P is for Poppies, Purple and Polka Dots!

But, in my case, it is not for Photography! I made this card this morning (Summer, Yeah!!) and cannot get a good photo! Purple is so difficult for me! I hope I don't say this too often, but this is much better IRL!! The purple is actually Rich Razzleberry (SU!) and it is such a wonderful color with orange!
The poppies are some I made my ownself using the tutorial earlier this month from Lisa Johnson at Poppie Paperie. They are fun, fun, fun! (You'll be seeing more of them!) Tilda with Ice Cream is from Magnolia-lcious, of course!
I only used one dp because I was going to use lots of flowers (very unlike me!) and this paper is sooooo pretty with the colors. It is made by We R Memory Keepers and is from the Vintage Blue line. I have more coming in the mail with a smaller pattern :)

I paper pieced her top with Bo Bunny double dot in Citrus Dot-it's hard to see-maybe I should add some white dots? This card is 6X6 (also unusual for me!)
There are shiny flowers already on the paper and I added stickles in the appropriate places.

Inky fingers!

Tilda is 3D!

Well, there she is!
I'm so pleased that yesterday I finished at school. My 'stuff'' is in boxed piles-one for each of the schools I'll be working in another of 'stuff' I can't use anymore and I really threw away a lot of 'stuff'!! (That was the best part!) Good for me!
Now summer can begin for real! I should be cleaning, but YOU are more important to me as I try to get my creative mojo going! So thank you SO MUCH for coming by. I have collected a few things for when I reach 200,000 visitors (giveaway). I've redone my blog and need to update the DTs I'm blessed to be on. I will get my categories MUCH more limited in the near future (that was CRAZY when so many show up! LOL!)
Have a wonderful Wednesday! See you tomorrow! Cheryl

Have Yourself a merry Little Christmas!

Hello! It's the 25th again and I finished my card last night so I could post early this AM.
If you came here from Charlene's Scrappy Grandma's Blog you're right on track. Or maybe you happened to start here. Julie Is our leader and you can start there if you want to travel from start to finish. I feel I have to say it-Yes, I know my card is a rather simple little thing. I chose this quickl little Tilda from the Spring Kit and put her in a pretty green Christmas dress. I used Vintage Cream for my card base and some paper from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly 6 inch pad from last year. A quick bow and it was done!
I used Y21, E33, E35, E99, E25 and E29 on her hair.
Her skin is my new fav-E000, E11 and E30 and her dress is BG11, G03 and G05.
Thanks for visiting today! I really appreciate it VERY much! Please be sure to check out the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long blog, too!

Now off you go to see Deb-she's been Playing With color!
Again, thank you!

A CASE of Theft!

Yep, I'm a complete thief and I'll own up to it! This card is the only one I've made this week and it's a complete case of a set that Debbie Olson made. Her blog is Thinking Inking! She is a huge talent! Debbie posted a full set of cards in May on her blog AND for The Classroom at Ellen Hutson. Of course, I can't make a bow like she can! LOL! I'm having withdrawal from no time (and little mojo) to color!
Why does life have to do so much with two things I dislike! What are they?
CHANGE AND CLEANING!
I'm packing up my whole classroom to move to two half classrooms in two school buildings! (Remember last year my job changed!) Now I'll be the Resource and Consultant teacher in two of our elementary buildings and because we're tight on space sharing a room in each of those buildings. So I'm really throwing a lot of stuff away, a pile for each of the schools I'll be working in and another pile of stuff too good to throw away! I'll be working two days past the end of school and then who knows how much time in August to unpack. But then, I come home to a house that I have not even started spring cleaning on! CHANGE AND CLEANING, UGH!

Thanks for listening to me whine a bit! I'm grateful that my followers list is growing and I'm approaching 200,000 visits! Yeah!!! I'm gathering some good giveaway stuff so I hope you'll stick around while I deal with the above and get back to coloring!
I will have a Christmas card tomorrow for the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long monthly blog hop (the 25th).
So thanks for hanging in there with me! I'll see you tomorrow!
Hope you have a great day!

Kids Say the Darnedest Things!

I love that show with both Art Linkletter and much later, Bill Cosby were the hosts! I made this journal for the next Magnolia-licious Big Birthday Bash challenge for the Yahoo group's 2nd birthday celebration! I've linked the blog, but the new challenge isn't posted yet so I won't spill the beans! My little journal fits the challenge so you'll have to guess for now!! I'm okay with being a little early-I missed the BLING challenge completely so I didn't want to miss this one!
They are making the $1.00 journals at Michael's cuter than ever, but nothing is better than covering one for a one of a kind gift! It is so easy to bend the binder wires and slip the cover off and then to put it back on that you've gotta try it! I've used one of my favorite Edwin's (maybe even my FAVORITE!) and colored him up in bright colors to match the Bo Bunny paper.
My idea with the journal is for my nephew and his wife (We're seeing them today! Yeah!!). Their little guy is 2-1/2 years old and I think it would be fun for them to have this journal handy to write some of the funny things he says as he learns about language! (It doesn't hurt that Roberta's favorite color is orange, either!) What do you think of this idea?

