A Hatchling!

Hi and thanks for coming by my Cottage! This is another card I finished over the weekend and just now have time to post. Another adorable Tilda from the Hoppy Easter collection at Magnolia-licious! I used more of the Magnolia made paper (also from Magnolia-licious!) as my background. Then I added a floral from my new Basic Grey Kioshi pad-love this new collection! It's so perfect for spring! I had the card put together and then decided the ribbon needed to be woven into the lattice punch. Well, I had glued it down really well! What a mess. I was able to punch a new one and cover the place where the top of the paper pulled off! Great save! The my bow was sort of small so I added some of the green chandelier beads that I got from...that's right... Magnolia-licious!
I had Book Club on Monday and DH and I have also been car shopping so I'm not getting much else done this week. The first of the month (How did that happen already?!) is tomorrow so there will be another Copic Creations Challenge posted-I'll get it done somehow!! In the next couple of days there will also be a new Magnolia DT monthly challenge posted on our blog! Yikes! (And, we pick up my new car tonight!)
I'm sorry, I didn't keep track of colors this time :(
Welcome to my new followers and thanks to all my followers! Love ya!
Have a great day!

Hoppy Easter!

Good morning! I really appreciate you coming by and I apologize for not posting the last three days. I don't know where the time goes on the weekends! I cleaned and created, but didn't get around to posting!
On the other hand, is there a better collection for Easter than Magnolia's Hoppy Easter? I think not!! This is #3048 Bunny Tilda! She is on preorder right now (sorry!). The cart is #601 Wagon of Eggs and is available at Magnolia-licious! AND here's the PAPER!
I colored the wagon and cut it out with a rectangle nestability. While in the die I used my 1 inch stencil brush to brush Aqua Mist ink around the rectangle. Then I used a little Distress Vintage Photo right over it so the color wasn't so bright. When I do a background this is how I do it-I don't own the compressor for my copics.
The wagon is colored with Y21, E31, E33, E25 and E29. The grass is YG01, and YG25. The eggs are BG0000, BG10. The wheels are BG10 and BG72. Miss Bunny Tilda herself was colored to match this wonderful Magnolia paper! It isn't really pink, it's a perfect match for SU's Pale Plum! I used markers RV0000, RV93 and RV11.. My card is an unusual 4 3/4" x 51/2". And finally, is my attempt to one of the beautiful flower clusters all you creative, talented crafters are doing- I'm not very good at it!
Have a great Monday! Me, I wish I didn't have to go to work today! But, oh well, it's off to work I go! Hi, Ho!
Thanks again for stopping by! Love ya!

Christmas All Year Long-blog hop!

Welcome to the 25th of March! I don't know if you'll agree, but I think March is flying by! the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group is having our third blog hop! Since mentioned that March 25 has sort of snuck (sneaked?) up on me, you'll understand that this was another card put together in a hurry! I made it easier by stamping the packages on cosmo dp and just shading a bit and coloring the yarn! Tilda got the usually treatment-creamy skin, glowing hair and an outfit to match the paper! I added stitching again because it makes a nice detail without adding thickness, then the know bow in the corner and DONE!

Thanks for coming by today and making me feel so special with your visits and comments! I appreciate it so much!
And now you can hop on, if you'd like ,to Deb's Blog Playing with Color
And here is the blog where it all started:
Christmas all Year Long with Magnolia-licious. I'm sorry, but I've forgotten what time to post so you may want to check the Mag blog above for the other participants.

Have a great Thursday!

You Party Animal!

Hi, and thanks for all the nice comments yesterday! I appreciate all your warm thoughts! I NEVER have enough birthday cards on hand so last night I decided to color this image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Birthday Hamster, that I had printed out awhile back. I matched him to this great MME paper from my stash. I colored the hamster similar to Scooter, a class pet I had a looong time ago.
It's 5:00 AM here and I just could not get a clear picture, but I think this cupcake looks pretty good with it's springy colored frosting! I have almost all the copic colors (obsessed with them!), but seem to always go for the same colors! I didn't exactly keep track of them last night when I was coloring, but I remember most of them because they are favorites! I used BG0000, Bg10 and BG72 for the frosting, YG0000, YG93 and YG97 for the paper and Y21 and Y24 for the cupcake. The hamster is a mix of E31, E99 and maybe a couple of others.

