for Stamps-Summer Fun!

Hello! The I Brake for Stamps has another challenge going on right now! You can find all the details here at the I Brake for Challenges Blog! This is my sample card for the challenge!

Summer fun to me means gardening! Often I wish I had vegetables, but mine is generally flower gardening. I think it fits in with cardmaking because I love all the colors in my flower beds! I'm not a rose gardener though-that was my dad. He loved is roses and we have many pictures that he took of his beloved blooms! Back in the sixties he took movies of everything so we even have movies of his roses! Not a lot of action there! Thankfully, he took movies of us too! Close up of this gorgeous group of roses!

I stamped the image twice and cut out the ones that I wanted to pop forward and raised them with dimensional pieces in the center. Then I glued the edges to the main piece.

The roses are R81, 83 and 85. The leaves are G20, 40 and 24. the basket is Y21 and YR24 with a touch of E99 on the edges.

I used the Splitcoast sketch from last week for my layout.

Wishing you a fabulous Thursday! Please consider joining in on our Summer fun challenge! You don't have to use an IBFS image (But we'd love if you did). Everyone is eligible for the prize. We'd just like to ask that you mention the challenge and link your card post to our blog, please!

Thanks much! Cheryl

Gracious Vases Part I

Hello! I have threee Papertrey Ink cards to show you today. They were 100% inspired by one of the PTI designers whose blogs I stalk! Debbie Olson. Here is THE LINK to her card.

Here is the link to the stamp set GRACIOUS VASES.

While I had the stamps arranged on my blocks I stamped and then colored six of these so I could make a set of cards to have on hand. So, there I will have three more to show you soon. I've saved my favorite for last!

Thanks so much for visiting! Things you may want to look into:

I Brake for Stamps will be posting a new challenge tomorrow (Wednesday, July 13)

You still have today to comment on Jacque's Magnolia-lcious Sunday Sensations for a prize.

Tilda with small gift and a friend!

Hello! Planned on posting this morning, but time got completely away from me! So here I am this evening after another gorgeous WNY day! I've been trying to use some of my Papertrey Ink stamps lately and I thought I could make these three flowers work with my mini favs! Our friend TILDA and her friend, HUGO. They are, of course, from the Magnolia-licious store owned and managed by the wonderful Diana and her family! This is #293 TILDA WITH A SMALL GIFT AND #411 HUGO THE SNAIL. Both are from recent and irresistible mini collections available in the store! The flowers are from Papertrey Ink and are from Flower Fusion #4. I stamped them in ink and then added some shading with my copics. Tilda and Hugo are cut out and placed in the scene. They were curved a bit and put on a dimensional piece and then the edges are glued down to the background paper with quick dry glue. Stickles in Stardust are added to Hugo and to the flower centers. I'm sorry, but I did not keep markers separate to jot down as I colored this time. I know they are BGs and YRs, but I'm sure you had that figured out already!

And, here is another card with Flower Fusion 4. This time the centers are colored black, and then I added black stickles. Very striking IRL, but I could not get the centers to show their glitter very well.

Thanks for visiting tonight! Have a wonderful night and weekend! I'm headed out to the deck with my coffee to read for awhile!

Hugs, Cheryl

Dancing Birthday Bear!

Hi! Happy Fourth of July, Americans!! I'm so proud and grateful to be an American! Despite the problems, this is a great country! My card isn't patriotic as maybe it should be for today, but I wanted to post to let you know (or remind you) about the I BRAKE FOR CHALLENGES blog and challenge! This is our 4th challenge and we hope to grow in participation. Won't you join in! Details are on the blog, but you still have time to enter as challenges will now be every TWO weeks on Wednesday.
This is the Rick St Dennis Birthday bear. He can be purchased individually or in a set with some other cute bears. HERE they are in the store. And, remember that I Brake for Stamps is the US carrier for Wild Orchid flowers!! Check 'em out!

I had a sticky note with the copics I used listed, but it is MIA in my cleaned up house! Will post them if it turns up! My sketch is a Mojo Monday sketch from 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Thanks so much for visiting! And, please check out our challenge! The theme is birthday, you don't have to use IBFS images, but if you do you are eligible for a gift certificate!
Thanks! Cheryl

July Magnolia-licious Challenge!!

Hello! Summer keeps getting in the way of crafting! We're still getting a handle on the gardens and purging unnecessary things on the inside of the house! But, ENOUGH of that! It's a brand new, beautiful month and Mindy Baxter of our fab design team has a sketch for us this month!! Details and the SKETCH are on the Mag Highlites Blog! It's a beauty Mindy! Thanks!

I used #3020 TILDA WITH KITE as the centerpiece of my card. She is available now in mini and in regular sizes and remember you get rewards for shopping a great service!

Her close up and I see I need to blend her face make up better! LOL!
Now, below is my first picture tutorial! I think some wanted to see the sunflower that Michelle (mitchygitchygoomy) gets FULL credit for! I copied!

Here we go.....!

These are Papertrey Ink dies. BeautifulBlooms II
When the link opens, scroll down to see the set of dies, please!

You get all three sizes. The flower I made today is the middle size-about 1.5 inches across

You need THREE of your shape. (The small ones are extra here-I wasn't sure what sizie I wanted so I cut both.)

Now you have to break down the layers of cardstock. I put all three in my crimper at once and roll back and forth 30-40 times.
I don't remove them each time-too lazy for that! Squeeze hard to hold them and turn!

Turn them the other way in the crimper and turn some more! Back and forth!

After crimping, use your fingers to break the fibers apart a bit. I hold the flower by the edge and move it back and forth so they come apart a bit. I don't really peel them apart, but you can. Then I just sort of wad the flowers up! They are quite pliable by this time!

Next, sponge them with a darker shade than your cardstock. I used summer sun (too bright!) and then More Mustard (just right!) Layer glue dots between layers and stack 'em up! alternate your petals.

Here it is!

Now curl up the center section, then the second one just a bit.

Add a center and you're done! The dotted paper from my previous posts makes it look most like a sunflower, but for this I wanted some red!

I hope you've found this helpful and not too simplistic!

Thanks for visiting!