You can also let me know what you think of the little "nose" shading I've given Edwin. Does it work or look silly?
Here are the copics I used:
Skin E000, E11, E30
Jeans BG10, BG72 and BG18
Lizard: YG21, YG23, YG17
Sneakers R22, R29, R46 and R59 with a little Y17 at the end for the orange highlight.
Shirt (had a tough time with this!) Y21, YR12, YR15, YR18

The Thing is Bling!

Hello!! Today is our Monthly Mo Blog Hop for Mo's Digital Pencil and as you have gathered from the title our focus is on glitter and other shiny things! If you've come here from the excellent Peri you are right on track. The hop started with our host, the talented Michelle (Shell). I used Summer Fairy Finna for my card.

I went a little crazy trying to use different sparkles. Her wings are a little heavily covered with Diamond Dust Glitter Glass. I used my usual Stardust Stickles on her suit. You can't see it Sorry :( but there is a shimmery spray on the woodsy background. I didn't want to spray the image because I always have the fear of ruining it.
I only used one designer paper (Basic Grey-Wisteria) because I thought it looked just like she is next to a stream in a pretty woodsy clearing. there are some leaves in the top corner, but I added more with an old vine stamp in Mellow Moss. The edges of the paper are sponged in Mellow Moss and a little Almost Artichoke. Then I added some green gemstones to the corners.
(I don't really like the lame flower in the corner, but I had to do something! It's colored and has some stickles on it)
My couch is covered with the copics I used to color this evening (Wed.-late again!) so let's see if I can tell you what they are!
Skin: E000, E11 and E30
Wings: G0000, and G12 (also grass)
Stream: BG10
Suit: BV000, BV31, BV01, and a touch ofBV02

Next, please hop on over to our Debbie to she what beauty she has created!

I can't wait to see what these wings look like when they are dry! Hopefully an improvement!
Enjoy the hop! And have a great day!

Bye Bye!

Hi again, my friends! I have a Mo's card to show you today! I just love the Bye Bye Boy and Bye Bye Girl images that Mo drew. And Cosmo Cricket paper, of course! If I can manage to part with this I think it will be a RETIREMENT card for our 4th grade teacher, Mark (taking his toys and going home!). Mo has images for so many purposes! I printed the digital image out on my Canon printer onto Neenah classic Solar Crest white. I think the trick to the printer is to have one with a rear tray so the paper doesn't have to bend around as it prints. My card is a standard A2, but the fold is to the left. I love rounding the corners of the opening edge!

He is (of course) colored with my copic markers and I save the colors this time!
E000 and E11 for skin.
E31, 33, 35, 25 and 29 for his hair
BG10, 72 and 18 for his jeans
Y17, YR15, YR16 and YR18 for his back pack
Coo, C1, C3, C5, and C9 for the bike tires and handlebars
R24, R35, R46 and R29 for his jacket and bike.
I also added Glossy Accents to the windshield of his backpack. and Silve Spica pen to the tassles and hub caps and the bumper on the pack so there is some nice sparkle and shine.

Speaking of that, there is a Mo's Blog Hop tomorrow you won't want to miss! Hope you can hop with us!
I've had a question about coloring red and they are tricky! I think red bleeds more than the other colors! I will try to some sort of picture tutorial in the near future (school's almost out-1 week to go!) because of this request by JzScrapRN. For now, I think the main thing is to be sure of your color choices-all reds are not created equal!
Thanks so much for coming by the Cottage today!

What a great day!

Hello friends!! Here's a collage style card as an homage to TIM (Tim Holtz)! I may have to get grungier because it was a fun day yesterday! Sharon (Buffalo Stamps and Stuff) and her "people" organized a wonderful day complete with personal shoppers! Lisa, Tracy and I took the Generation Grunge class from the man himself! My card uses Artichoke card stock, then a layer of Riding Hood Red. The "white" panel is Vintage Cream and is embossed with one of the (many) Tim Holtz products I bought yesterday-an embossing folder! I found the dotted paper on my desk from another project and the card came together. It also uses Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic set.
I think one reason the card came together is that I looked at the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS this morning and saw a card I liked! I'm going to upload my card as a CASE over there.