To see other creations by Mo's DT please join us at PaperCraftPlanet or visit our DT blog-
Mo's Digital Design Team. While you're there you can also read the top post about how to enter to design with us! There's a great sketch!

Tomorrow is the 25th and that means another Christmas all Year long blog hop with Magnolia-licious! Hope you can stop by!
thanks for visiting today!

Your Special Day!

Good morning! Here's my version of the distressed look that is so popular. I wanted to post it today because my dear, dear Mom would have been 81 today, March 23, and this is a card she would have enjoyed very much! How I miss you, Mom.Mom was always creative and fostered creativity in all 6 of her children. I sucked my mom into this habit when I took her to an SU party and she enjoyed it so much-one of the many things we had in common. Her philosophy was that if she wanted something (at a stamp party) she was going to order it rather than regret not getting it. We enabled each other
at those parties!I believe in giving credit where credit is due! I used Suzanne Dean's free tutorial (19-23) on coloring for a distressed look. I found it a great way to know which colors to use for the lighter look. I also used Card Couture white card stock. The color stays very light because it does not absorb into the paper very much. This Tilda is on Preorder at Magnolia-licous. Diana is ALWAYS getting orders in so it probably won't be long!
Thanks for coming by to look at my cards!
I appreciate it so much!!
Have a great day!

Hey, Chickie!!

Good Monday morning to all! My Hoppy Easter stamps came on Friday and I got many of them stamped right away! They are all so terrific, but I remember when Diana first opened her preorder and showed us these images-this was one of the first ones to catch my eye! She is soooo cute in her costume! After choosing the image I chose the sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge blog. She has some really great ones! Then I set to coloring our sweet Tilda! She came out just as I hoped she would. I found this oval in a stash of cut ovals that I had discarded from previous cards-the bottom was aqua so I put it back in the Spellbinder's Die and used my stencil brush to swirl on some Adirondack lettuce ink! Perfect background!
I chose my papers from the recent Cosmo Cricket release 6x6 pad. I got the card laid out and decided the Kraft needed a stamp so I called on my SU background-linen.
Once I got the buttons on I needed something on the left so decided on this single flower and some fern punches.
No room for a sentiment on this 4.5" x 4.5" card so I will finish the inside with a layer of dp and then use my "Hey, Chickie!" sentiment for a hello card to a friend. She doesn't need to be just for Easter!
She makes me smile!
Wishing you a terrific day! Thanks so much for a great blog week last week! I have my attempt at a Distressed Tilda card for you tomorrow!
Cheryl

Mo's DT blog hop! In Stitches

I hope my card doesn't have you 'in stitches'. When I thought I could complete this card on Wednesday night I wasn't planning on a blazing headache!! I had this adorable image of Eli colored, but had to put the card together and stitch.
That's where it fell apart! I never should have stitched my focal image because I botched it up horribly! It looks like Eli took over driving the sewing maching instead of his box!
Well, the image is super and here is the link to Eli on Mo's Digital Pencil Too!
If you're traveling in order you came here from Rosettes' blog and I bet you love what you saw there!
I have the colors, but just can't get them typed tonight. Will try to get it done tomorrow.
Now you can move on to some fabulous prjects by the other DT members as you move through the hop!
Next up is Lori and you'll want to see what beauty she has come up with!
Thanks for stopping by, I've been soooo happy with all my visitors this week!
Please remember you can go HERE to comment for a chance to win my Tilda Honey Bee project!
AND you can go HERE to win another card and a Tilda stamp!
With appreciation! Enjoy your day!

Top O' the Mornin' to Ya!

And Happy St. Patrick's Day! Isn't a great day!? The kids at school will be trapping and 'almost' catching leprechaun's all day! There will be many of the little fellows seen by youngsters with great imaginations! I love all things Irish! (Though there's not a drop of Irish blood in me-I'm English and German) This is Tilda with Shamrocks from last spring and the basket of shamrocks is from Alota, but Diana carries some of their images to use with our Tildas and Edwins! The greeting came from Magnolia-licious, too! I don't see any of them in stock right now, but if you're interested you can certainly let her know! She is all about customer service!
The basket is colored with Y21, YR24 and then browns are added-I think E25 and E29. I'm sorry but I'm not sure which greens I used on the shamrocks in the basket.