And here's TIM! He was a great teacher, but we
WORKED! I thought I would never get all that sanding done!

Wish I knew what he was discussing here! He was very entertaining!

And, finally a couple of photos of my Generation Grunge Journal. We used the same elements, but the journals I was able to see were all very different!

That's it. I must try to get a Mo card done tonight and, of course, my Maggies have felt neglected since last weekend!
Thanks for coming by to look!
Hugs, Cheryl

A Sweet post!

Well, probably more sweet for me than you! I hate to post without something to show you and this is the best I can pull off today. I got this adorable image colored and used a bit of paper piecing, but she doesn't have a home on a card yet! But, the reason it's sweet for me is that I'm meeting up with two good friends and we're going to Buffalo Stamps for a class with noneother than Tim Holtz! I KNOW! SWEET!!
I've got to finish getting ready, grab a bite of yogurt and get going!

Just had to tell you!
Have a great day and weekend!!

Birthday Bash Easel Card!

Hi! I'm sorry I've been gone so long! Thanks for visiting today to see what I've been up to! I think about papercrafting all the time, but don't actually get much of it done lately! KWIM? Well, it's another busy week as we get closer to the end of the school year! I won't bore you with all the details 'cuz I have a lot of card pictures to show and I think that's probably why you came!
The challenge this week was posted by Kay and she has given us a double challenge! We are to make an Easel card using a stamp that has never seen ink! I used FOUR of them! (the leaf stamps don't count-they're from Papertrey and I've inked them lots). Please visit the Birthday Bash Blog for all the details and where to show off your card!

There is a lot of strawberry paper out there now, but my favorite is from Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry set. I like that it has pink in it and is easy to use with brown because of it's aged look. The dotted paper on the bottom is from October Afternoon. Some of the stamps are from one Sweden's stamp kits, but have been added to the regular collections. Please visit Diana's store to check out what's in stock - MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS.
I see the strawberry from the background is on sale now!
.

I used a lot of colors and didn't keep track this time-Sorry! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments and I will get back to you! (My "reds" started with R20 and went to R29, building the color with most of the markers in between!)
Thanks again for coming by! I DO appreciate it so much! Wishing YOU a great day!

Pool party!

Everybody into the pool! Our weather has been just great during May and so far June is no different! While I had some bright colors out for yesterday's card I also colored this image up in some of my favorite colors for summer-hot pink, orange and aqua. Love them! I just love this craft of ours where if I want Bella to have a sparkly pool noodle she can have one! I also used Crystal effects on Bronte's tube and the swimmies Bella is wearing. Mo's image Pool Party was just perfect for the colors. Of course, I got it colored and had no idea what papers I was going to use! So even though I colored her on Monday, it took me a couple of hours to finish the rest of the card on Tuesday evening!
The image reminds me of High school when we had to wear those hated bathing caps in the school pool! But I think Bella is in for more fun than we had. I have no idea how she got all her hair into that thing, though!
I was able to use some much neglected supplies on the card.
I used some Core-dinations paper with the swirl CB embossing folder and then sanded like crazy to reveal the core of the paper. Then I uncovered my sand castle EK Success punch for the border at the bottom.
My image was colored with my NEVER neglected copic markers in the following colors:
E000, E11 and R30-skin
BG10, BG11, BG72 suit
R20, R21, RV14 and RV25 pinks
YR21, YR12, Y38, YR04 oranges
E31, E33, and E35 beach and W00, W2 and W3 around the image.
Wishing YOU a great Wednesday (wow the days fly by!)

CCC-29-Animals!

Hi friends! I hope you had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend! We did! It's already June 1 and time for another Copic Creations Challenge! Our challenge is sponsored by Hambo Stamps this time and we were sent an ANIMAL image to color! Obviously, they is not the challenge for realistic coloring! These bright birdies were fun, fun, fun! Copic Creations Challenge Blog has details for you along with the wonderful samples by the rest of our team. And here's the link to HAMBO if you want to see all their whimsical images!

The close up! I kept track of some (but not all) of the the colors I used. I'm sorry!
I used BG10, BG11 and BG72 for the blue bird.
The green one is YG21, YG23 and YG25
Y04, Y11 and Y35 for the yellow. The birds are surrounded with shades of Warm Grey. That's all I've got!
On Saturday Dave and I had some family over for a hot dog cookout. We sat out by the fire until 10:30. On Sunday we went to our friends' (Lisa and Kevin) cabin for another cookout. We got to meet lots of their friends and family. All are really great people! On Monday my DH was the Commentator/Announcer for the Memorial Day parade in Dunkirk! So, a great weekend!
Hope YOURS was as well!
Thanks for coming by today!