I love the little gold key (that I never got around to using on a Valentine's Day card!) I used Diamond stickles on her shamrocks because they have a slight gold tint to them in the light. The basket shamrocks are covered with stardust stickles for contrast.
Okay, Tilda is mostly colored with the Adirondack distress inks I've had for awhile now! I'm not very good with them!! I colored her face with copics and the suit and hat, socks and shoes are the inks. I couldn't get the variation on the suit so I went ahead and added some copic greens too. The paper is a good quality hot press and is quite smooth and sort of creamy in color.
I'll chalk this one up to learning and try again sometime! Sure won't be retiring my copics!

I'll see you tomorrow with Mo's monthly DT blog hop, but until then...
May your troubles be less,
And your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door.

Copic Creations Challenge!

Mary, our VERY talented leader asked us to make a card using one or more of the copic techniques we enjoyed over the last year! You see, it's the Copic Creations Challenge ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! The rest of the gals had a post earlier on Monday and this is my project. I went for the caucasian skin and blond hair techniques because I was dying to ink up this cutie and her honey jar! I stamped the jar and masked it to stamp Tilda. It was very easy to line up the images! The paper is once again the Bo Bunny Jazmyne line as in yesterday's post.
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THE PRIZES MARY HAS COLLECTED! AMAZING! YOU CAN READ WHAT THEY ARE AT THE COPIC CREATIONS BLOG. We do hope you'll enter!
and BE SURE TO TRAVEL TO SEE ALL THE SPECTACULAR PROJECTS 'CUZ WE ARE ALL GIVING AWAY OUR CARDS/PROJECTS! oh MY!
JUST LEAVE ME A COMMENT TO WIN THIS PIECE! (Winner to be chosen around April 1st and announced April first when our next challenge posts.

The close up! So cute I don't know how I'll give it away, but I WILL! (BTW-It's really a 6x6 card front (or frameable)-I didn't have 12x12 paper in the right color cardstock to make a 6" card!
Colors used:
E000, E01 and R20 for skin, cheeks
yellows Y21 and YR24
suit YG91, Yg93 and then blended with YG0000
Hair Y21, Y24, E33 and touches of E27
Purples V0000, V01, V15 and V09

I thought maybe this was a better photo of Monday morning's post-acetate. Please scroll down and leave a comment on the post below to win a card and a Tilda stamp! Winner will be chosen on Sunday morning (3/21)
Thanks!
Okay, this may post Monday evening ET instead of my planned Tuesday because my fingers hit enter too soon!! What ever happens-enjoy and I hope you have time to jot a comment on both posts!!
Wednesday-a St. Patty's Day Tilda!

Thanks for reading all this! Cheryl

Amazing Acetate blog Hop!

Good morning! Welcome to the Magnolia-licious Design Team Project of the Month Blog Hop! I don't remember whose idea it was to use acetate in our card/project but it was a GREAT idea! Maybe it was Becca's idea, cuz that's where we started the hop-at Amazing Paper Grace. If you then came from our GDT member, Angie you are right on track! I was trying to take daylight photos and keep the real shades of color so I'll apologize right now for the poor photos! This Tilda with Bike is on reorder
at the store. As Diana mentioned she is one of the smaller ones from last year. Her head could almost be covered by a quarter. For me this means she fits well on a standare A2 sizd card!

I love, love, love how an acetate card looks so that's what I started with! It was so fun I decided to make a box to go with it and use an acetate window!
I used new Bo Bunny sparkly paper with SUs orchid opulance. It's not my favorite color but is the perfect match for Bo Bunny's Jazmyne paper! The box is from Lauren Meder's new store My Time Made Easy and is called Shutterfly. I cut the flowers from my Bo Bunny dp.

I'll be honest, I had started this Tilda a while back and had her hair and skin colored already! I decided to stamp another and paper piece her apron with Papertrey Ink's Easter paper. I used Y21 and YR24 for the flowers and basket and V0000, Voo, V01, V09 and V15 for the purples. The bike tires are Cool Greys and I'm not sure about the greens.

Fabulous FS on SCS!!

I just love playing in the Featured Stamper challenge on Sunday! Here is my card for today! I took a break from coloring to make this and it came together very quickly! Sometimes it's fun to make a card that is easy to mass produce and I think I could make quite a few of these with different colors! I can just see it in Raspberry Fizz!
It's pretty self explanatory so I'll say so long for now and I hope your day is a FABULOUS one!
Cheryl

Ps. sorry my blog is not easy to read right now-back to the design blog to look for a white background (hopefully, later today!)

Izzie has a flower!

Hello and Happy Saturday! Here is a card I made with a Stamping Bella image, Izzie! It is for their challenge this week to make a monochromatic card. I colored her with monochromatic colors, but then wanted to use my fav Cosmo Cricket paper from the Early bird collection! I don't know if my card will "count" for the challenge, but I like it!
I also make some scalloped ruffles from pages of an old ("vintage" hehe!) book from my attic!
Credit for this goes to Dawn McVey, one of the design team for Papertrey Ink. Such a clever idea, I think!
Izzie is colored with the BG line of copics, BG11, BG72, BG18 and BG 75. I tried (not quite successfully!) to make grass like Paula Tracy of the Stamping Bella design team!
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you've seen something you like!
News for the week:

Quick post..Strange card!

Good morning! I am running late, but don't like to go more than a day without posting! This odd card is in honor of March which is a mixture of Winter and Spring! And it is for my friend Lorrie in Ohio whose birthday is today! Lorrie LOVES winter and spring is okay, but she DOES NOT like the heat and humidity of Ohio's summers! That explains my mixture of spring colors and flowers with a winter image and edge punch! (I HOPE!)

I also want to thank CANADA for the wonderful Winter Olympics that recently ended! I loved every minute of the hours and hours that we watched! What a beautiful setting and great country! Thank You!

Gotta go! wishing you a productive day! come again sooon!
Cheryl

New blog borders and NO SNOW coming this weekend!

Border punch on last post is Martha Stewart and is called Hydarngeas. I got mine at www.franticstamper.com Fran has them ALL!

Celebrate Your day!

It's Monday, but let's celebrate anyway! I love posting Magnolias on Monday! My Tilda came from Magnolia-licious, but she doesn't seem to be available right now-very popular I expect! You can email Diana at HER STORE to check on when she will be coming in again. This Tilda is from the Raising the Ceiling collection. I recently purchased some white card stock from Card Couture as recommended by fellow DT member Suzanne Dean at Scrap Bitz. I agree with her that the color blends nicely because it stays wet on top of the paper. A big difference, though, from the Neenah Classic Solar Crest white that I usually use is that because the color doesn't absorb into the paper you don't get as much depth and darkness to your colors.
You also have to be careful not to blend too much because the color can get muddy (her hair started to do this before I realized it). I still will use it and my Neenah Classic AND my Papertrey Ink white! Just depends what look I want.

That's the Ultra fine Flower Soft for the grass (why didn't they just make it this way in the first place!) Love it! Want more colors!
The card stock is all SU-Celery, Banana, and Lavender.
The "field" that Tilda is running in is from Kaiser Kraft Lilac Avenue (6x6 pad) Mine came from No Time to Stamp-Sharon Johnson. It has lots more great papers!
Copic marker colors are as follows:
Face skin: E000, E01 and R20
Socks Y21 and Y32
Hair Y21, E99, E25, E08 and E29
top and Pants BV31, Bv00, BV01, BV02, BV17 (top doesn't' have BV17 added)
Time to get ready for work! Thanks for coming by! Wishing you a GREAT day!

Summer fun!

Hi friends! Here's the adorable Bella and her loyal Bronte Camping! It is, of course, one of Mo's images! It reminds me of camping many, many years ago! We were a family of six children and working parents-no elaborate vacations for us! It was camping somewhere around NY every summer-and tent camping (for most of the years) at that! My mom was a trooper! It was a lot of work for her, but SO MUCH fun for us! I don't think I every slept "under the stars", however!
I've used this Cosmo Cricket plaid many times, but this time I was able to use the reverse side too! Look at those little pull campers! Love it! I do not own a star punch, but flowers were not going to work here! I punched the five petal flower from SU and then carefully trimmed off the curves to get the large star. Then I used a similar method inside the 5 petal flower to get a fairly evenly spaced small star. They are sponged with mustard ink, covered with Matte
Accents and then glitter glass. I don't know if you can see it, but I also added some tan Fun Flock to the inside of the sleeping bag! Comfy!
Here's the link to the image at Mo's Digital Pencil!
It may not be camping weather yet, but the sun is shining for the third day in a row! Some of the snow has to melt!
Enjoy your Saturday and thanks so much for stopping by and please know how much I appreciate all the nice comments I get!

Huggable Hank...err Marty!

Hi stampin' friends! Well, this card is one of my favorite non Magnolias that I've made lately! This is Huggable Hank fro High Hopes, but the card is for our Great nephew, Marty who turns 5 on Saturday! I kept the embellishments to a minimum 'cuz what does a 5 year old care about that stuff! The rope is what Marty would use to tie poor old Hank up within minutes!

The inside sentiment (an oldie) says, "This hug's for you!" Happy birthday!
My copic colors are YG01, YG91, YG93 and a little YG97. The lavendar wings are BV000, BV11, Bv13. I used some Woo and W2 around him and on his nails and spikes. I see spots I could have blended more, but I'm pretty happy with him!
Answers to a couple of questions:
I drew the black lines around the injured dog on Saturday's post (no stamp)
My HP Printer that I got last year (before researching!) is a great printer, but since it feeds through the front it would not feed through the heavier paper that I wanted to print on. It simply required the paper to make too sharp a curve as it went around the printer. The rear tray means the paper slides down through with hardly any bending-Easy-peasy printing :)
Thanks for asking-ask anything you're wondering about-I know I leave things out or don't explain them well!
Enjoy your day!! Cheryl

Magnolia-licious March Sketch!!

Jacque gave us a great sketch to work with for the March challenge! It is so great that I was inspired to make a box too! I have more pictures so I'll try to keep the chat to a minimum! This is Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling Collection (and the Winter kit). If you are interested please let Diana know. She'll give you info on when she will have more in the store. Please head to the Challenge blog to see the sketch and the other Design Team member's gorgeous creations.

My box is from Papertrey Ink template called Do Me A Favor. The sides open wide so it would hold quite a bit. I've forgotten to mention that I printed a lot of boxes because a few weeks ago I bought a new printer and I am seriously IN LOVE with it! It's a Canon with a Rear tray so it prints all these templates I've bought. I'm soooooo happy! This is one I had printed (in soft sky) and it seemed the perfect time to put it together!

I used Y21, E08 and E25 on her hair. Her shoes are E33 and E99. Her dress is BG10 and BG72 and the green is YG01 and YG25. Her skin is the usual E000, E01 and R20.

Love this little gal, so here's a close up!
And then a pic of the front of our house! Our "olow guy" had to pile the snow on Sunday so there is room WHEN (not IF!) we get more! Funny how you can hardly see the front door!
(I had two pics, but one disappeared on upload!

CCC23 A WEE BIT O' GREEN!

Hello friends!! Our challenge for the next two weeks is to get those copics out and color something GREEN!!
Our sponsor is Our Craft Lounge and they are giving THREE OCL sets to the winner! Wowee! That's a great prize!
The set I was asked to work with is Sea-son's Greetings! Cute turtles, fishes and sentiments in a Holiday Theme. I know a turtle isn'st a FISH, but I love this little sentiment!
When I finished the card I wished I had sewn the edges-oh, well, next time I guess.
I have my sewing machine handy, but I'm not used to planning my cards with sewing so I forget.
The green copics I used on my turtle are YG01, YG25 and G03. There are stickles on my little ocean scene that aren't showing in the picture.
We hope you'll play-you have two weeks and you can use any images, just show us some GREEN
Please see all details and the rest of the design team's work HERE. Good luck!
Back tomorrow with my card for the Magnolia-licious March sketch card!
Have a great day! Cheryl
